Do not install themes over the top of GummyJAR 2.5 unless they were made for 2.5, you will get stuck in a bootloop if you do
Note: GummyJAR 2.5 can be installed over the top of 2.1
GummyJar is built for and only tested on 2.3.320/340 based phones.... If you are running 2.3.15 you might have issues Don't worry D2users you are good
GummyJAR is an AOSP like rom, yes it is based off of a moto rom (2.3.340)
99% of all apps were compiled by me from source (a few needed to be there from moto... like three or so provider.service apps)... This is a first and I was able to accomplish this though modifying the framework in both cvpc's and cyanogenmod's source. All source changes will be available to anyone who requests them after GummyJAR is released.... So yes this work will work its way into other Blur based ROM's
The look and and feel of this rom is AOSP + Gingerbread with a few tweaks If you are a themer and would like to release themes for my rom PM me...
GummyJAR is really as close to AOSP as we are going to get until cvpcs and Matt get things figured out and the bugs cleared up!!!

well lockscrcreen settings is a separate app but I reference it from within the XML in the settings.apk.. the exact file was ~res/xml/settings.xml
I must also point out the settings.apk does not decompile within apkmanager without errors.. soooo the only way you are going to be able to edit the xml is
1. hex edit the binary
2. build settings.xml from source (the way I did it)
I learned this by simply using Kiff3 to compare the strait AOSP settings package with cvpcs's...
Kdiff3 is a powerful tool if you know how to use it (highly recommended)

Is the tab lockscreen (non rotary) still gingerbread themed?

Introducing! - Barcode Customizations!!!!
In an effort to give each use a customizable experience i have come up with a simple yet complex way to do so. Read on for directions and expect more as suggestions come in, and I learn more about the possibilites of scripting.
Directions
Navigate to this site using a pc, or something that can open a webpage so you can scan the barcodes.
Open the "Scripter" app located in your app drawer
Press the bottom right button "Scan Script".
If this is the first time you've used the barcode scanner since flashing, it will give you directions. Press Done to continue.
Choose which modification you would like to scan first and scan the barcode with the scanner.
A dialog will pop up explaining the script that is going to run touch "yes".
Now the script will run and another dialog box will say "Running Script - Please wait..." Wait about 3 seconds and then change the orientation of the phone and this dialog will disappear. Done, your script has been completed. (This is a bug, and i'm already talking with the author to get some fixes.)
Scan any other modification you would like, then reboot when finished.
Please give me some feedback and suggestions for these mod's and anything you would like.
For any of the apps removed, you can find them in your SDCard under "Removed-APKs".
Vanilla Lockscreen mod!
This removes HtcLockScreen.apk, HTCMusic.apk, and WorldClock.apk
Add's Vanilla Music and Clock (this is to fix the alarm issue.)
Remove Sprint Bloatware!
This removes all sprint apps.
To add an individual app back, navigate to /sdcard/Removed-APKs and install accordingly.
Remove Junk!
This removes Stock.apk, HtcTwitter.apk, com.htc.TwitterWidget.apk, com.htc.StockWidget.apk, teeter.apk, HtcFootprints.apk, HtcFootprintsWidget.apk, amazonmp3.apk, Flickr. apk and HTCMobileGuide.apk
To add an individual apk back, navigate to /sdcard/Removed-APKs and install accordingly.

Removed BusyBox Installer
Added Jit Tweaks (Thanks bcnice20)
Added ADB Notification removal mod. (Thanks to calkulin, finally resorted to looking at your mod after many failed attempts.)

Made app drawer 5 columns wide.
Added customization scripting!!!!
Added Scripter to /data/app for customizing scripts. See each script for changes made.
Ported over snq's 3n1 Reboot option--bootloader, recovery and normal reboot. (Thanks snq)
0.2
Started from scratch (Extracted RUU and got to cookin). (Thanks for the link Whosdaman.)
Fixed all non-working apps (i.e. Youtube, Bookmarks widget, Wireless Tether)
Made this release a "Base" rom. Basically nothing is removed from it (all bloatware is on, no modifications to default workspace etc..) There is method to my madness, please be patient.
Default wallpaper has been reset as the rollout default. (I'll upload this the original one if there's any requests.)
Made App Drawer and "add to home" background views trasnparent.
Updated all Apps. (i.e. XDA App, Busybox installer, Barcode scanner)
Rom currently is preloaded with stock HTC Kernel 2.6.32.15 (has fps cap fix finally!)
AOSP Apps are currently not installed. I had them in the original release because of the vanilla lockscreen. I will create a flashable zip for vanilla lockscreen.
Removed Setcpu from App bucket. This is by request of the app's author. I apologize that I wasn't aware of his wishes in the beginng. (Thanks Zippy)
Wirleless Tether app is in the App-Bucket, install this with an explorer of your choice (ES is included) this was the only way i found to fix the Wireless Tether issue.
/Not Working
NOTHING!
/Next Update
None for now. Working on new project. Stay tuned to XDA for release! PM for Beta testing.
got a question can i run stock htc kernal on this and how is battery life?
Downloading now, looks nice.
Edit: Ok I'm a baddie, I didnt wipe before install. Strangely it loaded just fine but all of your programs are there as well as everything else I had installed on my previous rom, including wallpaper! Is that normal? I've never got that after loading any other ROM's. Seemed kinda cool actually. Well except all my home screens were blank. Gonna wipe and re-do
Wow just flashed this rom and so far its incredibly fast! Seems stable so far too. No fc's as of yet. I'll let you know how battery life is later.

