TnT posted new firmware - G Tablet General

Anyone else see this... Brute forced incrementing the number from Roebeet's prior post and found this:
http://tapntap.http.internapcdn.net/tapntap/update-smb_a1002-3338-user.zip
98.4MB
Don't have tablet at work so can't try it...

downloading it now...
will see and let ya know...

some quick observations (from 3316):
tablet now defaults to stock android launcher (Home)
TnT is now the "Dashboard"

They touched some of the apks, and most of the framework FYI.

Pretty cool so far...
After updating to this firmware, it is the first time I have ever got the welcome screen to setup my device.
Anyways a few thoughts:
On the quick launch bar on the right there is now the standard web, mail, apps, settings, but there is also a dashboard button that brings you to the old TNT homescreen (which I actually liked).
my quadrant scores are averaging around 1900.
I tried to figure out how to do screenshots but no luck...

I'm glad to see that Viewsonic/TnT are moving more rapidly now with their support for the device. Their reputation is on the line; Staples really slapped them in the face, and Engadget did their best to really malign them.
Their recent releases along with their acknowledgement of the work done by the XDA devs will really build up their credibility with early adopters. I hope they follow through soon with source and continue to engage us in these forums.
If Viewsonic stays on the ball, I'll definitely consider purchasing their next tablet as long as it comes out with a 10"+ screen (hopefully a bit better quality).

Having messed with all of the available ROMs for the G Tab, I like this and will play with it for a while. It's "official" and it gets the TnT out of the way. Also, same for me, this is the first time any of the official ROMs let me go through the setup for the tab.
I am missing the back and menu buttons on the status bar though. I wonder why they got rid of those. They were VERY helpful when using the machine at night.
Now, time to titanium restore my apps!
Edit: Just discovered it killed Clockwork. A minor annoyance, but annoying none-the-less.

I learned something from Rothnic today that will help... Clockwork will still be there.
Open update.zip
Find updater-script, Open in notepad++
Remove the line that references recovery.img

or you can just reinstall CWM via stock recovery (e.g., from external microsd card)...
then install the Tegra GAPPS via CWM and then do the Market fix and you should be set...

For anyone installing an update like this, it will include their stock recovery. You can easily remove it before flashing, however.
Open the update zip
Open the updater-script a couple levels down in Notepad++ or other linux compatible editer
Remove the line that references the recovery.img
Save
Flash

Yeah, thanks for the info... I jumped the gun! I just reloaded CW from SDCard, Z4'd, Titanium backup'd, all set now! -Oh yeah, I need the tegra googs.
I love Android! The ability to do all this, measured in minutes, not hours or days, is so freaking awesome.

That's correct!

Well I installed this ROM and this is the best I have see from TnT and Viewsonic. So far no problems.

A new problem...
I can't find a tegra gapps package that works without causing Google framework force closes over and over.
Anyone have a link?

I just upadated to TNT Lite 3.0. Is it worth it to go to 3338? Do we have offical Flash? Is G-Sensor fixed (90 issue)?
TNT Lite 3.0 is working so good, I don't want move unless I can play games which had g-sensor issues.

I'm still getting FCs from Gapps and Gframework on that. It may be something with the new software being incompatible with the current gapps?

I'll have a 3.1.0 shortly after they release this final version. I'm not sure what they changed, other than the default launcher going to vanilla.
I already have a prototype, but I haven't fully tested it out, yet.

