'kay i bought a new phone without realising it had not got the android market for downloading apps.
How do i put apps on my phone using an SD card. I cannot put astro file manager to install apps because i have no market.. So how do install the .apk files using a PC and SD card?
,thanks
i dont know how you dont have market, but if you have an internet connection on your phone root it and throw some custom roms on there.
else, look up a tutorial on setting up adb and then do
adb install file.apk
how can you buy an android phone without the market :S
visit theunlockr.com for a tutorial and root your phone. transfer any .apk to your sd card and then just 'open' them. Job done
Hi all, Please someone help me to transfer apps to SD on my Milestone XT720. I tried App2Card> But didn't work...
Is your device rooted? If not the first to do it root it, you can learn how to easly do it in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=887416
When, after root there are a lot of ways to send Apps to SD, I'm using the Link2SD and recomend it, to learn how to do it you just need to follow the steps in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=923628
Just some tips:
1: Don't forget to partion your SD card first
2: If you're using XTHoneycomb custom ROM from Kahlpower you don't need to put the ext2.ko files as explained in the thread, it's already there, dunno about others ROMs.
Good Luck
Hi, thanks for your reply.. My XT720 is rooted. I followed as you explained.. After making partition and installing Link2SD I rebooted phone. Phone got struck at Boot logo. I got same problem with App2card.
My XT720 is running on Stock firmware (South East Asia)
i found a post where they using fastboot for evo 4g to fix sd card problem they had same problem when rooting where sd card wudnt mount after root wandering if this might work too for us.

Hello!
I'm new to XDA Developers but I have some knowledge about what's happening in here.
I have this device (Lenovo A526) which I bought just last month, it has 4 GB internal memory but half of it is used in system apps and files.
After a month (now) I used up all my free space so I decided to buy a 16 GB SD Card so I could download more apps and store more files.
I was about to move my apps to my SD Card but I could not find the "Move to SD" option. Well, this option used to be there in my previous
devices. What happened? I remembered that I had this app called Android Assistant and one of its features is to move apps to SD Card. I
downloaded it and tried to move apps to SD Card but it would just redirect me to Settings>Apps>Certain App where I could not find the
"Move to SD" option. I tried several apps but none worked, they all do the same. I have searched Google for solutions and I found two more
options; using Android SDK, and rooting. I tried using the SDK first. It did not go as it is expected, my device could not be detected. I tried
rooting my device but I could not find anything that is exactly for my device.
I am willing to root my device. I tried using update.zip, framaroot and some computer programs but none worked. I found ways to root some
devices like Samsung, LG, Sony, etc. But none for Lenovo A526. My device is running Android 4.2.2 Jelly bean. I need help. If there is anything
people here could suggest, it would be well appreciated.
*for those who don't wanna read, I'm looking for a way to root my Lenovo A526. Or if you have any suggestions, I would just want to move my apps to my SD Card or maybe even swap it. Device is running Android 4.2.2 Jelly bean
For those who are willing to help and looking for more information about my device, please feel free to ask.
Thank you!

Hi,
if you can flash zip via recovery or fastboot, download supersu zip file here: http://download.chainfire.eu/589/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.16.zip
Then go into recovery, install zip and choose the zip file in sd card.
Then you can enjoy root ^^
Hope this helps you!

I hope this works. I've tried installing other zips via recovery before, but no luck. It would always give me "Installation aborted!"
Thanks though!