Do anyone know how to get my Twitter updates to show up in the Friendstream widget? I pushed the HtcTwitter.apk to the phone and it's there. I went into settings and logged in. But it's still not showing up. However if I go the top of the Friendstream widget and press the arrow, I can see both my facebook and Twitter updates.
But for some strange reason the twitter updates is not automatically showing on the widget itself, only the facebook ones.
Thanks
Looks very nice... what font is that?

This is a first and I was able to accomplish this though modifying the framework in both cvpc's and cyanogenmod's source. Yay Happy I was able to help
Gonna try this soon!
Makes me smile seeing a few more ROMs coming out. I'll keep an eye on this one as well.
I really want to try this. Can't wait to get it!
Is this ROM built from the gingerbread sdk?
I can't wait to flash this! Finally I can get rid of Fission and its contributionware shenanigans!
I want those lcokscreen sliders! Can't wait until this is availible.
Testing with Xdustin07x2 right now guys... Its a little hard cause I dont have a D2 in my hands so I have to work with him to get things fixed. So far we are having issues with the camera and the keyboard.. thats about it.. Once I get those resolved we should be good to go.

Sweet! I cant wait to try your rom out
OK the keyboard is fixed up only one issue now. Rotation to landscape only work when you open the keyboard.. looking into it now
I don't understand. If a DX rom like Apex got ported to D2 with no problem then why don't the dev's ask Fabolous how he did it? :s I'm not a dev or anything, but isn't that one way to try to resolve the issue? Just giving an opinion.

ApeX V1.3.1 for Droid 2 - 2 parts AOSP, 1 part Blur, all ApeX (now with a hint of Gingerbread!)
Many common questions about Apex have answers that can now be found at the official Wiki. Please take a look below, thanks!
Main Page - FabDroid Wiki
Changes in V1.3.1
Built using Droid X 2.3.340 base (official OTA 2.2.1 build)
Gingerbread themed dialer
Bluetooth voice dialing is now working
Nexus S Livewallpaper now default (CyanogenMod one available via script)
Further theming of Gmail, Email, Music notifications icons
Market and Voice Search updated to latest versions
Nexus S Wallpapers and Pete’s 2.3 Icons are available on /sdcard/ApeX/
JRummy Overclocking Script (fixed for new oc module, customized voltage values)
Startup scripts have been moved so they are no longer overwritten by OC apps (i.e Jrummy)
Quick Office is fixed
Nexus S Microbe LWP can be installed via script
Using Blur text message by default now (fixes a couple quirks)
Credits to P3Droid, TBH, Team DeFuse, JRummy, Xeudoxus, Beesley, Cyanogen, Pete, and many more. Without all the contributions of the devs to the Android community, this would not be possible. Thanks!
A special thanks to kejar31 for providing a very easy method of porting DX roms to D2, TY!
Features:
Optimized & Zipaligned framework and applications
Combination of AOSP and Blur apps (customize with scripts!)
Build.prop and sysctl.conf mods (ty Beesley, nenolod, drod!)
Gingerbread Android 2.3 Theme from SDK image
Transparent Notification Shade
ADW.Launcher with up to 7 homescreens (5 by default)
Neural Network Live Wallpaper from Galaxy S
Built-in ad blocking (toggle with script)
MMS app w/ black background (switchable to Blur via script!)
Yahoo! email and corporate sync working
Custom window animations and transitions
Spare Parts, Terminal Emulator, Wireless Tether preinstalled

Installation Instructions: Please have a nandroid of your current setup in case this is not for you
-Place file on your sdcard. Bootstrap recovery and reboot recovery
-Navigate to mounts and storage. FORMAT data, and cache
-Return to previous menu and install .zip from sd card
-Choose ApeX and install!
OR
-Place file on sdcard. Install ROM from sdcard in ROM manager. Wipe data and cache.Download Link:

QUIRKS
-If you're using another launcher besides ADW, do not use the 'Search' widget. That's for ADW only. It'll get stuck at the top of your screen if you use it on LauncherPro. Use the 'Google Search' widget instead.
Themes:
Themes from 1.2.1 should be compatible. Get them here:

Extras:
Apps removed from 2.3.320

Goodies pack 1: This includes the battery icons with percentages by tom108 seen here as well as AppWidgetPicker, which groups multiple widgets of the same app together. You can read about it here.

