Anyone know of any Gyroscope enabled apps?
Would be cool if the "Compass Mode" in Maps supported the gyroscope, would make it more accurante and less jittery I think.
+1 id love this
+2 I liked how the iPhone demo'd it I'd love to see it implemented into games or apps
There's some Snake games on the Market that says you can select which sensor to use, even the gyroscope, but the one I tried the game didn't start at all.
I found this video today
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JQz7EOHAwE
I would like to know what these guys are using to test the gyro on the NS.. Actually I am not sure this app is actually testing the app or the compass / accelorometer.
any ideas?

I would like to know if there is an app or maybe dev can make a rom that will allow sgs2 (android) phone user to able to rotate left to landscape away from holding the back where the cpu is when it gets extremely hot when u browser the internet using dolphine hd or playing hd games for 30mins+ ..if u got a sgs2 phone u know what i mean.
example, when u playing samuria II vengence (using chainfire3d - nvida or powervr mode works 100%) holding the phone landscape sgs2 default landscape (rotate right mode) where ur left-hand is placed near the cpu/camera it will start to get really hot after 20mins+ play, but if u rotate/flip the phone around (only this game allow to orientated perfectly) ur hands r placed perfectly away from the cpu/camera which allow u to play long period without heat issue n the heat/cpu/camera r not covered by ur hands allowing the cpu to heat/cool in free air.
I have search all over the internet n has not come to any apps that will allow permantly rotate to that landscape view..the closest apps was control rotate but its only for text/browser net, but won't allow permantly for games.
anyone can help pls pm me or reply are welcome or ppl have similair problem or been searching every for an answer also welcome to add coments. i'm sure alot of sgs2 phone user know what im talking about. samsung has not thought about this before they make this phone about cpu heat issue, but can be easily fix with an opposite/flip landscape rotation left mode default lock. nokia n95 8gb allow all games to freely rotate which ever way the user wishes to..if only someone can fix this problem with the sgs2.
list of sgs2 games that will not rotate left/flip the default landscape view over even with auto rotation on (away from cpu when u are playing for 20-30min) [hand not over cpu/camera] are:
backstab (chainfire3d - qualcom mode works 100%)
spiderman hd
golf hd
golf 2 hd
hawx hd
splinter cell hd
modern combat hd
guerrillabob
avatar hd
real football 2011 hd
dungeon hunter 1 and 2 hd
assassin creed hd
hero of sparta hd
asphalt 6 hd
gt racing hd
gangstar hd
fishing kings hd
need for speed shift (chainfire3d - powervr mode works 100%)
....and many others
I have used all roms to test this problem but they do not rotate to that mode away from cpu or or fix the heat problem after 15min-30mins+ game play. i'm using latest litening' rom v1.5 thx to litepro, could someone please post this on his forum since i don't have enough post due to new member requirement. This way he could come up with a solution to his next rom version and i think it's a great idea, i'm sure all sgs2 phone owner would like this heat issue to go away or away from their hands/fingers when surfing net with dolphine hd or all those games i mentioned above with such an easy fix screen rotate left/flip lock opposite to cpu/camera when u use it for more than 15-20mins+.
thanks.
From the limited android dev experience I have, I don't think it's possible since the orientation is hardcoded into the app itself. A custom rom might be able to do it, but that would take quite some hacking.
Found this earlier while on the Nook Color forum...Apparently the app was ripped from a HTC Flyer. Anyway, It's pretty sweet to watch the Arena mode live games that are going on all over the planet...The brag videos are cool as well. Curious how the latest FPS runs on a fully optimized pc and server? Be sure to check out (finally) all the Duke Nukem greatness.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138194 You do have to create an account (free), It's WiFi only, of course, and maneuvering thru the panes and choosing options is a little dicey on a 4.3" screen (better on a tablet like the Nook), but once you choose a game to watch, It works wonderfully. Apparently there will be a player app coming soon. Those with Roms that support HDMI out should DEFINITELY get this...Check it out.

