CM7 2.3.4?

Hey all, kind of a noob question i guess but i am confused. i thought the version of CM7 i flashed was based on android 2.3.4 but to my surprise it was 2.3.3. kind of a big deal to me as i use the video calling feature.
i went here: download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=crespo and downloaded update-cm-7.0.3-NS-signed.zip thinking it was the latest and greatest.
does anyone know if there is a STABLE cm7 out that is based off of 2.3.4. this is for a regular nexus s running on rogers

edit: after browsing around it looks like 7.1 RC is the latest? i cant find if this is compatible with the nexus s. can someone please confirm so i dont brick my device

okay so i went for it and all is good, running on android 2.3.4 now. however, my google talk still doesnt allow me to video/voice call anyone?
anyone know whats going on?

[Q] Steam APk

Hi guys,
I have a SGS2 running ICS and i cant download Steam from the app market (cant post a link as i dont have enough posts, but its Steam as in Valve Corp for PC gaming etc).
Its saying my device isnt compatible?! Can someone post a download for the APK?
Would really appreciate it.

Well are you sure that the new Steam app is available for Android 4 ICS? there's a lot of apps not compatible with ICS yet, so maybe that's exactly why you can't install it.
The app is new as well and they're currently in a closed Beta fase, so it's normal that it may not work on ICS.

I didnt think of that. But then a lot of apps i cant download on the market because of this "incompatibility" issue i google the apk and manage to download them and they work fine.
Also this is the latest review left: "nextjonas on January 28, 2012 (Samsung Nexus S with version 1.0)

Have you tried uninstalling+reboot and reinstalling+reboot and then try to open the app?
I've just installed Steam from the market on my SGS2 with AndyX ICS ROM v3.1 and it opened smoothly and fast, i just can't log in because i don't have an account... so this means that it IS compatible with ICS. Maybe your ROM has some issues with that? is it stable with other apps?

Yeah all my other apps work fine. Il give AndyX ICS ROM v3.1 a try and see how it goes. Before i do tho is it stable?

Yes, AndyX's v3.1 is stable but of course has some issues like any other ICS. He's now working on the LP6 version (latest leaked official samsung stock rom), the one it's based in now is the LP2 but it works well.
I'm waiting for his LP6 version though, meanwhile i'm testing other roms but so far Andy's is the one i liked the most.

Installed on sandvolds ics for desire ok for me, doubt it is an ics issue.
Just need an invite now...

Just installed AndyX ICS ROM v3.1 and its brilliant!! thanks for recommending it to me, also managed to install all of the apps i previously couldn't!

Awesome! Yeah, AndyX rom is really good, he's almost done with the newest version with LP6, i can't wait

Sorry you should have read our next posts on the thread, it turned out to be compatible and be a ROM uncompatibility problem so i guess it's all good now to him.
Btw, AndyX v4.0 is out read the latest posts on the thread from Adesirello though because there's a little issue that will be fixed soon.

NEW SOLUTION FOUND - Restore ORIGINAL Verizon Visual VoiceMail

OK... First and foremost all credits, thanks, kudos and appreciation for this solution goes to Virus, this solution comes from their work.
This will restore the original Green icon VVM that many of us have been missing, and cannot find in newer roms.
(Screenshot at bottom)
The difference between this one and the newer version is that this one is integrated into the MMS/SMS layout which in my humble opinion is the best looking and most elegant solution. the last time i saw this working was in one of the earlier versions of
Eternity ROM mecha_signed_060812_063718
so i started there and extracted both the VVM and MMS apk, both are needed.
then i tried to simply install into the latest Eternity ROM without success... : (
On a whim i tried to install via a theme... and Voila success. : )
so here is the solution, i modded the theme zip for Eternity 1.0 so that it only replaces the MMS and VVM and this worked twice in testing.
So far as i know this should work in any rom with HTC Sense, ASOP will not support the mms.apk therefore it wont work on those roms, but i can only guarantee the rom i tested in...
this will replace your MMS.apk in Sense roms, but this shouldn't be an issue

instructions
remove your current VVM
(I recommend a rooted uninstall such as Titanium, Rom Toolbox, or whatever)
then boot into recovery
wipe dalvick
wipe cache
install update zip
reboot

