[Q] Root or not root

dont have a root but have a root on some apps.

If you have that rom, yo have root. Have you that rom?

Just read the ROM's thread carefully.
Automatically gives root access to:
Titanium Backup
Root Explorer
SetCPU
MarketEnabler
Isn't compatible with Superuser. Superuser.apk and related files will be removed from system.

If you're rooted and have a custom recovery image you can flash that rom. Is that what you're trying to ask?

No i flash rom from first post and i dont acces to root on some apps np:
Titanium backup have acces but battery calibration no, root explorer have acces but sd-booster no etc. Now i flash rom witch my next post wen i I do not have

[Q] Uninstall Superuser / unroot?

I backed up my app data with Titanium and went back to stock. So I'd like to restore my data but you need root for that. So I flashed superuser to gain root access, but is there a way to now 'unflash'?
Something through emulator and delete some binaries?

Download ES File Explorer. In the app, go to Settings, and choose to go up to 'root level' If it asks for Superuser, go ahead and allow it. Remove /system/bin/su, or /system/xbin/su, and then remove /system/app/Superuser.apk. Reboot and enjoy your un-rooted phone.

Hey marby!
I've been looking for an answer to my issue but could not find it so may I ask you for help, please?
I have rooted my SGSIII (the process added CWM and superSU).
After a month I recieved the update to JB4.1.1; I installed it and the root acces disapeared but SuperSU app stills there!!
I want to root my phone again, do you know if I have to uninstall SuperSU before I manage to root with any method for JB 4.1.1?

I'm sorry, since the subject was root/unroot I thought it will apply to any phone with JB 4.1.1

which phone you are using?
clock work mod (cwm) can be install by Rom manager application
first root your device
install rom manager from play store
open the app and click flash the cwm
install busy box that increase phone
from titanium backup you can backup all your phone apps and contacts..

since your device is not on the xda so you have to find other ways...
my advice is to find your device on facebook...if there is a group over there you can get on with other people with similar devices and contact a devloper for making a rom...

i cant c y u would have to unroot, it shouldnt matter as apps dont care if it is rooted or unrooted, correction some apps u have to b rooted to work properly.
do u actually get an error message when trying to install an app
the only way is to restore back to stock, or if u just rooted ur stock firmware, meaning u didnt flash a rom, u can try flashing the system.img file, that might work but i never heard of any1 doing that

Yes, application refuses to work telling me that "rooted" phones are not supported. So basically it installs, checks if phone is rooted and refuses to proceed. I hoped I can flash something in CMW to temporarely unroot, then run application, let it do it one time thing (I need to run this application only once successfully) and then I root back in CWM again.

dont think there is a temporary unroot method, going back to stock was the true method to unrooting, which app were u trying to install.
u can trying going back to stock, installing app, let it do its thing, backup with tibu or some other backup, reroot and then restore backup of app.....maybe wont work as restoring a backup is actually reinstalling the app

Using root explorer or ES File Explorer, mount system as r/w, delete /system/app/Superuser.apk, /system/bin/su or /system/xbin/su (it will be in one of those two places), and then reboot. done.

thats deleting the app the rooted the phone, but does it actually undo the rooting process, the system files the app changed to make it rooted r still there, the way to check is if u do delete su app, c if root explorer can can mount ur system folder to r/w, or op can c if it the app does install after deleting su.
actually u need su to grant su, so that might not b a good test

The superuser cwm zip installs su and superuser.apk, that's it. There are no other modified apps.
You can remove busy box also if you like, but it's not much use without su.

There is cool app in Playstore (free) which allows rooting/unrooting with no reboots and other complicated steps

Voodoo OTA can do a temp unroot as well. The Flixter app will not allow you to stream movis on a rooted phone. I used Voodoo to temp unroot then went back into Flixter and it started to play the movie.

I use an app called Temp root remover
It allows you to temporarly unroot and reroot in a matter of seconds

[Q] Titanium Backup Help

I've got it installed and did an initial backup. Then I set up regular backups. It seemed to be working okay, until I moved my backup files to my SD card and specified that TB back up to that location from now on. Now I keep getting messages saying TB couldn't get root access, so it never runs the periodic backups. Typically, I'm asleep when this happens, so I can't even grant root access when it wants it.
Also, I'm just unsure about whether I'm performing a backup of everything I'd need if I ever need to completely restore my system. Any information about what, exactly, I should be backing up, would be appreciated.

We need more info... Are u Rooted? Are u on stock? Wat ROM are u going to restore your backup on?

Sure... I am rooted. I started with stock US ICS, flashed the German JB OS, and then did a factory reset when the US JB was released. Now I'm on that. I imagine I would be restoring to that, if anything horrible should happen.

OK you might have root but lets check first..
1a...Go to the super user app and see if Tb has grant access..If No clear it from superuser and return back to Tb and it should ask for root..
1b...If you go into super user app and it says you don't have Root than you gotta need to root yourself again..
Also the best backup is a Cwm backup after you setup a good ROM...

SuperSU shows a green number sign next to Titanium Backup. I'm assuming that means it has root access? (As an aside, there's an red number sign next to something called dumpstate. I remember that asking for root access, and I denied it, twice.)
When I opened Super SU, nothing said I didn't have root access.
What is CWM?

It sounds like to me you lose root... How did you get root before? And CWM is clockworkmod..

Sounds to me like Titanium Backup has auto updated, and Super SU is now checking again. There is a setting in Super SU to allow previously granted programs to use root without prompting even after update.

What, of what I told you, tells you I lost root? I can get root access to my file system with my file explorer. I can access the apks in my data/data folder.
I know what CMD stands for. I just don't know what it is. I see it here on the forum all the time, but like a lot of terms here, people refer to them and don't really say what they are.

Hi everybody
I have a problem with titanium backup - i can't create a label for my frozen apps.
1) First i select frozen apps in filters so that only frozen apps are displayed
2) Then i hit Create Label and Add Elements. Here is the problem - after i hit Add Elements i get a list of all apps on my device, not just frozen ones.
However if i wanted to create a label for defrosted apps, it would do it just fine.
So am i doing something wrong or is it a bug?
