[Q] Google.com calendar problem - XPERIA X10 Themes and Apps

in the settings of your calendar (at google.com) you can add "other calendars" to your google calendar.
it works fine for me with the holidays calendar.
but yesterday i choosed another "other calendar" with the dates and matches of my football-team.
at google.com i can see the footballdates now but not in my phone-calendar.
i synced nearly 100 times now but my phonecalendar hasnt got any new dates.
in the phone settings i only can choose my googlecalendar and the holidayscalendar to show (which i have set a few month ago).
any suggestions why?

I have got the same problem for a few months now. I use Jorte calendar, but when I go to google calendar and choose "other calendar" Jorte is not on the list, there is only google calendar to choose. Still not figured out why.

but the funny thing is that the holidays calendar is working fine.
i can choose and see it on my phone...

now i know whats the problem is...
the holidays-calendar is in the XML, ICAL and HTML format.
but that football-calendar is only in the HTML format.
to sync the dates to your phone that calendar must be in the XML or in the ICAL format. i dont know which of it...
thats what i think but dont know if its pretty right.
its the only difference that i was able to find about this calendars...

thats what i have found here... thx to Schnubbie

> The new sports calendars don't seem to be sync able. Is this right? Why?
Yes, that's correct. You cannot sync the sports calendars, because we don't allow any API operations to be performed on the sports calendars.
> Shouldn't they be readonly calendars though so we can at least download them?
In this case, no. We simply do not allow access to those calendars outside of the Google Calendar web interface.
THATS BAD ...

[Q] How do you switch primary calendars on WP7?

How do you change your primary calendar in WP7 so that it will show events in the Calendar tile? Right now it's using my Windows Live calendar which I don't use.

What calendearing system are you using?
I've got my Live and my Exchange (email, contacts, calendar) accounts both syncing to the phone and the Calendar tile shows me my next appointment - regardless which calendar it's on. If I click the tile, it shows me my agenda with both calendars combined (different colors to show which one an appt came from).
I'd like for the Google apps for domains account via Exchange to be my main calendar. Currently it's using my Windows Live account as the main calendar but I don't use that one.
I think I turned my live calendar off on the phone.
It then defaulted to the exchange one.
yeah, I don't see a way to do that since it's the account I initialized the phone with when I first set it up.
unless you are talking about from with the calendar app. I did the same thing. However, it did not default to the next calendar on the list which is my exchange one. I still get nothing showing up in my home page calendar. I can see everything in my agenda once I click on the tile though. But I want that day's events to show up in the tile.
The calendar system will display all of your appointments from all your calendars at once, using different colors to represent different accounts. It will only show the most recent appointment on the start page tile (If there is a conflict, an idicator is shown on the tile with the first appointment in an alphabetical list showing its 'info' on the tile). It will default to the most recently used calendar when you add appointments, although you can change this using the 'Account' listbox while creating the appointment.
Well, it wasn't working until I added a new event through my phone in the calendar I wanted to be the primary. Once I did that, all my appoints started show up on the lock screen and Calendar tile. Works like a charm now!!
my WP7 shows entries only from PRIMARY calender. is this normal?

Unfortunately yes, for now.
No, it should show entries from any calendar that you have synced.

but it can only sync 1 calendar per email account, correct?
I think so.
So far, while trying to sync my gmail/google calendar, it only syncs primary calendar. It wont sync other calendars
Was trying to get it to see my "orlando magic team schedule" and "us holidays" but wont
again... wp7 is missing still a lot.