New Scripts in 1.3.1
overclock - launches terminal based overclocking script by JRummy. This has 4 different voltage levels and 11 frequency options per. Also allows setting on boot.
nexus - lets you choose which Neural Network LWP to use, the Nexus S version, or the CyanogenMod version. This will cause your phone to reboot.
microbes - can install or remove the Microbes LWP
New Scripts in 1.3.0
Both of these scripts rely on files I've installed to your sdcards. Please make sure that the sd card is NOT mounted to your computer before running these scripts (i.e. Mass Storage Mode)
fabadw: use this to automatically load up my ADW presets. You can use this as a base to customize ADW further (I find the default configuration a little...lacking).
su
fabadw
Then, go back home, menu, adw preferences, and scroll down to restart ADW.
keyboard: this switches keyboards, with 3 options (gb, wmt, bmt)
gb: gingerbread
wmt: white multitouch
bmt: black (AOSP 2.2) multitouch
Be warned, this does restart your phone after applying this script! Also, upon rebooting, you will need to switch keyboards back to the choice you made, as it will automatically switch to Swype because the script deletes the keyboard first, then restores your choice.

If you just go into Terminal Emulator and typed those commands, they will work. For example, to switch to aosp gallery, you would enter 'gallery -aosp' without the quotations. Hope this helps.
Ok....so the "-" is supposed to be there??? Alright so like overclock would be what?

Yes the - goes there. Exactly as I typed it without the quotes. And I use the d2/dx overclock app from the market so I'm not sure about overclocking. Just read the original post.

Anybody else having an issue with the Dialer app? i click on the icon and it force closes (without the FC screen). Basically it just never comes up, but the phone radio seems to turn off and back on. I can call fine from my contacts, and the dialer works in a call, just when i try to open it to make an initial call it craps out.
Edit: seems it's an issue with changing the LCD Density... when i changed it back to stock the dialer works great. I love the ROM this seems to be the only issue I have
Does this ROM work on Droid 2 Global?
no data connection in "my apps" on android market
"my apps" not wotking in android market any ideas? Also, is there a way to get the Motorola widgets back? This ROM rocks! But I need to find out how to get the market working right. Not ad concerned with Moto widgets but they would be nice. The market gives me the error with 3G and wick. HELP!

It looks great and i like the toolbow its like the Fission Rom manager that im used to and it has more options!
This is great!
Got liberty downloaded, customized and up and running this morning! So far it is amazing. Only way to describe it is GummyJar on crack!!! Admittedly my phone has only been running it <2 hours and I usually try and reserve judgement until I've used a rom a few days, but this one is just amazing!
Edit: Also I know the first post said something about the GBKB size on the d2 but it feels perfect to me. Much better than stock or swype imo (although I personally never was a big swype person).
The liberty toolbox, boot logo/animation and libery settings are a BIG, BIG plus dudes! Enjoying this ROM sooo much!

Amazing ROM guys... I've used Fission and ApeX, stayed on GummyJAR for quite some time and now have switched to liberty and I've gotta say, with the toolbox, etc, this is by far the best ROM I've used... thank you guys for the hard work!
Wow
Comming from a Touch Pro 2 with many roms the D2 didnt offer as much for me initially and i was scared to do it.
BUT after trying gummyjar I was HOOKED now this IS the perfect evolution of it I have this like 2 min and I am super Impressed this is really what an Android phone should operate like!
KUDOS
Yes yes yes! Just what I've been waiting for. Downloading and installing now!
Everything is looking amazing. The toolbox is awesome. One problem though, it looks like whatever server is hosting the content of the toolbox (like themes) is really really slow. I left a theme download running for like five minutes and 500kb of it had been downloaded. Not a huge problem, but I'd suggest maybe finding another host. The only mirror that downloaded the actual ROM for me at a decent pace was the droid2files link.
New to D2 ROMs...I installed GummyJar and then jumped right to this. Installed over the top without wiping and everything seems to be running great. Exploring now.
I am a QA guy by trade. Is there anywhere special where you post issues, or do I just post in this thread?

