I use it all day everyday. Just pull it from an AOSP rom and push it over to your rom.... it is Browser.apk that you are looking for

Hello,
The title says it all.
I am using Kyrillos v10 BETA Cm7 and i want to deoxdex it so that i can install the ics and miui mods. I already know about this- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20703361&postcount=3705 but install that would remove what ever kyrillos has already installed (S2E, launcher pro etc) Is there any other way to do this??
Thanks
PS - I tried manually deleting system.odex file as one person said that manually deleting that only file can do the work. When i tried it, it did not show that statusbar/ notification bar.
I am not using CM7 so can't test myself but you could use this to deodex the framework, then you could apply themes.
of course you would need to deodex any apps you wish to theme also.
Does anyone know if if you can install the stock TW Browser in the new Eclipse v1.4 ROM instead of the AOSP Browser? Thanks...

Just push the stock browser.apk to /system/app and use root explore make sure the permission is correct, then reboot your phone. That's it.
I have tried this a few times with different versions and different permission settings and cannot get it to work.
I'm pretty sure there are framework edits needed to make the stock browser work on eclipse, and vice versa.
I installed a new rom from the forum, it has many stock applications deleted (almost all) I only need the following, how can I install them?
Facebook for sense (so when I input my new status it says posted via htc status or via sense on fb)
and HTC HUB (to install htc apps and widgets)
I HAVE HTC STATUS.
SORRY FOR BAD ENGLISH

Stock apps won't work on a custom ROM... There are some Facebook apps that allow you to adjust the name used in the FB api, but not sure what to use, and how to do it...

They will work if custom rom is based on a stock rom. You just need to push them into system/app and fix permissions or repack the zip of the custom rom with those apps placed in system/app folder.
I tried (and failed) to manually get the CM/AOSP Browser app to install on 11s via Root Explorer into system/app.
I don't want the version from the Playstore, if I can get the stock version included in the nightlies, because it has some errors in the menus etc. that are not in the CM Browser.
I don't use Chrome on mobile, and yes, I can use another browser, but I just like the PIE controls that the CM/AOSP browser has.
Anyone know how I can it to run on 11s?

If I understand you correctly, you would like the latest browser apk from the latest 11s nightly....
https://www.dropbox.com/s/tys4a4dy3w0yj3t/Browser.apk
Place this file into systems, app folder....change permissions to rw,r,r reboot the phone.
that's it.

Nope, AOSP is apart of the barebones ROM and not packaged in a gapps.
Put the file in /system/app and you're good to go. Root required.

Thats because you have to put it into /system/app and not install it as if it was any other application.

I placed it into system/app/ and rebooted and it does not appear. What do I do?
Did you grant the apk the correct permissions?

Hi guys - old thread but I have the same issue.
I am using Temasec's CM12.1 and also tried XenonHD rom and these only ship with the Google Keyboard, without symbols over letters. I am on 5.1.1 build.
I got the AOSP keyboard linked above, placed in system/app and repaired the permissions, but AOSP crashes every time I select it and as a result no keyboard shows up when I need to type something.
Anyone got any creative ideas on how to get full aosp kb functionality?
