How to save apps?? - Droid X Themes and Apps

How do i save my apps when changing from one ROM to another? I like checking out all the new ROMS out there, but i hate that i lose my apps...

Titanium Backup.

Mybackup pro is a good one too. You could always partition your sd card within rom manager or bootstrap to write the apps to your sd card. From there you can simply do an advanced restore of just the sd.ext.

Also Titanium Backup will give you that choice, as well as a ton of other options, like to make a backup copy of apps and their data to the sd card. Flashed my phone and restored all my programs with saved passwords data and everything using this program. The ROM I have now automatically installs all apps to the sd card unless they are required to be on the internal mem. :)

Rom manager backup question

For some reason rom manager will only back up if I unmount my ext sd card. Otherwise it just boots into recovery. I can't seem to find any settings to change it.

Please excuse me. But do you mean nandroid backup? If so backup from within clockworkmod.

I used to just tap backup current rom in rom manager, make a name for it and it did its thing. Now I have to unmount the sd card first, then do the backup.

Need clarification bout Tibu

So, I have a couple of questions about titanium backup. 1. Does your backup data store to the cloud? If not, where? 2. Let's say I make a backup of app data, then I change to a new ROM. If I try and restore my phone with the backup I made on the old ROM, will that brick my dad device? 3. Does Tibu backup more than app data? If so, can it cross over ROMS? sorry if these are noobish questions.

Forget I said dad. Not sure where that came from.

1. By default it saves to the SD card. If you buy the paid version you can have it additionally sync to the cloud (Dropbox, Box, or Drive).
2. If you restore only user apps (apps you downloaded from the market) and not system apps (ROM specific apps) you shouldn't have any problems across ROMs.
3. It CAN backup system apps if you wish, but restoring them on a different ROM is not recommended.

Titanium backups

Does tibu overwrite backups When you make a new one? Just wondering if I can delete older ones from my SD card.

You have as many as set in Preferences > max backup history.
You can trim the backups to whatever number in batch actions > trim backups

Titanium backup question and help

Hello everyone, I restored the first backup of my LG-P999 through cwm to stock. I had already installed titanium backup after rooting my phone and before flashing roms. And now that I am back on this stock rom none of the apps i used to have running cm7 will show up in titanium backup. Is there a folder I could extract from my cm7 backup to get them all back? Also just curious because I will be getting a new phone soon and how I am going to get all my apps back.
Thanks in advance

In titanium under preferences go to backup folder location it has an option to automatically locate a backup folder or if you know where it is you can find it. Cm7 uses sdcard as primary storage, stock uses internal so it confuses titanium.
