[Q] Boot loop on 3.11 - G Tablet General

I have searched for this problem in the GTab forum and was unable to find a re-occurrence.
So last night I just updated from 3.10 to 3.11. I went to run a benchmark test and it and quadrant kept on crashing when trying to show results. I then rebooted the device and was caught in a boot loop (just replaying the "nexus 1" screen) over and over. I then did a restore back to 2.5 (stupidly, my last backup I had done). Now I am stuck with a process error. "Android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". So I was going to just do a full restore (wipe the system and start from scratch) and now I cannot even get into system settings to do so. I need some help! I am in a bit over my head on this situation.
Thanks in advance.
**UPDATE**
After a Titanium backup restore, it appears to be back to normal and faster then ever...running 3.10. Time to update to 3.11 and call it a night.

You were able to sideload Titanium Backup?
How did you accomplish that?
I downloaded it using a Windows 7 computer, copied it from my download folder to the root of my tablet's internal memory -- I think, I didn't have any external cards in it that I saw --(where I normally ran update.zip from) and then loaded up the file explorer included in TNT Lite...
Only thing I get stuck with is, like you, a boot-looping tablet.

Well I have tnt lite 3.11 with the market fix and I was able to get it straight from there. It worked great as a solution to my problem and fixed everything.

[Q] **Stuck** Can anyone help with this problem?

I was running Paragon4 about a week or so, saw the update and then flashed
Paragon5 over it. The flash was successful, but I decided a few hours later
to just start over clean. So, I did the usual: flashed back to stock
(I897UCJF6) using Odin3 One-click Downloader, rooted using Galaxy S One-click
Root, downloaded ROM Manager from Market, installed it, and copied paragon-
rc5beta18.zip to /sdcard. All seemed ok up to this point, but then it got
weird when something that never happened before...happened . Here's the steps I took:
1) installed ROM Manager
2) selected Flash ClockworkMod Recovery
3) selected Galaxy S Captivate
4) "An error occured while downloading your recovery"
5) selected Galaxy S i9000
6) "Successfully downloaded ClockworkMod recovery"
selected Install ROM from SD Card
7) Chose ROM
8) Checked Wipe Data & Cache
9) Rebooted into Recovery
10) Selected Reinstall packetage
11) "E: Can't open /sdcard/update.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted"
12) Selected Reboot System Now
After going over the above several times, here's some of the other things
I've tried:
* deleted the update.zip file in /sdcard and manually transfered an old copy
of update.zip I had kept and tried reinstall packetage... nothing
* went thru process without sim and external sd in device...nothing
* reformated internal sd...nothing
* tried to restore a recently made nandroid backup thru cwm...nothing
* searched forum post after post for somthing similar to my
situation...nothing
* gave cappy my best pouty face...nothing
That's all I have. If anyone has any idea about what's going on, I'd really
appreciate the help. Thx.

Yeah, a number of times. Wanted to eliminate any random glitches that might happen.
Hang loose, looking
Try This
Try this:
Remove external sd.
Leave sim in
Flash back to stock
After Boot
Enable usb
Start Odin3
Connect phone to computer
Do Odin3 master clear
Remove phone from computer after phone boots
You should be good from here, back to stock
Find fresh copy of update.zip
ROOT your phone
You know the rest
lol
Just put a clockwork .zip on your phone and do it manually. I think the servers that host clockwork download are having problems

