[VIDEO] Samsung KIES Tethering How-To - Captivate General

All links pulled due to XDA Request after an XDA member complained I was only out for profits to a moderator on a few products I have. Due to the fact I link to a product or two and a few other things in many videos, I was asked to pull any content relating to this.
I will still be offering all this great material at my website. Just go to google and search for MobileTechVideos.

Same thing happened to mine, except I sat on it. Someone here bought mine here for $100. Honestly as much as I love the Android OS on phones I tired of it rather quickly on a tablet. I'm awaiting a Windows 7 tablet called EXOPC and based on the reviews I've read I look forward to using this thing. Good luck with your sale.

Please review the rules and lets keep XDA the best place for fellowship and development.
Forum Rules
1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.
2. Member conduct.
2.1 Language:
XDA is a worldwide community. As a result what is ‘ok’ to say in your part of the world may not be ok in someone else’s part of the world. Please think about who is reading what you write. Keep in mind that what you think of as acceptable use of language may not be acceptable to others. Conversely, while reading member posts, remember that word you find offensive may not be to the writer. Tolerance is a two way street.
2.2 Nudity:
XDA is used by people of all ages, including minors. It's not acceptable to post nude/pornographic imagery, which includes exposure of the male or female genitalia or of female breasts.
2.3 Flaming:
XDA was founded as a group of people sharing information about certain mobile phones. Sharing does not involve virtual yelling (flaming) it does involve working together to solve problems in an environment of mutual respect and understanding. Losing your temper and flaming another member, or group of members, is not acceptable behavior.
2.4 Personal attacks, racial, political and/or religious discussions:
XDA is a discussion forum about certain mobile phones. Mobile phones are not racial, political, religious or personally offensive, therefore none of these types of discussions are permitted on XDA.
2.5 New Members:
Treat new members the way you would have liked to have been treated when you were a new member. Provide the new members with guidance, advice and instruction always with respect and courtesy.
2.6 All members are expected to read and adhere to the XDA rules.
3. Post only using a clear subject and message.
You're most likely to receive a helpful answer to your question if you use a short subject title that describes your problem and a message that explains in detail what your problem is and what you've tried to solve it.
4. Use the English language.
We understand that with all the different nationalities not everyone speaks English well, but please try. If you're really unable to post in English use an online translator, You're free to include your original message in your own language below the English translation.
5.Post a message only once.
As a large forum we don't need unnecessary clutter, You're free to edit your message as you like, so if you do not receive an answer revisit your message and see if you can describe your problem better. Not everyone is online at the same time, it might take a while before you receive an answer.
6. Do not post warez.
If a piece of software requires you to pay to use it, either pay or find your cracks and serials somewhere else. We do not accept warez nor do we permit any member to promote or describe ways in which Warez, cracks, serial codes or other means of avoiding payment, can be obtained.
7. Do not spam.
If you wish to advertise a product, contact us we provide ads. But do not post it in the forums, it will be removed and you're likely to receive a ban.
You are however allowed to sell used goods like your own device, parts of your device or accessories for your device in the marketplace forum, please read the rules there before posting. (This rule includes signatures, if you use a signature it will appear in your post)
8. Donations.
We appreciate all donations to xda-developers.com, it keeps our forum online and well maintained. As a user you're allowed to ask for donations in your signature as a thank you for your hard work. However donations up front are not allowed, this forum is about sharing, not about getting paid to do something, that's what your job is for.
9. Don't get us in trouble.
Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things that will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably don't want to do it here either. This does not mean we agree with everything the software piracy lobby try to impose on us, it simply means you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with legal hassle caused by you. Please use common sense: respect the forum, its users, and those that write great code.
10. Help others if you can.
If you see posts from others where you can help out, please do. This place exists because people are helping each other, and even if you are relatively new to the matter, there's probably already quite a few people newer than you that would benefit from what you've learned. Don't be shy.
11. Don’t post with the intention of selling something.
Don’t use XDA to advertise your product or service. Proprietors of for-pay products or services, may use XDA to get feedback, provide beta access, or a free version of their product for XDA users and offer support, but not to post with the intention of selling. This includes promoting sites similar/substantially similar to XDA-Developers.com.
Do not post press releases, announcements, links to trial software, or commercial services. unless you’re posting an exclusive release for XDA-Developers.com.
Encouraging members to participate in forum activities on other phone related sites is prohibited.
Off-site downloads are permitted if the site is non-commercial and does not require registration.
Off-site downloads from sites requiring registration are NOT encouraged but may be permitted if the following conditions are met:
A) the site belongs to a member of XDA-Developers with at least 1500 posts and 2 years membership who actively maintains XDA-Developers' support thread(s) / posts, related to the download,
B) the site is a relatively small personal website without commercial advertising/links (i.e. not a competitor forum-based site with purposes and aims similar to those of XDA-Developers.com.)
12. Using the work of others.
If you are developing something that is based on the work of another Member, you MUST first seek their permission, and you must give credit to the member whose work you used. If a dispute occurs about who developed / created a piece of work, first try to settle the matter by private message and NOT in open forum. If this fails then you may contact a moderator with clear evidence that the work was created by you.
Convincing evidence will result in copied work being removed. If there is no clear evidence you created the work then in the spirit of sharing all work will remain posted on the forums.
These rules apply to all software posted on XDA unless that software comes with a license that waives these rules.
13. Advertising and Income Generation
Commercial advertising, advertising referral links, pay per click links and other income generating methods are forbidden. Do not use xda-developers as a means to make money.
14. Create only one User Account
You are allowed one User Account at xda-developers. If you create additional accounts, Moderators will disable them and your original account may also be disabled or infracted.

