I got an Htc Evo 4g for christmas. I decided to try and root it so i found the method described here It looked like it was going good until the when it just stopped. I waited for at least 30 minutes and it did absolutely nothing. I took the battery out and tryed to turn on my phone but it keeps getting stuck on the loading screen and will not doing anything at all. Please Help me!

just realised about unlocking it, you should root and flash ur phone with a new custom ROM, hold the down button and power button down when phone is off, mess around with the settings.
hi everyone i pretty new at all this and i know alot of you are going to tell me that i could have searched it but i have look and i just cant seem to find the right answer.... i bought an evo off a guy on craigslist and the phone was working fine he told me it was rooted and when i got the phone it had fresh 3.2 on it... while having the phone i went threw an update to 3.4 and everything worked fine ... well i tried to update to the 3.5 and so much went wrong. i downloaded the file and tried to flash it and when i did that i couldnt get the phone to turn on would just go to the white htc evo4g screen... so i tried and tried and nothing so i went to my backup rom which was fresh 3.2 after i did that i was just going to try and start over on fixing the phone... after i did that i tryed to boot into recovery and now i cant even do that.. it goes into the boot loader then when i click the recovery button just goes to the white htc screen and stops there i have to pull the battery just to get the phone back on..... does anyone know what i can do... i tryed to just re root the phone and when i did that it said main version is older and it wouldnt go to the next step i guess .... really frustrated please help... and when i was going to from the 3.4 too 3.5 i cleared all the data and i cleared permissions or parmision i forgot what it said .. i thought i rememered doing that last time but that might have been my mistake? and if so how do i fix this
yesterday I downgraded and rooted my Inspire 4G using this guide
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/AT&T_Inspire_4G:_Firmware_Downgrade_(Gingerbread)
I followed the guide most thoroughly and it gave me no errors what so ever. But I guess somewhere after installing the PD98IMG.zip my phone started acting funny
I would restart it to flash a custom ROM (Revolution HD) but it would take forever to boot up.
First (after I click the Power Button) it waits for about 10-15 mins to actually turn on to the HTC Logo. After that another 10 mins stuck on HTC Logo and VIBRATING constantly the whole time. After the 10 mins of vibration it waits for about 4-5 mins before it shows the "quietly brilliant" and then it starts normal!! with everything ok (rooted with the latest ARHD ROM!!)
It's not that I'm gonna be restarting it on a daily basis or anything but you know how annoying it is to have such a problem... whenever I wanna flash a ROM tweek it takes me more than an hour.
Any suggestions on what I should do? (I flashed also the recommended radio.img for my ARHD as well - took me another 40 mins as well)
UPDATE: Another problem I just found out as well, the speakers (when I picked up a phone call) seem to be somewhat crackling! the voice isn't as clear as it used to be...

You have just messed your bootloader up. You did what you are not suppossed to. You have to fix the hboot in order to have a working phone again....

I see that the OP's next question might be how to fix this..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342791
this thread, I believe is basically the same problem and that OP gave a pretty detailed step by step on how he fixed it.
that was helpfuly guys thx a lot. But it's not clear in the second post if only using the Advanced Ace Hack Kit is enough to return it back to normal... is the goldcard the only possible way (I'm asking this cause I had bad luck with finding a working memory card)
So I have had my S3 rooted for a long while. But the past few weeks it's been running a bit slower. This week it started randomly turning off. I thought it was my battery at first. But then when I tried to turn it back on it got stuck at the Galaxy s3 screen and would not get into the OS.
I tried to get into recovery, it froze on the splash screen. I made sure both were actually frozen by leaving it sitting there for 30 min to an hour.
Tried to flash using this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1974114
It kept just sitting at writing NAND.
Now my phone says "Firmare Upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode in kies and try again"
Kies will not connect my device. It sees it but will not complete the connection. I tried using the model and IMEI number to upgrade firmware but it still would not connect to do that.
More searching lead me to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581166&page=11
But I can't get into OS or recovery so I don't think this would work.
Any suggestions on what I can do from here? I only really need the phone to work for a few more months. My old Droid incredible just doesn't cut it at this point.
Sorry to bump, but nobody has anything for this? I haven't really found any other options.
Your bootloader is fine so that thread won't help you. What was the last version of touch wiz that was on your phone before you ran into problems?
I am having problems with booting up my phone. This all started when i dropped my phone, the screen seems to be looking good, it is rooted with CyanModgen 10. So when i try to boot my phone it will only show me the HTC logo white screen for a few minutes and would automatically get off, i tried to do it a lot of times but the same thing would be showing up again. I have reset all of my data and then worked on it again but the same thing would be keep repeating again and again. Please if anybody would provide me some piece of advice i'll be glad to have it from you!! because that is the only phone i want to use!!!
Are you able to boot into bootloader or recovery?
