Very simple and smart Alarm - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hello all,
I wonder if an alarm where user can set a date added to time exists.
I know we could you use calendar for that, but it takes longer time and sound wouldn't be good for both calendar reminder and wake-up alarm.
On Desire HD, time set up looks like iPhone (with scrool), and I would appreciate to do the same with the date.
This is useful when you have to setup several wake up time which all are at different time.
Thanks,
Lim.

set Task alarm time???

Hi everyone,
So far I've found most of the Microsoft Windows Mobile apps sufficient, apart from a few small shortcomings. One of them is the unability to set the time for the reminder of a set task. If a reminder is set, it always goes off at 8pm, which is EXTREMELY annoying when it's Saturday and you want to sleep in!!
This seems to me just the thing that gets people away from Microsoft and over to Open Source.
It would be really helpful if you could set the time for the alarm just like when doing so for an appointment - why Microsoft didn't include it initially will probably remain a mystery... and why they set the default task alarm to 8pm even more so...
Anyway, does somebody know a way to fix this? Any help would be really appreciated!

[Q] Need countdown timer that handles standby well

Hi,
It's hard to believe, but I still haven't found a simple countdown timer that fulfills my (modest?) needs:
- counting down a specific time
- after time is over, sound an alarm
- if device is in standby when countdown is over: wake device up and sound alarm
- free (or reasonable price)
- optional 1: have more than one counter in parallel
- optional 2: specify sound volume for alarm (even if device is in vibrate mode or silent)
I tried several so far:
* SPB Time: does it all, very nice, but 15$ for such a basic functionality? I don't need all the bells and whistles...
* G-Watch: GUI is VERY slow, if in standby alarm does not sound. (There is an internal screen-off option, but then at alarm time screen stays off), only one timer
* StopTime 2.0: lot of features, but alarm time is ignored when in standby
* SimpTimers 1.01 (FannSoftware): Looks good, but while countdown is running, you can't put device into standby, which makes it unusable
Do I really have to buy SPB Time, or is there anything else?
Thanks for any help.
Try g-alarm. If you use the quick alarm it works as a countdown timer, and does everything you need.

Thanks for your reply. I tried g-alarm now, it has the same problem as g-watch: incredibly slow interface. I don't know what the developer did there, but it takes longer to load than any other tool, and opening the prefs for a specific timer takes really long, too. But at least... it works.

Alarm App?

Coming from a Nexus One with CM7 (*drools*) he had added in lots of additional options in the, I guess, stock alarm settings.
One being how long the phone would ring if you didn't get to it. I had it set to unlimited, which meant it would just ring and ring and ring and ring and ring until I woke up.
With the unmodified alarm, I'm finding that I'm waking up late, and the phone saying missed alarm. What good is an alarm you can miss?
Is there an alarm app we can replace our with from CM7 or something that has those options? I can't see it requiring any special kernel or hardware.
My alarm seems to go on forever unless I hit Snooze or Cancel.
^ same here. I had an alarm set for 5pm and was away from my phone. When I came back to it around 5:40 or so it was still going off. stock alarm
I use Alarm Clock Xtreme Free. Really good alarm app. I love it.

The options are sick.
Alarm Clock Xtreme - stupid name, excellent app. There are a ton of options, maybe bordering on too many (and I'm a "more options, please" kind of person). But it is the only alarm that has consistently been able to get my ass out of bed (and I've tried many). What works for me is setting it to require that I solve a series of math problems before I can dismiss the alarm, and setting a low max number of snoozes. If you're getting up to run first thing, you can set it to not dismiss until you reach a certain speed.
Looking back at what I've written, it seems ACX is the app to use if you hate your morning self and want to use cruelty to bend him to your will.

I use kaloer clock. Its free and very customizable. Also serves as a nice bedside dock clock with live weather animations. Give it a shot. You can set it to stay on for 999 minutes if you think that would help you.
Gentle Alarm if you're willing to pay.
I've been using Klaxon since the G1 and never had a problem, although some reviews in the market claim to have some issues. I think it is mainly because it doesn't get updated too much anymore, as it is written my the developer of ClockworkMod and RomManager seems to be much more lucrative.

alarm countdown

Does anyone know if I can turn on this old feature of android? In Jellybean, once I set an alarm, there is a notice that gives me the countdown before the alarm goes off (eg, Alarm set for ...minutes from now"). I found this useful since it saved me a few times from setting up the wrong time. This seems to be missing in the lollipop version of s6. Any idea how I can enable the function?
Not sure about the stock alarm but I use Timely and it does when you toggle it.
ok, will give the app a trial. Is the alarm reliable? My experience with other alarm apps is sometime the alarm doesn't go off. Thanks for your input
Very! I have been using it for over a year. I actually purchased it before Google bought the company and made it free!

Looking for Alarm app that allows overriding next day's set alarm

Hi guys
Does any of you know about an app that would allow me to do the thing described in the title? To give an example:
Let's say I have a periodic alarm set from Monday to Friday set for 8am. On Wednesday evening however I decide that I would like to be woken up on Thursday not at 8am, but at 9am. Normally I would have to disable alarm on Thursday and set new alarm and then on Thursday turn on first alarm again. Or change the hour of alarm, but the next day I would have to change it back again and I might forget about it. What I would like is to have an option to override the thursday's alarm hour but only on next day. After that I would like for it to automatically go back to previous setting.
Any help appreciated.
Alarm clock plus - option to "skip next occurrence". Still the best alarm, shame it's not still developed.
Thanks a lot Josh!
Looks like exactly what I was looking for.
