Is anybody else having this problem? I am on Rogers here in Canada.
I flashed my phone to the 2.2 froyo leaked. But then switched back to stock at&t 2.1 since I couldnt get texts working for me. then I was able to get it to stock rogers 2.1.
Would this be the problem to why its not working? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Have you enabled vibrate in the messaging application? Go to messaging press menu then settings and at the very bottom is the vibrate option.

As title says, I am unable to send/receive attachments as all my outgoing hang at "sending" and I receive no notifications for incoming.
This makes me sad
Anyone else having this issue?
That's a Sidekick 4G bug.

I wouldn't call it a sidekick 4g bug if your using the asop messaging app thats avail for that rom. I had the same bug so i went an dug up the stock sk4g messaging app (search for it in gingerclone v2) an i can send an receive attachments again though the smiley button doesn't work though it didn't work with the stock app either.
so I'm rooted, running acs ics, firmware 2.3.5, kernel 2.6.35.7// A few days ago, the generic email started to force close, then messenger started doing the same thing. I finally removed and installed handcent which seems fine to me because I dont text that much and it works, but I now am not able to receive/send picture text. Anyone have any ideas on whats going on or how I can fix this? I'm on sprint. also, anyone know where I could get a clean version of mms.apk? Thanks in advance.
I recently had issues with my phone and returned it to stock. I am now running the stock ICS from AT&T.
I installed GO SMS, then disabled the notifications in my regular messaging application, and now I receive no notifications in GO SMS unless I am in the actual program and it is running. This was not an issue when I running GB, I would receive notifications when the app was not running.
any ideas or advice?
I search the forums and google but had no luck, hopefully i posted this in the right place. Thanks in advance.
Hey there, I've been looking for a way to fix this for a few days now and im stumped.
Im using Synergy rom, juice defender ultimate and handcent. My problem is when I receive MMS messages while connected to wifi I have to manually disable wifi then re-open handcent and download the message again. Same with the stock messaging app. It seems handcent doesnt like to use wifi. I cant find any settings in either app that seem to allow me to force MMS to downloag over 4g. Has anyone else had this issue?
P.s. it also happens while sending mms messages. If I do not manually change any settings and let JD do its thing, it takes hours for a picture messgae to send.

had this same issue on cleanrom. i ddint use handcent nor juicedefender. i just swtiched over to synergyrom r443. i don't have any issues now. hmmmmmm??? i am unable to explain this to you, it's well beyond my understanding. just thought i'd give you a courtesy call.
Had this issue when on a TW ROM, switched over to an AOSP ROM (LiquidSmooth) and no issues with that anymore. For what it's worth, AOSP ROMs rock ;]
I used to use cleanrom and had the same problem with and without juice defender. Id rather not change roms again im pretty happy with this rom and kernal.

I have a similar issue, just noticed it recently with CleanROM 6R2. It does not seem to happen with the stock ROM, as both my wife and I have S3's, hers stock. We are both using Verizon Messages for our texting, and we both have the settings so that integrated messaging is enabled to sync with the web and tablets we have
If I have WIFI enabled and I receive a group message, when I try to respond my *send* will fail. If I turn off WIFI, the MMS group message will send without issue. I've tried this with both Verizon Messages and Handcent, and both suffer the same issue. So it is something at a lower level than the application.
I'm temped to try a rooted stock of the latest ROM to see if the problem goes away.
EDIT: just noticed your PS, looks like we are in the same boat...

Yep, checked those options in both messaging apps.
Glad someone is having the same symptoms as me, hopefully we can figure this out.
I did use the stock rom with root for a few days when I first got the phone and I dont remember having any issues.
I am using a stock rooted rom and recently began to experience issue with sending and receiving text messages. I use Handcent SMS and have the stock messaging app frozen and for some reason the messages look like they've been sent but they actually haven't been. For some reason this only happens when I am at home and the cell reception isn't the best but it's good enough where I should be able to send receive texts. When they do happen to go through, I'll receive like 20 texts at the same time but the people had sent them hours before. I have looked for settings within Handcent and haven't been able to find anything.
Does anyone know how I can fix this issue?

Did you always freeze the stock messaging app? I used handcent on my droid incredible, but I haven't used it since because the stock and AOSP messaging apps have gotten much better.
I know that handcent used to rely on the stock messaging app for messages to pass through. Try defrosting it and simply turn off message notifications, then you won't even notice it running.

I've had the stock app frozen for almost a year and until recently everything worked fine. Handcent now has an option to choose what app you want to handle the default actions for messaging. I get a message that pops up saying the service is unavailable right now and the message will be sent when the service becomes available. I'm not sure if that is coming from Handcent or the phone.

The only thing I can think of is mobile data signal. I recently went from the vrblk3 modem to the vrbmb1 firmware and I'm noticing a big increase in my signal strength pretty much everywhere I go.
Since it only happens in your house, it sounds like you just aren't getting a good enough signal, or the data your phone says is being sent actually is getting hung up on verizon's end. I would try a different firmware package and see what happens, just don't use vrbmd3 firmware. It sounds like your issue is with your phone, not the app.