4349 with market

installed 4349 today....had some minimal trouble with this hack when installing mybackup pro images but works fine besides. anyways i wanted market and the other gapps on a stock rom with zero other changes. ie ota still works etc...
1. save the update.zip to your root drive on your gtablet
2. turn off then reboot pressing the power and volume-up key
3. choose wipe data/factory reset (must do or the next step will not work properly)
4. after it completes choose apply internal update.zip
5. reboot, allow android to stablize
6. run market (apps will show up but the following steps make sure more do)
7. run android settings-> applications -> system applications -> market
stop market
8. run android settings-> applications -> system applications ->google services frame work
clear data then force stop
9. reboot and your market should be fully functional.
link for to gapps on cyanogens site, remember to rename it as update.zip before saving to your gtab http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/gapps/gapps-mdpi-tegra-20101020-signed.zip
Thanks for taking the plunge. I'll give this a shot tonight when I get home and report back.
After I installed 4349 and booted up I took your linked file, renamed it update.zip, and rebooted the tab into recovery. I just flashed it and didn't do anything else. After the tablet rebooted I skipped some of the setup screens for Google framework and when I ran market it started to update apps automatically. So it worked without doing steps 3,7,8 & 9 for me, although updating Angry Birds from market made the tablet quick reboot... Which was fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling. Everything else works ok.
times i tried to skip step 3 the gapps package would not install properly. it would stop early on the install progress bar and no market or any other apps showed up on reboot. as for steps 7,8,9 those are market fix steps...few apps were missing and those are needed to get them to show up. though the default market is much much fuller then previous hacks. would love to know if anyone else has any other issues similar to mine or not.
also has anyone got myback pro working on 4349. i can install it from market but as soon as i restore any of my programs my reboot-up freezes on the tnt logo. only cure is to nvflash and reinstall.
Tried this a few times with a fresh 4339 installed, followed the steps exactly, but never get the google apps to show up. Oddly, during the install of the update.zip, the tablet resets, and boots normally. I expected to be returned to recovery after installing the update.zip
i have done the fix several times now with the same needs step wise and results...mainly cause i am trying to figure out mybackup pro cause it keeps borking by device and i have to nvflash and start over. turbo you did all the steps and didn't get the gapps package working? make sure your stock 4349 other wise the bluish CWM like thing isn't there to load update.zip's. otherwise i am at a loss? anyone else having trouble?
I an ran through all the steps up to 6.... but now there is no Market app.
I checked the update zip that was on my root (/sdcard is what I assume you mean by root as there is where the other update.zip is, though I initially assumed you meant / as the root) and it is the one that was downloaded from here.
What am I missing? It seems to be it installed the basic 4349
the only way i get those results you speak of is when i omit step 3. are you rebooting between as i am not.
I did step 3 as I had to run through the setup again.
I did not reboot in between step 3 and step 4.
should this work if i installed clockwork after the update?
I just went through it again, step by step, and it did the exact same thing. No Market.
Just to clarify, when I hit apply internal update.zip, the gTab reboots for me. In your instructions you say reboot. When mine boots it takes me into the first time user setup for the gTab, which is UELA, timezone, wireless, username then into the Non-Classic (not sure what it is called, but the one with the weather, news, etc) UI.
haven't used cwm with 4349 as i heard it crashes it though a very similar interface is built into this stock rom.

Yes, followed all steps, from a completely stock 4349 (with the 4349 recovery), and no gapps installed.
Justin
if you have done the steps exactly i am not sure what to tell you. and yes it should reboot itself. i have tried the fix a dozen times with no issues so i am not sure what it is your doing differant if anything at all. as of right now i can't reproduce anymore results on 4349 as its not showing up on the OTA anymore as my mybackup pro borked me into yet another install. is 4349 still showing up for other people?

Can you verify that when you say root you mean /sdcard/?
Outside of the Market is there any way to tell if it did it right, like some file someplace? I checked the /system/app folder and it has none of the apps that were in your update.zip in the app folder, does this mean anything?
I renamed my old update.zip to update_old.zip, could this cause a problem?
yes the root drive i spoke of is /sdcard. i do not think your renamed file should cause a conflict though you might try deleting it and see. again the only time i had this trouble was when i didn't do a factory wipe first...every other time it has worked but i don't know if their is some trouble with 4349 as it seems to have been pulled from the OTA in the last half hour. can anyone else confirm the OTA now set back to 3588?
I deleted update_old.zip, and no dice.
If you come up with some troubleshooting steps I am happy to try them.

Don't apply Clockwork .08, you will soft brick your tab.
Well I applied the gapps using clockworkmod from roebeet for 1.2 bootloaders and everything flashed fine. Running the latest version so I dunno.

Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped.

As per my title, I'm getting this error message constantly after restoring my most recent backup of CM9 RC2. This was shortly before I started testing other ROM's (Hydro and CleanROM). The message comes back every single second, and I can barely get taps inbetween. Shutting the tablet off is a chore.
There are numerous threads on this error but they are all problems occurring on phones, not tablets, so I felt it appropriate to re-post. Any ideas to get this to go away? I don't have another recent backup so I'd like to be able to fix this without having to re-do all my work
Pertinent information:
Was using TF300T with CM9RC2 beforehand. Made nandroid backups, began testing other ROM's that required me to revert back to stock a few times. Have already tried restoring backup after factory reset, with cache and dalvik wiped. Pushing files to tablet on a Windows 7 PC using ADB, and everything on that end works fine. Also, if I dismiss the com.android.phone error, there are a number of other processes that have stopped working in the background as well, so the tablet is unusable.
Thanks,
Opethfan89
I've got a minor update to this issue, in that I decided to poke around in one of the backups that I know is a working backup, and found where the com.android.phone process is located (the /data partition, I guess).
So my question becomes, is there a way for me to manually load a nandroid backup and select/choose which files I restore from which folder? So if I get a com.android.phone folder from one backup and combine it into the backup that is messing me up, would that potentially work?
Also, how do I get access to the /data, /cache and other partitions on my tablet? Can I browse them through Windows Explorer or do I have to use Root Explorer on the tablet?
It's been four days, *BUMP*? Any responses?
My suggestion is do a clean install of the rom you want, forget about the backups and see if it works with a fresh install

