so the nexus store is shut down. there doesn't seem to be a way to buy the official desktop dock anymore. is it for sale anywhere else for the same price?
I was wondering the same thing I wanted to get the car dock too.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Call HTC. They may be able to shed some light on the situation.
Glad I got my car dock a couple weeks ago.
A Google employee just recently posted on the official Google Android forums and he had this to say:
"Sorry guys. Now that the web store is closed you can't buy any accessories from Google. Your only option at this time is to buy from third party resellers if you're so inclined. Thanks for supporting the Nexus One!
All the best,
Ry Guy"
Sucks for me, as I was hoping to buy the car dock in the near future.
Was it ever possible to order the docks directly from htc? I'd rather avoid the ebay gouging that's bound to start now.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Darn... So far I haven't been able to find any of the two docks for a normal price (i.e. the price google charged for them).
On ebay I found some US sellers that add 15, 20, 25 USD above the google retail price. Over here in Europe expansys sells, for instance, the desk docks for the (imho) staggering amount of USD 88!!
Any tips would be highly appreciated though!
What are the odds that the following battery is real?
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Original-OEM-Bat...Accessories&hash=item3a5cb74a64#ht_2432wt_912
$5.99 + $3.99 SH for the OEM battery???
Jesus ****ing christ Google, could you **** this up any worse
I am not happy about the way this whole thing has been handled. The car dock took FOREVER to come out, then it was out what 2 months before they shut down the store?
Jesus christ.
i wont lie, this is some bull**** right here... I'm on my original battery and I can tell it doesnt have its good ole charge anymore, was looking to get another one and possibly the desktop dock as well but now we are **** out of luck...
i was going to buy the car dock yesterday, but hesitated. now the store shut today. luckily i found one on ebay for $75. not too bad imo. im willing to spend the few extra bucks. there arent going to be many of these available. i would find one while you still can
I ordered the car dock last night on a whim..... Thank goodness for that. A little bit of a shock to wake up this morning to find the store closed!

HTC Accessory Support
I spoke to an HTC representative this morning to attempt to purchase an original desktop dock for my Nexus One. I called 888-716-3594, a number I read about calling in another XDA Nexus thread.
I was told HTC is gearing up to support Nexus One accessory sales very soon. Calls demand at this number have been many I am told. the representative said to give a few more days, and to monitor the HTC web site "Product Sales".
Waiting to see how true it might be.

Hopefully it happens. If not, Google has royally shafted Nexus One users. I just got my Nexus One right before the store closed down. It sucks that I'm not able to get the desktop dock or a spare battery (should I need one) from them anymore.
I was thinking I would not be able to get my hands on either of these accessories until I read what you posted. Crossing my fingers for HTC supporting Nexus One accessory sales.
i will <3 htc forever if they allow us to buy accessories straight from them. I dont' see why they wouldn't...they still probably have stock of docks and batteries, since they were OEM supply. i imagine they just need to set up the products on their stores.

Really hope this works out!
I just got off the phone with HTC and they said there's no way to buy any of the accessories for the Nexus One, and the rep was unable to give me any information about future availability. She only said the phone was "no longer available in North America."
Sucks.
I found a place to get the desktop dock, but unfortunately the car dock is not available!
Heres the link.
negrielectronics.com/google-nexus-one-desktop-dock.html
THEY HAVE NEXUS ONES T-MOBILE AND AT&T TO BUY TOO!
FFS.. I knew I should have bought a second N1 I really want both the docks now but live in Australia so it's (WAS!) extortion getting them here.. :'(
E-cell was selling the sensation last night for 419 pounds, the purchases rained down on them myself included...
This morning they have revised their price to 449, but still very cheap, its definitely still the cheapest around...
Just check Ebay and search for HTC Sensation, E-cell will be shown usually near the top

Well they are a reputable company with quite a massive feedback, and in the UK we are covered by distance selling regulations which gives us 14 days cooling off period and we can return within that time for a full refund or exchange.
I think 419 is definitely no money at all for the HTC Sensation
Are they an authorized Samsung retailer? If not, be careful with the warranty.

