Anyone know if this works with 2.1? Or is anyone using this?

I used it on my hero and loved it, have not installed it to my evo. The app writes to /system, something that is impossible to do at the moment. So we have to wait this one out.

awesome, thanks
toasts doesn't have write access to /system?
little more on this is that it may take a kernel rewrite to get it going. Thats the only way they got it working on the Nexus and it seems our files are similar to theirs. So once we get source I'll defly be looking into that!
Really? The EVO's ring isnt loud enough for you? I was very satisfied.
Really..
Frankly for me the volume has sucked in every HTC phone I have used IMHO. I mean its not horrible or unusable for me or anything..I would like what the max is now to be about the middle..My notifications mostly is what I would like louder.
The speaker phone isnt that great either but ive used HTC phones long enough to be used to it.
Bump. I would really appreciate more info on this, the alarm tones are not loud enough to wake me up. Thanks.

No ROM has write access to /system from within Android. Currently, the only way to do that is through toast's custom recovery.

I've found the audio quality to suck on the EVO... there is a big difference in audio quality between the EVO and the iPhone... it just sounds flat to me. And even with the volumne all the way up it was barely loud enough to hear over a lawn mower.

I have full root (Yay Toast!!) now so I tried volume hack 3.6. I backed up my stock files first and then tried the 3.6 + everything mode, but it doesn't seem to work...unless the difference is not that dramatic. I also tried the 3.3 files, but same thing.
Anyway, the app indicates it doesn't work on the Nexus and several others so maybe the Evo is included in that. Give a try and let me know if it works for you.
Crap I hope someone works this out. The fm app is really low when on speaker
Retracted.... Headphones didn't work either. Bummer.
Um...wow, this worked awesome for the headphones! Three bars up from mute is about the same as stock at max.

Hey everyone,
If you know anything about Voodoo sound, then you know that it is amazing on the Galaxy S phones.
Well our man Supercurio Made this amazing app that does not rely on a modified Kernel.
It does cost $2. But is well worth supporting his hard work for.
Here ///https://market.android.com/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.controlappdonate&feature=search_result
Ok ordered it and hopefully I am able to make it sound great like I had it on my NS b4!!
Just picked it up myself as well.
Wow that's amazing. Well worth the $2.
Whatta difference i will say!! it is definitely worth the couple of bucks

Question
Being the Noob android user that I am, I have a question. I'm a bit confused if I need anything special on my phone to use this app. My phone is rooted which I believe was one pre-requisite. I would love to help the developer by purchasing this, but want to make sure I'm able to actually use it Being I know nothing yet about sound that came with my device I figured I would ask here first.

All you need is rooted device. If you plug in your headphones and listen to it normally.
Then get this app and enable it. Listen again with it enabled. The sound is way better and can get much louder. Really be careful not to go to loud or you will hurt your ears. ;-)

Does this help with in call volume?
One of the other things to remember. It really helps with recording videos in loud environments.
I have tried to record at concerts and my videos have turned out horribly due to the sound. I tested it out today with the Recording setting on in my car with music blaring and it was amazing how well the audio sounded compared to without this setting on.
#1. I use an FM transmitter from my phone jack to radio, so it improves the sound tremendously.
#2. I record at concerts and this will greatly improve the audio for those videos, it's like night and day.

I know it's a stretch, but can someone post audio samples of BEFORE and AFTER this app?
I stream Pandora from my phone to my car stereo, will it improve the sound that much more?

It's probably hard to tell the difference here. This is only for recording volumes. I did this test as a way to see the difference. I video alot of concerts and the past videos have sucked for audio.
With Voodoo Control Plus (High Quality audio feature checked)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sdLjx9L9W8
Without Voodoo Control Plus
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxKdHhnJgnw
In regards to does it improve the sounds? Yes it does. I use the pandora and the amazon cloud player on my device via an FM transmitter to my car's stereo. Not only can you boost the volume, but it improves the quality of the sound too.
It's definitely worth the 2 bucks in my opinion, if not for the improvements of sound level and quality, then for the ability to record videos in loud environments without it being garbled.

They will remain the same and each time you reboot if you have it set up to load up after reboot and it will keep the same settings
Just a heads up.

I have a pair of Klipsch S5i (I realize these are the iPhone edition, but worked fine with my Rezound) that I am trying to use with the S3. They do work but when I try to make a call I have to unplug then replug in after I dial. If I make a call with them already plugged in the phone uses speakerphone rather than headset.
Any ideas? Any suggestions for other "high quality" earbuds that also have microphone?
That is strange. While I do not have any suggestions...My iBeats that came with my Rezound work fine on my S3 on stock rom and CM10 now.
What rom are you on?

Yeah I haven't really spent much on headphones before so my iBeats work for me!
I have a feeling it is because of the product being developed for the iPhone. Can't think of any other reason these wouldn't work.

UGH! I am having the exact same problem. I have two pairs of phones: s4is and the E2s. Neither works to make calls. I can't hear sound in the phones, and the mic is not supported. I pray this is a joke. How on earth can every other Android phone work with these? I just sold a 4s to get the GS3, and I'm already regretting it. My G2x worked fine with these phones. I use Headphone Controller to manipulate the function of the headphones for use with PlayerPro, but I can't figure out a thing about getting these to work for calling. I am definitely selling this GS3 if I can't figure this out.
Totally frustrating experience. First it was the stock mail app not supporting Exchange sub-folders, and not this. Grrrr. Any solution to the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Yes.
But get yourself a good set of earphones, and it's great.
If you want great speakers, buy a Xperia Play
But yeah, they're pretty bad.
Try installing beats audio installer app from the play market. There's a huge difference when you use earphones. Get the free version because the pro version might not work.

well, the phone has 3 speaker devices so wich are you refering to? the actual speaker, the ear speaker (reciever) or the microphone?
as said the speaker is pretty bad, but I think that isn't a focus point for manufacturors anymore ( I used to have a Nokia with stereo speaker system )
The reciever sounds good most of the time in my opinion. And the mic, well, can't really judge that. haven't hear anyone complain about low volume calls from my part. The review sais otherwise though, I can't confirm that.

This is going to sound kind of dumb, but make sure your pinky finger is not covering the microphone on the bottom. I've had people tell me they have this exact problem with the Galaxy S5 only to discover that the user is holding the phone in a manner that places the pinky finger over the microphone. T-Mobile support sent one user FIVE different phones. Same problem each time (the receiver can't hear anything but the caller can hear the receiver fine). I overhear the user complaining about "Crappy T-Mobile" and ask him to call me while I'm watching him. Sure enough, I can't hear him. I reach over, move his pinky finger, and the call is perfect.
With this new gen voice calls are dreadful. Quality is horrible I can bearly here the other person sometimes. Depending on the area but still I turned VoLTE off.
