[Q] VPN doesn't work for ROM CM6.2.0? - G1 Android Development

I am trying to setup an PPTP VPN connection from my android phone (2.2.1 CM 6.2.0) to a PC. But it always saying incorrect username or password. But I tried the same setting on another phone with Android 1.6, it works. How to fix this problem?
Thanks!

Never heard about the version
cyanogenmod's dev. was up to 6.1RC1, then some nightly builds released.
where did you source "CM6.2"? from the forum "anshouji"?
never heard about the relationship between "anshouji" and CM actually

I got the newest version of CM's source code and built by myself. The phone info shows 'version 6.2.0'.
Any idea on how to fix the problem?

[Q] CM7.2.0 Question

I'm wondering about the CM7.2.0 nightly KANG builds, unlike some of the prebuilt versions of CM7 for this device, do these builds have access to setting up google accounts?
I had tried a build before, but could not use the market because I did not have an account set up, yet under the settings menu, there was no way to set up a google account.
The build(s) I am referring to are found here.
Thanks,

did you install gapps
You need to install GAPPS.
The link it right underneath the latest build.
You flash GAPPS after you flash CM7.
That brings up another strange problem I've never had before (that I've only see occur when I had flashed a previous version of this rom).
When I boot into recovery (at least in the previous build posted) and attempted to install the .zip like any other one I would, it would not be listed. CWM Recovery acted like it was not there at all, it completely ignored it. Is this something anyone else has dealt with?
Thanks again

--EDIT--
And just so we're on the same page, that was after an initial download, and a re-download of the GAPPS file, so it wasn't a corrupt download (unless the file indeed was corrupt and hosted as such).
Alright, to adress the semi-old message, I did flash the newer version of the ROM, and it seemed to work, must have had a bad flash before.
Anyway, new problem that I'm not going to bother dealing with (I've already gone to the ZEUS ROM), is that every version of CM I try for the Infuse, seems to go to a crawl with web browsing. And yes, I've tried the APN fix. I think it's something to do with whatever version of a wifi driver the phone uses on CM.

[Q] CyanogenMod and encryption (phone switches off after entering password)

I installed a few of the latest CyanogenMod 11 nightlys and tried to encrypt the phone. There is no error message. The problem that I have is after I enter the decryption password when the phone starts up, a green android robot appears for a second before the phone switches off.
Has anyone else had this problem, or know how to resolve it? I am using CWM and am rooted.
I can confirm this behavior. On my XT1034 using Cyanogenmod 11.0 M5 I experienced the same results as Dark Darth. I used TWRP 2.6.3.3-falcon for the test. This bug is not listed in the "known issues" page for the ROM: "Known_Issues_page_for_falcon"
Here are some others who have had the same problem: "88973-moto-g-cm11-encryption-failed"
(Sorry, I can't post outside links. Just do a search for the quoted terms above to get the pages I'm referencing.)
How are bug reports filed? Is dhacker29 aware of this issue?
As far as I know there is no way to get encryption working on Cyanogenmod on the Moto G at the moment.
I already filed a bug for this with CyanogenMod devs: CYAN-4532. Please consider voting for this issue so it gets more visible - just google the Bug ID.
The bug report got assigned to dhacker29, so I guess he should already know about it.

[Q] MAC address changes every boot

I have CM12 & AK Kernel installed.
My mac address changes every time I boot the device. DHCP server is not very happy with that behavior. Anyone else having similar problem? And this is not only One problem, also Z2 tablet and Nexus 10 (both with CM12) does the same.
Is this cm12 problem or what?

WiFi disconnects before I can log in (Public WiFi)

OPO running CM14
My WiFi works perfectly fine at home. But when I am at school and*try to connect to their guest WiFi network, it has issues. I select the network in settings. It connects. Then I go to do the web login and before it can load it disconnects the*WiFi.
What I've tried:
Putting my phone in airplane mode while connecting
I turned off captive portal detection
I've tried a few "WiFi fix" apps
I've tried switching to static IP and it doesn't change anything
Restarting several times
Resetting network settings
I'll also note that it did this*before I flashed CM14 when I was on Sultan's CM13. I wiped everything except internal*storage which makes me wonder if I might have some kind of certificate installed*or something like that.
I do have aggressive WiFi handover off
Your problem is your running a very unstable CM14. NEVER run CM14 until the official snaphot cyanogenmod 14 build from the cyanogenmod website is available

I was having the issue when I was on Sultan's CM13 though too. Do you think I should try doing a complete wipe (including internal memory) and flash a more stable rom?

Just installed Pixel Experience on my Mi 8 and it asks mandatory domain in my uni Wifi

Hey guys, help me out. I can't connect to my university Wifi because phone requires CA certificate and when I say do not verify it asks for Domain and I don't know what it is so I can't join the wifi network and get wifi Authentation problem if I try typing in something random in Domain section. I never experienced an issue like this before and internet search yields very unpromising results.
https://support.google.com/pixelpho...twork-is-wpa3-and-doesn-t-need-a-domain?hl=en In here it says there is no solution.
Should I restore to MIUI from my TWRP backup. It took hours to get here and this is such a f you moment to me since I can't download all of my missing apps and backups with my mobile data. Please tell me if there is a way to bypass this, I can probably root the phone while I am at it if it is required.
If you have a laptop or PC closeby with WIFI (or another phone) maybe creating an WIFI hotspot helps?

I can actually do that but I need the uni wifi connection eventually. The "feature" is seems to be forced by Google at 12 version. So I will just load 11 plus edition if I can't find a way. BTW my TWRP is completely broken now and always gets stuck at splash screen whatever I do I couldn't get it to open. PE recovery seems to be working fine though so I will just install 11th version from there.
I think the issue seems to be related to this
PSA: Android 11 will no longer let you insecurely connect to enterprise WiFi networks
The Android 11 update will break connecting to certain enterprise WiFi networks. Here's why and what you can do to fix it.

So I think downgrading to Android 11 won't work either, but worth a try
Maybe try asking someone who manages your universities network? (Like a systemadmin?)
(Anyone correct me if I'm wrong I don't know the most about CA certificates)

Yep that is the source of my problem. I never had that issue with the latest MIUI version though. IDK about the system admin. I guess I will open a ticket about it on schools website.
