can you explain how did you do that?

PM'd ya back.
I used AndroidCentral Sideload Wonder Machine to sideload apps. Then installed the Desktop Visualizer apk. From there the app is pretty straight forward.
Sidenote, there is no Gingerbread icon for Mediascape in this pack.

App bar widget... (froyo)

So now that I'm on Froyo I can't use my beloved Helix Launcher. I need a way to conserve desktop space. To do so I want to use a widget that allows me to add shortcuts to it and scroll through the different apps.
Think something like GDE app dock but just for the stock homescreen. Does anyone know of anything like this?
With any luck, Helix will be updated for FroYo relatively soon. I already miss it too.
You could just add a "new folder" to your home screen, name it whatever u want and fill it up with any apps (not widget). Enjoy! if you didn't know about that already of course.
Look into 'more icons widget', doesn't scroll but you can add 3+config icon in a 1x1 space or 15+ config icon in a 4x1 space.
The development of Helix has been discontinued guys
According to whom?

I've checked that one out. It's alright, but I don't like how small the icons are. I'd rather have a scrollable widget dock. GDE has a great one built in, I wish someone would build one outside of GDE that is just a widget.
Scrollable widgets are not possible under the stock launcher/framework, notice that you have to click a button or have it auto refresh with widgets like facebook and various twitter applications. That is why Rosie has the scrollable widgets because of the customized framework.
If your objective is to conserve desktop space, I'm using "Apps Organizer" download from the market(free) to do that. It allows you to group your applications and put the group name on your desktop. Definitely a space saver!
Use launcher pro, up to 7 screens.

I get what you're saying, but something doesn't make sense. On GDE you can add an application dock, it works EXTREMELY well too. Why is that? It's not a rosie app or anything.
Check it out. Thats what we need in a stand alone widget.
Like I said in the first sentence, with the stock launcher. GDE is a home replacement.
Or use a home replacement. Cause gde has it.
Edit: @evilkorn. sorry, didn't see that u clarified.
whats GDE? also does launcherpro work with froyo?
oops wrong thread.
Search in the market for an app called "Launcher Dock" It's a great app!!

I've been using it for a while now too.
ADW launcher has an app drawer at the bottom. You can flash the rc3 alternate build on the N1 Froyo. Get it HERE

[ICONS] PolaDroid (15+ Polaroid images)(Updated 10/08/2010)

*Updated: Added more icons and .psd file.
I wasn't intending on making a thread for these, but i got quite a few PM's about them, so instead of replying to everyone, one by one, i decided to post it here...
What is PolaDroid??? Polaroid widgets that are arbitrarily designed to overlap one another.
I use Desktop Visualizer (large) to set up the widgets. I also recommend using Launcher Pro Plus to re-size and place them.
Included Icons:
Browser
Camera
Contacts
Email
Facebook
Fantasy Football
Market
Music
Spades
Text
Tools
Twitter
Video
Voicemail
Weather
*Bank of America
*Favorites
*Games
*Navigation
*Froyo (for whatever reason)
i will add more icon if enough people request similar ones
now for the screenshots:
hope you guys like them
Download Here
Nice job .....
Wow! Those look great. GJ
Very original, looks great. I was surprised to see them overlap and not look choppy. Kudos.

once you get the icon on the screen (using desktop visualizer LARGE), re-size to a 1x1 icon.. then when u get a few of them on the screen placed where u want, expand each icon and they will overlap.
Oh ok thanks for that man
i really love this but would u please post the psd
Thanks for sharing! Currently using it on my Captivate.
Wonder if anyone has previously requested from you something for Maps and/or GPS

Hello, excellent work and great idea on how to get them to overlap! I see you have included a psd file, what size should we make the pictures so your layer looks correct on top?
Thanks
Trying to get this running on my CDMA Hero....but not lining up, after I get 3 icons on the screen, it says I can't fit anymore so I can't add the 4th to each page. Is this not possible to do on the CDMA Hero?
EDIT: nvm I think i was just not making the icons small enough initially after the resize. gonna try it again now.
when there was a new
how do you resize them? Im running LPP and the standard widget resize doesnt seem to work. long pressing only gives me the option to delete, not resize

[Q] Custom Shortcut Help

I want to know how to set a custom shortcut icon. Im running ADW EX and I know you can add a custom shortcut then click the picture, problem is I am running a theme and I want to use Go SMS with the themed stock messaging icon. Where are those icons located? Is there a way to get to those icons somehow or do i have to extract them? If my question doesnt make sense ill try to clear it up. Thanks!

easiest way is desktop visualizer free app on the market.
Sent from 1.5GHz CM7 Nexus S.
ok ill give that a go. Does anyone know the path to locate the system icons? So I can choose them in the appropiate app.
Edit: Ok so i gave desktop visualizer a go and its exactly what i want. HOWEVER when i choose the messaging icon and the nthe application Go SMS it still brings up the default messaging icon instead of the the themed messaging icon. Any ideas?

*NEW* Sony Ericsson Launcher 2.0.A.0.22

Did a quick search seems like no one have made a thread on this.
Attached is what is believed to be, the new SE launcher to come with the 2.3.4 update for the 2011 range Xperia handsets,
which is now also working on X10 with the 2.3.3 update
the new launcher feels smoother, with ability to uninstall apps from app drawer and theme functions (however no themes are provided by SE at this stage)
*EDIT - the power control widget is SwitchPro widget, clock widget is SimiClock. both available from Market.
*NEW VERSION 2.0.A.0.22 launcher:

Try it
I can confirm even with stock rom only, X10 feels as smooth as Arc, just install it over the existing launcher. all your widgets and desktop config will be kept.
I am gonna try this...!!

Lol. Tried it on LG O1. Works nicely.. only problems in app drawer.. the arrow icon in the lower left corner gives a FC...
Edit:
Cant add widgets or anything... guess u cant use it on other devices after all
Edit:
Flashed CM7 and it works nicely on it. Wish there were some options in the app drawer tho. The horizontal app drawer isn't very awesome.
supercool... thanks....
It's a lot smoother and faster....nice find
it looks cool;i will try it too.
when you pinch all the icons float around too, pretty cool
is it faster slower or any more fuction ?
any info please ???

It's quite a lot faster and smoother.
The option of hiding apps in the drawer is there too (but only for installed apps and not system apps).
A nice update.
Nice found man!!
The launcher is very smooth, thanksfor uploading!
Where are the power widget and the weather / clock widget from?

Its pretty cool but useless lol. I bet SE spent more time on making stuff like this than delivering our GB update...typical
also discovered that when you shake the phone after you pinch zoomed your widgets and stuff they shake around too
Hey, just a quick question. What's the difference between the 2.3.4 launcher and the 2.3.3 launcher? As you mentioned, the power toggle and clock aren't SE widgets.
The pinch overview mode comes with the 2.3.3 update.

Make Msg icon open non default Sms app

Is there a way to make the ICS green message icon open GO SMS instead of the stock app? I like the icon cause it flows with the homescreen, and the go sms one is ugly haha. Just wondering if theres a way to keep the stock sms icon but re route to open go sms? i dont really want to install a home launcher either.
Just edit the icon. Get Gosms apk and replace the icon.
