Hey guys,
Just wondering been looking on internet everywhere and can't find it. Can you put Windows 7 ROM from new Windows mobiles onto HTC desire HD?

I don't think it is. WP7 phones have a hardware checker or something like that, so it probably wouldn't even boot up without a lot of hacking. I could be wrong though!
AFAIK Windows 7 is only available for X86 and AMD64, so no Android phone would be able to run it even if it met the other requirements.

There are versions for mobile devices, for example I've got a gps device with windows onboard..its not windows 7 mobile but there is mobile version of win for these devices.
its not exactly as windows but has some simularities, windows 8 would be exactly the same(..so they say )

Hey guys.
I had a look at the Windows 7 Phone and I really like the OS. Is there a ROM or something I can download for my HTC Desire GSM that will allow it to run Windows 7 Phone Os?
Thanks.
Btw. I'm rooted.
Sounds like something fun to try at least. Have you looked at metro ui or launcher 7? They are pretty cool and look good on my nexus one.

there is a app for android to use windows phone on android but its not the windows os. am looking for it too but no luck hope you find it
If you get the HTC HD2 you can run windows mobile 6.5.x, windows phone 7, or android 1.6 to 2.3 on it. (and if you really want you can get windows 95 and windows xp going on it too..haha)
I've done all of the above with mine - works great.
Ive been reading alot about running windows on android device, its possible, but whats up with the speed?why everything is so slow? I remember back in 2008 i was able to run windows 95 on my n95...but now our tf300 or other android phones is much faster,so whats up with the speed?is it video drivers?i would love to run winxp on my tab *^▁^*
Yeah, there is a possibility of running Windows 98 and older using dosbox, but it is nearly unusable, since it's pretty slow.
Also there will be Windows 8 released for mobile devices, but not separately sold, it will only be available for official Windows 8 tablets
Well i guess then we will be able to create(rip) an image of windows 8 and port it to another devices but i assume that will be piracy and not allowed to post here XD
Just wondering if it would be possible to do a full install of windows 8 on my Xoom (WiFi).
keep dreaming
Isn't Windows 8 locked down fully to only PC and registered Windows 8 Tablets?
windows8 arm is OEM ONLY so a legal copy will not exist for user install.
so even if it were possible you wont find it on xda or any other legit site because that would be piracy
I wouldn't pirate it at all I was just wondering if it would be possible if I bought a legit copy of windows 8 rt to run on the Xoom. But after searching it up on Google it looks like it won't be able to at least not anytime soon.
Windows 8 RTas mentioned is oem only.this means only manufacturers known by microsoft can use it and install it on their products.
You cannot simply go to the shops and buy a copy as they wont stock it.
Microsoft provide the software for the manufacturer and that is it

Yup yup, keep on dreaming, besides it wouldn't run all that great on a Tegra 2 compared to a Tegra 3.
Hi to all,
several months I did not look for anything on the xda-developers because I bought new Windows Phone 7 device (HTC 7 Trophy) and it still works very good. Xda-developers web was very helpful for me when I owned old HP Ipaq 614c and here was many of great ROMs for that device. So now I have this question:
What is happend with xda-developers.com? I can not find nothing here. I do not understand the new phone operating systems and the way how to "hack" them. But now I am looking for the appropriate ROM for my device and nothing was found I bought new Huawei Ascend G300 and I want to replace Android on it with Windows Phone operating system. Is there any way how to get Windows Phone working on that device? I found only some youtube video where somebody has Ascend G300 with WP8.
GeogrX
PS: I hope you understand me even though my english is not very good
Sadly there isn't any real wp8 available for any android phone. The YouTube ones may be using themes. You can download launcher 8 from playstore to feel wp8 on android

**** the any louncher. I think that I should to work with android until my Windows Phone will be back from authorized service. I broked the display on it. But I have to say that Microsoft build very good system. More better than android. Stability and working with WP is more simple than with android. In compare with Windows mobile 6.x it differ in that we can not try various custom rom as easy like on older phones. Only HTC HD2 looks like universal device which can work under MS systems and android. Thats bad...
Is rhere any way you can put windows 8 rt on yiur asus, im still using the stock rom

It looks like at least the basic hardware on the tablet is supported by Windows 8 RT, but Microsoft doesn't sell it directly. Your best bet is to get in touch with someone who has a Microsoft developer account, and see if they can get an image for you. That said, Windows 8 is pretty awful. If you want to turn your tablet into a more full computer, I recommend looking at the Ubuntu Touch, Arch, or XUbuntu threads in the development section.
This tablet will never run windows rt (not absolutly true if you enjoy windows rt in qemu enviroment:silly hint the tf600 is basically this tablet with windows rt.
But even then our linux ports created by only a few people run better then 90% of windows rt tablets lol, youd be jelious of our linux if you had a windows rt tablet
