I use a Holux bluetooth GPS. Works fine using an app called Bluetooth GPS provider. I use it with Co-Pilot. Your GPS will show paired but not connected but the bluetooth helper program I mentioned will let it talk to your GPS software. There are probably other helper apps out there that work also.

I don't remember where I got it anymore. I use it but I am pretty sure there are other apps like it in the market.
Here is a link to show what it is and maybe download.

Hey, I have a Motorola Q9h and I'm using it to connect my laptop to the internet.
Currently I am using the Internet Connection Sharing program "IntShrUI.exe" and connect via USB. Now I heard that it was possible to use a Bluetooth PAN instead of the USB cable. The only problem is that the "Bluetooth PAN" option doesn't show up in IntShrUI.exe
I searched through a lot of forums and read many threads but didn't find any answers. Only some more people asking about that issue
baimo- you were right on. Got it up and running with my laptop. The only thing I noticed that a USB was the only option to tether. Didn't see a Bluetooth connection option. But regardless, good to go. Thanks.

First and foremost, thank you XDA comunity for all of your help!!!
Soooooooo.....
I have been wanting to share my GPS badly.... when I share it using "Share GPS" from the market, I can connect via bluetooth, but it's in and out and not a solid connection (is there something possibly wrong with my bluetooth on my tab, or on my galaxy s phone??)
Anyways, I see an option to connect via USB instead of bluetooth.. my guess is that this would be a much more stable connection when compared to the BT... but, I can not get it to work for the life of me.
Is there a special trick to share my GPS? Any way to do it via USB or maybe even WiFi?
Thank you!! Alex

Which Bluetooth GPS program are you using on the G-Tab?
I see most people on this board reference "Bluetooth GPS" :
http://www.appbrain.com/app/bluetooth-gps/googoo.android.btgps
I actually use "Bluetooth GPS Provider":
http://www.appbrain.com/app/bluetooth-gps-provider/de.mobilej.btgps
I had some issues with the former, but the latter has been rock solid for me.
While I have done GPS sharing with my DroidX, I primarily use an external GPS mouse I picked up on Amazon for about $30.00

Thank you so much for your info!! What the heck do you use a GPS mouse for?
I downloaded the program- "Bluetooth GPS" but when I hit connect, it says "Service Discovery Failed".... any ideas on what that could be, and how
I can work around it?
Thanks again for all your help!!!
did you pair it first?
I'm actually using my old Samsung Epix Winmo phone with GPSGate and it's been rock solid so far.
I can't download either of those. It first didn't show up. I did Market fix. Now, they show up, say they are downloading, but don't. I have tried have the link sent to my email....but it just took to a dead link.....I really want to try this and see it work.....any suggestions....make back up with Titanium and redo the market fix?
Also, I can never get anything to connect....it will say it is paired but not connected.....how do I fix that?

For GPS sharing, it will only say "paired bot not connected". Once the GPS program actually establishes a connection, that may change ...
I too had trouble downloading them from the market. I ended up downloading them to my phone, then sideloading the APK's.
I've attached both of the APK's to this message.
I also suggest you read through this thread... it's all about GPS & tethering:

Thanks for answering! Great idea about downloading to phone and then to gtablet. I still am having problems with the pairing. But, it does this with my Apple computers. Will say that they are paired but not connected. The security verification comes up I accept on both ends....but still no connection. Have tried using Blluetooth DUN.....anyway....appreciate your response....gave you a thanks for the count! :_)
Is it possible to get a gps usb adapter and plug it into the tablet?
I don't think it will work with USB. I use a Bluetooth GPS with no problems though. You just need to pair and then use a program like Blue GPS, or Bluetooth GPS Provider to interface your Nav program with it. I use Co-Pilot for Nav but if you also tether your phone to the tablet using wifi then Google Nav will also work. You can even use the GPS on your phone with a program called Share GPS on the phone. Lots of way, USB is probably not one of them though unless you have a driver for your GPS that was written for Android.

What about a link to a bluetooth gps physical unit?
The one I use is a Holux GPS Slim 236. It is a couple years old and has been discontinued. There are lots of different ones out there.
Here is a link to my my discontinued Holux.

I'm trying to tether the transformer to my phone via Bluetooth and it doesn't seem to work. They will pair but refuse to connect. Tapping on the device does nothing too. I've tried re-pairing them a couple of times to no avail. Is anybody experiencing this?
Yes, I know the phone is old.....gonna upgrade soon!
I'm having the same issue with my INC with cm7.03

Works thanks!
Bloody hell, that works! Thanks!
What did that Bluetooth File Transfer app do though?
@kaguyahouraisan
I was simply using the Wireless Tether app on the market.
I just installed Bluetooth File Transfer app on my TF but I'm still not able to tether my TF to my phone via BT for internet access. Can someone please post more detailed instructions.
Thanks.
I installed it on both my TF and the Magic. Pair them up as per normal, then connect them via the BT File Transfer app. Once I got them to connect, I could connect them through the Bluetooth settings page without needing the BT File Transfer anymore.

Hi All, has anyone had any success in getting android devices such as the MK808B to work with external GPS devices such as the Prolific PL2303? Desperately trying to find a way to support it so that I may use one to make a car PC. So if anyone can help / advise me how to install drivers and get it recognised in copilot I would be extremely grateful. Thanks
Dave

I did try this using my android phone and a few apps that share your phone GPS as a bluetooth GPS but couldnt get it recognized by copilot. Id definately be open to this if i can get it recognized in there. Currently im using an archos 80 G9 tablet as my car PC, but want to switch to this mini pc for better performance and a better mounting option for in the dash - so my aim is to get GPS and a HDMI / USB touchscreen (such as an egalax screen) working. Then its a go. Ill then probably turn my hand to application development (my day to day job) to come up with the best option user interface wise and will happily share all the information and software i develop with the community.
MK808B + CoPilot (GlobalSat BT-359)
I am able to use MK808B + CoPilot (GlobalSat BT-359) with the help of a mock GPS provider app (Blutooth GPS). GoogleMaps \ Sygic are both working perfect.
I am also looking for a HDMI/USB touch screen for it, any update on this?

Ok, got a copilot branded BT GPS device, and its recognised and seems to be working with some apps - but not the one i want the most, copilot. It just states its unable to register for GPS updates, which sucks!

I have one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Dual-Electron...p/B006M49G80/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=136138107
I use it w/out issue w/Google Maps, so I'll drop co-pilot on and see how it works out.

I contacted the makers of Co-pilot and they said they dont support external GPS receivers. I have both the bluetooth and USB receivers but I think for co-pilot to support them I'd need to get to be recognised as the inbuilt GPS receiver. Co-pilot tells me its unable to register for GPS requests - but other apps _seem_ to work, but currently all my testing is done on a PC monitor, so its hard to hit the road and see if its actually working. I currently have an archos G9 80 built into my Jag XK8 and im so pleased with the functionality - but not so much with the GPS support (can be hit and miss) and with the mounting. Prior to that i had a windows PC, but that was much worse of an installation.