You have to download maps from the market if you use it...
My Bluetooth Headset works fine so that is in order.
WiFi Works fine also
NOTE : I tried to flash SuperCSDIX10.zip as an update and it did not work. Do a full wipe then flash this new version.
I've installed Haykuro's Danger/Death SPL 1.33.2005 to test it with this Rom and so far everything is working smooth. I think it will work with the Hard SPL Also.
You can get this fast fast fast rom here :
SuperCSDIX10.zip DOWNLOAD
or if you don't like the Xperia theme you can get the older version:
REx3MixCSDI.zip DOWNLOAD
Metamorph Theme for REx3MixCSDI (Note: Don't just flash this on top of REx3Mix you need to use Metamorph -on the market- You will more than likely need Haykuro's SPL or Use Firerat's Custom MTD Partitons)
Download :Green Dev Droid Theme by gEkX
But don't just flash away with this one. Theres a few things you want to do before you get your 3D gaming on.
1. Backup everything on your SD card
2. If you already have swap and a ext partition then you should wipe and repair the ext partition. If not your going to want to partition out your SD card like so:
(remainder) fat32, (512mb-1gb) ext2/3/4, (at least 64mb) linux-swap. REMEMBER When you partition your SD card it will format it. So make sure to backup your SD's contents to your computer.
This is easily done using Amon's RA_recovery-v1.7.0
(If you don't want Apps2SD then you can skip the ext parts)
Now that your ready proceed to the install :
3. Boot into Recovery
4. Place SuperCSDIX10.zip or REx3MixCSDI.zip whichever you downloaded in the root of your SD
5. Wipe/Factory Reset
6. Wipe The Dalvik-cache
7. Wipe the ext partition
8. Repair the ext partition
9. Flash SuperCSDIX10.zip or REx3MixCSDI.zip (Whichever you prefer) then Reboot. Go though the Setup.
10. Get the new version of SupSetup on the Market
11. Setup Apps2SD with SupSetup then Reboot
12. Setup Linux-Swap with SupSetup the Reboot
(11 and 12 are both under Options in SupSetup 4. Also make sure you reboot in-between steps 11 and 12 this is IMPORTANT!)
13. If you get FC's when restoring backed up apps try running Fix permissions. In recovery go to console... then type utility... go to fix permissions and run it... then reboot.
14. Last but not least; One of the bigger issues with this ROM is the battery drain. With "Normal" usage I would have to charge my phone before half the day was over. This is what I did to fix this issue:
- Go into SupSetup
- Under CPU Options turn off "TurboMode" and "Modder CPU"
- Optional* Under Special Options I turned on Aceleración 3d. This, I believe, helps frame rate smoothness in 3D games and helps overall rendering.
- Download either "SetCPU for Root Users" or "OverclockWidget (Need Root)" ). Personally I got OverclockWidget because it was free but SetCPU may give you more options and whatnot.
- Set your Max: 528mhz and set your min: 128mhz
After about 24hrs of Normal usage (Surf the net a couple hours. Check Twidroid, Email, and XDA Mobile...constantly . a little gaming. plus phone calls and text. The rest on standby) I have only used 3/4 of my battery.
If your having troubles with backups not showing the the market you could try this:

For the ppl with backup issues, try downloading "MyBackup Pro" or "Titainium Backup" Mind you these are paid apps but the features on here will save your lives. Both apps backup your apk files WITH the current data/market links on them and has the ability to use a 1-click restore so it wont take you 5 hours to restore ya apps.
I used it on this rom and have had no FC's at all

I tried it and, to be honest, I prefer Httclay's Superfast to CSDI. Faster and more responsive, IMO

Appreciate the info, Stupid/SuperFast is quite speedy right now, most likely due to the JIT....have to see on the long term performance over a few days. Prob will skip this build
For me, this CSDI is faster than any of the other CSDI's and definitely the fastest HTCClay ROM I've used.
Scrolling, opening apps, opening the app list, going from screen to screen, all super fast and smooth. Not a single issue so far after a couple nights of use.

You are right my friend the sound dosen't work on the alarm clock! I found a fix though. Download the old AlarmClock.apk here : DOWNLOAD
Then place that in the root of your SDcard. Next use better terminal and enter in this code:
Code:
$su
#mount /system -o remount,rw
#rm /system/app/DeskClock.apk
#cp /sdcard/AlarmClock.apk /system/app/AlarmClock.apk
Then reboot and everything should work fine.
on screen keyboard doesn't fix incorrect spelling. please fix
market
Also market is broken. It does show paid apps, but not all apps show up in market. I somehow corrupted my apk backup and now I can't find musicjunk or pandora in the market. If anyone knows how to fix it let me know and I'll come back to this rom asap. Hope this helps others also. Have a good night.
dude you gotta fix that POST and make the Download links CLEAR and not hidden in the "here" use DOWNLOAD or 4share
anyways there are all these "remix" ROMs floating around, its best to stick a straight up ROM, not one of themed mix and matches, either Clay's or CSDI, Clay is a SOLID DEV, with many versions of his FastTest series so he gets my vote, he keeps up his solid work with a a few ROMs a week
market
@ sianaka
market enabler did the trick for me
so cool====== everythings was change shooooooooooooooooooooooooock

