[Q] Auto rotation! HTC Aria - HTC Aria Android Development

Help! I'm new to XDA, and hope you guys can help me. I rooted and installed the attn1's froyo rom, but the auto rotation is either too sensitive or like broken. please help!

Try recalibrating the G sensor or turn off auto rotate.

Yeah... I miss the winmo phones with the ability to dictate what rotates and would love to see an app that does that. I use "Rotation Toggler" which is a free app from market that can disable the rotation by pressing and holding the search button. Comes in handy. Would be nice if this feature were built into the rom, but eh...

Thanks!

It is, cyanogen user settings I believe. It isn't a quick toggle but disables certain degrees you tilt the phone.

i've been having this problem with almost all the keylock applications i've installed!
the display keeps on getting activated by itself and refuses to go into sleep mode! and if it goes into sleep mode, i'll have overlap lock screen which consist of the stock lock from X10 and the lock app i've installed..
was wondering whether any of the users here facing the same problem or not and if so, how am i suppose to get rid of the problem?

When you say activated by itself, do u mean u haven't touched any buttons (even accidentally) ?

will try it again with task killer disabled..
if its LockBot you are using its a known issue on the X10, if not using LockBot chances are its the same issue as you get with lockbot were you end up with multiple lock screens.
I use goto v1.20 Now and this is the first lock which actually is usable on the x10.
With lock bot I had the problem I couldn't use the notification bar anymore and with others I had double lock screens which is annoying as hell...

Tasker - A great App

Hi all,
Just came across this app and think its fantastic and so wanted to let you all know about it, don't want to start a new thread as such so here are some links:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=742047
http://tasker.dinglisch.net/
It allows you to create tasks depending on certain actions that happen in your phone...
Tried it, very powerful. But i have to say i prefer "setting profiles". It might lack some of the options of tasker, but is a lot more user-friendly.
I automated turning on wi-fi and sounds when i get home, go silent and turn bt and wi-fi off at work, and turn on bt, gps, sounds and navigon with a single button when i get into my car.

Yup, I just got it like 2 days ago, now my x10 is a super smart phone. Fantastic app!

Is anyone having problems with this app under X10 Gingerbread? I've tried it with stock Gingerbread and MIUI, and tasker does not execute the tasks, although it sure thinks it does.

Hi
This is an Auto Screen Locker program which rely on Proximity Sensor.

This program can prevent pressing buttons when you put your cell phone in the pocket
Note:What if
Can't unlock?
restart your phone or give your phone a call.
Can't uninstall?
You have to stop this program by uncheck the first checkbox("Use sensor depended locker") before uninstall this program.
in newer version, you can uninstall the program from the menu of this program!
Not working?
Make sure your phone's system is Froyo or above.
if you restart your cell phone, please run the program again.
I upload a clip about how to use this screen lock on youtube
Any feedbacks?
thanks for tha app
Just testing now... seems to work fine and doesn't lock the screen when on a call which was the only thing I was concerned about...
Only thing left to test is battery life..
Good app..

It is programed not to lock screen when a call is incoming, otherwise it will lock the screen and you will miss that call.
But , anyway, your idea maybe useful to prevent using cell phones when driving.
So,if you still think that lock the screen when a call is incoming is necessary, I can add a check box for that function.

I think you misunderstand me... what I meant was that I was worried that this app would lock the screen when I am on a call which would be inconvenient...
I am happy that it does not do this and was just commenting on this in case anyone else was wondering this...
Great app, no changes necessary as far as I can see..

I just noticed something...
After a restart the background service does not start automatically for me...I have to go into the app and then the service starts... dunno if that is just me..
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
... also is there any way that you can make the sensitivity even less? I've got the sensitivity slider all the way to the right but I still find it a little too sensitive..

I've just noticed that you mentioned in your post that the app needs to be run again after a restart so ignore my previous comment about that issue..

Sorry for that, I actually didn't add auto-start feature to this program. I will add it in next version.
It's not a big deal really...
Loving the app by the way

Hmmm.. just checked and I'm getting massive partial wake lock with pox locker so I'm disabling it for now... hope you can resolve that issue..

Brilliant app, this is just what I've been looking for!
I think every phone should come with something like this, and if battery wasn't such a concern with smart phones, it'd be awesome to have the reverse work too, and the phone turn on when nothing is sensed.
I've only been using for a little while, I'll let you know how it affects my battery after a few days.
Edit: I thought it wasn't locking the keys, but that was another program I started using together with it - No Lock

I would like it to be less sensitive as well. I have a dell streak and it locks my phone while typing on the keyboard.
Besides that it's a great app!
Try the newer version
Please try the newer version.
I add a lot of preference feature into the newer version.

PoxLocker3.apk is the newer version.
in the newer version
you can set the program auto start
you can select lock delay time (how long you block the sensor)
you can select third party screen lockers
in the menu:
you can setup a white list(when the program selected in the list is running, sensor lock will not working, but the onekeylock still works)
you can easly uninstall the software
OneKeyLock.apk is a program which can call the service of PoxLocker to directly lock screen
Just tried your app. It's really great and works wonders. I do, however, find it to be too sensitive even when I set it at the least sensitive level. Maybe you could change it to be even less sensitive or make the sensor detect an object at an even closer distance if possible. Pox Locker paired with No Lock is truly a godsend.
poxlocker3 still gives me massive partial wake lock..no wonder my batt has been draining like nobody's business.. even though i ticked the 'turn off sensor after lock' option..
I've uninstalled it...

LG Optimus S/auto rotate issue

My phone stopped auto rotating for me which kind of makes things harder when I'm trying to send a fast SMS or something.
I've refreshed the settings through 2 apps and the phone settings menu. Its also not auto rotating for any of my keyboards.
Does anyone know how one might resolve this issue?

You must reinstall the rom, or just check the auto rotating option in the settings.

EVO 4G leds

theres an app for that
Do you know what its called I tried the Wimax already didn't work
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
I'd like to know also.
Wimax Notifier is the only app I know of that allows this and it can be hit or miss on some roms and even work on the same rom for one person but not another, which may just be setting related I had trouble with it after disabling led notifications I never use the leds anymore anyways tbh

i use an app called lightflow lite (theres a paid version)...its a bit complicated in the sense that it gives you total control over your leds once you given accessibility in your setting and hit direct mode(i think) in the app itself...after you give it the proper access to your phone you get control over both lights and when and how they blink for any kind of situation...you need to turn off any led notification from other apps that use the lights...in a nut shell you can use this app to control the blinking, color, and speed of the lights...you can also set it up for specific contacts...hope this helps

That app doesnt work on most roms i have tried it on. if anyone knows how to get it working keep us posted
I got it to work with the Wimax notification app I use go sms so i checked the box to disable all other messaging services and at first it wasn't working I had to go in and uncheck the box for disable other messaging apps and it now works hope this helps...
