Google Maps 5.0 is out! - myTouch 4G General

Go download it folks! Looks like everything is working on my mt4g .. 3D maps, etc.

Yeah, but rotate is still partially broken for our phones as of this moment.

The MT4G is still not on the list of supported devices. Something isn't adding up there though. Why would the original Droid be supported, but not the Nexus One when the N1 is much more powerful hardware? That's like a P4 supporting Windows 7, but not a Core i7...

What's wrong with the rotate?

It only works if you click the compass twice. It doesn't work if you try to use it via multitouch.

And why would the G2 be supported yet not our phone? I have a few questions on this device list they have.
However, I think it's understandable why the Droid gets support over the Nexus One. I'd say it has something to do with the multitouch hardware but that again doesn't explain why we aren't supported...yet?

I don't see that issue.. I'm able to rotate just fine and use the 2 finger panning, etc.

My multitouch rotate works just fine. Same with the camera down to street level function.

I download it and better I love the 3d maps

Strangely enough... After I force stopped it, all the functions worked. Oh well.

my rotate works just fine ... haven't found any features not working on the mt4g yet...seems like we're all in there.
it's pretty freakin' boss.

Once it starts recognizing the multitouch as a zoom it won't let you rotate. Have to pick your fingers up and try again, maybe that's what you experienced?

Very cool. How do you activate the 3D map?

3d maps isn't available everywhere. You just have to zoom into somewhere that has it, like vegas.

Awesome, tried it out for vegas, guess los angeles doesnt have 3d yet

i can pan, zoom, and rotate at the same time.

I'm viewing Manhattan in 3D mode and am zoomed far in, yet I'm not seeing 3D buildings. I don't see anything 3D-related in layers, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Multi touch rotate works great for me. Btw, Los Angeles does have 3D buildings. Try downtown LA, and you also have to zoom in kinda of a lot to see the 3D buildings.

Just tried it out. Runs really smooth. I'm running cyanogen 5.0.6 with kmob kernel. I also tried this out with the wiimote app and it works but because its a FPS, the controls are just as difficult as using the trackball and volume button like the person on the vid did. But anyways it was very interesting, but with the controls being so difficult it didn't remain on my phone

For those of you saying it's smooth, are you running kwaak3.apk or kwaak3_test_v11c.apk ?
fps
It is really jerky on my mobile as well. I am using the stock sd card however which I believe is a class 2. It might make a difference as some people are using the same directions with flawless results. Maybe they are using a class 6 speed sd card?

Would recomend an ADB install. Apps2sd is working nicely for me, no lost internal memory for me!

Nice work Legion.
^ am about to try on the Desire so I'll let you know. I suspect it might be designed for larger display (or it would probably be in the market already) but fingers crossed...
Found a ripped version some days ago ... did not worked on my nexus 6, sorry, nexus one
so i will try this version, but i think it will be the same...game starts, but no ingame graphics...
Doesn't work on Desire either
Loads and everything but you don't get any graphics other than the hands on an invisible steering wheel. If you switch to outside view you just get gfx weirdness.
I also got a message on startup saying "this device don't have a number"... strange

Wow, I'm flattered, thanks man. Sorry to all the desire and nexus one owners, other snapdragon users have tried to get this working with no success.
lol I couldn't help but notice "NFS ****". That was the only reason I clicked on the link.
NFS is a fun game but not enough to satisfy those who pursue simulation and challenge.
Anyone care to explain how this game is being played on a nexus one, yet there are graphical issues when I try to? Here's proof that it can be done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtube_gdata&v=gfJVqFlVAtE
its simple really. the version on the droid x is optimized for a different GPU than the snapdragon GPUs, that is why it doesn't work on the N1, Desire, EVO, etc.

Post pictures shot from your EVO

One of the reasons I bought the EVO was because it had a stunning 8 MP camera with a dual led flash. There are a lot of applications for the camera and for every occasion you could use different apps to get the best possible shot. I'm sure there are a lot of photography enthusiasts on this forum who can share their pictures and discuss about the various applications and its features.
Please mention the app that you've used along with any additional information.
While posting remember to include the following.
1. Post Picture
2. Name of the App
3. Additional Settings

Does anyone know if FXcamera is running after I shut it down?

Any hopes for a QVGA version? Light enough to run on a overclocked Wildfire with stock froyo?
Thanks.
Run really well but multi-touch is not soo good.

if you have a nexus or a desire that is the HW problem.
I have no multitouch problems on my Desire.

Yes, part 3 and not 2.
the thing won't load on my Wildfire. hopefully they'll make a lite version for us with cheap phones
HTC Aria
It plays on my htc aria but its too big for my screen and can onlly move with half the move & fire pads
Works great on my Captivate, thanks!

Thanks so much for share it, its a very funny game
This looks awesome! Going to try it on my N1.
edit : the controls are pretty good but I think it suffers from the crossing axis bug on the Nexus One because when you use one control at a time it's accurate but if you run and gun it screws up.
if you had the option to have one control (left control) at the top, it would fix that.

Very nice and welcome app.
For an alfa it works quite well in my SGS2 although the size of the calculator is a bit small.
The developer is aware of that and it should be solved on next releases.
The rom can be downloaded directly from the ti site:

It's like that for everyone I'm pretty sure. Hopefully screen space can be better used.
Do we use the titanium(v3.10) or just regular (v2.09) version?
so this will not work for the ti-84 right?
nvm i completely missed the point lol
Been using this for a few weeks now on my touchpad.
Friend of mine wants to use it in her tutoring job. She says that in actual use it is very slow. Is there any chance that there will be upcoming speed and performance improvements?

Awesome
I had the emulator on my old MDA like 4-5 years ago, and my teacher flipped out back then. I just graduated this summer so I won't be using it everyday but i already downloaded and gota dust off my TI to get the rom files, this brings back so many memories. awesome
this is the best news I got today. Been using Andy's 86 an making due (rarely carry my calculator into the field) Was hoping someone would make an emmy for the 89. btw, if not mentioned, the Titanium Rom appears to work. I haven't tried all of it out, of course, but the basic stuff does fine. Some thing's I'd change, the UI - the letters are a bit hard to read in purple. And the haptic feedback, I'd like to be able to turn off.
Been looking for someone to do this from a while works great, get more use out of my Elocity A7.
Great work
Would this app be capable of running assembly games? I know there are a million better games to play right from the android market, but just for the nostalgia of it all, I would love to load up some assembly games onto the calc emulator.
Anyone tried this?
The screen area on the Galaxy Nexus is really small, but the other UI components are normal sized. I'm guessing this is a resolution issue?
Really nice app, ima give it a shot.
Thanks for sharing!
It works great on my Kindle Fire running CM9. As others have said, it's not the best use of screen space - on my phone it's hardly usable, but on the Fire it's a big enough screen to be very nice, just like the real thing.
I was waiting for this since I own my Nexus S. Thank you so much for doing this.
Do you think it would be possible, to make this emu Voyage200 capable? It is the same hardware like the 89 but with a bigger screen and especially more keys.
This is a great work! But the resolution is very small on my Desire HD.
Great! It would be nice if it fills all the screen.
wow this is a nice app. no need to bring calc anymore
This is not my app. XD I am just posting this so people know its out there.