I installed it as well on non-rooted Android 2.3.3. I thought the video was a touch dark, and had a touch a video lag/drop frames/skipping. Though, those could be the phone or the connection to OnLive. Overall, none of it was anything to ruin the experience.
There is a preference on the phone that lets you set the data cap for bandwidth of either HD (3Mbps) or SD (1.5Mbps).
I did notice not all the games on OnLive were available to spectate such as Bordlands, NBA2K11, and Mafia II. This could be some kind of licensing issue.
Hey Im a Noob..
im just install game such as MX Moto, NFS 2 i see i cant steering because my compass is not working or the tilt not working.
everytime im hold my TF101 on flat, the steering goes to right side.
but when im using photaf my compass working fine.
what happen to my TF101??
cant somebody help me..
i know the issue if you tap the zoom button and hit stretch sometimes that fixes it but for right now the issue is that the accelerometer is alligned in a 90 degree angle to where it would normally be on a phone. try the tegra racing games those should work fine
I tried the tegra-zone jetski racer, and it was ok. I can't say I'm a fan of tilting my tablet to steer. Instead of 'rotating' the screen, I found I had a tendency to tilt it back and forth as well.
then i hooked up a wii remote and it was freakin awesome. I would recommend some sort of game pad if you really want to play some racing games...
Lots of games are not designed for landscape mode and the tablet wont display them in portrait so you have landscape display with portrait tilt settings
Nothing you can do until the game is updated
both of the asphalt games work though you just have to modify your build.prob for 6
Asphalt 6 works without modifying. Am running it on stock 3.2.
Check the gameloft games thread.

An alternative to MOGA Universal.
Instead of handling everything Bluetooth related like MOGA Universal, MOGA VK uses MOGA Pivot to handle the controller connections. This change yields some benefits and some losses. Take your pick of app for what you need.
The star feature of the app is the automatic profiles based on foreground app.
Usage is as simplistic as possible. Add profiles, add apps to profiles, customize button mappings, play!
Feedback appreciated.

I have the MogaVK app installed on a Nexus 7 2013. It works flawless. Just curious, I havent found a solution for this as of yet but, does this support controlling the Android UI?
It seems MogaVK seems to only recognize user apps. I've tried to reinstall Android UI as a user app (which fails miserably). Any suggestion or works for a rooted version that can handle complete screen control?
My reasons are simply because I have a slight crack in the wrong place which has caused me to lose total touch control capabilities. So, I use Mobizen for setup and Dragon to open apps. My Nexus is pretty much just a monitor for playing retro games. But, I'm sure many people would find this useful.
Anyway, your app is great. Much better than the Universal Driver (in my opinion), which didnt even recognize my controller at all. Great work.
I want to play modern combat 5 using moga pocket. Will it work?

Hi guys, I don't know if this is kind of an off topic and is not meant as commercial but I found a great app that uses my wear device as a game controller.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.coreaplikacije.tennis
I've been playing it for two days now on my Moto 360 and it's fun.
The only thing you need to do is to go to options and select manual calibration cause Moto 360 says that it has an magnetometer so app thinks it can use automatic
calibration but as it seems Moto 360 does not have magnetometer, or so I'm told.
Follow instructions on screen for calibration to calibrate it, it's a bit strange at first but after you get a hang on it it's better than wii, and you can also connect your phone
to a TV and play like that, would be great to have a phone with TV connectivity to play it on a big TV screen.
Indeed very fun to play, but also VERY hard. Tried it with sending my phone screen to my TV using a Chromecast and playing like that. Didn't work out so well.
It's also very cool to show-off to your friends haha, they are already amazed by the Moto 360 and now even more.
Hello,
I am one of the developers of this game and just found this thread...
Can you be more specific on why is it so hard? When we were fine tuning the game before its release, we were actually afraid it was very easy, but we thought it was because we are used to gameplay.
Also, sending the display to another screen should make no difference.
Make sure you do correct calibration when game is installed on a device without magnetometer. Using our latest update calibration is not needed if both devices have magnetometer and thus relative position of racket to tennis field is known.
Moto 360 is specific because it reports that it has magnetometer, while in fact it does not! Therefore you have an option to force manual calibration and its "fake" magnetometer will continue to work.
sounds cool as F!
