Qik version question - Galaxy Tab Themes and Apps

I noticed there is a newer version of Qik in the Market(T-Mobile specific), but our tabs aren't seeing it as an update. The stock version on our tabs is 04.40 and the market version is 05.38.4.
Anyone updated yet? If so any issues or new features?
Post update: I installed it. It does install as an update even though it doesn't show up that way. Release notes only say "reliability improvements".

Weird on my Srint Tab stock version is same as your stock version 4.4.
In the market I see version 0.03.765.
I also see the HTC EVO version listed in the market at version 0.04.60.2
Im going to hold off installing the market version for now.
Thanks for the post.

You should sign up for a beta.

not sure about the OP, but i'm part of the beta.
I downloaded the OPs version from another site and it does crash.
however the stuff I get from the beta is 1.56something and it works well.
Still dont understand why the beta installer doesnt install the latest version.

Enjoy!
Hope someone could make a flashable zip file...
Stock ROM, rooted, bash, busybox, init.d support.
Updated system applications to the latest (apart from Facebook as I forgot )
http://www.multiupload.com/C81QMCS31N
Uses the same Kernel as 2.29.405.2 - can't really see any changes
The kernel is identical. The system image is not, but almost. A quick look shows some differences, e.g. HTCSetupWizard, Vending apps, various framework files.
Is it different from 2.29.405.2 or has worthwhile to update.
was wondering the same worth the update?
i have installed this update, some applications are updated like market version 1.82 to 2.09 and some more.
No other applications are updated.

Took me half a day to download this, if not even more, cause their servers were to busy for non premium users.
So I've uploaded it to multiupload.

I have 2.29.405.2 and Market Version 2.12
If thats the only change then the update is not worth flashing. You get a newer market version by ... just doing nothing.

I have 2.29.405.2 and I am running Android Market 2.2.7 (did nothing for it, came silently some days ago). And yes it's the new one with the new design.
I don't have the new market (with the new design) but still a newer version than in this update.
But there has to be something more. Why should HTC update their ROM just because of a new version of the market? They don't update when a new version of flash is available, or maps .... or anything else. You get the new versio anyway. Doesn't make sense to me.

It is a slightly revised version of the same build. Almost everything is *exactly* the same. This release may never be made officially available.

[Q] Cannot install/update new version of Google Maps & Gmail

I noticed that there are new version of google maps 5.7.0 & gmail 2.3.5.
I don't know why I cannot update them on my Xoom. My Xoom is on 3.2 Tiamat ROM.
Can somebody help me to update it ?
Thanks
You need to be root. Follow this post for Maps Update.

No root, 3.1 3g xoom
Gmail on the market isn't compatible with my xoom. What up with that?

My xoom has already got rooted . I've also already tried the method. The problem is I cannot find any googlemaps in the market.
The GMail on the market is for anything up to Android 2.3.4 only since your Xoom has Gmail 3.2 which is newer than 2.3.4, remember 3.2 is a higher version #, Honeycomb 3.1 comes with Gmail 3.1.

Is there anyway to find out the version of gmail in xoom? When I check in setting>about, there is no statement about the version.

Version code, not the user-oriented VersionName is used by the market to determine newer APK. They must be Max SDK filtering. Its actually listed as incompatible on honeycomb.

Manage Applications in Settings or Titanium Backup will show it. Honeycomb 3.1 comes with Gmail 3.1 and Honeycomb 3.2 comes with Gmail 3.2, both are 3.x while the market version is 2.x.
I have a completely stock US WIFI only Xoom and Maps updated to 5.8.0 automatically.
I have posted a couple methods for updating Maps in the Tiamat rom thread

Which Tiamat ROM are you using? Manta Ray states that not being able to update maps is a known issue that is being worked on. Looked under the "Release Notes" section on the first post here:

[Q] Anyone tried Adobe Flash version 11 yet ?

When I updated my DS to the previous flash version (10.3), the Adobe web site reported I was still on version 10.1 (despite re-install etc).
I'm wondering if anyone has tried the new version 11 recently released on Android Market. Does it make any improvements ?
Thanks,
Steve.
Judging by previous flash updates its normally just better memory management, and less battery eating.
I updated and have not encountered any bugs, dunno about memory though.
Yea mine seems to be fine as well after the update
Yes, mine seems to update fine too, but :
If I go to the flash player version check page:
http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
The version panel still reports version 10.1 like it always has!
I've tried clearing cache, disabling and re-enabling plug-ins, rebooting phone etc still to no avail.
Curious to know if anyone else gets this.

Update Killed Youtube, Need old version

The new 4.1 youtube update killed youtube for a lot of gingerbread users, as im still using a gingerbread rom and i updated not knowing it would break it. I have looked all over for an old version of the youtube but can not seem to find one that works and I do no remember the version for gingerbread! im currently using the GB Hellfire rom if anyone could please post a link to the apk or pull one from the rom that would be awesome! Thanks!
Currently running Youtube v4.1.23 on my GB ROM (Temasek 135.1 Final Build) and things are working just fine. Possibly un-install and reinstall the app?
I'm also running version 4.1.23 on rooted stock GB (2.3.4) without any issues