What's the spl requirement and card layout for this rom.? A friend was trying to flash earlier but said no go for him. TIA.

[ROM/MOD/AWESOME]MeatRom v106 Updated 2-14-11

This is just a simple, basic rom, I've been using it a few days and a couple people have tried it. It uses a stock deodexed system with some of the sprint and samsung bloatware removed. I've added a few apps that I often use, and a couple I don't. This should work with both rfs and ext4 file systems, and uses the edify script so its flashable via cwm3.
I wont be adding any themes or anything fancy to this, its just a slightly modified stock system, but it runs pretty strong. So, don't expect super beautiful. The boot animation is just a basic flashing android logo, however you should be able to insert your own if you would like.
I personally don't use the ATK as the phone manages memory fine on its own, but for those who need it, or if you have pesky apps that need killed its there. Linpack is there if thats your thing.
As with anything regarding flashing custom anything, you assume the risk. Always keep a recent backup, and know that your warranty is void (If you didn't already know this, you should now)
I'll be adding and removing stuff as I see fit, and I work at my pace.
Things I've added
The recompiled libdvm, seems people are seeing benefit from it so I added it here.
Dameon's ext4/rfs kernel
The stock deodexed and zipaligned /system from ACS
Spare parts
Zeam Launcher
Gingerbread Keyboard (multi touch support)
Things I've removed
Most of the samsung/sprint bloatware
Touchwiz launcer. (Zeam and the Froyo launcher are both on the phone, if you don't like zeam its in /system/apps, remove it)
Stock Email.apk - Will be added in 106
Memo.apk
ThinkFree Office
Samsung's Keyboard
Swype
Boot animations
Boot animation sound
Change Log 106
added the stock email.apk back
changed my edify script to fix issues with cwm3
added the tutorial on first startup so google backup works if you use it - I know its a pain in the butt the first time around, but worth it.
I would like to personally thank Ften for letting me borrow some space on his website, there are space constraints, so I will only have the latest there, if you need a previous version pm me here, or at www.sdx-developers.com my screen name there is MeatCurtains.
Change Log 107
Minor changes
Removed some of the "useful" apps I added
Removed Facebook, Memo, and ThinkFree Office
Removed Swype and Samsung's keyboard
Added the Gingerbread keyboard
Boot animation sounds should also be removed
I was going to remove Launcher2 (Stock Froyo launcher)but left it just in case someone needs a backup launcher. Will be removed for sure on my next release for sure
Again, I didn't make any crazy changes, system is still fairly stock save for the DVM.
107 on will be available at the sdx-downloads link provided.

As you know, but for records, installed from 2.5.1.2 on Bonsai4all with ext4 without without wiping anything and got Gmail force closes. Wiped data/cache/dalvik and reflashed, no change. Finally, odined to stock dk28 and reflashed as rfs (too lazy to do ext4 conversion) and reflashed and no issues whatsoever. Great rom man!
This is JesterCorp... talked earlier on freenode, just an update.
flashed to dk28 with odin then updated to the latest cwm that isnt 3.0 and installed meatrom, seems to be working great. Not sure why things were weird the other route. Thanks for all the help

