An alternative to MOGA Universal.
Instead of handling everything Bluetooth related like MOGA Universal, MOGA VK uses MOGA Pivot to handle the controller connections. This change yields some benefits and some losses. Take your pick of app for what you need.
The star feature of the app is the automatic profiles based on foreground app.
Usage is as simplistic as possible. Add profiles, add apps to profiles, customize button mappings, play!
Feedback appreciated.

- Crash on Android 2.3 or less due to the LatinIME included in the app.
I have the MogaVK app installed on a Nexus 7 2013. It works flawless. Just curious, I havent found a solution for this as of yet but, does this support controlling the Android UI?
It seems MogaVK seems to only recognize user apps. I've tried to reinstall Android UI as a user app (which fails miserably). Any suggestion or works for a rooted version that can handle complete screen control?
My reasons are simply because I have a slight crack in the wrong place which has caused me to lose total touch control capabilities. So, I use Mobizen for setup and Dragon to open apps. My Nexus is pretty much just a monitor for playing retro games. But, I'm sure many people would find this useful.
Anyway, your app is great. Much better than the Universal Driver (in my opinion), which didnt even recognize my controller at all. Great work.
I want to play modern combat 5 using moga pocket. Will it work?

hello all. I have been searching around for an app that would allow me to use my android phone as a remote to play games on my honeycomb tablet.
The idea use for the app would be for playing accelerometer based games such as need for speed on the tablets that is inconvenient otherwise. if there's already a similar app, please point me to it. thanks

Working beautifully in my smart q t20 tab with an ipega BT controller.
I use option scr invert X and swap X/Y, in out device
Great work! Much better than sixaxis controller and free!!!
This could be a great tool to get some games working on an OUYA. I'll play around with this as soon as I have the time and report back! Thanks!
I have been able to get the ouya control sticks working by swapping x/y axises and inverting the x axis. So far I have set this up for dead tiger and minecraft.

are there any video tutorials? or step by step guides? Honestly I have no idea how to use this and didn't understand the wiki page
Exclude devices
Is there any way to exclude device that is conected beacause you dont want to use it in games?
for example i have Conectet to my ouya wireless usb keyboard and mouse witch i dont use in games...
without some tutorials, this is useless! i appreciate the time you spent making this but most of us here have no idea how to use it.
the videos on youtube show just some people paying games, no real DEMONSTRATION.
i'm using NYKO playpad pro and i can't control most of my games.
this might be the right app.
Awesome!
Thank you Tincore, I must say this app is very useful not only for gaming but for my home entertainment.
I use my S4 connected to TV via MHL adapter and ipega wireless controller, both works pretty good and setup is quite easy for me.
To make it more perfect, it possible to have auto load profile to a specific profile? because I want my non games use specific profile (with hybrid virtual pointer and home, back, etc shortcut so I can easily go around the launcher and other app movie, gallery from my couch) but when launching specific game, I want it to load specific game profile.
Also can you explain extra paid support feature below,
- Add extra touch controls? --> what other extra touch? why is it useful?
- Analog stick input? --> I dont understand, sorry
Each extra feature has different price and almost $25 for all features, do you have premium one with cheaper price
I don't see any overlaid buttons at all when I have my Moga connected to my Nexus 4. Are they supposed to show up automatically when I open Tincore?
Edit - figured it out, have to press buttons to get them to show up, working perfectly now
How do you do to use it with a bluetooth gamepad?
It doesn't seem to recongnize my gamepad if I hit the refresh option on tincore and click que bluetooth sync button on the gamepad, so how is it supposed to connect to the gamepad?
Is there someone who can help me to setup my moga pro to play at order and chaos?!

Open Tincore then minimize it. Open the game, launch Tincore while in the game (I use Smart Statusbar to help with this) then map the buttons. It couldn't be easier.
You really need to be more specific if you need help.
help
man.. i really need your help. i have lenovo s920 and.. i tried to pair it with ipega via tincore. but it doesnt work,, just force close. i try blueimez and bt joystick and it just the same. but only tincore can detect my ipega. my you have a solution..
my s920 run in jelly bean 4.2.1.
I still can't get a hang of it of Tincore Keymapper. Im trying mapped keys for touch screen games mc4, shadowgun, fifa, codboz, etc for use with xbox 360 wireless controller on a mk802iv android pc mini. Basically, whenever I make tincore visible to mapped out the touch screen keys, it either pause the game or black it out. I probably gonna have to use post-it notes to tape position of touch keys on my smart tv. Even opening the app is a pain in the ass cause most of the times it just force close out tincore. Plus, the 2 triggers buttons R2 and L2 are unusable in tincore.
Most of times, I learned how to use apps by tinking around for about a few minutes. I have been playing around with Tincore for a week now and still clueless about how to use it. wish there was a dumb-down tutorial on it.

Don’t know much about how compatibility is determined on the play store weather it’s up to the developer to say a device isn’t compatible. But I noticed on launch day nothing was really blocked due to compatibility but yesterday most of Gameloft’s library disappeared for me was curious if anyone was able to try Dungeon Hunter 4 & Order and Chaos on the shield.
Anyone have insight on why certain apps are being blocked?
It's a new device and normally will have to wait for game updates before certain company's list the Shield as compatible (its the game developers that enable compatibility lists on their Google dev accounts).
I do know Modern Combat 4 will work with controls on Sheild as its recently been updated with HID support but whether it's available to download is another story.
For now your probably better off sideloading games from another droid you own (if you do).

