this saves your SMS to SDCARD and then you can restore it to your device. its usable, if you often try new ROMs or other cases...
Just downloaded it only cause I like your kernels thought I would give it a run for you so here is my feedback
1. It does what says
2. Tested with texts unread and it keeps them backed up as unread a good thing
3. Its very fast backsup in seconds and restores as quick
4. Only thing I'm not keen on is it saves to root of memory card can in not be made to create a folder and save into that folder called SMS backup for example
Oh and this app would be perfect for my gf as she saves some msgs and it restores in the same format as it was in unlike some back up ones they store different and become hard to understand who said what
Also the delete all msgs works perfect did exactly that I reinstalled and deleted 7times no fails will carry on testing and will report back over if any bugs appear
From England with leedroid dhd techo!

that was really quick update you must be a god
V 0.4 works restores all messages but when you press delete all messages it starts then force closes go in to messages they appear to be gone but once phone reboots they are back only the the delete force close this app will be perfect
The feature that I really would like to have in a SMS backup app is the ability to backup as a nice formatted HTML file. Not a lot of apps have this feature and for those that do have, the generated HTML doesn't look nice at all.

Backing up to gmail is safer as sdcards can get corrupted easily or your phone could be lost or stolen.. when backed up to gmail you will always have it.

Id suggest to provide an option to either backup to gmail or to sdcard.. have the user decide.

I've decided to release two of the ROMs I use frequently. These are pretty much the stock ROMs made by the respective owners; Adam G & Cyanogen, however i've removed some stuff that I never use.
I've added the apps+cache2sd to Cyan's ROM because it doesn't have it native yet, and I've also reintegrated Google Apps back in to save two flashes.
I symlink /etc/hosts to /sdcard/etc/hosts because AdFree can't update the file in it's default location due to rw limits on /system.
I've also added some apps that I always installed anyway, but i've put them on /data/apps so they can be easily removed if you want to.
There are two branches with essentially the same mods:
C = CyanogenMod
O = Open Desire
Current base ROMS
C - CyanogenMod 6 RC2 & DT A2SD+ v2.7.5rc2 + Google Apps re-integrated
O - Open Desire 3.4.2
Common features:
- ADW Launcher 1.1.1 as stock launcher
- Black status bar with custom full colour icons
- Icons patched in MMS, Market, GMail to work with black status bar
- "hosts" file symlinked to /sdcard/etc/hosts to allow AdFree updating
- Magic Smoke & Visualisation Live wallpapers removed.
- Amazon MP3 removed
- ProTips removed
- QuickOffice removed
- Facebook & Twitter moved to /data/app - allows easy removal
Addtional Apps - all installed to /data/app
- AdFree
- Facebook
- Twitter
- RomManager
- SetCPU 2.0.2
- Titanium Backup
- Quick Settings
TO-DO
- Optimize PNG's
- Build in interface colour change without having to import from sdcard
- Build in ADW settings
- Boot animation
- More sexy visual changes
- Make status bar battery percent less jumpy
- Fix SetCPU FC on O branch

I like the idea behind it, will give it a try. Its pretty much exactly what I did after I put Cyanogen RC2 cept I didn't bother with the App2SD.
Sounds interesting mate, I gave a look to CyanogenMod' ROM some weeks ago and I loved it, but I can't live without A2SD+.
Thank you.
Hmmm.. I've been waiting for old school a2sd in cyanogen.
Will give it a try (besides, you'll probably get me fired if I dont )
EDIT:
The cyanogen one worked nicely, abeit a tad slower in quadrant than OD 3.4.2
Not sure if adfree is working, as I'm seeing ads in things that I dont get ads in in OD
nandroided back to my modded OD, although I did flash your font over afterwards
Install went fine with no issues. Quite impressed with it. Good job.

Strange, i had it running ALL night playing MP3's and its only dropped to 60%.
Also there shouldn't be any difference between this and the original ROM as i've not tweaked them power usage wise.

Did you add /sdcard/etc/hosts? It's present on mine when I flash, i might have to add one to the ROM to make the symlink work. Did it write one to your card?

I just noticed that the battery indicator does not drop gradually; it drops in steps of 20%. After a full charge, it stayed on 100% for quite a while, and then it dropped straight to 80%. This led me believe the Rom was eating up the battery.

Ah yeah I noticed that too, I'm going to update the battery graphics today and hopefully fix that. I'll put a patch as well as a full build for both as I'm updating some of the built-in apps too.