That's odd, I flashed over bonsai and had no issues at all (save for the gmail one which I believe was due to me forgetting to wipe data/cache/dalvik and thus no fault of yours). To add to my parenthetical statement, the fact that I had ONE force close after doing that is just a confirmation of how well built your rom is man. Great job, I love it. If I wasn't getting an Evo tomorrow I'd be running it and I'll be suggesting it to the guy I'm trading with lol
Anymore feedback? I need to know what is broken before I can fix it for the next release.
Also, I will probably be adding rom manager support for updating through clockworkmod
thanks for going out of your way to create this rom
The only real complaint i have is that for whatever reason i cant seem to get the call log to view by "all calls" instead i have to do all logs... which shows text messages in the call log. Maybe im just doing it wrong, but ive never had any other rom get stuck on all logs before.?? I really like it so far otherwise tho.
thanks!
Dave
Glad to see you over here Meat (followed your moment stuff when I was setting up my gf's moment)
and slight tangent from the OP, but everytime I see the rom version 105.1, I can't help but hear the station jingle from a local station in RDU. "105.1... G105" except "105.1 Meat 105" keeps creeping into my head.
Anyways... as you were, folks.
This rom does not flash thru cwm 3.0.5 I wiped data cach and dalvik 2 x and still end up on,the same rom previously installed quantum2.7 or bonsai 1.1.4 same result any suggestions

So I have been on DI18 for a week but now need flash again for a poker app I want to try so I am downing this now. I am interested in trying the dvm also. One question, you think about turning on the auto market update thing like when the phone is new? It makes it easier when it downloads all my paid apps for me, or maybe you know how I can turn that on myself? Is it in build.prop?
Glad to see some Meatware on the epic front

Big G-Tab changes/updates!

One of my buddies came down today with his new G Tablet for me to load TNT Lite, ADW Launcher, the Market, etc. after hearing me rave about mine.
I turned on his tablet and Shazam! his already had most of the goodies I have on TNT Lite 4.20! Where mine had (for instance) a launcher bar on the right with internet, apps and phone icons, his had 5 icons - internet, apps, settings, and two more I can't recall right now. Where mine allowed only 4 columns of icons on the desktop, his had six. i had to load ADW Launcher EX to get this stuff!
Obviously, in the latest updates, VS has changed a lot, and enabled a lot of things they didn't have when I got mine less than a month ago.
The troubling thing, though, is that I couldn't install Clockworkmod ... when I tried to start the tablet in recovery mode it just hung there and I had to manually turn it off to get off the screen. So CWM didn't install.
And the real biggie is that the Market isn't accessible. No icon and I couldn't find a way to load one. (Separate thread on this one.)
I'll bet a lot of people who returned theirs would be sad to know that VS has fixed so much and they acted too soon.

Which version of firmware did your friend have? (Settings->About Tablet)
There are 2 versions of Clockworkmod, one for the internal memory (/sdcard) and one for the microsd (/sdcard2). Make sure you pick the correct one depending on where you want to put it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245
I have TNT Lite 4.4 and if I remember right, Market came with it.
You do have to do a Market fix, (and a build.prop change to olympus) to get to most of the apps.
Check out

to see what all you can do to your home screen.
I doubt if people many people these days rely on getting any software from Viewsonic for the tablet anymore.

I wouldn't go that far, but it's not the horrible lagging POS people make it out to be. It IS slower than custom ROMs, and honestly if I was stuck on TnT and (for example) it took me a full 20 seconds to switch from classic mode to TnT and then into settings just to remove an App I'd pull my friggin hair out.
And I'm bald, pulling my hair out hurts me more than it hurts most people.
The friend was probably running the 4349 firmware that Viewsonic pushed out a while back. It uses a 1.2 kernel that's incompatible with most versions of clockworkmod. There is a version of cwm that will work on this kernel branch, but will not work on 1.1 kernels. You can tell easily if it's the 4349 or 3588 stock firmware because the former has a lockscreen and the latter does not. If the friend has 3588 then the cwm problem was most likely an inept installation attempt rather than the version of the recovery.
You install market on this stock firmware the same way you install it on other stock firmware versions.