Phone not syncing calendar appointments

Hey,
I have a whole range of appointments on my Hotmail account, but they don't show on my phone.
I have added the email account to the phone and when I go to calendar -> ... -> calendars
I see my hoymail account is there in magenta.
If I go to the hotmai tile and prss the sync ico I receive my emails but no appointments.
I've checked the calendar in the settings.
Am I missing something?
Edit: appareantly it only syncs the main calendar, not the calendars you add manually.
ARRAY[0] always wins.
yea, at present only the default calendar syncs. hopefully MS implements multiple calendars for the update...
I have 4 calendars that sync to my phone.. all work perfectly fine... 1 gmail calendar my personal windows live calendar, my wifes personal windows live calendar and then our business windows live calendar.
Each Calendar does have its own email account. If you haven't done so already go to settings... email & accounts then select the account in question... make sure that you have the "calendar" box checked... If my business one has 3 boxes I can check for content to sync. Email, Contacts and Calendar.
I tinkered with this for a while to get it working. We actually had ONE family account that had 2 separate calendars linked in that account. When in outlook I could see the two calendars and when I would make changes it would update the windows live calendar online BUT it wouldn't push the second calendar to my phone just the main one associated with the account. As such I just left that one as my wifes personal calendar and I made myself another one that can sync to both of our phones (we both have the Focus)
Once all the accounts were configured we now are able to make changes to the calendars on the phone or computer (either right in windows live or in outlook) and everything all syncs nicely now.
side note... in the same settings place you can select how often your content syncs.. I have mine set to 30 minutes BUT if I want to sync the calendar after making a change I go back to settings and accounts select but hold your finger on whatever account you want to sync and an option comes up to sync or delete account.. select sync and it will do its thing.
Additional Side note: As both my wife and I have the focus (I got her away from the Iphone) we both use our main family email address as the main account on the phone... what I discovered after doing a hard reset a few days ago was that when I rebooted the phone it installed ALL the apps she had purchased up to that date. I myself haven't purchased any and was a little confused while all these random aps were on my phone. Perhaps a glitch in their design but works for me!!!
Hi Aaron,
Seek your advice:
My appointments are all in Microsoft Outlook Calendar. Currently I would save the calendar in a temporary folder in my laptop, and then upload the file to my Window Live using the same laptop, then syn my phone to the Window Live on 3G network. I wonder if there is any easier way to syn my calendar.
Thanks.
much easier way.. just add your windows live account to outlook..
In Outlook it's usually *file ---> add account
Once you have added your windows live account you'll see it under your calendar tab.
When you open your calendar in outlook you can have it so both your outlook and windows live calendar are open side by side. Just simply highlight the appointments you want synced and you're good to go. Once thats done any changes you make on the windows live calendar IN outlook will sync to your windows live online account... and your phone.
Hope this helps
Hi Aaron,
Thanks a lot. Will try this out right away!

[Q] Sync'ing Google Calendar FROM Phone TO Web

Ok, I've searched for this and the few solutions that I have found do not make any difference for me, so either, something fundamental has changed at Google, or I have set something else wrong.
The Problem;
I have one Google Calendar and one Windows Live Calendar set up on my Windows Phone. (HTC 7 Pro).
Until 2 weeks ago (approximately) every thing sync'd correctly both ways.
Now, events entered as Google Calendar Items on the Phone do not sync with the Online Calendar. Events entered on the Online Calendar sync as expected.
I have tried changing the "Automatically add invitations to my calendar:" setting to "yes" or "yes, but dont send event reminders....." as suggested in other threads, but this does not have any effect. i am aware that this fix will not work on events created before the setting change. It does not work with events created before or after the Setting was changed.
The Windows Live Calendar syncs properly both ways. There is no issue with this, but could it's presence be affecting how the Google Calendar behaves?
Any further advise would be appreciated.
Have you considered that it can have something to do with summer/vinter time. check that you phone and gmail account have the same time zone and both are updated to summer time.