I am waiting your rom based last "OpenDesire v3.5.0", but I prefer a Mod for only update AOSP.
Wait & see
I'm not sure if it did create a hosts file or not, guess I'm just used to dnlgee's hosts file that's in od
I've picked your rom apart, and made a zip that'll add the bits I want from it to flash over od (just the font and a few command line utils that are in cyanogen but not od). Let me know if anyone wants it uploading somewhere

Here y'are, its "signed" but my first attempt at signing failed, so needs the verification turning off in clockworkmod..

Completely removing the files/apks can prevent you from getting future OTA updates, where freezing them with Titanium Backup is like removing them, but if you thaw them out, they return and you can still get OTA updates.

Freezing backup assistant causes force closes for me since it keeps restarting itself. Everything else worked great tho, thanks.
Frozen but still showing up
So I froze a bunch of apps in tit back but it seems like a lot of the links to them are still visible... for instance i froze daily briefing but when i long press on a home screen to add a widget i can still see all four of the daily briefing apps. Same goes for icons when i long press to add applications to my home screen. Is this just a failure by tit back to clean up these items from everywhere?

Just picked up the Charge (for my daughter) and I've not used Titanium Backup at all, but presume its easy to figure out freezing apps. My question is why freeze vs delete? I've pretty much always used CM 6 or 7 so this is something I haven't had to deal with before.

Not Flaming but this question was answered on the previous page. There is only two pages, you should read them.
When I freeze car cradle my dock no longer works. On my droid when I added a new car home app it gave me the option to make that default when docked, but I don't get a message for the Charge. Anyone know a way around this? I really want to use my car dock but car cradle is complete crap.

Sorry if I seem dense to you, but I don't really know what 'freezing' is. That's my question I suppose. Why one (freezing) vs the other (deleting)? Freezing leaves them on the phone but keeps them from being visible/loading? I certainly read the prior page, but someone saying 'I froze these files' and someone else saying, 'just delete them' doesn't really help me out much, hence my question. Just trying to understand something new. Is there a good reason to freeze something rather than just delete?
Edit: Nevermind. Still kinda wondering just what freezing does, but tibu is pretty self-explanatory in its operation.

Yeah, I was just re-reading the first page again (for the third time) and saw that. I do not understand how I missed it. My fault. Thanks.
You can also just rename the file extension that you want to remove/delete. What I do is just rename the file from .apk to .bak. Then I move them all to a folder named system apps on my sd card. That way if I need them in the future I can just move them back to the system folder on the device and just rename it back to .apk. I don't like depending on a program to do it for me, because there have been instances where Titanium has screwed me when restoring a file. Just my opinion and to each their own but it is another alternative. I use Root Explorer to do this. You don't have to move the file either, you can just rename the .apk extension to .bak and just restart your phone and the app will not load.
Regardless be sure to restart your phone so that the apps do not load after making changes.
did i freeze something important?
after i froze everything on the list (on page 1), i rebooted my phone. Now it's stuck on the boot-up animation screen.
Edit: I froze TWLauncher 2.2.1 without using an alternate launcher. Am I screwed?

If you want to get out of the boot screen, I would suggest you start all over. Either reflash the through ODIN, or go into the Samsung factory recovery and wipe user data and wipe cache. For instruction on how to go into recovery on Droid Charge, there's a instruction in Droid Charge Forum in Android Central under the sticky in Charge Rooting, Room and Hacks by DroidXcon.
GB2x
Welcome to my latest creation, eViL's GB2x. It is a fully functional, Gingerbread ROM based on the latest G2x leak.
Features
Stock Unthemed Gingerbread 2.3.3 (GRI40) (V21e.41fdc8a2 - current)
All device hardware should be fully functional, including wifi, bluetooth, camera, camcorder, etc.
Stock GB Rooted Kernel 2.6.32.9 (with Ramdisk optimizations for sdcard read/writes)
Bloatware and unnecessary applications removed. (wifi calling, swype & qik remain)
Market-sourced applications (Gmail, Maps, Voice, Music, etc) automatically installed on first boot into /data/app for easy removal.
Included 3rd party apps (Touch key lights, LG 2x/Black notifications, modded 2x reboot, TI backup, Facebook, Twitter & Flashlight + LED)
Deodexed and zipaligned.
Stock G2x boot animation & modded off animation
Fixed systemui pngs, alternate clock widget, aosp gps.conf, media_profile refinements
Installation
You must be perm rooted with nvflash Clockwork Recovery installed.
Perform a nandroid backup of your current ROM, in case you change your mind or encounter issues.
Apply the zip via ClockWork Recovery. Boot into recovery via Clockwork, wipe ALL and apply zip.
Expect the first boot to take anywhere from 4-8 minutes. The lengthy first boot time is due to the dexopts process and installation of /data/apps. Subsequent reboots should be significantly quicker.
After initial install, allow a few minutes for all ROM-provided applications to appear. Some are installed post-boot using package manager.

