Cognition 2.2 SMS Problems - Captivate General

I have recently noticed a couple SMS problems. First of all, a couple of friends told me they never received my text messages. Then, last month, my brother sent me a text, but I never received it. Finally, another friend received a text half a day later... This is frustrating!
Has anyone had this problem on their Captivate (with, or without Cognition 2.2)?

Isn't that like a super old firmware?

Text message

For the last 3 hrs when I would send a text message it will don't beck saying "unable to send message after multiple attempts" and then I'll receive them late as well. This just started 3 hrs ago. Are there any known outages that I should be aware of? I switched over to wifi and it seems to be working fine for my text messages

It's most likely a Network problem. Try restarting your phone, and if that doesn't work just wait for the problem to be fixed.

I've been having the same issues today using my G2X. Several messages sent/received much later than they were initially sent. Kinda annoying.

Facebook Issues

Anyone here have issues with the Facebook App? I never seem to get notifications even though I have notifications set to the minimum value (30 min?)
Thanks!
I am going to guess it has something to do with the update they released today. Mine was working fine until a few days ago.

I'm not sure - I've had my device for a couple of weeks and it's been like this since I got it...
Wanted to bump this up. I have this same issue with my Galaxy Tab 10.1 as well!!
Am I missing something?!

SMS problems?

When reply to a message sometimes my phone will send the message to someone otherthan who i am replying to. This has happened at least 4 or 5 since since I got my charge a few months ago. It's happened on stock SMS and GoSms.
Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know the solution?

No one else has had this problem?

Never heard of this problem. You are completely stock right?
Could be that the message you got was a group message. I've heard that some VZW phones will respond to all recipients of a group sms/mms message, though I don't know what phones or when it will happen.
I'm running humble 5.0 right now but I do remember it happening on gummy too. I'm 100% positive it wasn't a group message too.
Another problem I've had is that I'll try deleting a thread of messages on stock messenger but it will delete a different thread.

[Q] CMAS interpreted as SMS

For the past few months I've been receiving garbage texts. Random characters at seemingly random times, but when they start coming in they're pretty constant.
Until recently I just figured this was some sort of spam or exploit that didn't work with my phone.
It wasn't until this tremendous thunder storm that I put two and two together. Myself and co-worker both have Nexus S 4Gs. We hear each other complaining about the texts at the same time. Found some other Sprint users that had alerts going off. Weather alerts. At the same time as the other 4G owner and I were receiving texts. Turns out Sprint turned on CMAS (Commercial Mobile Alert Service) and modded phones, or the 4G in general has no idea what to do with them.
Is anyone else having this issue, any ideas on how to block texts without sender information?
I started receiving these a couple weeks ago. The sms blocker apps from the market combat them pretty well.

I just got my wife a refurbished Nexus S and she has been having the same issues occasionally. Often they were within other normal messages in a thread! First I thought it might be the app Handsent which I had installed for her, but even after uninstalling it kept going. I have never had these in many Photon, so I'm a bit at a loss!!
Any ideas what it could be. My wife wants me the verify that the phone I'd working ok!

What's up with whatsapp?

Has anyone been having issues with whatsapp this week? I'm constantly getting delayed messages (30-45 mins late). Its so bad that my outgoing messages will go out and then suddenly I get messages from 20 mins ago so the conversations are mixed up. This is happening to me and my wife who is out of the country right now and several of her family members too. Just wondering if any of you guys are seeing the same behavior as well. I've searched Google for any news about this, checked their twitter, etc but can't find anything about any issues.
Thanks!

No, no such issue. It does sometimes take a while to send (even on 60Mb internet), but nothing that dramatic...
Could be the new update from 01 Juli. I've had it happen with a previous update a few months ago. Seems there are more people with recent functionality issues since the new update. (Play reviews) It's why I put off updating untill it starts whining about it, I'm still on the previous update.
Thank you! I didn't think to check the play reviews. Yep, a fair number of people saying the same thing.

If you continue to have issues with whatsapp I recommend using viber as an alternative, it's essentially the same thing but better quality servers in my opinion. You can even make free calls internationally.

thats not actually a solution bro

Yeah its not. I already convinced everyone to move to whatsapp from kik, plus my wife can't sign up for viber right now since she is out of the country and using a local SIM.
Having said that, the fact that viber syncs with a desktop app gives me tons of incentive to switch chat programs again. That's always been my one complaint about whatsapp. I hate being at work and having to pull out my phone to message people when I have a full keyboard sitting right there in front of me. This will be a godsend assuming I can convince all my people to switch yet again.