If they are a HTC Partner you will get 2 years...
Do you know when you'll get yours? I really wanna know if it's unbranded XD
they say 7-10 days but the sim-free version isn't supposed to be out till the end of june.

To be honest mate, for that price im not too worried 419 for the sensation is a steal I think
Even 449 is still a great price...
What i have seen of E-Cell is they get their stock the same time as others, so its just a matter of waiting.

As it happens im not a new member, I was under the name of Jupiterdroid but erased my account as i have a massive year at university this year and would not be using my account as much.. You can even confirm that with Mick Channon.. So before you start throwing accusations around find out facts! I had well over 2000 posts with the JD account, i wanted it closed as i knew it would be inactive for long periods of time. So Mod get running to Mick and he will tell you the story..

There isnt anywhere else cheaper thats a fact Even though they have now moved it to 450 its still the cheapest. I think they really undercooked it at 419, they had like 15 sales in 5 hours lol.
I know. I was shocked. Lol. I was actually In two minds about buying it now or a month or two down the line. Glad i got it now.
I got mine around midnight.
419....I paid that much for my dhd over a month after it was released.
I'll let you know how it goes once I get it. Now just hope these bootloaders will be unlocked. Then I can design my own theme and flash away

I would really advise you to be very careful when dealing with ecell.
Just google ecell ebay.
They have a very sketchy record with high value items like phones.
I bought a nexus one over a year ago. Had to file a paypal dispute after I found out that they lied about shipping the phone.

That does sound dodgy, but with over 600,000 phones sold and a good feedback in the high 90's im sure your one was a minor glitch in comparision.
In the UK we have distance selling regulations on our side, so if you dont like it, return it within 14 days and get a refund

Actually it is not 600 000 sold phones. It is 600 000 sold items with a vast majority being low-value items - this is how they boost their feedback.
The research I've done after I ordered my n1 from them indicates that this it was not a minor glitch and their tactics is based on waiting for the 40-day PayPal dispute window to expire. They come up with excuses as to why they haven't shipped yet or outright lie to you (as was in my case) claiming that the phone has been shipped.
Maybe they've changed their ways, I don't know. Just thought a heads up was in order.

your actually right, looking through the negative feedbacks im alarmed at the significant number of feedbacks regarding phones arriving a month late. im not sure now whether im going to go ahead with them. they did seem abit dodgy, only thing that was persuading me to buy was the 60,000 feedback

My 9-year-old daughter really wants a tablet, and I'm considering getting her one of the ultra cheap ones that's floating around, especially in this cyber-sale week. She doesn't have the best history of caring for her things, so I don't want to spend more than $100 on something she'll likely break sooner than I'd like to know. I recognize this means I'll end up with junk, but I'm trying to filter the junk.
My main concerns are having at least Android 2.1, and the ability to hopefully hack the genuine Market onto it, although I'll settle for the Amazon Appstore. Being able to do all the basic things without being horrific at it would also be very nice.
Does anyone have a specific model they could point to? I'm seeing some Velocity Microsos and Pandigitals on sale, along with some cheap no-names from sites like ahappydeal.com, but I'm trying to make an informed decision.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DealExtreme.com have a lot of Android items. Just be sure to read the reviews. They may be extremely cheap but there are limitations. I use the website to buy cheap gadgets as gifts for my friends lol. But yea, if you need a simple Android tablet with a certain spec give them a try.

Yeah, I already buy a lot of things from there, but was hoping I might find someone who has more direct experience with a specific model.
I'd run up to Walmart, Staples, Office Max, or Radio Shack and see what they have in regards to e-readers. Velocity Cruz Micro is one I believe is sub $100 one at my local Radio Shack. Find one that you like for the price and then see if your able to load the market, or better yet a custom rom.
When your looking in the less than $100 catagory, that's probably your best bet. They're at least made with some care for the consumer in mind, where as an elcheepo china model isn't.

