NOT able to unlock Droid 2 Global - using non-US SIM - Droid 2 Global General

Original problem was post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=867912
Luckily he was able to unlock it by calling Verizon.
For those unable to do that from overseas, any suggestions/workaround? I don't believe I am the only one having this issue. This has been reported overseas a LOT. Also with the latest Droid Pro.
Appreciate any feedback.

Well no solution so far. Some Droid Pro has the same problem.
I guess Verizon/Moto just don't want these two phones become truly global LOL. Sucks.

How to EASILY get your MSL Code on Motorola Triumph

I spent hours trying to get my MSL code. None of the methods I found really worked on the Motorola Triumph.
Eventually, I found my own method and it's way easier than any other method I've seen. You don't need to mod your phone in any way to get this working.
Download and install aLogcat (free) from the Android Market.
Run aLogcat and set it to filter for "sec_code"
Go to your Phone apk and dial ##33284#
When prompted for the MSL, type 000000.
Now, go to aLogcat. It should have found a "sec_code:" line with your MSL code at the end of it. It's 6 digits.
Hope that helps.
works beautifully
Much easier indeed!
Ahhh! I waited 2 Weeks of constant clicking on the snoop page link to get mine.. where were you then . Just kidding. works good, nice job!

Woo Hoo!!! that was awesome how quick and easy it was.
Forgive my ignorance, but what is the MSL good for?

its good for swapping the PRL out for roaming on Verizon, and potentially better service within Sprint's coverage area. Only thing is, you have to pay extra for roaming but i am not really sure...

Cannot roam on Verizon
Virgin Mobile cannot roam on Verizon Network, only use Sprint towers
this method worked great!
Thanks!!

Once you have your MSL. Then search here for replacing PRL.
So I tried the method mentioned by the OP but no luck. It doesn't seem to work when I dial ##332284# in my phone...it just says invalid number.
I also tried visiting the Virgin Mobile website to look up the MSL there, but it doesn't seem to work anymore.
My phone is rooted and I have CyanogenMod on my phone...perhaps that is the issue? Is there another way to get my MSL?

Thanks, I figured this out. For the benefit of anyone stumbling upon this thread, if you're using a custom ROM like CyanogenMod, you can only use this method in a stock ROM (AFAIK). So if you made a stock backup, back up your current ROM, flash back to the stock, follow these instructions and write down your MSL, and then flash back to your current ROM backup.
If you don't have a stock ROM backup, you can search on Google for one.

Best pay method to unlock xt1080 (ULTRA)

I just wanted to know if anybody knew exactly where I can pay to get an unlock code for my Motorola Droid Ultra (XT1080). I already read the methods, but that taobao thing or whatever, I tried searching all over the internet and I just can't seem to find anything. Could someone please help because I have the money to do it and i would like to do it now.

Go to Motorola's site and order a Developer Edition phone (Maxx or X).
Right now that is the only way to get an unlock, in any form.
Sorry, I know that is not the answer you were looking for...

Okay. Well, someone (I forget who), told me that jcase would have a new exploit released in the summer... I mean... SOMEONE out there has to figure it out sooner or later.
Don't get too excited. Jcase method is not persistent and doesn't set WP off. Simply a temp root, not an unlock.

There is no need for an unlock code... All of Vzw's newer 4G LTE phones are factory unlocked, due to a requirement by the FCC

What do you mean the code spl? The codes seemed to just stop being shipped out and lots of people ended up not getting them in time, but there was never really a clear story of what happened to the guy who had been selling them that explained why he stopped. If you know any more about it, please share!

jcase himself has come out saying that the exploit his method used would be pretty inaccessible for the layman anyhow--like there's no way to automate it and make it more dummy-proof, so I doubt we'll ever even get root at all, WP or no. Seeing how many people manage to screw up even the simpler root methods already... yeah, I don't see it happening.
The phone can STILL be unlocked by the Chinese Moto guy for $45 but it has to have been built in 2014. He no longer has the 2013 build codes.

On another thread, there was some discussion about the dates for which the unlock codes are available. Turns out 1/10/2014 is also not good enough.
So, all phones assembled in 2014 do not qualify then, it seems.

The way the sentence above is constructed, it project that ALL phones built in 2014 do not qualify for an unlock code. That's not correct.
The proper way to state that not all 2014 phones have codes would be: most, but not all, phones assembled in 2014 might be unlocked by purchasing the unlock code.

If I buy a used Galaxy S III i535....

Will I be able to root it and maybe put a rom on it?
If not, what similar phone is a better solution?
(i will be using the verizon network, so only verizon options will work.)
Thanks!

It truly depends on more than one factor. I would look for one that is already rooted. Swappa.com is a great option. Also if at all possible look for one that's also bootloader unlocked

With it being a T-Mobile OP7, getting the sim unlock is through TMobile. Unless it's already been done, check with the person that you got it from.

So You think that after converting into International version, my Oneplus 7 pro will be automatically sim unlocked?
No. Sim unlock is completely different than bootloader unlock. you will have to contact t-mo for sim unlock.

t-mobile's 8T+, root, and (future) roms

I see there are already rooting/unlocking bootloader instructions for the regular 8T. is there any reason I should hesitate before buying the 8T+?
my main concern is (future) 8T roms may not work on 8T+. but in general, seems like most OnePlus phones eventually get official LineageOS. so should I not worry about it?
obviously it'll be some time before roms are available regardless - that's fine. I'm more thinking about 2 years down the road.

Thats for sim unlock. There's no time requirement listed for the bootloader. Only need the sim unlocked prior. So if tforce is willing to whitelist the imei (which it sounds like they usually do if your nice about it) then it should be possible. It can take 2 days to get the unlock file but thats better than 2 years to pay off the device.
