Mostly curious if anyone has already started working on themes for the sense 2.2 leak.
But what i would REALLY like to see in a theme is simply something with a lot of cyan in it. im mostly seeing a lot of deep red/blue themes, which all look great, but i think something with a lighter color would be nice.
on a side note, i just tried to install johnnybueno's red sense theme on the 2.2 leak rom, but did it through rom managers "install rom from sd" option and about pooped myself thinking i had bricked my phone when the screen went black and wasnt responding to the power button or anything. then i pulled battery and booted into recovery.

Yeah that's why I put rom version when I post my themes.
Each time i theme something, I'm basically extracting png files from apks, editing them or replacing them, putting them back into the apks, then re-signing. Because of that, you really don't want to flash the framework-res.apk from another rom... one wrong resource will fubar your framework and you don't want that. Thankfully, because you have a custom recovery you will never brick your phone from a theme I've put together.

Didnt work on skyraider 2. The only thing it did was make launcher pro my default launcher. There was no theme at all
I have a request for anyone that can replace the HTC Launcher bar with the Espresso Bar found on some other threads, it looks so much more sleeker and it matches Sense better than the rounded one
is it possible to put it on my phone without having to flash the ROM and lose everything again? I just finally got everything the way i want it . . .
N/M, I found it here http://androidforums.com/roms-incredible/135541-froyo-tweaked-enhanced.html

This is my ExtremeRoyal theme for CM7 which is updated with each new CM build last updated 08/01/11.
At the moment I've left market 2.2.7 out of the main body of the theme. I've created a separate flashable themed market which can be flashed after the main theme. To apply the theme CM7 and the latest gapps is needed and must be present on the phone before the theme is applied. Download and place the ExtremeRoyal.zip and ExtremeMarket.zip on the root of the sd card then boot into recovery.
Please do a nandroid and flash at your own risk.
Now thats out the way install ExtremeRoyal.zip in recovery once finished reboot the phone. There are many ways to get the new market to work but I find this way is best. A wipe of market data and cache is needed then boot into recovery and install the ExtremeMarket.zip then reboot. I've found the market to force close a few times but it soons clears up.

You have to do a restore through nandroid. It's possible to reflash a rom over the top if the rom is not CM7 a full wipe will be needed before you flash the rom.
I was able to get rid of the red icons by flashing gapps again.

Not working
I tried flashing this theme multiple times on a Nexus One running CM7 build 3, and every time it prevented the phone from booting until I reflashed CM7. I even tried a full wipe and clean install, but I got the same result. It would boot past the Nexus screen to the new CM boot animation, but then the animation would constantly freeze and restart until I pulled the battery. I'm updated to build 5 now, think I'll wait for an update to the theme before trying again, as I'm really eager to get it on there.

I flashed the theme and you are correct boot loops. So I spent a while and found the problem Vending.apk. So I updated the market to market22.10 and themed over it. I've flashed it twice for good measue and no bootloops.
Back to boot loops
Held off as long as I could, but I updated to build 22 last night, and as I feared, the boot loops came back. Same for 23 today. I've been playing around with trying to isolate the problem, and I know that the loop is being caused by the Status Bar crashing at boot, and that the problem is caused by a file in the framework-res.apk. I tried going deeper, and eliminated the drawable folder as the culprit, along with any file in the apk named "status_bar_xxxx.xxx." I'm just learning the guts of Android, so don't know where else to dig, but I figured I'd contribute whatever I could to make it easier to fix. I totally love this theme...
I am a Junior in High School and I made the Tron Theme. I wanted venture away from something so specific to one group so I decided to make a clean, simple theme. It's still green but it's a slate type green and I think a got rid of all the shiny elements of the original sense to make it look more professional in my opinion. Many parts are now based Gingerbread (Check Marks, Status Bar Icons, etc.) but themed in the slate green look.
For the most part I themed everything myself but some status bar icons are from MIUI and the background for the app drawer is from Myn's ROMs.
I would also like to dedicate this theme to those suffering Japan. I have close friends and family over there that are doing fine but there are many that are suffering. I will be posting donate link sometime next week in which all donations will go to organizations helping Japan. If you are planning on buying something from Amazon, please buy through my school club's Amazon link so that we can use the commission to donate to Japan. Please find it in your heart to take one extra step if buying something through Amazon to help those that have lost everything.

