If you're a Tekzilla fan, you may be aware of the Set Top Box Megalist that Veronica Belmont created to share information about set top boxes, such as Boxee, etc.
I've created a Tablet Megalist on Google Docs to share info about all the tablets out there. Check it out and add information if you have it. Share the link to anyone you think might benefit from it.
I can't post links yet, so click on my profile (under contact info) and the link is my homepage link. I'll update this post later when it lets me post a link.

Hi all,
i don't know if this has been made known before but anyway here is a link http://www.freecabs.de/ to a site that serves to provide ppc users a place to find free/commercial softwares/games in cab file-ready format and zip. just to mention a few like Pocket Rar, PPC Skype, Mem Release, VLC Media Player (that can stream video), Virtual Earth Mobile, UI tweaker etc. As for version compatibility, as most is not mentioned, i guess it's up to the user to find out.
I've tried to look for the proprietor's name of this website but could not find any so i could not pay any tribute directly as yet but anyway if he/she reads this, "A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU" so if any of you guys do find his/her name please mention it here. he/she did tho' include his/her e-mail "[email protected]". I think he/she deserves our thank you.
Cheers. (P.S as the url suggest softwares are free but i could not confirm this as i don't use much of them only those that i need)
The site is by Holger Schmidt
Danke Holger
Yes, i'm sorry. it's listed just below the title. Thanks.
And thank you again, Holger Schmidt.
Freecabs - Metro City Navigation
Métro Ver. 5.4.4 is cool. 350 cities.. and it's free!
If you have ever been lost in Munich, you know what I'm talking about.
well freecabs is great. But the site is really a portal for OTA downloads. All apps belong to their seperate owners.

Hello All,
I am a new member and have been lurking here for several weeks trying to learn about the Android tablets and, in particular, the Transformer. This one sounds like the model I want to invest in. I am somewhat on in years so I don't have a lot of the backround knowledge on a lot of the technical types of things I read discussed on this forum so I was wondering if I could ask a favor from the group. One of the main things I want to do with the tablet is read scanned copies of scientific journals, books, magazines, etc. I'm assuming the Transformer can do this easily. However, I also want to read newspapers. I live in the Atlanta area and I subscribe to the Atlanta Journal/Constitution. They have a web-based version which contains the full content of the newspaper. I can read it on my desktop, but I have been unable to load the site on Android demo units at Best Buy (maybe because Flash 10.2 isn't installed?). Could someone try to load a demo of the AJC on their Transformer and tell me if it loads correctly and if you can read the content? The link follows and it is free, requiring no registration.
OK - it appears as a new member I can't enter a link so I'll try to describe it.
the link is e-edition dot ajc dot com. And then click on 'View Demo'.
It is a split screen with kind of a table of contents on the left and the main content on the right. I would be most appreciative if some brave soul could give this a try and report back.
many thanks in advance,
Brian
I wouldnt say the interface was very smooth or anything, but it does work. And the pinch to zoom works too to let you zoom in on the buttons to see them easier. Couple of screenshots attached for you to see. One landscape mode and the other in portrait.
Personally I much prefer PDF files as they work a lot better. But obviously not everything is available as a pdf. There is an app (called PressReader) that lets you subscribe to a huge amount of newspapers included on the transformer, it's not free though, although it does let you test out about 5 copies of papers of your choice first.
Edit: There's a massive list of USA papers and I'm not spending all day looking for the atlanta ones, but a quick search with the search box didnt show up anything with the name "Atlanta" in that app.
Many, many thanks, stuntdouble. I have to admit I was a bit distressed when I couldn't get it to work at Best Buy (I even started looking at iPads). Now I'm sold and will patiently await the next shipment of Transformers.
Another option for your newspaper is to go through PressDisplay. The My Library application included on the TF comes with a 7 day trial. There is also a separate PressDisplay application available in the Market.
I use PressDisplay to read The Washington Post and I really like how PressDisplay makes a full size newspaper work on a 10" screen.
Thanks, Jerirat. It appears the AJC isn't offered by them as yet. Maybe in the future?
AJC is indeed available in the included pressdisplay app.
Hey Brian, I'm in metro Atlanta and read the AJC everyday on the Transformer. It actually looks better to me on the Asus than on my desktop......
ok I just reread ur post and tried the e-edition. at the moment it says the "server application is unavailable"... I'll try again later
Thanks, mb2k. Fool that I am, I was looking under the "A's" in the list for 'Atlanta...' and there it was under 'T' for "The Atlanta..." Should have known <head slap>.
Brian
Thanks, rrushhour - do you use the AJC link or Pressdisplay?
I use the ajc link. As others have said, the e edition does work...just went to it.
Just got a Transformer, very nice, but for some reason the Facebook app does not show the Timeline/Profile for myself or others. By this I mean the newish feature where you see a large image and underneath posts in chronological order for yourself and for friends.
Nor does the mobile site, only the full desktop site shows it.
Can someone with a TF300 who is with Facebook see if it is the same for them?
So, as many of you know, you are supposed to be able to sign PDFs with the note 5. Now, we all know you can get 3rd party apps, but Samsung was supposed to make it easier by integrating it. I googled how to do this, and found nothing. I finally figured it out, but it was my last resort. They actually expect you to import the pdf into the s-note app, sign it, then share the file in order to convert it back into a pdf. This is not at all how it was shown in the Unpacked event where the man went to the 'my files' app, tapped the pdf, signed it, and then tapped save, and proclaimed he was done.
I don't promote my blog. in fact, I just started it for when I google a problem, find no solution, and then find my own. I'll make a blog post so hopefully google will pick it up and other's will be helped. Anyways, I made a blog post detailing above (the unpacked event, vs. the real solution). If this abridged version doesn't make sense hopefully my blog post will make more sense: http://wp.me/p6D4BZ-p
But hopefully I put enough information in this post that you won't have to go to my blog. I don't want to come across as promoting myself.
My questions are along the lines of what do you guy's think? Have you found a better solution? Should we just ignore the whole thing and get 3rd party apps? Was Samsung misleading? Is it a verizon only thing? Etc.
i searched xda and google, I'm surprised no one is talking about it.
Before reading your blog I did as you did in your blog. I never watched the unpacked event so I can't say whether or not it was misleading in this regard.
That aside, I like that we can do it without a 3Rd party app, even if it's with using import/export.

There is a thread in the non-carrier Note 5 General section discussing this. It appears to be yet another item Verizon has not included . That built-in functionality is available on some versions. I just don't understand why carriers remove items like this...it is so frustrating. Someone did say that you can accomplish the task using Hancom Office that is included. I think Adobe Fill and Sign also works.
Hi Guys,
I have created this thread as I could not find any to discuss and share news about this new interesting feature (mentioned in the title) shown by Samsung at CES 2020.
In this demo video it can be seen from 0:33 that is being used on our beloved Tab S6. I can't wait to try it on any of my devices, but I think it could be the most useful on our tablets (or phones connected to DeX) if it works out well. I think they could add a virtual trackpad to it and using any stand you already have a quite good setup for everyday usage and also doing some business/educational stuff on the go (and at home of course)
Any opinions are welcomed and also any new information (release date/beta download) is appreciated!