I've had the same issue on my Samsung Focus since I pretty much bought the thing. I gave up and finally just moved to the live calendar. I guess I could try again now that I have Nodo to see if that fixed it.
There's nothing for NoDo to "fix" on your phone. I've been using Google Calendar on my Focus since day 1, and it has always worked (both pre- and post-Nodo) once I got it properly configured (using the "Automatically add invitations to my calendar" setting). I just tested it to make sure.
I wonder if your Google account on your phone has become corrupted somehow. Have you tried deleting the account from the phone and recreating it?
But, I am puzzled that you say that the events were syncing correctly before. If you didn't have the "Automatically add invitations to my calendar" setting enabled, I don't see how that could have worked. WP7-created events are only sent as invitations to Google, and without that setting, they can't show up in your calendar.
Thanks for responses.
I'm fairly certain that this is not a DST issue. I have checked clocks and all seems correct.
Apologies for confusion, robodad.
I switched the "automatically add invitations..." setting to NO about the time it stopped working, but didn't notice until the last couple of days that it had, stopped working.
On noticing, I researched and discovered how this setting should be set to YES due to the way that Google handles new events from WP7.
Now that this is switched back to YES it is still not sync'ing.
A response to the same question on Google's forums has suggested that the ICS is broken. I do not know what this means but it appears that this is at Google's end.
Hello,
I've exactly the same problem with my Trophy 7.
i had the setting on " yes, but don't send.." , the appointments came into google calendar with a question mark.
All of a sodden it stopped working, so i changed the setting to "yes", but it doesn't make a difference.
The strange thing is that it does work both ways on my iphone, so there is no problem (i think) from googles side as you suggested.
This is very frustrating because i use google calendar as my main calendar, i hope someone has an other solution.
Thanks for any help.
Monique
Update
Well, from the Google Forums where this has been posted (OPs:-Am I allowed to link to that from here?), Google have now taken some sort of ownership of this and are apparently looking into it.
They have contacted (seemingly) everyone that has posted on their Forum for details as to the problem.
Maybe something sorted out soon.
Latest from Google
This posted on the Google Help Forum as a work around.
Hi everyone,
Thanks for keeping us updated here with what's worked for you and what hasn't. Andrew has been working with me off-thread and has been super helpful, and we think we might have a workaround for now. Do you guys mind trying this out and letting me know if it works for you?
1) Delete the "Google" account on your device
2) Add an "Outlook" account
3) Be sure the email address is correct the first time it asks you
4) Device will say "Check your information and try again" and give a more
detailed form
5) Be sure that both email address and username are correct in this form
(domain can be blank or a dummy value like "goog")
6) Device will give "We couldn't find your settings", choose "Advanced"
7) This time device will give a field for server, enter "m.google.com"
8) Now it should sync.
9) Configure the account as desired and you should be able to add a
calendar event successfully
10) Keep using this account or, optionally, delete this account and add a
"Google" account (either way is the same)
Cheers,
Alice
This appears to have had limited success. Certainly hasn't worked for me. But does appear to have worked for at least one other contributer there. If intermittently

Can you please tell me how did you sync your phone calander with windows live account? I can not do it.
Latest from Google Forums
This from Andrew who seems to be doing a lot of work on this.
"I've spent quite an enjoyable an hour on the phone with a mobile-software chap from Google, who has access to sync logs. What's happening in my case is that although I set up the sync with my gmail address, the phone is sending events with my live.com address as "Organizer", and those events are being rejected. This happened again when I connected with a test Google calendar account as well -- my phone used my live.com address.
Steve then tried to sync his phone with a test Google calendar account, and events created on the phone were synced correctly. He then tried his phone with *my* Google calendar -- that is, set up my gmail account on his phone -- and the event was created with his live.com address (and consequently was rejected).
So: the issue can be reproduced using my Google calendar account and any phone, or my phone and any calendar. But no phone should be leaking live.com addresses to Google.
Investigation continues. I'm now going to look for a way of reporting the problem to Microsoft..."
I fear that this may be bringing the issue back full circle to NoDo. We shall see.

