Works with rods miui too

can i flash w/o wiping?

You may find you need to wipe cache and dalvik cache but no need to do a full wipe. You need to either freeze "market updater" using titanium backup or rename it in root explorer (system/apps) also delete the current market app which is listed as "vending" if you want a different version. The just flash the market version you want then run it and finally flash the colour mod you want

[Q] Quick question about fission themes

Alright so I've been looking around and some people have said to wipe all days when just installing a theme when one if already installed. Sim say to only wipe certain data and yet others say nothing is required. I have the fission 2.3 gingerbread theme on fission 2.4 and want to run a theme for 2.4. What should I do?
The easy way is to use Fission ROM Manager and install the straight Fission ROM over whatever theme, then intsall which ever theme you wish to switch too... This works great for me.
Another way is to reboot into clockworkmod go into backup and restore, then advanced, then choose a nandroid back up of the stock ROM, then select restore system. This takes long but will take most if not all of whatever theme you have installed.
Good luck, post if you have trouble.

Revolver ROM OTA updating and overclocking

I am loving my Revolver 3.0, but I really do not want to have to restart when I install 3.2. I have so many modifications, apps and such that I want all to be setup when I upgrade. I know OTA updating is available but I just need a quick run down on how to do such things. So essentially I just wanna be able to upgrade to 3.2 without having to re-install and re-setup everything. Lastly, with Revolver, will the ROM allow me to overclock using SetCPU with its native Kernel.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

as far as i remember, the OTA update dont wipe your data (but wait for more replys)
anyway , u can download Titanium backup , to backup the apps and data
about the OC, i use the revolver 3.2 , with clemsyn kernel OC to 1.4Gh , work flawlessly
Download latest Revolver Parts app from market, download 3.2 update, reboot into recovery (clockworkmod), make a NAND backup if you wish, clear cache and dalvik cache if you want, and flash 3.2 from sd zip. It won't erase your settings. Just flash over it, you'll be fine. Reboot. I do this every other day, i feel like.

Uninstall of installed apps

Hi,
Sorry if my question has already been posted but I've not found any answer on the forum.
I recently installed a battery mod on my desire s with Virtuous Affinity 2.05.
I'm not really satisfied of the result so i'd like to return to the stock battery of my rom.
How can i uninstall this mod that i've installed ?
Thanks
If the mod is installed as a normal APK you can find it in Menu - Settings - Apps...and uninstall it from there.
If it was a ZIP file that you've flashed in recovery you can either restore a previous backup (that you should have made before flashing) or, in case you don't have a backup, reflash Virtuous Affinity without full wipe, just clear cache and dalvik. Any mod that's not part of the ROM should be replaced with the default Virtuous one. Programs, settings and other user data will be preserved. Make though a backup, just to be on the safe side.
you can also check on the page from where you got the mod if there's an unistall procedure
It was a ZIP file that i flashed in recovery but i did my backup after having installed the battery Mod.
The procedure that you described (cache wipe and dalvik wipe) works perfectly.
Thank you very much Rapier, that wil help me a lot in the future.

Revolver ---> ICS

I have revolver with CWM and root. I was hoping for a quick way to flash to ICS without losing all my stuff. I also put on blades oc kernel.
I really don't want to set up everything again. Paul's first ICS release actually worked with an upgrade. All I had to do was flash with CWM, clear dalvik/cache. It had all my apps and settings saved. Only problem was that thumb keyboard didn't work.
I get an assert error about AWS.apk when I try to flash the CWM rom daoist made.

Coming from Prime 2.1.1 to ICS
-I ran Titanium Backup to back up all app + app data
-Boot into CWM and Clear cache, dalvik cache, wipe data (factory reset)
-I flash the Full version of US* ROM from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514658
-Reboot and once it booted back up I went back into CWM and flash the US version of this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1334673
(This is to fix the USB connection problems)
-Reboot, sign in with my Google account
-Use Titanium Backup to restore app+data only.
-Up and running with all my apps + app about 30 minutes later.
-My desktop running ADW EX is exactly like it was from Prime 2.11, only thing I had to do was set widgets again.
*I use the US version but you use ROM for what ever is your region.
I ended up resetting and google install all my apps again. Keyboard sucks cack. Thumb keyboard crashes :-(
flash the ics update but don't flash blades kernel it is for honeycomb not ics (don't flash any kernel that is currently available )
When moving from one distro to another, a full factory reset is always worth it. So long as you've done a Titanium Backup and a Nandroid backup before hand, getting back up and running is pretty quick. I tent to avoid the google backup as it doesn't let you pick and choose which parts you want restored.
I use Thumb Keyboard without any issues on ICS. I restored it from a Titanium Backup without issue.
I had the old thumb keyboard lol. The 4 version works fine

Infuse 4G on Froyo upgrade help

This second hand Infuse is running Froyo.uckh1 2.2.1 and kernel 2.6.32.9 and I've managed to root it, have green CMW 2.5.1.2 installed and rom manager installed (free ver). My goal is a stable newer stable custom ROM while keeping all the main functions working. the phone has no data to back up. I have been reading a lot of posts on how to upgrade to a custom ROM and i was trying to avoid having to flash it if possible (would like to stay with android)and let rom manager do it. can that be done? also which one should i try ? i know that this has been answered many times but i don't want to brick it and was looking for some guidance.
Thanks a lot and happy new year to all.

I don't know anything about green CWM red is available on the link provided though if it becomes an issue. You'll need a CWM flashable ROM and it sounds like you want a cleaned up stock version, others seems to have themes and other options you may not want, I didn't, performance is fine but I really didn't want to change the look. In that case you'll want this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1508619
You'll find a working link in the last few pages of the thread.
Download it to your download directory on the SD which is built in the phone.
Also download this kernel:

In CWM wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, format system, format data, format cache, install zip from SD card select ROM and flash then install zip from SD card select kernel and flash then reboot you'll have to uninstall the ATT stuff yourself or not, be careful that you don't remove apps needed by the system to function or by other system apps, most of the stuff with ATT in the name is safe and you need to remove tethering manager to be able to ever tether. Titanium backup root (TB) can uninstall them, be sure to first backup your new stock ROM in CWM before you start making changes because if you rip out the wrong apps you'll need to restore to boot. Use TB to backup an app if your not sure so you might not have to do a full restore. Be patient during boots.