@admin: Could you please delete my posts from this thread ?
So since I haven't really talked about myself or introduced myself or anything like that, here goes:
My name's Jim, I live in Illinois. I'm a satellite technician for an exclusive Dish contractor, so I work a lot of hours.
I'm not a fan of political correctness, in fact I despise it, I'm white, not Caucasian, people are not "insert race here"-American, they do not hold dual citizenships, they are just plain Americans, I do not call myself Canadian-American, I'm American, born and raised. I know a lot of you are from other countries so that probably doesn't bother nor affect you much. Just giving you guys an idea of who I am.
I'm an easy going guy that believes is free speech and as such I will generally let a lot of stuff go, unless it gets reported by other members, then my hands are tied and something has to be done.
As far as XDA goes, I'm just another member that loves what XDA is all about, and I'm no different than anyone else here. Other than having the ability to clean up threads and the unfortunate duty (yes I said dooty) of punishing people when they don't follow the rules. I don't like doing that and whenever possible I will give plenty of warning before anything serious. Please feel free to pm me if you ever are unhappy with something I did or didn't do. Mods are not perfect, and we may lock something that shouldn't be locked. If you feel I punished you or locked something that wasn't deserved, please pm me, I will explain my side and we can go from there, like I said I'm easy.
Anyways, thanks for reading, I know it's TLDR
Are u satellite technician...? Oh wow...! I really like to collect every info related to space technology, space science, black hole theories, aliens etc...!
Great to see personality like jim here as a mod.
I am from india and very techie by nature. Somehow I addict to Xda. But I am IT student RIGHT looking for a job.
As you have 3d phone I would like to ask you how is its performance? I am thinking to purchase here but I think its too early to decide , its just 1 generation 3d phone . And I also feel its has a good 2d hardware but at asphalt 3d demo I feel pictures render little slowly. So what do you think in 3d (LG or evo) or S2?
Little off topic: I watched sessybobs at youtube channel, Bro she is a bomb specially that!! Did you know her? And ever had chat or something with her.
Sent from my GT-I9003 using Tapatalk
I should rephrase that I guess. I work for a company that installs and repairs Dish Network service. So I guess I'm more of a dumb installer, lol.
On the 3D, I think the phone is great, the 3D it self is a gimmick and I never use it myself. It does work pretty good, I'm just not that into the 3D thing. I bought the phone for the performance and bigger screen that it offered over my EVO Shift. As far as performance, it's the fastest phone I've owned and other than a little issue here and there from roms, I haven't had anything to complain about.
And about SassiBoB. If only, lol, wow. She has a lucky man, that's all I'll say there.
Well I guess I should formally introduce myself too.
I love android and all the open-sourceness it stands for. I'm 32, married with 3 kids, and I drive a tugboat for a living. Been on the water for about 12 years now. I'm currently working as captain, with ambitions of being a (ship) pilot someday. Here's my tugboat:
I'm a nice guy, but don't cross me.
Glad to be here and making this the best spot to find info and help for your SL i9003.