is it possible to pump faux's 0.2.3 kernel on this rom?
Does this rom support 720p&1080p recording and decent camera app? IF yes, I will be all over this.

My wife got this phone, so I decided I'd tinker a bit. While this is much closer to complete - it's still a work in progress. That being said, more than enough is done to warrant it being posted.
Let me know if things work, or if any oddities come up. Also feel free to comment on how this might improve or if I've gone about anything in a not-so-smart way.
Usual rules apply - while very much stable in my experience you should be cautious whenever you flash. Make sure to wipe data/factory reset to avoid issues. Flash in CWM recovery.
This does NOT include a kernel - it's just /system, and it's based on the latest UVLF4 2.3.6 stock rom. Also - this is pretty much unthemed. There are a few minor theme-ish things going on (pulldown, dialer), but nothing major by any means.
CWM Installation instructions:
- Backup your current setup/data
- Download file and place on sdcard
- Boot into CWM recovery
- Recommended to wipe data/factory reset in CWM recovery
- Select and install the .zip you put on your sdcard

FAQ
Q: When I first boot up the phone after flashing there is no statusbar...
A: While this doesn't always happen (I actually haven't had the issue yet) - it's just a temporary thing.
A simple reboot will fix it, as will anything that activates the ticker - like connecting your phone to a PC, getting a new text message, installing an app from the play store, etc.
Q: The secure lock delay seems to not adhere to the setting I put it at... what gives?
A: In my experience this DOES work, but it works best when you let the screen time out on its own. The delay bit behaves differently when the screen turns off based on using something like the power button, typically resulting in very short delays. I happen to like this myself.
Q: It seems like I don't have root access anymore... what happened?
A: Well, for those that experienced this issue with version 1.5, my guess is it had something to do with a mismatch in su location and rooted kernel behavior, or possibly a mismatch in supersu verison and su binary. I was never able to recreate the problem, but at least one user who did have the problem said it was fixed with version 1.6.
If you are having problems and are not using the stock kernel - I heartily recommend using the kernel from erikmm's latest darknight build (build 8 as of this posting).
Q: Why are people reporting different boot animations? Did I do something wrong? How do I tell what version I'm running?
A: Tweaked comes with NO kernel - meaning it does not touch what already exists for kernel, modem, etc. Whatever you had prior to flashing is the same as what you have after flashing, meaning if the kernel you had supported custom boot animations that is what you'll see, and if it didn't you'll see the (different) stock one. As far as knowing what version you are running... I suppose I should do something about that, and I will at some future point (already know how I'll do it too...). In the meantime, just look at the changelog and see if you can do or notice some of the things the newest list describes - if not, move down the list I suppose. Not the best workaround, but I've got a plan for what to do with the next update, it'll just take a bit to implement...
Q: Why don't you mention blah blah blah in your FAQ? It would have helped me a lot!
A: My bad - PM me anything you think should be added to this that would be helpful for the general user base!
If I ever get a handle on theme work - maybe screenshots?
If this goes in to a stable release ill be sending a donation your way. This looks REALLY nice.
This looks really nice. Only issue I had was connecting data. I tried to resetting to default apn and it spun searching without any connection. Wifi connected quickly. Also had a couple of acore fc errors. Other than that, the rom looks good. Nice job so far

Thanks for the feedback - logcats would be awesome if you can get them for the acore FCs. Odd that you had data issues, as I did nothing really that would influence how data connects. I take it you were eventually able to connect?

