so I am trying to load tntlite onto my new gtablet. I installed clockworkmod 8 and it looked like it loaded it just fine. But when I try to boot into clockwork it just acts like it is installing again and goes in to the base tap n tap ROM. This is the first android device I am trying to do this to. any ideas?

If you can't boot into clockwork it is not installed. Check this link and read carefully. Make sure you hold Vol+ until "detect recovery key pressed"

The exlamation mark means standard recovery - your update didn't work.

Sounds like Clockwork Recovery was not installed. So when you went to install Vegan, the stock recovery did not see the /recovery/command file(only needed for the stock recovery, not clockwork), so it basically is saying "I'm not supposed to flash anything!" to you.
I had to take the micro SD card from my phone and put the cm v.08 setup stuff on that. Did you follow the CM install instructions to the letter? I went from the stock ROM and recovery to CM recovery and vegan ROM in about 15 mins.

Load on a SD card then try again - may want to try a standard config boot load without clockwork as in TnT lite directions
I updated to the latest TnT lite (version 5) and tried to go back to factory using the update file installed on the external cd.
I reboot the tablet and it started the update process.
the process started normally but instead of completing the process moved into reboot.
after that I cannot make the tablet to work or go into recovery mode.
I only get the viewsonic screen.
How can I make it work again, please HELP!
You might need an nvflash...

Thanks a lot! managed to bring it up.
new issue I have... I am trying to install new ROM.
I cannot get the recovery mode work.
When I press the power + volume it goes to recovery boot and instead of going to the recovery menu it goes straight into update package mode.
I also tried to use the ROM manager but cannot make it go to the reboot mode.
Any idea how to solve it?

Yes... For starters... Get rid of ROM Manager. it doesn't work very well on the gTab. ClockworkMod (Bekit's .8 version) is best if you must have a menu driven recovery. Roebeet has updated TnT Lite to offer both stock and CWM recovery methods as needed so you might want to take a look at that.

This thread helped me a lot.
Helped me too, finally all is working well.
Installed the Harmony Gingerbread 2.3.3 and it works well.
Using a viewsonic G Tablet, I had initially loaded the clockwork mod. was working fine. Flashed a few ROMs over the last week. Currently running Cyanogen Mod7 Accidentally wanted to see what the ROM Manager app was about. Went and flashed the Clockword mod. Since then, I'm not able to go back into Clockwork mod. Everytime I try to reboot using the Power and Vol + button, it boots back into CyanogenMod ROM. Has a message related to MRC Erase after it says it detected REcovery Key pressed. I want to go back to using Clockworkmod so that I can flash another ROM. Now my computer doesn't even recognize the g tablet as an external storage so can't even access root. What do I need to do to get back my Clockworkmod to work again and how do I get back to my computer to recognize the g tablet. Appreciate the help. All feedback is welcome.
Sounds like you've reverted to stock recovery. Reinstall ClockworkMod. First part of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245
Before you do, you might want to check the developers thread for your ROM to make sure there aren't any caveats.

But to install Clockworkmod, I need my computer to recognize the g tab as a external storage device. Something it's not doing. So can't go back to it. CAn I download the clockworkmod on the external SD Card on the computer, put it back in the gtab and let it self recognize it and install clockworkmod? Will that work? And why isn't my computer recognizing my gtab as an external storage device. Is there a way I can mount USB storage without going into clockworkmod?
Have you tried using Rom Manager to flash clockworkmod again? Or used it to flash and older version of Clockworkmod?
If you read the thread it shows there is a method to load CWM from MicroSD card (external). Once you have CWM back on then you can mount internal through it.
I dont know why Your tablet isn't mounting. Mine mounts automatically but my configuration is very different from yours. Perhaps you could check the ROM developers thread for more information.
Double submission. Please ignore/delete.

I used the ROM Manger to flash clockworkmod. That's what messed up the clockworkmod in the first place. Trying to see how to fix that. May need to get rid of the ROM Manager.

I can't even flash clockwork mod from the ROM manager. Keeps giving me a message "An Error occured while attempting to run privileged commands". Using clockworkmod was just so much easier. Just touching one button the ROM Manager has caused me headaches. I need some serious help.

Tried to run NVFlash, but I get through ok till the point where I have to run the .bat script. What am I doing wrong? Where do I run it? Do I just double click? Because it reports an error when I do that. I"m using Windows 7 64 bit on a HP touchsmart. able to download the usb driver. recognizes the APX. but can't run the last command. Am I just supposed to get a black screen when I boot using Power and vol - button? Cos nothing else shows up on it. Appreciate the help.
I am also Unable to get into CWM after doing an update in Rom Manager. Have tried a bunch of things. still no luck. Power>Reboot>Recovery and RomManager just get me the Deterct Recovery Command - Erasing MCS then straight into CM7
Power/+ gets me Recovery Key Detected but then boots right into CM7.
Please let me know how you make out.

When the tablet is put into APX mode the screen will go black. I don't use windows so I can't be much help with the rest but it would help if you told us what the error is when you try to start the file.

That's exactly what is happening. Was wanting to load the TNT lite or Vegan to try out a different rom and now I can't do it.

