I really like the features that the sense weather and clock widget, and it isn't offered with that of the awd. Is there any way to have the same features that the sense weather and clock widget have on this type of launcher. Ohh and I got the fancy weather widget, but its just not the same as the regular. HALP!
You can't have both. You have to choose.

You can only find replacements...once again sense widgets only work with the sense home.
look for fancy widgets on the market

Yup, I'm using ADW but I really really miss that News widget
Really about the only thing I miss from sense, but it was a *nice* news widget!

Who cares if it is exactly the same? They have more skins and options than the Sense clock could ever hope for. I'm sure you could find something that you like just as much or more.

life is a series of trade offs, isnt it!
I missed the Sense widget initially, but, after doing alot of searching, I found great stuff to use with Launcher Pro...

Weather & Toggle Widgets are my favorites (mainly because the Beautiful Widgets brightness widget doesn't work with Sense phones).

I use weather and toggle with the sense clock and weather icon clones (h7c-clock.zip and h7c.zip) which you can download through the apps settings. I also have the forecast add-on for weather toggle which is nice.
I agree
I hear you, I miss the Picture Gallery and bookmark widgets, I really want to quickly view my pictures and recorded videos like on the Touch Pro 2.
I have found a nice calendar replacement, and music replacement. It's a trade off, My co-worker also has an EVO, so I like mine to look totally sleek and different, i'm happy with ADW launcher.

The "Pure" calendar widgets are pretty popular choices.
ditto. also the agenda view for the calendar widget is awesome
I'm coming from using the desire rom and I find the news widget it has functional and useable. Its nice, customizable and scrollable. I use it to get updates from engadget and gizmodo, but coming to froyo I can't find anything even remotely comparable. I can't believe there's no simple clean 4x4 capable & scrollable widgets out there. I've searched and haven't found any so I'm asking if anyone here knows of any that's good and compatible with Froyo or even a way to use the HTC news widget outside of sense ui.
Thanks in advance.

you do realize, of course, that need you need a special home replacement to do scrollable widgets? Hmm? ADW or home++ blah blah. Anyway, the only ones that scroll are the pure messenger and pure calendar and a dumb bookmark one. Unless I'm missing one, anyone?
ps you're right that would be awesome, i'm surprised no one has started making more scrollable widgets for the new launchers. Francois Deslandes is the man, I guess.
Thanks for the reply, but does pure messenger do rss though?
no rss. it does email, facebook, twitter and sms
Hi. I'm looking for a scrollable bookmark widget for a long time (about a year) but I can't find something like that somehow.
I don't understand why there isn't. Is it so hard to make or doesn't Android support that?
Btw, I don't want to use LauncherPro.

Edit: App's name is Colorize. It's free and you can find in Market by searching ''colorize''.
Thanks to AquaeAtrae and developer
Would love to see a widget like that as well
Upssss!!
I believe Colorize may have a good widget for you. I prefer it's Facebook and Twitter widgets over all others.
I've posted a collection of all scrollable widgets in the Themes forum if you want to see and compare what the various widgets look like...

Thanks a lot. That's what I've been looking for. Great widget. But it needs a new name to be found easily

Agreed. I'm sure it has, like so many Android projects, grown far beyond its initial design. It really has outgrown its name; I only found it because I was searching for EVERY scrollable widget out there. I was quite surprised when I found decent sized thumbnails in its social feed widgets--something I'd been looking for. Glad it worked for ya.
What are the best Calendar apps or widgets, of any variety and quickly why?
If the app costs $, be sure to say so!
I'm compiling a list of threads that will help people find the best apps/widgets of each category. Will recompile when done so your help is greatly appreciated!
LaucherPro!
Plus version has a calendar, contacts ans sms widget
PowerNote for notes and widget, has a nice UI
Smart ShortCuts creates shortcuts of apps by catergory
BuzzBox for news!
Beautiful Widgets! Has a niiice weather unlock animation and a clock with themes.
That's all I can tell as for the best in my opinion...
Cheers!

Back again, just tried business calender beta. Nice app. but in my opinion Jorte is much better: more readable textiel in week view for example.
Pure Calender Widget
Pure Calender Widget, costs about € 0,79, but it works nice, very much functions, sizes, etc. I'm working with it for a long time now, and the dev is answering and trying to help if something comes up...

I've used Smooth Calendar for over a year because it's simple and looks good. I just recently switched to Jorte for something different and I like the layout of both the app and widget so far.

My favorite is colorize widget. It has an agenda widget just like sense and also has facebook and twitter widgets similar to the friends stream in sense. Best of all its free.

Jorte by far.. LOVE the look and teh fact it has just about every widget size you can imagine
Android Agenda Widget is a nice scrollable agenda widget. It has a mind-boggling array of settings and potential customizations to make it look just how you want.
Jorge gets my vote. Great Widgets and settings.
sent from my iBRANT.
working on jorte
i found jorte to be giving too many options to customize, which suits every screen
Do you have .apk file for Jorte?
edit: ok now ive got .apk file thanks you

Really nice, hadn't found about this one yet
I like Pure Grid Calendar Widget for a nice customisable calendar style widget. The only thing that would make it better is if you could switch between an agenda view and calendar, like the Launcher Pro Plus widget.
Oh yeah, and it costs €1.49
I like the stock widget, but it's too small and I'd really like something different until 3.1 comes out.
I need a Calendar widget that:
looks great on honeycomb
can be resized (or at least be large)
strong customization
Also, I don't mind paying for it. Does anyone have a recommendation?
I use Agenda Widget Plus and I love it! It's scrollable and has lots of customization potential, although it is tedious to customize.

Android Agenda Widget.. its free too
Pure calendar widget.
+1 for Android Adgenda Widget. Still seems a little small at it's max size, but I love it on my Evo, and certainly a step up from the stock one.
Small? Odd.. I'm using the 2x4 widget on my TF home screen and its plenty big enough
Jorte is a really nice Calender with various widgets.

I like Business Calendar
I switched from Smooth Calendar to Jorte to BUsiness Calendar and now stopped at Colorize Widgets. It shows both a monthly calendar and agenda type calendar. happy with it and its free.