I never knew there was any way to get vvm on any aosp rom. That's why I switched to gvvm. I would have kept vvm had I known.. Great work.

ok nevermind, i just loaded up MiniBAMF and the ASOP version did not work.
The MMS.apk needs sense to work, and therefore since that wont happen on an ASOP rom the VVM.apk didnt load.
i have removed the ASOP version.

Since I already have gvvm set up and you cannot delete your phone number once foolish enough to give it to them I won't be changing back to vvm. It is still a great accomplishment and I hope others can use it. Nice to see folks still putting this kind of work in the tbolt.

Wonder if this is gonna work on the liquid ics ? The version. I had on liquid 3.2 won't work.

that depends, i have a thunderbolt therefore i cant test ICS, but if ICS can run a gingerbread version of the mms.apk then yes. but i dont know enough about the mms.apk on ICS to speak intelligently on this...

I've got a version I was running on liquid 3.2 aosp that required a sso engine pushed to system /app and then the vm app installed to data/app ,its worked flawless for about 6 months. I can't rememberwhere I found it but it wasnt in the tbolt forums.if anybody needs em I can upload em

Hmm i installed it on latest Eternity ROM still no go it actually messed up my MMS.apk i just restored it. I can get old version of VVM working but not new one i tried uninstalling the old version and new one never shows up in app menu.

wait, i'm confused. you got the old version working... which is exactly what this thread is for... but you want the newer version ????
if you need the newer version then dont use this thread. Did you read my description at the begining????

OK. this is the new version, we already have this one floating around everywhere, even on google play market.

What's the difference other than the icon? And I wanna say mine wouldn't work straight out the market On liquid 3.2. That's why I searched fire this one. Its the same version but I guess they had to make some changes.

[Q] Which mod should I use?

Hello, I'm interested in modding my G2X but there seems to be so many choices that I'm unsure of which one to use. I want something that's completely stable, I can't really afford to have my phone break permanently or constantly crash. Also will the Google play store still work with these mods? Thanks for your help!

Hellfire phoenix 2.3.7 with the patched stock camera for cm7. I have recently switched to this and really like it! Plus there is a new update coming soon for the phoenix.

Alright thank you, I was leaning towards that anyways. Is there a specific guide out there that would show me exactly how to go from stock 2.3.4 to Hellfire Phoenix 2.3.7?

I would say go with eglesblood 2.3.7 along with the 3.0 kernel for gb. I say this because more more stock then hellfire and generally has less force closes

[Q] Rogers Infuse back to stock

I've upgraded my Rogers Infuse with CM10 Jellybean and have had many issues with it freezing and not letting me answer incoming calls, etc. and camera app jittering while recording video.
I was told that the android 2.3 is the most stable version for this phone. But when I have had issues getting stock ROM for Rogers Infuse. In this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1197248 the download links direct to lnx.lu and tries to get me to install iLividSetup.exe which is a virus. The links are basically dead.
I've tried installing other roms just to get back to stock with lots of problems but eventually got ZEUS rom installed. They say that its stable but this rom is either very buggy or I didnt install it properly. The built-in apps have are there but their icons have been erased and have been renamed to com.android. and when I try to launch any of them it says that the app is not installed on the phone. Im talking about necessary apps like play store, etc. So I cant use the phone like this.
I need help with getting my Rogers Infuse back to stock or a very stable install. Thanks in advance for any help I can get on this.

I would suggest odin back to stock or heimball one click explained in many threads in the dev section. I use Aeon rom wich works better then stock for me. But i dont think u will find the 2.3.3 rogers rom anywere . Pm me if u do i want it lol . U will have to go with an att 2.3.6 wich will still be considered stock rom and will work on rogers. I was using att rom with Bell canada
