[APP] Ghost in the Shell Laughing Man Live Wallpaper - Android Apps and Games

Original credit for the base animation goes to Sushiman0001. Thanks to Andrew101 for the Live Wallpaper Creator tool used to make this. My first attempt at a live wallpaper, so I tried to optimize for size, quality, and smoothness of playback.
Resolution set for Droid2 on "Large" and 20 FPS.
*note* I was too lazy to fix the naming on this, so it will show up in Apps/Wallpaper selection as "GITS"
Preview in attached jpg.

I don't think this got the credit it deserved...but THANKS!!!!!!! This is amazing work and I really like the creative thought that went into this.

Doesn't work on my Motorola Defy...sadly not even the preview.

doesn't work either on Nexus S...too bad

Doesn't work on the fascinate either.

works fine on DINC
skyraider 3.5

works on captivate and i love it! Thanks

Darn... I was gonna do this and you beat me to it Well done!

Thanks!! App is great. I set it to Big and 60FPS and although I probably won't be keeping it (because I like my static wallpaper), I still think it's fun!

Unfortunately does not work, Galaxy S.

Bugger, I was really excited when I saw this thread!

Perfect on Desire HD. Many thanks!

Does not work for Galaxy S2

Doesnt work on DInc running Uber Kingdom 3.0
It installed fine but when I went to set it the preview doesnt come up and when I hit apply it just went back to my original one. Love the idea though.

Works perfect on the Echo.

Dang was hoping this would work for me, thanks for sharing.

There should really be an updated version of this amazing wallpaper, 1080p and other sizes, both black and white background versions.
And why not, also bootanimation?

[Live Wallpaper] Plasma

Hi all,
The past few weeks I've been working on a new live wallpaper for the Nexus One. Now that it's nearing completion, I figured I'd share it here and gather some feedback. It runs very smoothly for me, and has a ton of options. I put it in the Market a few days ago -- you can find it pretty easily by just searching for "clangen" or using the attached QR code.
Although I created my forum account some time ago, I apparently haven't been active enough and am permitted from adding URLs to my post -- maybe some friendly mod here can help me out?
At any rate, the screenshots don't really do it justice, so I uploaded a short demo video in ogg/theora format (should play out of the box in FF and Chrome):
http://plasma.clangen.org/images/plasma.ogg
You can also grab the latest build from the website:
http://plasma.clangen.org
If a mod can help me out I'll post some direct links to the latest builds in this thread.
Dudes not kidding, it is fast, very configurable, and most importantly looks pretty badass. Also comes with quite a few presets. Nice work man
This wallpaper kicks so much ass its insane! My favorite wallpaper. Other than the sperm one. XD
Absolutely sweet. Awesome work!
Awesome wallpaper. My screen transitions seem a lot smoother now with this running.
This wallpaper is simply ingenious! No other wallpaper has that much options. And the best thing: favorite settings can be saved!
This is great. It looks fabulous and the saving of effects is a great option to have. Good job man!
Downloaded
Installed
Played with settings
Saved a few
Set as wallpaper
LOVE IT!
Awesome job on this one!
I installed it, but it's really hard to see unless you have your screen brightness jacked up, which means it's going to kill your battery even more. Don't think I'll use it day to day.
Great job on it though.
this is finest live wallpaper i have used! YOU ARE THE MAN!
It just keeps FCing for me. I really wanted to try this too...

love the wallpaper, but it really makes the n1's color banding issue jump out at you...
Well Done
Great work man , This is one of the best.
Thanks for all the feedback, it's much appreciated
I just posted a new version (0.9.0) to my website that allows for a much wider selection of colors.

It took this long before someone put out an honest 'first impression'
Personally, the live wallpaper has great potential - but it also is a battery hog. While most wallpapers eat about 2% of power this once takes at least 3%.
nice one !bravo

No, it seems Motorola made their own custom version. It definitely looks interesting.
I could easily rip it from the official Droid 2.1 update zip, but I don't feel like downloading it, and there could be a chances that it may not function properly, or not be made for our screen size.
Hmm what does this look like?
It is all red cross-hairs that are a lot thinner than the nexus lwp... also they have a fade effect that kinda resembles a comet trail... the background is also different kinda gray fading metallic grating texture. to sum it up its AWESOME. I seen a youtube of it somewheres.
Here's a video where you can see the live wallpaper mentioned.

