@JBookieBop: isn't it easier for the users to just do the nandroid backup and post only system.img & boot.img (but not data.img of course!)? (at least it was good for the Cliq/CliqXT phones).

Hey there M3 mate yes it would but the recovery we have available Currently only allows us to back up everything. But we can restore just the system or data.
Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk

I seem to remember that most recovery versions create a checksum file that includes everything you originally backed up. So if you create a nandroid backup with every partition, but you post it without data.img, then it may fail the checksum on restore. Unless there is a way around this.

I'l have a look this evening if I can get a clean Nandroid.

I've made one for the TELSTRA AUSTRALIA Version. Its 120mb, where is the best place to upload it to?
System version : Blur_Version.2.26.0.MB525.Telstra.en.AU
Model number: MB525
Firmware version: 2.1-update1
Baseband version: EPU93ST2_U_03.03.00
Kernel version: 2.6.29 [email protected] #1
BPflex version: USAJRDNEMARAB1B5TEK02A.0R
APflex version: GAS_ASIA_USAJORDANTELSTRA_P033
Build number: JRDNEM_U3_2.26.0
I have not restored (booted) in to it yet, just used Recover to wipe/factory reset, then made backup of the newly wiped version, then restored my backup then booted into it.

Try posting it on Multiupload. That way you get some redundancy.

Had some trouble with the defy recovery. Came into bootloops. Now everything works and I made a nandroid of this original motorola rom:
JRDNEM_U3_2.34.1_DEBLUR -> Central Europe
Only things I've done: root, defy recovery installed
JRDNEM_U3_2.34.1_DEBLUR_NANDROID.7z @ hotfile.com
Mirror:
JRDNEM_U3_2.34.1_DEBLUR_NANDROID.7z @ uploaded.to

I'm a little lost.
If I do a backup of my original Spanish Vodafone ROM, if I have a problem and I must send my defy to repair, I can send the phone with the original firmware, unroot and with the original recovery? Or this is impossible as the moment?
Sorry, I'm not used to write in english often.

You should be able to, just remember to unroot it before sending it in?
Actually I don't know about the stock recovery, that is Tenfar's problem.

This is the stock US rom, ripped off a just-opened US T-Mobile Defy, right out of the box! I will upload until at least 5 people have the torrent, but this is something you should keep if you screw up.

You need a torrent client such as uTorrent to download this, but it is completely safe, I promise.

[Q] Downgrading From ClockworkMod V3 to V2

I have an HTC EVO 4G. I rooted it a few days ago using Unrevoked 3 because I wanted the free wifi tether app. I then realize how much rooting my phone really opens up for me. So I downloaded ROM Manager and flashed the ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.0.5 on it. I then flashed a custom ROM. I wiped all data and flashed it. I am running Fresh Evo 3.5.0.1. I decided I wanted to try a different ROM and I noticed one that has hulu. It is AVA FROYO Z3. I downloaded the ROM, wiped all data, and tried to flash it. When I did I got this error message:
“Amend Scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was depreciated by Google in Android 1.5
It was necessary to remove it when updating to the Clockwork Mod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip package”
And then the flash failed and I had to install from a recovery. I was told that the clockworkmod version 3 uses a script that isnt supported by this rom and I am out of luck until they update their rom or I downgrade back to a clockwork version 2. Will downgrading to CWMv2 have any negative affects on my phone? How would i go about downgrading? and is it possible to upgrade back to CWMv3 if needed?
By the way this is what my software information is:

[Q] Flash bootloader of Shenzen Mid970

Hi to everybody.
Last year I got a Shenzen Tablet from Taiwan:
It identifies itself as
Model: MID970
Android version: 4.0.3
Baseband version: 1.1
Kernel version: 3.0.8+, [email protected]#308
Build number 03F2-P1-H1-H01-AH40.20120413
This tablet came already rooted (with my surprise), but I am not able to flash any recovery (as CWM), backup my ROM and I cannot get into the bootloader (it appears an android icon with a red triangle). Rom Manager tells me: device not supported, flash recovery manually .I don't know, so, if it's s-off or not. It looks like it's rooted but locked at some level.
My question is then, if it's possible for this tablet to flash the bootloader, a recovery, flash a custom rom (JellyBean?) and so on?
It's a shame to have a rooted device and don't do anything interesting
I believe this tablet is a clone of something more famous but a cannot find out which one (to follow maybe solutions adopted for other devices)
Any suggestion is welcome
Thank you in advance for your time and help

[Q] CWM 6 Touch, Gingerbread, and CM 10 ... ??

Samsung GS2 Skyrocket i727
Android Version 2.3.6
Kernel version: 2.6.35.11+
Build Number: Sky-ICS-RC6.75Z
Baseband version: I727UCKJ2
Recovery is CWM Touch 6
MY PROBLEMS:
When I attempt to backup an image, it will give me an error while backing up boot img.
Also it does not allow me to flash CM 10.
I am trying to flash CM 10. What do I need to do make this possible from 2.3.6 and CWM 6?
Is my best (and safest) option to use a different version of CWM (for 2.3.6) then backup, flash CM 10, then update to CWM 6 again?
If so, what CWM version should I be using? Do I temporarily unroot? At this time, I cannot make a backup image with CWM
Any help is greatly appreciated!
This is a weird problem you are having. Try to reflash CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1777970 .

[Q] Quick question in regards to order of flashing?

Hello,
I wanted to upgrade the software on my nexus which I havent done since November I think. Currently I am on:
4.4.1
Baseband: M8974A
Kernel: Franco #54
Build Number: KOT49E
Recovery: 2.6.3.4 (Themed)
I wanted to upgrade to 4.4.4 Paranoid Android (latest stable), update my modem and update TWRP. Can someone confirm the order with me?
1) Flash the new recovery
2) Wipe data/factory reset/clean cache
3) Format /System
4) Install Paranoid android
5) Install Modem (KTU84P is the latest correct version according to my build number right?)
Would that be correct?
Also would I need to remove the TWRP theme before updating TWRP?
Thanks!!

1) Flash the new recovery
2) Take Backup
3) Wipe data/factory reset/clean cache (cache is not needed - included)
x) Format /System - Not really needed
4) Install Paranoid android
5) Install Modem (KTU84P is the latest correct version according to my build number right?) Can be done at any time
That'll work fine except I wouldn't bother to update the stock recovery. For twrp, just flash the latest twrp zip. Google recovery zip collection xda for the latest zip

USA Sprint semi-stock system image htc/hiaewhl_00651/htc_hiaewhl:6.0/MRA58K/635870.1

1.10.651.1 CL635870
Carrier: Sprint USA
Device: htc one a9
Model Number: 2PQ93
Baseband Version: 1.0.C00004.1 @51008_F
Android Version: Android Marshmallow 6.0
Sense Version: HTC Sense 7.0_G
This image contains custom boot and twrp recovery images which I installed from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-a9/development/root-htc-a9-t3244141)
Everything else is stock (/system) and this image helped me recover another device which I softbricked by accidentally deleting /system
If you soft bricked your Sprint A9 by deleting /system like I did, boot to download and flash this image:
fastboot flash system system_image
The device will download and flash a couple of times for 5 - 10 minutes.
