xda dev app - Android Apps and Games

is there anyway to view the source code for this? Not sure exactly how andriod apps work in this whole code sharing business...liek am i allowed to look at someones source and use it to make similar apps?

This app doesn't do much more than connects to your browser and goes to xda website with mobileview and such.
This app is basically a title screen that leads to a website with no url bar, and stores some caches because it has settings that you can change.

Well is there anyway I can c the src?

i really want to see some example code and i figure i start with the app on the site that im on all the time

There is source code available for the Google IO Sched 2010 app, which is quite advanced. It's a good reference, but doesn't have webview, if that's what you are looking for.

Market data source

Hi,
I was just wondering; where do sites like AndBOT and AndroidZoom get their data from?
market.android.com is not of much help...
Thanks.
I don't know about Bot but AndroidZoom is Googles answer to a web/desktop accessible version of the actual Android Market. They are the same exact source --- just different end-uses.

[REQ] Auto-Launch App

I've searched forums and the market.
Im looking for an app that will allow me to specify an application to launch on startup.
So, boot the phone, home screen arrives, app launches (in this case Browser).
If no app is available id be happy with a script or something as my device is rooted. just need a means of auto-opening.
Suggestions?
Many thanks!
Anyone? =/
Tasker will do it, ull find it ob the market, its not free but on the devs homepage u can download a 7 days trial

How to review an app?

Sorry, but I must be missing something here, but I cannot find any place in the honeycomb market app to write a review. I am looking at my installed apps, and I can't find it anywhere.
Edit : on another note, not all my apps are showing up in the my apps section of the market. I am rooted, and have tried the market doctor in titanium, and can't seem to fix it.
I can't figure this out either! I asked on twitter and the reply I got was "carefully" lol

You're not missing anything. It's not available via the market app on any tablets at this time. You will have to do it via your desktop browser, your phone, or as a workaround, set the default browser on the tablet, to 'desktop' mode.
Can't filter for honeycomb apps... Can't rate honeycomb apps from your tablet....
It almost seems like Google is actively trying to make the marketplace suck for tablet users. Either that or they are trying to obscure the generally crappy offerings for honeycomb that are available.
Thanks for the replies. It's pretty ridiculous you can't do this. I was hoping that I would be able to write a longer review like you can on the website. On my phone a review has to be very short, like text message length.

[Q] [Idea] XDA Login API for WIN/MAC/Lin apps?

Not sure if others would like this or if you can even do it.
I recently built windows apps to help XDA members. Now normally I would just place for XDA use etc etc. Truthfully that doesn't work.
I'm not a fan of many other sites out there and was wondering if XDA had an API I could implant into my software to verify users authenticity, basically a login plugin.
The user will open the app and login using there xda credentials and maybe verify post count or something.
I really like to lock my apps with out having to do a bunch of keys, username & passwords etc. it would be very nice if I can hook into an API and verify there XDA membership that way.
Now I could simply build a webcontrol and have them login that way, but I dont want people getting the wrong impression on the software or feel as if the software is doing stuff other then what it was men't to do.

Google Setting

This green icon randomly appearing on everyones phones today?
Without any warning it seems to be downloading (about 3.5mb data used) and draining about 5% of my battery within a few minutes of boot, reinstalls iteslf at boot if uninstalled.
i have the same, suddenly ut appeared in my list, but market and titanium cant find them

I was searching, couldn't find it on my phone :/
According to Engadget, it's from Google, hypothetically to allow users to control their new G+ sign in (afaik, only Tunein Radio has this implemented right now).

And if one wants to remove it???
All it's got in it is:
Google+ sign-in
Google Maps Access
Ads Yes/No.
Doesn't seem to show up anywhere that I can readily delete.

You can hide it from the drawer if your launcher has that feature, but you won't be able to permanently delete it.
It doesn't do much yet, but Google+ universal sign-in was just launched this week and if developers start picking this up and allowing you to sign in to their service using your Google+ account then this is where you will have the ability to revoke app's permissions.
I think they are setting some groundwork to make other changes in managing your Google account from your phone and that we will probably see quite a bit more show up in this app over time. I'm really hoping for a full mobile equivalent to the Dashboard webpage

That makes more sense. Without that explanation, Google Settings just seems like a waste of space.