[MOD]V6 SuperCharger for Beta 2(Works on EVERY other ROM) - Update 4/10/12

Smooth Scrolling Mod & V6 SuperCharger for CM9
Disclaimer
By downloading and installing any of these mods, you have accepted my terms of agreement. I.E Your phone gets messed up? Not my fault. Countries WAGE WAR over your phone fearing its doomsday capabilities....Guess what? NOT. MY. FAULT. *sigh* I could sit here all day and think of more cliche and childish things for a disclaimer. But I'm going to take a nap instead. Enjoy! Also, I don't claim to any of these. I am merely correcting them for our phones and releasing them to the public. I guess then it doesn't reallllly belong in development. But no one has yelled at me so let's go with it![/CENTER]
Smooth Scrolling Mod:
This mod has been deprecated. Decad3nce has informed me that it is unneeded as ICS' scroll cache kicks ass.
This mod was designed to improve scrolling performance in everything. What it did was disable the scrolling cache. The scrolling cache used by older builds of Android didn't seem to work right and seemed only store cache for apps that are used often, and also didn't make sense for applications where the window content is constantly changes(Browser, XDA, Market, etc). Wiping the cache partition also wiped it out and constant flashers such as myself are always trying something different. So all in all it was kind of useless and scroll performance was a tad better without it contantly trying to build itself. SO with the help of AndroidON's thread, I killed it!
If you want to try and apply the mod yourself, go to the thread and follow the instructions. All you really do is use smali/baksmali to decompile the framework.jar and edit /android/widget/AbsListView.smali. Specifics in the thread. Real easy to do and a good learning experience for some. Try it out!

V6 SuperCharger Script:
Sir!
These are extremely outdated.
Go here and scroll down down down to the bottom of the page, when zeppelinrox has placed the updated files.
I recommend flashing the Starter Kit. *And if you need to adjust your services.jar go use the web app.
HUGE UPDATE! - Mod your services.jar instantly with the ICS OOM Priority Charger WebApp!
If you weren't aware V6 SuperCharger Script is not really compatible with ICS. It just doesn't seem to do anything. That's why zeppelinrox took to finding out why and how to fix it. The result is a completely different script. Entirely designed for ICS. That seems fine a well right? Just download the new script and use it like normal...right? NO! You have to crack open services.jar in order to allow for the script to have any effect! Here is the link to the how to. It was just as easy and straightforward as the scroll mod, and I recommend giving it a look see. So what I did was rip the services.jar out of Alpha 3 and apply the mod! COOL!

I have been trying to use V6 Supercharge on CM9 and didn't seem to be getting much benefit - I honestly would not have been able to do the steps necessary to make it work - it is just over my head - so your flash file has helped me incredibly - I also never did try The other two 'tweaks' before until tonight and - the difference is amazing and immediately noticeable - extremely quick - and smooth - can't wait to see if they help save a little extra battery too - thank you very much!

All of the downloads posted here are posted in the threads above. I ask you to go to the threads and give zeppelinrox a thanks. He/she beyond deserves it.
I am also adding the links to the KickAss Kernelizer and 3G SuperCharger as well. I am using them both and it's pretty amazing. That said, the V6 SuperCharger, KickAss Kernelizer, and 3G SuperChargers will be the biggest boost you could ask for. I am underclocked AND undervolted and my phone has never been faster. YMMV but I'm still way sure.
Downloads:
Services.jar - Beta 2: Die-Hard-Latest. Required to use the mods in ICS. This is a flashable zip. Just drag it to your SD card and flash in ClockworkMod. I ripped the updater script from EB! :tyrannosaurus: NOTE: After an Alpha update you will have to reapply this mod. THIS IS ONLY NECESSARY FOR CM9! MIUI has it built in, and V6 supports all versions of the operating system prior to ICS.