The Message that shows up on the command window
"nvflash.exe" ---bct gtablet.bct ---setbct ---bl bootloader.bin ---configfile gtablet.cfg --create --go
NVFlash Started
NVFlash configuration file error: file not found
Please enter to continue
That's exactly what I see when I double click the nvflash_gtablet Windows batch file
Alright so I tried a few things and it seems like I needed to copy the files rather than the folder to the NVFlash folder. So I did that. NVFlash was successful but now it's stuck in boot loop. Now what do I do?
Ok... if you read any amount of the flashing process threads you would know using rom manager is a quote"****ing bad idea"end quote. Nvflash and a repartition using cwm is your only hope.
Flash cwm as an update.zip and repartition
Hi,
I am trying to flash my LG P500 to Cyanogen Mod 9 and the manual I found stated, that I should partition my SD card using Clockwork mod.
So I found ROM Recovery app in Google Play and installed it. Afterwords I downloaded Clockwork Flash using ROM Mangager app and everything seems OK.
But when I try to boot to clockwork mod, my phone is always being flashed into factory default.
I power off the phone, press vol down, home and power on buttons - the phone starts up, an animation of white box and android logo beside shows (with a progressbar at the bottom) - I think this is because of installed clockwork - then I release those 3 buttons I was holding, but the phone simply resets itself into factory default.
I also tried to hold those buttons all the way, until some "DOS-like" screen shows up, but the phone keeps rebooting itself.
The next thing I tried was to boot into recovery using ROM manager app, but it also did not work - I don't know, if it should boot into recovery by itself or I should press those 3buttons (vol down, home, power on/off)
Could you help me, what am I doing wrong?
thanks
It sounds like your phone is not rooted. Follow the sticky topics in this section for how to root your phone. Start with this one:

Once you have root, install clockworkmod again. Then, you'll have success.

no, my phone is already rooted
That's the stock recovery, that means ClockworkMod Recovery did not flash properly. See if you granted SuperUser rights to ROM manager, and check the SuperUser app if you had mistakenly checked 'Remember Choice'.

Dont use Rom Manager.
You dont have recovery installed.
Find some other way to flash recovery.. there are many in this forum.
I suggest you use Rom Manager to download CWM and then boot into cwm .
I suggest http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827723
This is safe for installing custom recovery.
Thanks to Shinobisoft.
Use AmonRA recovery. Works flawlessly for all roms in this forum.

Your suggesting something that might make your phone unusable,This is not the way to get your 10 posts! Please do some research before suggesting something.
I've been running the Revolver ROM on my TF101 for quite a while now, and although I've been happy enough with it, I wanted to try out some others, but I have run into several problems.
1. I currently have ClockworkMod Recovery 5.5.0.4 installed. Whenever I reboot, it goes into CWM Recovery. To boot properly I need to hold the down-volume rocker when I power on, then select the cold boot option. How do I fix this?
2. ROM Manager told me I could upgrade the recovery image to 6.0.1.3, so I did, hoping it would fix the above problem. Now ROM Manager tells me I have 6.0.1.3, but when I boot into recovery, it greets me with a "5.5.0.4" banner - it doesn't seem to have changed, and I still can't boot properly without cold-booting. Why does ROM Manager think I've a newer version of Recovery than I appear to have? How do I update it? I tried installing GooManager, and it installed some OpenRecovery image, but I still get CWM 5.5.0.4 when I boot.
3. I tried installing (via ROM Manager) CyanogendMod 9, but when first booting it displays an animated logo, and gets stuck there (and by stuck, I mean I left it a good 10hrs overnight). I had to restore the backup of the old Revolver ROM to be able to boot again. Same thing happened when I tried the CyanogenMod 10 nightly. What do I need to do to get CyanogenMod installed?
First, there is this: [NOTICE] Don't use ROM Manager! **New to the Transformer? READ**
Honestly, just install GooManager. One installed, open, grant root, then tap the menu button in the top right corner. Install OpenRecovery Script. This will install Team Win Recovery Project.
It is far superior to CWM IMO. Then all your issues will go away.

I appreciate the input, but:
1. As I mentioned in the OP, I have already tried GooManager - it claims to install OpenRecovery, but it has no effect when I restart - I still get dumped into CWM recovery.
2. If I follow the link about "Don't use ROM Manager", it mentions RecoveryInstaller, but the link to that utility is broken, and I've been unable to locate a credible copy of it elsewhere.
UPDATE: I found a working link for RecoveryInstaller, installed and ran that, clicked the button to install recovery, then my tablet rebooted, straight into CWM Recovery 5.5.0.4 again.
No matter what I do I can't seem to get rid of CWMR5.5.0.4 ...
Oops, i missed the GooManager part. my bad.
Try EasyFlasher. Boot to APX mode and install Rogue Recovery (CWM based) or TWRP.

Thanks - that looks promising. It doesn't help that it's been 18 months since I last played around with flashing ROMs etc, so I've forgotten half the stuff I need to know!
Your EasyFlasher link says "Requrements: APX drivers" with a link to some recommended drivers, and I've installed those OK (eventually! - took me a while to figure out how, because I couldn't find sensible instructions, but I worked it out in the end).
So now I've managed to boot into TWRP (yay!) and have made a backup of everything.
And now it seems to boot normally. Fantastic! Now to see if I can install some other ROMS.
Thanks for the help!
Cool, glad it's working.
I am loving the TeamEOS4 4.2.1 ROM.
The ParanoidAndroid/CM10 hybrid by Mattmanwrx is my favorite 4.1 ROM. Many also like the LiquidSmooth 4.1 but I never tried that one.