I pushed the wallpaper to my Nexus, but like I predicted - it doesnt work. I pushed the LiveWallpaperPicker.apk, and the LiveWallpapers.apk from the Droid update and it still did not function properly. I'm probably not doing something correctly, or, there is just more that needs to be done.
i used root explorer and tried them both as well as changing permissions ro read/write wich at least replaced the live wallpapers home menu link but thats as far as i got... i noticed theres .odex files and im thinking maybe they need de-odexed... though i dont know and could be wrong as i am not no where near that knowledgeable about porting apps... all i can do is... USE THE SEARCH BUTTON ;-) and fallow directions!
Thanks again to XDA and their Dev community!

do you have access to the 2.1 droid dump?? it probably needs libs for it to function
I can't remember which Dev did this, but there is a LWP out there that modd the proginal Nexus LWP. Search for the Dev and request it from him. Why port something that can probably be modded from existing work?
Just a suggestion.

Chris Soyars did I believe.
I copied it from other ROMS. I've gotten as far as it being listed with the other live wallpapers, but it continuously force closes.
Does anyone have a link to the Droid 2.1 dump? Ill try to tinker with it.

um... i dont think its the same as the one i got with the official ota 2.1 update... it is totally different from the nexus one aside from the fact that it has cross hairs. i want this so bad in green especially!
I would pick this over the Nexus ... I admitted it, shoot me!
Any progress though as my HTC Desire is very interested in this ...
its called NexusMod and its in market..
Pete at alldroid or Blackdroid at droidforums.net have modded versions of this wallpaper try one of them for it
Could someone please give me a direct link so I can download it straight to my Desire. Do I need root for this?
That video showed a custom exploding Droidlife boot animation but I didn't see the Droid version of the live wallpaper. Have any other links?
[edit] Oh weird. This time it worked. Must have been something funky with their Youtub channel[/edit]

[Live Wallpaper] VR Tunnel

Now on the Market!
9/13/10 - New update!
The Max version now supports album art! You can choose to skin the cubes with your album art. It will automatically cycle through all of the album art on your SD storage. I'm working on an update to support those of you with internal storage.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cWGhGnsIJI
market://details?id=com.wallpaper.VRTunnelMax - Full paid version
market://details?id=com.wallpaper.VRTunnelLite - Lite free version
I've removed the apk from here. If you already have one of the test versions installed, please uninstall it and get it from the market. That way you'll be able to get automatic updates.
To Do List
Short term:
Possibly implement some sort of color cycling so that the cubes change colors while it's running.
Long term:
User selectable textures
Pulsing when music is playing
Custom models - imagine instead of simple cubes, it was a bunch of Android robots
Thanks to everyone here for helping out with the testing!
If you can, come join us at the Big Texas Android BBQ
http://bigtxbbq.com/
Instructions:
If you've clicked on the about bar in the settings, then you've already seen these but I should include them here as well.
The tilting motion works best when the phone is in a relatively horizontal position.
Double tap the screen to re-center the tunnel.
Try tapping the cubes multiple times to change their rotation.
After watching the clip.. my mind in a daze haha. It looks reallyy good and i'm gonna try it out right now. How is it on the battery?
LOL, the 3D effect actually looks better in the video than in real life, I think.
As far as battery, I'm sure it takes quite a toll while it's on because the motion sensors are pretty power-hungry but you can turn them off in the settings if you wish.
I know this is the nexus one forum. But just as an FYI it doesn't work on my stock 2.1 telus milestone. All the cubes and the tunnel are white, regardless of the settings selected.
hmm, ok. Is the Milestone is the same as the Motorola Droid? If so, I can think of a few things to try for the next release...
nice testing now on cm6
pretty awesome so far. and pretty good for your first app
Can I test out this lwp?

Wow that is very cool!!!
This is the first cool Live Wallpaper
Have just downloaded and looking good so far. Am interested to see battery usage.
Well done. That's nice work.
WoW thanks you awesome i'm loving it !

Yeah their real close, cdma (droid) vs gsm (milestone) but I'm pretty sure it's the same gpu.
chopsui, great job! These other posts are too humble. I think this LWP is top notch!
You have managed to get a '3D' style live wallpaper to work! I think the more people that find out about this the more popular you will become. I would pay for this in the market! Watch how many people kang this from you! I look forward to more from you in the future.
Just downloaded and installed. Awesome work!
Very nice! I like it.
Thanks for the comments everyone! I'm working on the Milestone/Droid bug now. I'll let you know when I have a new build.

