At last, the spare battery/charger/stand - Fascinate Accessories

Just came in the mail. Samsung sure took long enough getting these into stock -- I'd pre-ordered two months ago.
However, carrying a spare battery around should make charging issues irrelevant... (Angry Birds for everyone!) Too bad the stand doesn't fit well with my TPU case on the phone.

how much did u wind up paying. i got mine from a vzw store a while back and it was 39.99, i paid less do to my military discount. but if u found it alot cheaper, then i would really like to get my wife one as well,, mine also came with a splitter so i can charge the spare battery and my phone at the same time
Swyped from a black hole in a galaxy far far away, using the XDA app.

Can we get some pics?

If you and I have the same thing, I got mine free from Verizon. I called and was talking to the V tech and I was telling her that with hard use playing games like RoboDefense, watching Youtube or streaming Vcast, I can kill the phone in under 4 hours. So after an hour of working on the real reason I called for (my daughters ENVY3) and talking during pauses about the fascinate.... the nice lady offered to send me a spare battery and a stand alone battery charger as well. I thanked the heck out of her and 2 days later I got the battery and I got the flat black rectangle shaped charger and a "Y" splitter cable for the micro USB. You place the spare battery inside the rectangle charger andyou can set the phone in a sort of lot on the end of the rectangle.
I was very happy!

That's the one. Totally worth having it for me, even if I did have to pay. In my job, sometimes I won't be able yo connect my phone to power for up to 16 hrs
so fresh and so superclean.

+1 for the charger stand and extra battery. I always carry a spare battery when I travel and the stand/charger makes a nice dock in the hotel room or on the plane.
I didn't realize it doubled as a stand when I bought it, I was really just looking for a spare battery and charger but for once Samsung gave me more than I bargained for.

Sidekick 4g started smoldering/smoking/fizzing

When I bought this sucker i managed to crack the digitizer in my pocket on day one. Tmobile wouldn't accept it so i just kept on using it. well i noticed my phone felt extremely hot in my pocket the other day.. and smoke was coming out the usb port. Of course because of the "physical damage" to the screen mobile wont' exchange it and in order to get a new one with insurance i'd have to spend more than I did on the phone in the first place. More money than I can spend with out falling short on rent. This is where you come in. If any of you have a broken SK4g say with a shattered screen/ cracked hinge, basically any sort of physical damage that doesn't effect the motherboard inside and you'd be willing to part with it for cheap. Please, PLEASE let me know.
An update. It killed the charge circuit and i'm getting by using an old sidekick lx and alligator clips to charge the battery... Its not pretty but its working! I'm sure this is hell on the battery.
you could buy a battery charger from ebay, then just swap batterys from the charger.
I've had my sidekick get hot at random one day an quickly removed the battery seams that it does it once an a while not sure why since my last phone a samsung memior also got rather hot aswell when gps was on.
I think Mine may have been close to doing that. I left it on the charger overnight. Woke up in the middle of the night several hours later and it was nearly burning hot! It usually charges completely in about 2 or so hours, but had only charged about 40% or less at the time.
It also slid under a blanket as a slept. That may have been a factor. I have noticed it gets a little warmer while on clothe as it charges.
still got this thing charging. It just sucks having zero use of the usb port any more. Once again please let me know if you've got any broken sidekicks i could use to Frankenstein.
You can get a used SK4g in good condition for about $150 (on the low end) off of eBay. That is really not a bad price.
Have any of you calibrated the battery when it is fully charged? This might be the issue?

i'm sorry but $1 is a too much to spend on a phone when the one you pay insurance on dies in under a month. Its a matter of principal and not money. Money I have, patience for criminals I do not. Long story short I bought a brand new sk4g out of contract through tmobile. its screen went completely wonky. Woudn't replace it because of a whitish pink hue on the the sticker despite never coming near water, spills, or even a steamy bathroom. Swapped out my old sk4g screen and the problem persisted leaving me with another ****ed motherboard. I was gonna go out and buy another phone before I came to my senses and decided to spend the money canceling my contract with tmobile. Don't buy this phone who ever you are. Don't buy it used. Don't buy it new, don't even take it for free, and most especially don't pay for insurance because its a ****ing scam.
This is a horrible phone, Gave it to my daughter to use as a game/MP3 thing,...and haha. Barely does that. It gets SOOO HOT Doesn't help that the ONLY good dev. we had for this left a long time ago (AyoTeddy) and the other ones we had we lil children. Looking at RAD

[Q] how you will fight against not removable battery?