App developers can change their games compatibility. Gameloft, in general, doesn't support controller on many games, so I wouldn't be surprised if they started marking them as incompatible.
Do you happen to have a rooted phone or tablet? If you do you can download the games to that device and back them up with titanium backup. Then you can export the backup and import it to your shield if you have rooted your shield. You might be able to just pull the apk out of the titanium backup and sideload it on the shield if you have not or don't want to root the shield.
I did this exact thing with the game Avadon to get it on my Kindle Fire when I had that. It isn't pirating since you own the game and a lot of the time games will work on unsupported devices this way. Once you have them installed they typically show up in the market but will still say unsupported and not allow you to update them.
I would imagine without controller support those games would need an app like Gamekeyboard and root to emulate touch controls with the physical buttons. I am currently using that app to play Final Fantasy Dimensions with the Shield. The only thing I cannot do with the physical controls is browse the inventory out of combat. In combat and walking around I can use the physical controls fully. It's pretty awesome.
Evo_shift, how did you root the Shield? Thanks!
Edit: nvm, saw the thread.
Yeah, I was wondering why I couldn't find Modern Combat 4!

Don't need root to sideload from one phone to another (or tablet or shield).
ES File Explorer supports backing up apps to .apk without root permissions. From there you just copy the APK onto the shield, launch it in a file browser and android will install. No root required.
As for final fantasy. I guess no out of combat inventory is annoying, but at least you do have native touch.
My brother had a kindle fire, we used the ES file explorer method and since then have rooted the device, added the play store and a custom launcher. Shame that you have to do those mods but once you have its definitely a bargain. Missing bluetooth and camera etc, but its cheap and runs most things pretty well we've found.

Wow, cool. I had no idea something like that wouldn't require root.
The lack of bluetooth is why I ended up selling the Fire when the Nexus 7 was released. It did everything I wanted it to do just fine and I got it during one of Amazon's big refurbished sales and was my first tablet so I didn't want to spend a lot because I wasn't sure I would use it. Finding out I wasn't able to use a bluetooth gamepad was a real bummer to me. Now, my kids have basically taken over the Nexus (and they are only 4 and 2 years old but there are nice educational apps). The shield is my new toy that they will not have access to and basically replaces my Nexus 7 since I only used it for gaming
I contacted Gameloft and all they said there's nothing in the works, but when there is they will announce it. Lame

Not all games allow apk back up without root. There will be a little lock icon for the ones that are protected. I think all Gameloft games allow sideload, since the game checks your Google account during the first time opened to validate. Most games released in the past year (at least) still check the device if compatible, so even sideloading does not mean the game will actually work when you open it.
For modern combat, turn off mouse control via quick settings and the game works great.
im still waiting for my shield, does wild blood or nfs most wanted work?

NFS Most Wanted works (touch only).
Throwing this out there. If you like racing games, be sure to check out Asphalt 8. It works and is compatible with the Shield controller.
I install the dungeon hunter 4 and use the tincore keymapper to map the screen button and work like champ.

Are you able to set the graphics on very high on DH4?
Asphalt 8 is the first one im going to play when my shield gets here tomorrow.
i heard tegra 3 games should work/ these work on htc one x
so if anyone has:
Dungeon Hunter 2
9mm HD
would like to know the results.
Gangstar vegas works with touchscreen + high graphics mod from xda plays awsome
Im going to try mapping keys to it.
I've got a GS4 running 4.4.2 AOSP (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2544474) and I want to use my Moga Pro Power (http://androidspin.com/wp-content/up...-Pro-Power.png) to play games like NFS MW and emulators like Super Gnes but I get an infuriating lag of ~0.4 of a second between pushing a button and the action happening, making games like Super Mario World on Gnes impossible.
I've also tried a dualshock 3 controller over bluetooth and the lag is still there. If I use the PS3 controller plugged in with an OTG then the input lag is still there (less than ~0.4s but still definately noticeable. Is there anything I can do to improve the lag since I've read reviews and other xda threads which say the Moga works great?
What can cause input lag from an external device? Thanks

as you started with the moga pro i was going to say that the moga definitely has input lag, its not a bad controller but still has some problems, as for the dualshock 3 aswell, i dont know what to tell you. what app are you using to map the buttons to the emulator? the normal moga pivot app or?
Yeah I'm just using the regular moga pivot app. It's not just within apps, it's even when using the controller to navigate around android What can cause input lag (even wired)? I have modified dalvik and bionic caches on my S4 (also on my N7, which also has the input lag) so could that be it?

im not sure about that, there are some emulator apps such as Mupen64+AE (N64 emu) that you shouldnt launch from the pivot app and should have better input. try using this instead https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.obsidianx.android.mogaime for all your emulators, its LOTS better than the pivot app which the pivoit app is only compatable with whatever apps moga wants and this will be compatible with anything that can bind keys.
Thanks for that but this doesnt get around the issue of noticeable lag just using android, a dualshock and wired, I'm seriously tempted to just go and buy a JXD S7800B for gaming and use the moga as a glorified battery pack
I have note 3, but i miss the features that shield had like the touch controls to physical controller mappings.
Is there a very smiliar software like that i can get on my note 3 which does exactly the same but to a ps3/ps4 controller? Cause i really liked to play android games with controllers but i don't want to buy a new shield just for that. (not like the shield supports that many great games either)
No one knows?
Any software that is smiliar which can do exactly what the shield's "console mode" mapper does?
There's an app called tincore, free on the play store. A lot of people had success with it, though I tried to play minecraft with and it didn't work well. There are even downloadable layouts if you search for it...
Yeah, too advanced for me too. tried it several times, plus the bloody app uses too long to start up