V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-Update9_RC8.2.sh.pdf
-Yes it says .pdf. That's the way zeppelinrox had to do it because the scripts got huge and the limit on .txt forced them to change. If you have a problem downloading it, right-click and select "Save Link as". You can remove the .pdf after the fact, but it doesn't really matter. Drag this to your SD card and then open it with root permissions with Script Manager. Note: When asked which speed you want to scroll at it gives for options 1-3. You can STILL choose 0. Choosing 0 will make the script run at top speed. This is useful for people who open it often. After initial setup scroll down and you should see 30 options. There are three pertaining to "512 HP". Choose one of those options. I chose option seven for example. I also turned on the "Nitro Lag Nullifier" experimental option. I have seen no ill effects. Only good happy rainbow effects. There is also SuperClean! Which just wipes your dalvik-cache and reboots. It's prompted, but you can say no. Which is probably for the best considering there is no shutdown. Instant reboot. Which can kill data. So yeah YMMV. Be careful. Make a nandroid! NOTE: After an Alpha update you will have to reapply this mod.
KickAssKernelizer_Tweaks_Installer_Update_3_RC8.sh.pdf
-Again .pdf. You can remove the .pdf after the fact, but it doesn't really matter. Drag this to your SD card and then open it with root permissions with Script Manager. Run this AFTER V6. Let it does it's deal. Follow the script and click type I to install when prompted. I said yes to the I/O tweaks with no issues. It says that it may cause boot loops AND it may bork bluetooth...so keep that in mind Fixed! Go ahead and check out the I/O tweaks. But still make a nandroid! NOTE: After an Alpha update you will have to reapply this mod.
3GTurboCharger_Installer_Update_3_RC8.sh.pdf
-Also .pdf. You can remove the .pdf after the fact, but it doesn't really matter. Drag this to your SD card and then open it with root permissions with Script Manager. Run this AFTER V6. Let it do it's initial intro and then you will see eleven options. I chose experimental 1. But you can choose whichever option you think sounds best. The lower the number the better battery savings(1 being the best, 5 & 6 being the worst). Make a nandroid! NOTE: After an Alpha update you will have to reapply this mod.
I recommend upon installing Script Manager to immediately activate root permissions by going into Menu->Advanced->Config->Browse As Root.
Failsafe: Flash this if using the I/O tweaks caused you to boot loop. It shouldn't happen as it has been updated. But this should fix it without you having to use nandroid if anything does go wrong.
All in One Package: Die-Hard-All three tweaks, the services.jar, AND the failsafe all in one neat package. tweaks and failsafe will be placed on the SD card under folder name "ACS_V6SC". Follow the individual instructions above for the V6 SuperCharger, KickAss Kernelizer, 3G SuperCharger, and KAK failsafe.
The All-In-One DOES NOT WORK WITH AOK-FREAKING-P!!!
Having any issues? While I urge you to search through the thread for your answer if you need help with something post with the kernel, Alpha version, theme(if any), and the steps you took to install and try it. If the mod does not work the first time it could have been a bad download.
Do YOU have a speed mod you would like to contribute? Contact me! Leave a comment! Whatevs.
What exactly is the change you made in this?
Doesn't really help but do notice a small amount of difference. There's still that odd snap scrolling in scrolling through xda

I got the same result when I first installed the zip, but then I let my phone sit for a while as I watched some YouTube videos on my computer and when I began using my Epic, I noticed major improvements. No lag at all now. I've tested the scrolling in the xda app, Twitter feed, Facebook feed, browser, and through all my songs in the music app. Everything is smooth. I'm not sure if this is the mod working or not.

I actually did not create this mod. I'm just sharing it. In fact, I'm not really sure who made it. I saw it in this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342047&page=402 post #4014
Huh. I guess I never figured to make a thread for this!
I will make a github page with the changes tonight.
EDIT: Github is acting up like you wouldn't believe. I found the original thread that EB then I pulled this from. So all credit goes to AndroidON. It's incredibly easy to do.
Has anyone tried running the SuperCharger script instead to try and fix the lag? Personally I haven't but I'm curious to know if that may help.
Sent from my Samsung Epic using CM7!
I kinda like the snap scroll tbh. Haven't really seen "lag" in my scrolling yet though, so maybe it's more annoying for those experiencing it.

I'm running it now.
But to be honest I wasn't experiencing any major lag in the first place. Even with 10 apps open. The scroll mod is for annoying stutters while scrolling.