well i like it this phone htc one x its pretty nice for me i want it, perhaps the only thing start bother me its battery, i had an evo 3d and i usually have extra batteries, and works well, perhaps im not sure how you will beat this?
im thinking the extra chargers that works as usb battery but not sure wich one are the best and cheap xD
for example like this:
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/portable-12000mah-rechargeable-power-battery-pack-white-119917
what do you think?
I wouldn't buy anything like that from dealextreme. There are plenty of portable chargers out there such as the powermonkey:
powermonkey
or some solar versions:
powermonkey explorer
Powermonkey Explorer
Monaco
Monaco Solar Charger
or if you are looking for more power for a really long time away from outlets:
New Trent - Ranges from 5000mAh to 11,000mAh
New Trents on amazon
Although it is very disappointing not to be able to just carry another fully charged battery that you can just change. I have been using an extra battery and desk charger since the early 2000's and now technology is leading towards phones without this feature and without removable SD cards. It seems like a step backwards. I managed to go on after the change from hardware keyboard to touchscreen as there was a benefit, but there just isn't enough reason to take away these features.
We all know where this whole idea of not allowing SD cards or removable batteries came from. Everyone is trying to be the iPhone. Next Google will force you to install Gtunes before you can use your phone.

looks well, perhaps i will check this brand on ebay, since amazon charge me a lot for delivery to my country :S
Not SD its not big deal for me but battery? that suck and if htc will make not removable they should be at least like razr maxx in battery mah
thanks a lot, and why you dont like DX?
The stuff from dealextreme is great if your are looking for cheap stuff that you don't mind if it breaks in a month. Also you may be waiting a loooooong time for shipping. For the cheap stuff it's great, but you DO NOT want to charge your phone with some cheap electronics from Hong Kong. It will mess up your battery and then you will really have a problem with keeping a charge. Don't want to have send in your expensive One X for repair because of a fried battery. Seen way to many phones ruined by cheap chargers. Spend the money on a good one.
I went back and fixed the links, but if you need to buy from somewhere else, that's fine. Powermonkey are sold in other countries and have adapters for different plugs if you travel. Then again I guess you could find an adapter for any of them.

i wil check it thanks a lot
Non-removable battery does have a very good reason, because if battery is removable, they must make the battery strong enough to be able to take some potential stress from being dropped, etc. Non-removable batteries can have thinner walls because the phone casing will protect the battery, and since it will not have to be removed very often it is possible to have the battery have more surface area on the phone to occupy.
We need cases like these. my friend gets about 2 days heavy use on his iPhone 4 with it. Unfortunately I've only seen cases with batteries for iPhones.

No kidding. I am so envious of him. That case also allows him to charge using a regular micro USB cable. I'm surprised at the lack of cases for most Android phones.

Having a charger in my coat pocket.
I really don't think it will be an issue to make it through a full day.
Have a feeling that portable chargers are going to get a lot more popular as the non-removable battery becomes more standard.
Have the New Trent 11,000 mAh model which can keep me going for a week away from a power outlet. I'm not usually far from an outlet as I have the home charger, car charger, and usb port from my computer at work, but always easy to carry around my portable charger as it isn't very big and fits in my pocket. The other ones are even smaller.
Not too fond of the idea of having to use a case that makes my thin sexy phone into a hulk for just a little more juice.

I hate the fact you can't remove the battery for a lot of reasons, one big one is I aways carried an extra battery because I did not buy a powerful phone to tweak it so it can't use all the power it came with.
They really need to put bigger batteries inside phones like motorola did , or make the back of phone from solar cells so it could recharge at daylight when flipped over

buyers beware **fake Samsung charger system**

sorry if this has been posted already. Ive always had an extra battery to with me with each of my past phones (og EVO, Epic Touch, Galaxy S3) my EVO lte was an obvious exception. I just hate being tethered to a charger, well I searched and found a nice Samsung charger and extra 2600mah battery system on Amazon, never had a problem with Amazon ever. I order the charger, receive it the next day, when I checked it (my wife had opened it and charged the battery for me by the time I got home from work so I didnt bother looking at the packaging) I get to checking it out and it just kinda felt cheaply made, I shrugged it off. fast forward to the next day, the time comes that I need the extra battery, I pop it in and boot the phone up..........it shows only 94% and it drained pretty quickly (this kinda went with what I initially thought) I then said "eh prolly because its a new battery) next day same thing, I start researching and find info on fake Samsung batteries, the battery had no sign of the moisture indicator was the first clue, second was it said "made in China, assembled in Corea" went home and inspected the packaging, no signs of the hologram Samsung logo anywhere looked at the charger a bit more, while its a great knock off, it just feels cheap and well fake, had it not been for the battery not taking a full charge, I would have thought nothing of it, of course Im sure NFC would not have worked either, but I rarely ever use it. I went ahead and orderd a real charging system from Samsung and sadly it didnt cost much more than the knock off