So now I present my Slate Matte Green Theme for Redemptive rEVOlution by HeyItsLou.
Before downloading and flashing please BACKUP YOUR ROM. I have tested flashing on my phone and my sister's phone and everything works but things can always go wrong. If you do flash, please do not hold me accountable for anything that may go wrong.
Download Link: (I made this update with the Edify script required for CWM 3 but I'm still skeptical about it working. It will definitely work on CWM 2.5.X.X; under the download link there is a way to flash if you're on CWM 3 without getting rid of CWM 3 or causing issues but again BACK UP)

I'm pretty sure you can revert back but the backups only work with there specific CWM. Like if you backed up using CWM 3 you wouldn't be able to recover using CWM 2; so I've heard but not 100% sure.

Hey guys, I've managed to achieve 1% battery steps on Froyo!
It has been tested in quite some Froyo roms by now, and it seems to work great! No battery drains or anything like that.
In order to obtain one percent battery steps, your rom/theme must give support to it. I've modified EphuNord (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1046027) Gingerbread theme to add support to it.
So, the only thing you need to do is to apply the battery_step.zip attached. It replaces your /system/lib/libandroid_servers.so. This library was extracted from Milestone FroyoMOD rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=815595).
ATTENTION:
I recommend you installing 2nd-init (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.pedronveloso.sndinitdefy) and making a nandroid backup before applying this patch. If anything goes wrong (i.e. the library is not compatible with your rom), you'll be stuck in Motorola logo, so starting custom recovery on 2nd-init and restoring the nandroid backup is the easiest way to get your phone back!
Thanks 89luca89 for the library.
Thanks Ephumuris for the rom and original theme.

Thanks! Working on S.Froyo II with custom BlueGingerbread framework.

You don't need this thing for CM7 ... this one is for Froyo ROMs.
CM7 already has it included.
@slph You must modify framework-res.apk in order to include icons for every battery step. You have also to change the xml that describes battery behavior.

Applying the patch might work, but make a nandroid backup before flashing it in case something goes wrong.
The theme, however, must be made for your ROM. The one in the first post just works with EphuNord and others nordic based ROMs.

Can I just extract this *.so and replace the one in the official (but rooted) froyo?

Awesome thanks!! Didn't mean to sound impatient, I was literally getting ready to flash 6.0 beta when I saw this post
Thanks a lot! Although I can't try this now, I will when I get home. I already know this will have quality, and stability like all your releases. Thanks again
gonna see what its working with lol

I was waiting for a reply with reviews after this but I couldn't wait any longer , flashed, will let everybody know how it goes, looks good so far!
dang i just flashed the regenerated 1.1 now the ef02 rom by midnight this is like christmas morning and you get everything you wish for and more
Bonsai 5 B13 wont go into deep sleep on my phone. That's the only EF02 Rom I have tried. Anyone seeing that with this rom?
Edit: answering my own question here, just tried this and no deep sleep. Even killed every process on the phone and stopped background data.
I guess gingerbread doesn't like my hardware

Well I'd like to try it out but I can't read anything with this default curly font and flashing "Stock Font.zip" (twice) from Midnight Extras didn't fix it. Going back to stock.

Flashing the stock font should work. Have you tried manually dripping them in the font folder and rebooting. I'll look at it in the morning. Maybe I zipped up the wrong fonts.

Nope I hadn't tried that yet, may give it a go over the weekend but for now reverted to stock. Any idea whether Netflix works with this ROM? What about the overscroll / CRT animations? Really miss those from EE03

The zip was messed up. The hierarchy was wrong. I fixed it. Should work now. As far as the CRT and overscroll goes, I haven't seem them for this build and it was't my mod the last time.
I will definately try this out when I get home! Thanks again for all you do for the epic comunity. One question, and I apologize if it is stupid. I know this says rfs only, but is there any way to convert this to ext4? Your roms have always been of highest quality and exactly what I'm looking for, but the EE03 rom feels really slow and I know it has to do with rfs. I tried the only ef02 ext4 rom I could find and it was fast, but I had too many problems with GPS and other things. Thanks again, and I am autisim aware because of you.

The kernel has to be modded to support ext4. I'm not a kernel guy. I could possibly borrow the bonsai kernel but we all know where that would lead. I think this leak is better then EE03 was. At this point, when the OTA hits EXT4 will be available. However, this still feels pretty quick to me. I don't even use an Epic cause I'm using the Nexus S 4G but have this on my wife's phone and I don't notice much of a difference. I tend to ignore the benchmarks and go with how it feels in the real world.
While this build or leak isn't perfect it does seem pretty solid.
