[Q] Pocket Blu no longer available? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was looking for pocket blu on the market to use for digital copies of blu rays, but I can't find it. Is it still there someone and hidden from Nexus S owners?
The Pocket Blu website says it should be there.

Yes, Pocket Blu is still available, and yes, it's hidden from Nexus S owners.
Pocket Blu is apparently a "protected" app, and Google has screwed up by not updating the Market to recognize our phones as a legitimate phone, so "protected" apps aren't visible to us in the Market.
There's several way around this, search the forums here in the Nexus S sections, we've got a few threads discussing this and how to get around it already, no need to start a new one.

Pioneer dreambook

Has anyone hacked the dreambook from pioneer?
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
I'm wondering this as well, I got one not long ago and its pretty useless at the moment. Athough it is inexpensive, I might just try messing around with it. Its basically a paper weight for me while its working so I dont really care.
I have also got one of these. After lots of Googling I have found that they are made by Shuttle (the maker of the mini PCs) under the base name "P10AN01"
There is another P10AN01 device called the "Advent Vega" sold in the UK. There is quite a lot of information available if you search for Advent Vega.
There are updates etc available at myadventvega, (Google myadventvega - it is a UK site) For hacks Google "Advent-Vega" +Andoid +modaco.
I have not tried any of these as I am an absolute newbie. I would be very interested to hear if this helps.

[Q] android connectivity with iPad? (use android as remote?)

I have the HTC G2 (Desire Z) on t-mobile. I just purchased a 32GB iPad 2 last week and am waiting for it to arrive soon. I want to use it's video out features a lot with my TV and I also have an apple bluetooth keyboard for typing and stuff.
My main question is are there any apps that allow an android phone to be used as a remote or mouse for the iPad??
Just any apps that allow android and iOS to play nice together would be great to know about. (and I'm not really asking about games, more so productivity apps or remote control type apps) Thanks!
p.s. Please no fanboy/troll comments please. I seriously am just trying to get the most out of what I have purchased. I love android and I love the iPad 2, and I would love some input on making them play nice together as I can't find anything online besides tablet comparisons
Just found this:
http://phandroid.com/2011/05/05/access-your-android-phone-from-your-browser-using-lazydroid/
I'm thinking using it to browse your phone on the ipad? Could work? Havnt tried it as I haven't received my ipad yet. But I think its worth a look.

help needed: nokia drive on HTC 7 Pro? How to unlock the HTC 7 Pro?

I "re-animated" my HTC 7 Pro by replacing the digitizer and upgrading the internal memory.
It worked and the phone is just great with its keyboard.
After my HTC 7 Pro broke some months ago, I bought a Lumia 800. Great phone but I miss the keyboard, that's why I tried now to repair the old HTC 7 Pro.
What I really like with my Lumia is the NOKIA drive - just perfect, but the phone has only a poor battery life when doing the traffic navigation.
The HTC 7 Pro has a better battery, that's why I would like to use if for traffic navigation.
Is there any way to install NOKIA drive on a HTC 7 Pro?
It is a standard (Swiss) HTC 7 Pro, unlocked (all sim cards work) and it has all HTC updates.
Do I need to root the phone? How does this work?
I would like to keep the operating system like it is (it works great) - thus, is there any chance to convince the phone to install the NOKIA drive app?
I am a nweby with all this flashing/rooting/... stuff. Any information, background knowledge, guide (for the HTC 7 Pro) would be really great!
Thank you in advance!
Best,
Peter
Using dev-unlock, you could install the Nokia Marketplace XAP (see my signature) but the Nokia Drive app, although you could install it, would refuse to run on your non-Nokia phone. With full-unlock (i.e. custom ROM) you could either trick it into running (I don't know if this is safe, but it's possible) or install a modified version of the app (which is technically illegal in much of the world but pretty common), though.

i dont get it, it must be because i m a newb. i read news saying nokia drive is now opened to other windows phone 7. i just downloaded the nokia drive 3.0.0.0.xap (although no idea yet what to do with it .
i also read that availability on windows phone will depend on phone maker decision.
could you please be more specific about "tricking it into running", or how to get and obtain a modified version of the app?
i m very surprised that i did not find more threads about installing this very good app on our pro 7

Did you have a llok at the forum for HTC 7 Pro?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1086
Here you can find Dynamics rom 2.0 with nokia counter app working and wp7.8.
You should also find info about how to unlock your device.

[Q] apps incompatible only on one of two identical devices

For Christmas, I purchased two 7" Nextbook tablets. One went to my wife, and the other to my daughter. Google Play identifies both as "YIFANG NX007HD". My daughter got hers first. I quickly noticed a large number of apps show up as "incompatible with your device" on it. Common apps like Angry Birds, Wal-Mart, & Chrome. (Even though Chrome came installed on the device)
However, when we set up my wife's tablet, all these same apps show up as compatible, and install from Play just fine. I'm hoping to solve this mystery and hopefully get my daughter's tablet to work the same on the Play Store as my wife's. They are (or seem to be) identical after all, there must be a reason.
I don't know if the following has any bearing on the issue, but if so perhaps someone can tell me. We reside in the United States, but my daughter's google account uses an email address with the .in TLD. Her account also has no payment method set up.
If I had had more time with her, I would have liked to have swapped accounts on the two devices to determine for certain whether the issue was account related or device related. But I won't get a chance to troubleshoot until I see her again in the spring. Also, just to be clear, I don't need info on sideloading APKs. I'm just looking for reasons that only one of these two identical tablets would show so many "incompatible with your device" apps on the Play Store, while working fine on the second.

If you're willing to root, xposed has a module that removes that limitation. If not, I think it might be a software glitch. Bring it to the service centre to check it out.
Smack that thanks button if I helped!
Note 2 LTE powered by Illusion ROM and Plasma Kernel.
Sent from dat small country called Singapore.
Unfortunately the guys of Yifang / Nextbook / e-Fun are complete ass***holes.
They I've made a couple (or three?) identical devices, M7000 (silver back) / M7002 (black back) & M7000NBD (silver back), with complete different chips, two first driven by RK3066 (1.6Gz) and third one by AML8726-MXS (1.5Gz).
More than that in the site of Nextbook they promote some Nextbook Premium7HD (silver back) and they didn't mention speed processor or chip inside. This device are also branded as NX007HD & NX007HD8G.
From commercial point of view they just released the one they have in stock.
From user point of view a total mess!!! People is mounting Rockchip stuff in AMLogic devices and vice-verse.
Lots of users with their devices bricked... not all the users have the knowledge to notice the internal difference.
The worse part of it is that this device are cheap and really good.
I love Yifang devices... but IMHO this Chinese guys have gone too far doing this chitty tricks.

Lemfo lf16 smart watch

Hi,
New to the forum so not sure exactly where to post this. I recently bought a Lemfo lf16 watch and it seems pretty good as standard but seen a few videos and links of other smart watches that can have firmware upgraded etc and was wondering if anyone knew of any good upgrades for this watch. Also trying to find a good app for golf GPS for the watch of anyone knows of any. Nearly all the apps on play store require the watch to be running Android wear which I believed this was when purchased but turns out it isn't. Is it possible to put Android wear onto the watch or is it more complicated than just trying to download software to it?
Thanks
