[Q] Factory Restore Files - G Tablet General

Hi all I am new to this forum. I decided to purchase a G Tablet after reading many threads that I have found here. I was looking for a tablet and decided on the G tablet because it looks like it has the best hardware (overall) and is customizable.
So here is my question.
When I receive the tablet how should I go about making a factory default backup?
Just in case after I start modding it, I have issues, I want to be able to restore back to factory settings.
Thanks in advance.

Some flashing/rom upgrading safety questions (on an Eris)

Hey guys,
Great forums here, lots of awesome stuff going on and the development community is kicking!
I recently got rid of my iPhone (couldn't stand Job's arrogance anymore) and decided to go with the cost effective route of MetroPCS. When I found Android phones could be flashed to work with it, I was quite excited. I found a phone and someone to do the flashing on Craigslist (actually a local phone shop that does it).
He flashed my phone and loaded Evil Eris onto it. I wasn't under the impression that if he put this rom on, I was going to have issues, like no voicemail notification or softkey leds. Going into this, I was pretty unaware of all the different rom choices, and the effects they have on the phone, and I still kind of am. So I have a few questions, because I've been reading about Ivans and kind of want to try it out, but want to make sure I've covered all my bases.
1. I am still unaware of the exclusivity or co-dependence that "flashing" a phone and changing a rom have with one another. He flashed my phone to work with Metro, and upload the Evil Eris rom. Main question is - if I wipe and load Ivans, do I lose the ability to use Metro? Or is it simply an issue of loading up my Metro APN (i think thats right) settings once I've loaded the new rom?
2. Nandroid backup - I made one the other day. If I go in, try another rom, and screw something up, I am under the impression that I could restore that backup and my phone be working like I never left it, including MetroPCS settings, correct?
3. Can anyone suggest a good program to backup and restore carrier specific settings, so that if I load a new rom I can quickly port settings over? Does something like this exist?
4. Finally, if all of this has been answered somewhere where I didn't find, feel free to send me to those links!
Thanks in advance, everyone! Looking forward to getting to know my new phone better!
anyone able to help me out? or point me in the right direction?
I also want to make sure I posted this in the right place, not sure if it needs to be in the Eris specific forum.
I really hope you've found help already. But if not, I THINK the app called "APN Backup & Restore" is the app you're looking for.

[Completed] Searching for Custom Mod for chinese fake samsung

Last year in china i bought a chinese fake samsung tablet.
It should be a tab 9 note(never heard of it) but that doesn't matter for now. It is fine for some browsing and social media.
I got a new real samsung tablet, so i root the chinese one with kingoapp. Works perfectly!!!
The system is rooted and after reset there is in red the word DEMO on the screen. I looked over every setting, but all the demo settings are turned off. Also tried reset to factory defaults, but also no results?!?
Now i was looking to install a custom rom and hopefully solve the problem.
Already installed some custom rom apps, but all didn't recognized the tablet.
The model of the tablet is TW-900B
I have no idea what brand it is.
If someone needs more info, let me know!!
I hope that someone can help me.
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Unfortunately I have to be the bearer of bad news, you're going to find out extremely hard to find custom ROMs for a fake/clone device as they simply don't exist. This is just the way it us with clone devices, sorry, and good luck.

[Completed] Finally got my SM-T217a running 4.4.2 rooted

But because for so long the bootloader seemed unlockable, and because when they finally did get it unlocked, it was with a device that was almost 200$, there was a complete lack of development on this particular device once it was given the 4.4.2 upgrade. Over the course of a year, I have found many things about the tablet that I have been unable to find out on my own to get into.
I found that the tab 3 lte was actually designed as a really big phone, but the dialer, phone and dialer storage were blocked by AT&T, so even with a sim chip, the tablet just will not function as a phone without getting a VOIP app, and I really shouldnt have to considering that I have a perfectly good phablet capable of actual phone calls. I dont know how to use terminal emulator very well, or if the language changes drastically between versions of Android.
I was also wondering if it was actually possible to unlock the bootloader from Terminal emulator now that I have full root.
Is there a way of finding out if my current stock rom is one of those that have the SO- attached to the system folders so that I cant write anything to the system folders without reverting to out of the box system restore. And lastly, I was wondering if there was ever any custom recovery that was made for this device that would be usable now, considering that when the device came out it was on Jellybean, not kitkat. If anyone could help me I would be greatly appreciative. I know it sounds like a lot of work for a tablet , but I am not exactly overflowing with money to go and buy a new one. This was a gift and I just want to try to avoid bricking it when I just now finally got the damned things rooted.