This Rom seems to have some great customization. Has anyone had a chance to test it out? I'm interested to hear if its stable enough for a daily driver?
Lol found the issue - tested it out myself and all seems well. Uploading the fix now. I will update the OP when it's done.
Stupid CSC.apk.
EDIT: Ok, all uploaded. Enjoy!
EDIT2: LOL - found two quick things I forgot, uploading take c now.
EDIT3: Ok - uploaded again. No more changes for a bit - even though I've already started up again w/ Contacts.apk and getting the various lists to play nice w/ the transparent idea...
using this rom since few hours..so far so good. will report error if any!! thanks for the rom
Edit: found an issue- titanium back up or my backup does not work.
flashed this a few hours ago, no issues to report yet, I like the status bar tweaks and the drop down scrolling toggles, I've been jumping back and forth between my jb vibrant and this blaze and I can't wait for a little google love for this one....

I tried this out last night, it was working fine, Titanium Backup worked for me, too. Then I installed setcpu and cpu sleeper then after a reboot I got no signal.

Could you define "not work"? Specifically - is it an issue of root access? I was on the fence on whether to include the 3.0.7 or the 3.1.3 variant of Superuser/su, as others across different phones have reported some issues with the newer iterations. It was a little funny for me as well, but after clearing data in SuperUser and giving it a little time everything seemed fine.

Were there any errors along with this loss of signal? As apps like setcpu are more of a kernel-dependent app - what kernel are you using? None was included in the zip, so it should be whatever you were using prior to flashing. Did you change any settings in either of the apps? Does signal return if you uninstall the apps? What if you reboot again? Are you showing no signal in About Phone > Status?
Will flash now..Will report any issues with a log

Wanted to let you know that today's build seems to work better. I have not had any issues with WIFI or data connection. Good job so far
Flashed this a couple of hours ago. Awesome job! Loving the customization. The only problem I've run into is I get a FC when trying to open lockscreen settings in TSM Parts.
thanks for sharing this.

Quick question for you, is it a know issue with sending pics via text/MMS via WIFI? Message attempts to be sent but a message pops up stating that it will be sent when the network/service is available.

Does this happen on stock? Do you have data on while WiFi is on? I feel like you may have to have data on for that sort of thing, but that discussion was for a different phone and carrier. Do other blaze ROMs not have this issue?
I'm pretty new to the whole gsm/T-Mobile scene (and to ROM tinkering in general really) so those that are more knowledgeable feel free to chime in
Backup + has been made with the aim of being a complete backup and app manipulation program. It is in very early stages of it's development and is for now considered to be an alpha.
HELP WITH TRANSLATIONS, CLICK HERE.
Can backup apps without data for non-rooted devices.
Bugs are to be expected and as an early adapter you are requested to report crashes and force-closes using the built-in bug reporter which appears when the app crashes. You can also mail me with your feature requests, suggestions and ideas. Right now it only has the basic app backup and restore functionality, but expect this app to mature with time.
Just for the sake of clarity regarding the pro version, this app will have multiple in-app purchases for each premium feature, and not just a single pro key. This will allow you to buy just the features you need and avoid paying for the features you don't want. The total worth of all the in-app purchases will still be less than/equal to the pro keys of other backup solutions.

I like the look and feel of the app considering it's only in alpha stage. One bug I have is that anytime I exit the app with the back button and open it again, it checks for root. Not a big deal but a bug nonetheless. Keep up the good work.
My device is a Nexus 5.

@boomer8403 Thank you for your comment. It will definitely be fixed in the next release, I have a lot of good things planned for this app, so stay tuned.
Great app, keep it up.
I see it lists 1 click backup/restore, so on restore does that mean it will do like a batch restore of apps without prompting for each app to install them? And if so will that feature work if your not rooted?
I guess batch restore is limited to root only

Yes, sorry about that, batch restore is available only to rooted users, for non rooted devices, you have to long press on each app and select install.

First off, fantastic app, it's really nice! I have a question for you though, are you considering adding in the ability to have scheduled backups at some point?

Watching with great interest.
Oh wow, great looking app! Bought premium to help support development ?
Love the fact that this app has No Root Backup being that my Note 4 doesn't have root yet. Bought the premium features to support the dev, only feature I see missing is scheduled backups. Wish this was around when I switched from the G3 to the Note 4. Been using TB for years and happy to replace it, I'm an out with the old in with the new type guy.

Thank you for the support, scheduled backup is the next feature on the list, Cloud backup will follow.
Good to know that there is a Dev who likes to have the material design in backup apps, was requesting this UI redesign for TiBU since a long time and no one heard, Trying it, one quick question though, does it backup on external Sdcard?
Thanks (already pressed the button) :good:
