Hello!
I was wondering if any of you could point me towards an app that supports group Voice-chat on Android?
I have a PS3 and play online games with my friends quite often, but the incapable boys and girls at Sony still haven't provided a cross-game Voice Chat utility (and at this point I doubt that it'll ever come). But anyway, I have been using Skype with a friend for some time now (just plug in our headsets, turn on WiFi and off we go), but as more and more friends start joining the Android and PS3-family, I'd like to be able to add more people to a voicechat on my Galaxy S...
I couldn't find any app that supports this, but maybe you guys know of an app that supports this?
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
I am trying to develop an app that can support video chat on Android. I am looking for an API for the same.
I have tried skypekit but have been facing issues with building the libSkypekit.so library.(I tried the same for about a week with no luck)
I was looking at OpenTok API and that seems like a viable solution. I need to develop a native app since I need to be able to add other tasks to the app as well. Has anyone implemented this before?
Also, what would be the licensing fees to put such an app out in the Market?
Are there any other APIs(Free or paid) available for Video chat on Android?
I would really appreciate any help.
Regards,
Sheshambika
Hi everyone,
As many of you would have known, despite USB Host functionality being present in ICS, USB DACs have yet to be supported on our devices. This issue has also been starred by more than a thousand people on Google's site but still has not been noticed. (Link here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=24614&sort=-stars&colspec=ID%20Type%20Status%20Owner%20Summary%20Stars)
Quoting a fellow XDA member: If Google did their work then we could use relatively cheap USB DACs with our Android phones and enjoy great music sound quality, no matter which cheap DAC/DSP the manufacturer has seen fit to include. Now with ICS this is a simple software fix, which makes it all the more irritating (someone has managed to add support for these in a Nook Colour kernel that works with CM9).
Right now, we can bring it up to a real Google Engineer while they visit my school (I have no idea how my school manages to be on such good terms with Google). All you need to do is help to vote this issue up so it gets the first pirioty to be asked. Perhaps then, we will get a chance to put the spotlight on our issue.

Please vote this up and share this out to your social networks. Lets make Android a even better operating system for all!
Quick update: Since this was posted it has risen in priority!
Please continue to give your support so our issue will be answered! (And remember to tell your friends to help too!)
Bumping this thread up!
Please continue to give your support on this issue! (And of course, remember to tell your friends to help too!)
Can I give it more than one vote? haha ):
It would be nice to have DAC/AMP support on Android by default.
Hi buddy,
thank you for the information and discussion! I'm more of a business head than engineering but I am a lossless guy who loves his media players. Can you tell us more about what kind of things would be possible if Google enables this support?
Hi guys, I love XDA and there is alot of talent circling it so I wanted to bring these question to you guys.
How does one go about building a VOIP app for Android?, Are the calls free for the creator?(as in money is spent on development not on calls made my other users), How do those VOIP apps currently in the playstore allow you to register a new unused US phone number and how could I implement it to the application.
I appreciate you reading this and an answer if you can.
Btw I am asking because I want to bring really cheap calling through the use of VOIP to a 3rd world country as their current rates are outrageous.
Hi all,
Been searching for a while and can't seem to find a relevant thread that matches my question. Im looking for or hoping to join a gaming team with a voice chat feature such as team speak were players communicate with one and other. Im always playing games such as MC4, NOVA 3 etc. but they all seem boring with no form of player communication.
Can someone point me in the right direction as per my question?

Hello everyone, i am wondering how i can make an app that can connect to a website via messages, notifications and basic stuff that only the app offers compared like how the Facebook app works in comparison to the actual website. i have no experience in making an app as complex as this is so im wondering if there is some sort of template or automatic system that can help me build the app but also connect to the blog/forum so Users can access the forum easier from their hand held devices which will bring a lot more of the community in.... Actually i have seen your app for this forum, and i need to make something similar for a forum that im helping out, as i am a member to this forum and came up with the idea of making an app. where do i even start?
it would be even better if some one could develop an app for me, of course you'd be getting all the credit