While installing different roms on my device i learned to always do a full delete of cache, delvick cache, factory and last system. Always did it in that order. Maybe there is not very much logic to it since system will do all of it but that's what i did. I'm not sure what kind of recovery your using but I would recommend TWRP, but i doubt that's the issue.
Hope this helped
Thanks for the responses, guys.
I was not able to find a resolution to this error code or why it pops up, but I was able to salvage my install. My titanium backup from the 29th (before this error message was on my nandroid backups) was able to save all my apps, the layout, etc. I had to sit there for 3 hours manually allowing each and every app to install, but thats much better than trying to piece together which apps I had and what order they were in.
That being said, I'm now in the habit of making almost daily nandroid backups and titanium backups, as well as backing up any/all settings at every opportunity.
In response to the last post, I use CWM and I thought I clarified that in my original post. Not sure how/why the backups got corrupted, but I don't blame the recovery.
i get this fc when i change my sim with any other network sim card, maybe the phone has network lock?

[GT-P5100] - everything crashing and I can't install any custom ROM

Hiya everyone,
Been a long time user without any major problems. Today, my tablet, started to crash, having GAPPS and Play Services keep stopping, and then everything, mail, maps, plus loads of other apps, just stopping, pretty much 'bricking' the device.
I've spent the morning trying to install Lollipop (I've been on KitKat, via a Cyanogenmod ROM), but I cannot seem to install anything. I've got a newer ROM - cm-12.1-20150407-0546-UNOFFICIAL-p5100.zip, but every time I try to install it, I just get a Status 7 error message. If I try to install the original ROM I had, but that won't install either, with the same Status 7 error .
I've done a full wipe of cache, dev (thing), everything, but it's still not working. I've tried this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-2/help/probably-n00b-question-gt-5100-flashing-t3104842
But (the newest) version of Odin, won't let me install the CF-Root Download. I've tried it without the auto-restart, but when I go into Recovery Mode, it's on ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.2.7 and it won't install any of the MODS I have.
Please can someone help...I've been going mental all morning!
Quick a quick update, but I think there's something serisouly wrong.
Basically, everything is stopping, all the time. But I did try to move the ROM to the internal sdcard from the external one...it wouldn't copy. I then found I cannot delete or write anything to the internal memory, like it's write-protected or something.
I can't do anything, since every 30 seconds I get the barrage of '...has stopped. OK or Report...' and then they keep popping up.

Do you have a link? I've searched but can't find anything.
I've just tried to install GT-P5100_CWM_6.0.5.1.tar.md5, via Odin, it says everything was fine and goes to reboot, only to find the ClockWorkMod is still v6.0.2.7. So it's not updating anything.
I'm sure the internal storage isn't letting me write/delete anything.

7 Pro stuck in boot after removing Magisk

I've been having a bunch of problems recently with my rooted 7 Pro including Magisk Manager constantly "keeps stopping", not being able to access Hide to add new applications, banking apps starting to detect that I'm rooted and camera issues: the camera app not starting, the camera not popping up automatically and the image being usually reversed and occasionally upside down as well, depending on the app I'm using.
Given that Magisk appears to be dead/dying, having lost its developer to Google, I thought I'd start by getting rid of that and then performing a firmware upgrade in necessary to see if that fixes the other issues.
I uninstalled the Manager then ran the uninstall zip within TWRP. Rebooting though hangs on the initial "ASUS" screen.
I can get back to TWRP ok so I guess I'm not bricked yet. My next thought was to try a system upgrade but I seem to need to know the exact version I need, which, seemingly, I can only get via a working phone?
From the back, it says only model I002D along with SN and IMEIs.
I've done a TWRP backup to the external uSD card, and I have a syncthing copy of all of the internal memory that I can access without root.
My questions:
1. Is there something there which can help my figure out which firmware I need to download?
2. Is there any way to install this without wiping the phone?
Please see this post.
When I try to burn rom with TWRP, img burns but it doesn't start and zip gives an error and cannot burn.
When I first burned custom ROM (unofficial AEX), it did not start, so when I deleted the data from TWRP, it seems that I deleted things that should not be erased, so even if I burn it from the zip file, with the error message in the image below I...