FRP Bypass Galaxy Core Prime SM-G360T1(MetroPCS)

Good Day Community:
I've came across this forum quickly upon some brief research on my issue.
My GF purchased a Core Prime-G360T1 for Metro this past weekend from a private seller. She thought she was doing the right thing by having the seller factory reset the phone in front of her but the seller didn't remove the original Gmail account prior to doing that.
Now I'm stuck at the set up screen asking to input original Gmail email to move forward. Great security feature for this OS 5.1.1 but not so great if you just bought this phone and have no idea what the original email is.
I found a quick fix if this phone supports OTG but after purchasing a cable; I found out the hard way that this model does not support it out of the box.
There's a lot of great info throughout these threads but after searching I couldn't find a thread regarding my issue. I hate to start a new thread as I like to keep things neat and tidy myself. I'm a noobie to this after starting research last night but I'm tech savy and willing to learn or be directed in the right direction. Looks like a lot of great info on here on how to root, flash, etc but I don't know how to start if I can't even get into the phone at this moment.
Highly motivated as my GF thinks she got taken advantage of and threw away money for an early holiday present.
Removing the gmail account shouldn't have anything to do with it. I suggest booting to recovery and resetting again. It should print out that it's wiping the cache's. This should remove all the previous user data. If not, flashing a stock rom over it should help.
And invest in a replacment stock cable. Nothing beats using the cable designed for the phone.

Hello There:
Thanks for your insight. I'm able to get into recovery easily with holding the the Volume UP, Power, and Home buttons simultaneously. It does give me that option which I've tried countless times to do a factory reset essentially erasing all user date before joining the community to no avail.
From my understanding with my research on Lollipop 5.1.1 .. the bootloader has Factory Reset Protection aka Google "Icloud Lock" which makes extremely difficult to get past if you don't know the original Gmail account and password.
Can anyone confirm if I flash it with a stock rom that it'll work? Also how would I go about finding the stock rom?
You can try using kies 3 and the emergency recovery option or try initializing the upgrade again and see what that does. There's a chance the previous owner locked the phone via Google and is making or next to impossible to even use. The only other choice is either flashing stock rom, still no guarantees as the security protocols may survive or going to a Samsung store, usually a best guy has them inside, explain it to them and have them fix it. They have machines that can re flash the original firmware basically making it like you just bought it. Outside of all of that, I'm out of ideas.

[Completed] LG G3 bootloop/bricked?

Okay, I have a Sprint LG G3. So about two days ago I rooted the phone using the King Root app, everything worked fine except for a few random reboots (i shouldve took that as a hint to unroot it but im stupid). I did remove some factory apps but only things that didnt seem important such as Google News and Books and stuff like that. Anyway i clearly dont know what im doing but a few hours ago i was installing a font onto my phone and when it went to auto reboot my phone got stuck in bootloop?? and im not sure what to do. I don't mind factory resetting the phone, but i have REALLY important things on there (14,000 photos, 400+ videos, 500+ songs, and important documents) that i would like to get from the internal storage. I found another forum that kinda relates to my problem (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2339530)???? Im sorry i'm really stupid and confused, all I want are my pictures/videos/music/documents; the other stuff i can live without. The best thing for me would be to get back my phone completely, but if im at least able to get my important stuff saved on a computer or something then that would be good too. And yeah nothing is backed up anywhere so... If anyone has advice please dumb it down as much as you can because like i said i obviously am a confused person; i am never rooting anything in my life ever again. Thanks