[Live Wallpaper] First release

Hello everyone,
IOPixel team is releasing its first Live Wallpaper.
So, we ask a little bit of your help. Would you be kind enough to test our Live Wallpaper gravitron in order to give us feedback on its behaviour and/or its look.
We know that experimented people are browsing this forum and we have very few devices to complete our testing stage.
I attach the latest version of gravitron LWP.
last edit: I upgraded the APK to solve the issues you guys mentionned
installs fine but force closes on my magic running yoshi 2.3.2 rom when trying to launch.
works fine on my SGS running stock 2.2 froyo.
not my kind of wallpaper though but looks promising.
Works for about 5 seconds then locks up wallpaper or completely locks up my G2 running Virtuous Vision 1.0.1.
Works slightly longer on my G1 running CM6, then also locks up.
I like it in theory, just doesnt seem to work well in practice. Keep at it though, looks great.
Looks nice had to minimize the effects static back ground etc, just needs optimization for older/slower devices.
Thx for preview/share.

I love this theme! Great work again Bill. Here's a screenshot of it in action(with a different wp). I would like to request a different look for the vibrate/silent icon, it looks out of place.
you're right..it does.. guess i missed one. i'll run back through it again and make a quick update. Nice looking out. And glad you like it.
Great work as always Bill, looks fantastic. Thanks for all you do!
Not trying to be ocd or anything, but I noticed on the clock/weather widget the top of some letters for day/month are cut off. Not a big deal to me, just thought you should know. Thanks again for your great work.
That one I did catch, but I like the look of the clock with the larger panels more than I do the day and month. On another note, after tip toeing through the theme, several things caught my eye that I thought could be better..so, putting something new out in just a little bit..sometimEd you have to step away from it..after looking at thousands of graphics, you trend to miss things.

Okay gang, made a few adjustments to the theme, so the OP link has been updated with the new version. The only changes were cosmetic. I fixed a few things and decided that I had used the same buttons on the last 2 themes, so I changed them and the pop up windows a bit. And, reluctantly, adjusted the clock panels. A few other minor things were altered as well. Anyhoo, I hope you like it. And thank you.
Quiet today..can I assume that everything is working well, and everyone is happy with the theme?
Everything's working perfect for me. Its my favorite do far. Thanks for all the hard work.

Here are a few test splash screens - let me know if you like these or want something different.
NST_American_Metal_-_PC36IMG.zip
NST_American_Metal_-_Masika_-_PC36IMG.zip
NST_American_Metal_-_Challenger_-_PC36IMG.zip
To use these splash screens:
1.) download to root of your sd card,
2.) change name to "PC36IMG" (without the quotes),
3.) boot into boot loader (turn off, volume down + power)
4.) The phone should recognize the zip and ask if you want to update
5.) select up to apply.
Man kfunk, your are so damn SICK! I love the way toy warped the flag in the first one. You're awesome.

Is anyone else having issues with the notification pull down? Mine will not work most of the time. It was fine for the first day, then it just stopped working. I also had a few twitches where the clock app would open up as if I touched the widget, the phone screen had not been touched for several minutes before it happened. I currently run OTA rls5 w/chopsuey, a2sd and at that time V6. I have rebooted, without luck, then used GW's wipeall, reflashed fresh downloads of rls5/chopsuey/a2sd and American Metal. Still can't pull down the notification bar. I can access by using menu/notifications, but that's it. I have not added any apps or changed anything since flashing this theme, and came from using CIWYW.
Wow...no I've never had that issue...but I will flash back to stock and try to recreate it to see if I can find the issue. Sorry that's happening to you.
Don't be sorry, I still love this theme. The best way I can explain it is, its like the touchscreen feature doesn't work, but only in the notification bar, the rest of my homescreen works fine. Thanks for looking into it, like I said, it didn't start right away, took about 24 hours for first problem to show up. Not even sure its the theme, that's why I reflashed everything just in case.
dude this is awsome, been using it since the relase no prb what so ever... great work.
can't wait to see what you cook up next... and your splash screens are awsome aswell
thanks for the great work.