[MOD] AROMA Kang Jelly v1.57 AOSP Personalizer, updated 10-25

Update 10-25 Aroma Kang Jelly AOSPJB Personalizer
Personalize any JB based CM, AOKP, paranoid, slim, or other non-stock ROMs
on Skyrocket or Hercules
Version 1.57
AOKP JB, CM10, ETC. personalizer
Version .797
Everything else
Now you can change your ugly CM10 weather icons to the pretty AOKP weather icons!
Check the changelog down below.
This will not work in cwm 6xxx. (Touch or not)
It will work in sk8rwitskil's 6xxx.
This should work on any device. The boot animations are constrained to 800x480 devices, and the inverted stuff is constrained to jellybean. Please Lemme know if you link in another devices forum though!
Quick Description! Flash this from recovery at any time to personalize your AOSP ROM (Like cm10 or AOKP based ROMs) You don't have to wipe any caches. You can change the system font, the boot animation, and a few more features. You can also flash this immediately after a new ROM and conveniently flash gapps, the agps patch by crypted, add root browser, tibu, and rom manager.. or fix permissions right away with a script from realpariah and minotauri. You flash this as many times as you want. Anytime you want to change something, just go to recovery and flash again.
PERSONALIZE YOUR ROM IN A FLASH! (That's almost as clever as "Kang of all Kangs")
I want to express an extra huggy thanks to Team Passion for not objecting (openly, anyway) to my blatant exploiting of their Chimera installer as a template for this.
Also Thanks to:

Instructions: flash the zip from recovery and it will open. Choose your menu items, pick your theme. Straightforward from there, really. Just pick what you want to install. You can leave anything you don't want unchecked, if you check something by accident, there is a "do nothing" choice in every selection group.
Note!! Aroma will likely freeze in official CWM 6.xxx recovery. It will work in sk8rwitskil's 6.xxx recovery, and some features may not work in TWRP.
Download 1.57 from Goo!

Since colorfix version started freezing again, I didn't bother with it this time

1.006 changelog-
Added real cm10 boot animation in place of those other ones
Changed to aroma 2.51 binary. Should be more compatible with other devices now

-music, youtube, google plus, gmail, and other inverted gapps by team BAKED (9/14 bundle)
-transparent contacts and mms by M4750D0N
-updated aokp boot animation (removed the old one)

Download .797: http://d-h.st/9Pv
.797 change log (posted out of sequence, this was more or less one of my test builds till now)
Added team passion's morph script to invert systemui and framework Res.
This one is still for cm9 based stuff. Decided to post it since I posted .807 but there is still a demand for cm9 mods. Note: the team passion inversion script does NOT break anything in cm9 (that I'm aware of anyway)
Previous change logs are in the installer.

There should be a 3M section. KANG Sauce, we don't make your ROMs, we make them better.

I dont see a problem with this in dev section.. this could be the kick to get aroma to install just about all ROMS..
But who am I..

I will redo the aroma configuration tonight so it actually reflects the correct information and also *try* to add the cm9 boot animation and maybe a nightly 6/24 version.
And aokp 40 too.
To be honest if someone here more capable than I can do it better (and is familiar with that config) I wanted to get the idea some attention. This file was just to see if it worked.

EDIT: have you added the default storage option?
Good thinking. Very innovative to gear it towards other ROMs. Have fun with it dude

I haven't added anything yet. Right now it is in the same state that PTSD and Jaydub had it for chimera, except it installs cm9 instead. Once I figure out what I'm doing I'll start adding stuff. I have an idea how to add more fonts, boot animations, sounds, and apps. Funny thing is, the easiest thing to change on it is which ROM it installs/modifies.
So in specific response to your question, what do you mean by "default storage"? For the browser? That's within the ROM. This isn't going to change very much function. If a nightly comes out that has it then it can be taped onto this.

I emailed a bunch of developers months ago to add the aroma installer to their roms but never got any responses maybe this will be the push
Aroma is nice the issue being it makes packages huge making it tough to host on normal sites given upload caps so its OK for aosp but could never be done for tw based roms

it is a feature in all of the cm9 builds but none of the aokp or chamira builds. when you go to settings->storage and hit the menu button it says configure storage and you can select the internal as default. if it really is that easy you should have it modify the latest nightly
this is what i wanted to see The Revolution has started
where'd you get that supergirl wallpaper?

original thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1714651
Okay so it's taken me a few hours just to get my bearings.
But I got my bearings. I have to go to sleep now though so here's what's up. I'm going through the scripts and adding what skyrocket options I can. Available modems first, and a few more boot animations. It will be a big install file but it will work with AOKP and cm9. And whenever either of those get updated, like I said earlier they'll be the easiest things to change. All I've changed so far is the ROM name and stuff, no different options yet.
What is all that code stuff called anyway, xml?
Whoooah. What are some good xml words? Look I'm doing xml!!
Also I can't get the red pixels working, the fix suggested by the guy that wrote the thing doesn't work.