Alright but I'm just curious to know if it feels faster. I'm on cm7 now, not switching to cm9 unil I figure out how to get rid of the phantom voicemail notification (I'm not activating another device and all that stuff)

I already tried to contact sprint about this to clear my voicemail inbox, but instead they got rid of my 3G, so I had to go back to a ei22 rom to reactivate my phone, only to learn that the voicemail never even disappeared even when I asked them to. So how would I go by blocking this stupid voicemail? Ik its small, but it is persistently annoying. I'd rather have it just not show then to actually be fixed at the moment, similar to just turning off voicemail notifications in CM7.
Updated for Alpha 1.
Check the OP you all plural!

Same here. Agent insisted the android visual VM was the same box as those on other phones but cleared it for me anyway. It didn't work.

I used super charger with the mod on cm7 with great results, about to try it on cm9. I'll do supercharge first, then add smooth scrolling mod n tell you what Ithink. First let me play with cm9 for a bit to get a feel for it.
Updated for Alpha 2.
qbking77 also looks good naked.

[GT-P6200][GT-P6210][True Tablet UI][4 Way Reboot][Deodexed ONLY!]

This is for DeOdexed XXMC3 GT-P6200 AND DeOdexed GT-P6210 XXMD3 Only!!
For this Mod to work, you will need:
1.) Use a 3rd Party Launcher, (Nova,Apex,Trebuchet,etc.)
2.) You will need to make this your default launcher.
3.) Go to Settings and Force Stop TouchWiz Home Launcher I also cleared data/cache)
After this you can reboot and install this mod.
From my own experience and research on the Tab 2 forums, this may be the only way this works.

Warning: Unconfirmed with stock Touchwiz Launcher, Please download both .zips as a precaution.
Nao with 4 Way Reboot! Sure Scripts and Quick Boot maybe be easier/faster but it feels so much better integrated. Also Quick Boot doesn't go to download mode I dont think.
For Hot Boot to work you need to symlink PKILL with BusyBox Installer (recommend: JRummy) as mentioned : here
Known issues:
Alarm clock is distorted pretty bad when alarm goes off, but you can still easily slide to disable it..
To Fix: Install Xposed Installer with PerAppSettings .apk , set alarm clock DPI to 160 and Screen(dpi) to 600x1024.
Lockscreen missed call/unread text slider is distorted in portrait only.
Fix: Using Xposed per app settings, set Android OS DPI to 160 and Screen(dpi) to 600x1024.
Flash .zip in CWM or TWRP recovery. This will wipe davik-cache.
may 16 fixed scipt umount should have been umount. oops..
Enjoy guys.
reserved for future. thanks.

source/credit for 4 way reboot: here
I don't see any good reason for Samsung not shipping JB with Tab UI.
edit: may 16, fixed TABUI.zip umount should have been unmount, thanks guys.
wow, so swiping over nav button shows a google now pie shortcut.. did this do this in phablet ui?

Yes, it did.
Well after factory reset, these .zips seem to do nothing.. even with nova launcher. Strange indeed.
will do some more testing..
so far.. I think I'm going to have to rule this out , not working with touchwiz launcher.
as added to original post, this mod seems to only work on custom launchers which are set as default.
Also got some new wallpaper with this mod, see below.
Thank you for your work! It work great, just wondering is your mod adjust any dpi?
No dpi changes, use xposed if you are interested.
Is it working great with custom launcher?, if so can we get the name of the one you are using, also have you attempted to use touchwiz launcher?
Iwouldnt even recommend trying to go back, you may get stuck..
will add this and recommend force stopping twhome launcher to OP later, busy now.
thanks guys.