Echoe Rom Forum Hypocrisy and Deceit

As a disclaimer, I'm a light participant, I like to root and play around with custom roms and have been lurking around for a few years learning from XDA. That said, though I don't wish to join any wars, I do feel it necessary to call this as I see it. This was just my experience, and seeing what I view as hypocrisy, deception and retaliation, felt I should post it. Ymmv
Short version, echoe banned me, deleted all my posts, and labeled me a "Major C**t", for simply asking a question and calling out their hypocrisy and deceitful behavior. I've paid for their apps before, but I'll stick with XDA exclusively now. Echoe seems to keep evolving and making new reasons to charge for content, always under the premise of theft by some XDA developer. Yet after this incident, it's clear to me Echoe simply wants to be paid for their work, which is fine on the surface, and I previously did just that to access current AEL kernel development. But in practice they seem to just flame XDA and develop new revenue schemes on that premise. Then deceive, edit posts, and ban users (paid users mind you) for simply asking what's up with your access policy and why the policy mysteriously got edited?
Background, I previously had used the AEL kernel on my Sprint Note 4 (N910P). For various reasons Echoe had chosen to leave XDA, but you could access content from their forum. Then you needed a pro app if you wanted to access content sooner than it was posted to their forum. So, I purchased the pro app and was a member in their forum.
Fast forward a few months, I'm now done with my Note 7 debacle and back to my Note 4. Check playstore for echo creations pro update and no go, so is gone. Go to the echoe forum (echoerom.com) to see what's up.
I see this post http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...w-to-access-the-private-non-stop-development/
Indicating "Premium" content for a fee, with access to private forums being granted free to members registered at least 9-12 months.
As i have no access to this new "premium" content, I posted a thread stating I've not visited the site in awhile, but according to that post, I should have access, unless I read it wrong.
I recevied one reply, linked to the post I referenced, except the post was now edited to remove any reference to free access to this "premium" content for prior members. See edited post here http://www.echoerom.com/thread/1742...on-stop-development/?postID=245814#post245814
As I was certain that post was edited, and with my original thread being locked after just that one reply to edited post, I naturally inquired through a new thread. Including links to the cached version and questioning the now locked thread.
Which resulted in all my threads/posts being deleted, being banned, and of course the deragoty label.
So yeah, beware of www.echoerom.com and their constant evolving revenue schemes, and especially of their closely held non-public forum.
It's funny when people think they can just do whatever they want and assume others are too stupid to their blatant attempts to deceive. The funnier thing is, had I received some kind of response indicating I for whatever reason still needed to pay the "premium" fee, I likely would have. The whole deceitful response was unnecessary.
...Just wondering what you are expecting from all this?

Nothing, just putting it out there to inform people. I'm positive there's talented developers over there, but if anybody is considering paying for access there, expect that to be temporary until they come up with a new fee. It's a shame because they could just be upfront and honest and people would likely pay.

[Sharing thread] Friends and Family Codes

If you have a code to share then post it publicly, here. Whoever grabs it first can have it, then.
Code requests will get deleted from this thread without further warning.
Selling stuff on XDA isn't allowed.
The Forum Rules said:
7. Do not spam, sell or trade on the forums.
If you wish to advertise a product, simply contact us. We can provide ads but you are not permitted to just post it in the forums. If you do, it will be removed and you're likely to receive a ban.
The buying, selling, trading and / or exchanging of any item is now prohibited on XDA, in any forum or via Private Messages. We now use www.swappa.com
You can add updates to your thread (ie new features for an app., etc), BUT only update if you are posting relevant to the topic and NOT with the sole purpose of getting the thread to the top of the page (known as "bumping") otherwise it will be considered as spam.
11. Don’t post with the intention of selling something.
Don’t use XDA to advertise your product or service. Proprietors of for-pay products or services, may use XDA to get feedback, provide beta access, or a free version of their product for XDA users and to offer support, but not to post with the intention of selling. I posted in another thread about him.

Are these codes still available? I already have one but I am getting one for my company where we develop a native mobile app development platform.
I'm curious if any sort of codes are still available to use, as well. My HTC U11 is starting to take a big dump on me with hardware issues and I'd rather not wait 2-5 months for them to repair it.
I was an original PH-1 user, who pre-ordered it from the beginning. Long story short, I had to return it for a refund due to quite a few issues. But I'm well aware that they've made large strides since its initial launch late last summer.
I know the PH-1 is down to $500 and includes their earbuds for free, but I'm still a bit wary due to where the company may be in the (near) future. Also that it's on last year's specs, but that isn't a huge deal to me.
I loved the size and design of it, especially as flagships from this year are typically 6" or larger in screen size. An S8 or S9 is definitely out of the question, as I enjoy working on custom development (primarily from a personal standpoint) and Samsung locks down their devices completely in the US.
I'd greatly appreciate any help, but I understand if codes are nonexistent at this point.
