Sorry i will make an question in spanish
Cuando instalas el custom recovery ¿?¿?
A mi no me funciona al reiniciar, se queda la pantalla en negro.
O quizas sigues estos pasos:
1º Restaurar el nandroid
2º Las gapps
3º El boot 2.2

Do I understand correctly that I flash in RSD the 2.2.sbf and then I go to recovery to install this zip?
Doesn't RSD boot the phone and I won't have Clockwork mod anymore to use the zip?

1. Restore the 2.2 nandroid.
2. Wipe data.
3. Apply this update.zip.
4. Flash using RSDlite.

Worked a treat for me!
The steps i carried out were as follows:
Installed the droid.zip using clockwork mode recovery.
Flashed the boot file with rsdlite.dy
copied system recovery .apk file and the google app .zip file to root of sdcard
reinstalled system recovery from sdcard, after installing recovery, entered recovery mode, installed update from .zip file all works fine.
Worth mentioning, after installing this the market app is also now present and working too.
Many thanks!
Andy

[ROM] [OFFICIAL] [JB 4.2.1] Hisense HS-U980 [MT6589]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is for Hisense HS-U980
and sometimes called Hisense Infinity Pure 1
Phone specs can be found here: http://www.hisense.co.za/mobile/u980
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: PLEASE UNZIP/EXTRACT BEFORE TRYING TO INSTALL THEM !
Hello everyone,
I've been a user of this powerful and cheap android for quite a while now,
I once made a thread looking for custom ROMs for it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/request-custom-rom-hs-u980-helpfull-t2825786
But after getting used to it, it was and still is a great ROM and android version.
But seems that quite some people are looking for HS-U980 ROM so that they can repair their bricked phone, but no one provided.
So, that's what I'm here for.
(This is the first time for me backing up a ROM, I thought it will take me some time and effort, but it was really easy. My phone is ROOTED, so I guess my ROM saved the ROOT. I only did a factory reset and checked the root is there, and saved the ROM)
The ROM is made to work on TWRP or CWM and I put the whole folder in a ZIP file.
TWRP ZIP file size: ~600 MB
Size after extraction: ~920 MB
CWM ZIP file size: ~440 MB
Size after extraction: ~720 MB
TWRP ROM link (MEGA): https://mega.nz/#!BUpiRLAT!ICol0akNciVvUbNbl1AD6nJcS6p2T2jz9OZxro_97ZE
CWM ROM Link (MEGA): https://mega.nz/#!tFRQhYAI!DkszoHn6n97XyzTcswWEoZE2MRpmeM5R2UKVXj7GYYs
Please leave your feedback and comments.
Enjoy!
P.S: MobileUncle Tools from Google Play seems to have an "Update tool" in it, for flashing using SD card.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobileuncle.toolbox&hl=en
First of all, thanks for the ROM.
But how do you manage to install CWM on a hisense U980? I can't find any way to do that, the only custom recovery that I found was a chinese version of TWRP.
I guess the only way to flash that rom is using the backup/restore function on CWM. Am I correct? Can you help me?
Thanks in advance.
Regards.

Hi there,
You are welcome. Actually I didn't install CWM on my phone, I just made a Nandroid backup for it using other software.
But I can help you in your case.
Since you have TWRP, I can make a Nandroid for TWRP if you want so?
And btw, on my other thread -mentioned earlier- someone posted some info on installing CWM on HS-U980. You can do this, or wait for my TWRP backup, which is due in a couple of days. -I'm traveling right now and will be home soon-.

The pictures disappear from phone. Or i cannot see them after a reboot, they corrupt.

Did you "UNZIP" before trying to install them ??
I did mention that I zipped both files, so you should unzip/extract them before trying to install them.
Please do so, and then reply back on what happens. Good luck.
Does this rom suit QUALCOMM SNAPDRAGON processors?
Hi
is it suitable for Qualcomm snapdragon processors?
HOW to install it?
qualcom snapdragon flashtool (not mediatek) is soooo difficult and new for me.

I wish I can answer your question but I can't. Never flashed on this phone. Just backed it up. I hope someone can help you.
However, please check this thread

I believe people discussed flashing tools for this phone in there.

Im not a fool, but a Stubborn android dummie that is kicking his head against the glass again and again, after 18h of trying, not solving. Not even advanced users can help me. For now.
Thanks for the link.
Now I learned that HS U98 is Snapdragon vs HS U980 which is MTK (two different processors, ergo...diff. roms)
thanks.