erfansaberi,
So far as I am aware, i never had to do anything other than set up the account, to sync my Live Calendar across from Phone to Desktop to Cloud.
I use Outlook Connector with Outlook 2007. This syncs the Desktop.
To be honest i don't use web apps at all (other than Google where i have no choice at present) as I am invariably on a Mobile Data connection and at least Outlook only transfers the relevant data, and not all the gubbings required to render a web page, in a browser.
I also have this google thing problem... It is quite annoying.
Did anyone here try to delete the account and create an outlook account trick? Does it work? I guess it also removes the contact list, doesn't it?
Work around?
Not sure if someone has come up with a good work around yet, but this is annoying as heck! I actually lost some calendar events after creating events on the phone and syncing to google calendar. Darn you google!
Anyways, after playing around a bit, I think I've got something that works (for me anyways). I created a contact with my own google email address that I use with Google cal in it (it happens to not be an @gmail.com address). So this is pretty much my own contact card with my google cal email address. Now every single calendar event that I create, I have to go to "more details" and "add someone". I add myself under "required" and making sure to select the google cal email. Strangely, after syncing with google cal (manually or just wait a bit) it will show up in google cal.
The setback is that you'll get an email notification in gmail and all the events will have a little "?" next to it in google cal since you're supposed to confirm you're going or not to that event. But at least now we can backup our events to the cloud instead of losing every god dang thing if our phone goes to the crapper.
SOLVED (well sort of)

I have been having this issue for the last month and have found something that works for me:
On your Windows Phone do the following:
1. Open Settings
2. click email & accounts
3. click your google account
4. Under Content to synchronise make sure that Email is ticked (this was not ticked orginally for me).
5. Add a new event to you calandar
6. go back into Settings -> email & accounts and click and hold you Google account until the menu appears and select synchronise
7. you should now see your newley created calandar event in your google calandar web
]
This seems to work for me, I do not have to re-sync from the settings>email area either as it happens automatically.

Calendar Sync

So I am a bit confused about Calendar syncing in WP7, and I keep getting different answers.
I am strongly thinking about getting a WP7 phone.
However the most important feature to me is my calendar. I use my calendar for my personal, and business use and rely on it heavily.
My calendar at home syncs with my google calendar, and my calendar at work syncs with my google calendar, which right now syncs with my phone. Basically any change I make on my calendar on any of my devices changes them over all of my calendars.
I also have my calendar syncing with my family's google calendar, and my wifes family's google calendar.
If your in google calendar and you see "My Calendar" all of my sections are broken down (work, home, church, etc). They are all in my calendar. Nothing is is "Other Calendar"
Will i be able to see and sync all of those events and change them etc from a WP7 phone?
I know only your Primary calendar syncs, but is that everything listed under my calendar, or is it just "work" for example?
Thank you
Regardless of how many calendars you have in Google Calendar, you only have 1 primary calendar. This is usually the one named 'Calendar'. Only this one calendar can sync to your Windows Phone due to Google actively blocking Windows Phone 7 devices.
Each one of those entries under My Calendar is a separate calendar, Google just shows them in a single Calendar view for your convenience. You still only have 1 primary calendar, and that's the only one that will sync at the moment.
Once Mango comes out, there is a trick you can do to activate multiple calendars to be sync'd to your device.
So it looks like i need to wait for mango to be released before I do anything about getting a WP7 phone. Thank you for the information.

Calendar Problems

I am having problems syncing all my calendars. I sync two google accounts with multiple calendars in each (my calendars). The problems is, that the second google account does not show all the calendars on the phone in calendar.
Also, I use Agenda Widget that I use as a calendar replacement. Under its options, it actually lists the missing calendars, but even if i check them, they do not show up.
So I deleted a bunch of my calendars that I use less, hoping that maybe it was something like it only allows a certain number of calendars. The second account will only sync the main calendar, not the other calendars i have under "my calendars"
I just upgraded from a myt3g running yoshi, and I did not have this problem with either the calendar or the agenda widget app.
tldr; my phone only syncs my primary calendar and nothing else from "my calendars"