I've not seen anything there in a price point below the Nook Color you're writing from. Certainly no sub-$100 Android tablets. Or has their inventory changed recently?
Well Fry's, BestBuy or Office Max will probably be your best bet to get the feel. Read some reviews on NewEgg or something xD
Oh my bad sub $100. No go with retail stores. Definitely Ebay or DealExtreme. Hard to imagine local stores selling anything cheaper than that.

Ah, thanks for the clarification!
Yes, I was looking at the Velocity Cruz units that were on sale on 1SaleADay today, but as I dug into reviews I wasn't liking what I saw. Some really odd limitations and compatibility issues that concerned me. Left me thinking they'd be no less of a frustration than the Chinese ones from the descriptions. Might not be accurate, but that's why I was hoping for people with some real-world experience who did some of the hacking themselves.
Well, I can't help you there, but I can tell you with these cheep units that your experience will almost be gauranteed to be a crapshoot. It might work for me, it might work for you, it might not. I'll dig around the net and see what I can find for you though. I'll report back in the morning, I gotta get some rest for the night.

Really appreciate the assistance. I've done some research of my own, too. I'd love to get her something really good, but I just know for a fact that if I do I'll get a call a week after Christmas that she left it out in the snow, or her dog chewed it up, or something. But I also don't want to get something that will frustrate her enough to CAUSE that.
Wasn't there a £30 7" tablet floating around eBay with a capacitive touch screen running 2.1 Eclair? I'm sure somebody mentioned it on these forums a while back and a few members bought one for family members, might be worth a look there.
Good luck finding one.
Well, most of what I'm finding is Chinese ones that break the hundred dollar mark after shipping and what not. The ones that stay below that either turn to vaporware or are ungodly aweful.

While I agree, which was my concern, if I go above that point it's both prohibitively expensive and a really stupid move on my part. I know her well enough to be shocked if this thing survives more than six months. If it does, then I can consider putting real money toward a good one for her. But this is basically a test run both of her responsibility and of how into it she really is.

looking for a straight swap>?
i live in northwest England.
let me know if you wont more info?
cheers.
Sell it on eBay and buy a Sensation with the money - I did pretty much the exact same thing. I doubt you'll get anyone willing to do a straight swap since the Sensation is a much more powerful phone.
I sold my Play for £155 and got the Sensation for £160. You just need to keep an eye on a few auctions and you'll find one going cheap.
If you really want to swap you should try Gumtree.
i should but eBay is such a hassle and they charge ha ha, ill look in to it thanks mate
Don't think anyone would do it. Sensation is more expensive.
Btw, should be posted in the marketplace

i'm a reasonable person i can negotiate lol
Yea nobody will swap as has been said, gumtree is the best bet for avoiding ebay charges or a marketplace like on here
I paid 599. For my sensation in the US , California. No way would I swap! Sorry friend but ebay is likely the best place to sell. Then you can buy a sensation. Btw. You will LOVE the sensation! Very powerful phone, so many options! Great to customize! Lots of fun! Good choice, but trade, NO WAY!

Hey guys, I'm probably going to sell my Blaze 4G, one of my friends is selling me his HTC One S for a great price so I'm thinking I'll jump on that..
Bought the Blaze shortly after it was released, no scratches on the screen since it has a screen protector. A couple scratches on the phone itself, which forced me to get a case (D3O durable rubbery case). Has all accessories, box, etc.
Would $200 or so be a fair price for my Blaze 4G? I'll probably try selling locally before selling online
Please ask around here for a Developer, I think one was looking to buy one. Should sell to him. I believe Erik knows.
I got $300 first person to call me for it. But I got lucky. I think in good shape 250 isn't unreasonable whether people like it or not it's a fair price for what it is.