Currently I am using Nova launcher
Think i found another bug, when you have an uread text on lockscreen, the slider is distorted, will find fix/workaround hopefully..
I will gladly trade combined status/nav bar for these little imperfections..
BUMP!
4 way reboot added!
Multiwindow Mod
attn: chrisrotolo
Although I'm sure this is not the proper place to ask (and apologize if it annoys the op) but since you seem to be the only active developer for our device who is still attempting to modify stock i just wanted to know if u have spent any amount of time looking into porting the multiwindow mod to the P6200? Im not sure how familiar u are with the two distinct versions so far which can best be described as the 4.11 or phone/flashbar version and the 4.1.2 or tablet/floating windows version. At this point to get either working would be wonderful & a goal i'd be willing to brick my tab about(well maybe not literally but sum sacrifices must be made in the name of science...lol). Of course i've attempted the simpler solutions such as adding the permissions file & multiwindows jar which is enough to get the checkbox to appear in settings as well as the view selector controls to show up where the miniapps bar is located but obviously none of my attempts have been 100% successful. So far i have baksmali'd the various jars and have found almost all of the functionality to be intact when compared to the NOTE 10.1 which has the newest /preferred version of the multiwindow option but I must admit that i'm a complete newb when it comes to code so i thought i would seek sum assistance...that's if u even have the desire to dedicate sum time to tackle the task. If not, I only ask that u point me in the direction of someone with the time/knowledge/willingness to get it done because at this point i have become determined to do so. I have however done the least i can do which is read essentially EVERY post of EVERY thread on EVERY variation of the mod in an attempt to get an understanding of what i may be missing so below i will link to a couple of those of particular interests where they've had both success & failure.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2056515
^this is for the original note & although it includes uneccessary(but cool) extras this mod has not only been a success but would be the ideal version to get working imho
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024227
^this a how to of of the older version of the mod for the galaxy s2(which as u know is the closest phone to our own device). Most of it applies to the newer version as well except the flashbar.apk itself which is not used anymore(i think...lol)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1988329
^this is the best breakdown i've found of the 2 different implementations & is actually written by the same guy that started the first thread i posted although again this is for the note/note 2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2049516
^ even though after almost 100 pages of posts this one is still a failed attempt i felt it was important to note because these guys have dug through the code EXTENSIVELY so if it is in fact a deeper issue i'm sure they would be more familiar with what WONT work and plus the fact that it's a sgs2 variant i fear we may be in a similar situation.
p.s. i aplogogize about the huge post ahead of time & thx in advance for any insight u may offer
Thanks.
I breifly glanced at the idea before.
I'm not real interested in the use/function actually.
I am interested in learning the prot/development part however. I also do not have much free time because of my job and married life.
When I do get a chunk of time, I will look into this for you and whoever may be interested.
I did see the SungSonic ROM at Tab 2 has an 'alfa5' version of multiwindow mod.
In the meantime, I encourage you to continue trying and feel free to email me if you need any assistance.
Thanks, Cheers.
Error Status 6
Every time I attempt flashing the zip I get an error status 6 and aborts the install. I did set Apex launcher as my default launcher and cleared data for touchwiz. I also tried flashing the stock phablet zip and that worked then I cleared data factory reset and flashed the zip with the same status 6 error and went into a boot loop, any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
try download again, maybe old file update script was missing a " or ) or blank line at end.
thanks.
also see if you can check log in recovery let me know if it says anything.
Please for p6210 official jb http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2278740
Edit:
Done , wow that was fast.
Anyways, please read instructions, also download StockPhablet.zip as a precaution.
Let me know how it's working and Enjoy your tab the way it was meant to be..
Chris,
I installed it on my 6210. It works fairly nicely.
However, there is a problem with the updater-script.
Line 6:
umount("/data");
Needs to be
unmount("/data");
Thanks for mods. This and the ripple lock screen are really nice upgrades.

Thanks, both 6200 & 6210 script were misspelled, both fixed now. Sorry about that. Stock Phablet .zips look OK.
On my P6210, I noticed one bug in this mod: The notification panel grows over the top edge of the display in landscape mode when I have multiple notifications. I had the same problem using the Xposed TabletUI Trigger (which I tried before) mentioned in the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 forums.
Yes noticed that as well, im on PA ROM now so I cant try anything.
i would setting touchwiz home launcher and systemui to 160dpi and 600x1024.
The only thing i noticed going off screen is mostly the clock which isnt a huge deal.