I bought the same thing from Amazon.
The OEM battery from Samsung is indeed the b600bu.
Comparing the original VZW one with the VZW tag on it. I don't see much of a difference but the moisture indicator as you said doesn't have the red x's as on the VZW but there is a sticker on there and not sure what happens to this sticker if it gets wet.
I haven't noticed a problem with the battery life personally on the OEM + battery charger one.
Mine OEM replacement only says made in Korea, nothing about china.
The Original VZW says Manufactured by Yongbo, cell from japan, manufactured in china.
I don't remember looking for the hologram sticker when I opened the package. Guess I should have checked. LOL.
The battery charging system is white with grey lettering.
Being that I have the 7500 lemon, 2 of these 2600 mah, and one 5200, I get good use out of the charger and swap out whenever and however I tend to need things.
I bet this wasn't sold and shipped by Amazon.
that would be the first thing I look at. I know there many counterfeits from china.
I would not trust buying any battery no matter how cheap (unless I was expecting a fake) not sold and shipped by amazon or Samsung.
just too many fakes out there.
the charging system is super cheap with the coupon for registering your s4 anyhow, I would not get it anywhere else.

Mine was from Amazon LLC. It's partially why I didn't bother looking for holograms when I opened it.

was the item bought direct from amazon or the amazon market where people can list their items.
from you description, it's still hard to confirm it's fake.
many samsung batteries are shipped without the moisture indicator sticker and hologram, and their batteries are now made in many countries and assembled in many countries, which includes china.
try going through a few more charges and see what happens, or just return it for a refund.
FYI, I bought a genuine Samsung 2600mah battery from Phones4U (£25 - free with a coupon I had).
Whenever I charge this or the battery that came with my phone using an external Anker battery charger (Previously bought for 1600mah/1900mah S2 batteries) it will only charge it to 94%.
It's probably a problem with the external charger and not the battery?
nah guys almost 100% certain its a fake, the battery that was included only charges to 94% and discharges fast, the oem battery that came with my phone charged to 100% twice in the questionable charger. This was an item sold by one seller and fulfilled by Amazon (what ever this means) the seller I bought it from (yes I know I should have checked feedback before buying it but when I saw fulfilled by Amazon, I let my guard down) had several complaints of the same thing thing Im most offended by is the fact that it cost $40, I could have just ordered this from Samsung for $50 (which I ended up doing Sunday btw)
You rally have to be careful with those Corean devices. The Corean people just don't have the same work ethic and quality control standards as the Koreans who build the actual Samsung products.
Hahahah!
That's the great thing about Chinese knockoffs. They always get one little detail wrong like that to make it obvious its a fake. Like the fake iPhone will have the apple logo with the bite out of the wrong side. Or the HTC knockoff will have HTC's logo spelled with capital letters instead of lower case. But getting Korea wrong....I mean its like walking distance from China. How do you screw that up?
Anyway Amazon will refund you since it was fulfilled by Amazon. They won't even give you a hard time about it.

Ok, just received the charger and battery I ordered direct from Samsung (cost $10 more than the fake one) and let me tell you, big difference in the weight of the charger itself, the battery is also a bit heavier, the LED doesnt constantly stay lit (the fake chargers LED stayed lit with battery in it or not, the Samsung part does not) and the packaging is all together different, and the Samsung one included a wall plug in micro usb cord :good:

Mophie Juice Pack 2300Mah

Hello people,
Just thought i would give you guys some feedback after using my Mophie juice pack for 2 days. I do not see any threads for this power case:
First off - The quality build of this case is great. It feels good in the hands and it actually makes my s4 rest in my palm now and makes for an easier writing experience. The battery itself i wouldn't say is 80% or maybe it needs a few more cycles but after two recharge cycles i can easily recharge my phone from 50% up to 100% within 1.5hours. It charges fast - much faster than a usb2.0.
Definitely adds some juice to last me through a work day but not enough for a gaming day.
Not sure what else to write, if you want to know anything about the case, ask away :good:
thanks for your review.. I was looking at the mophie too but went and ordered the Dyconn X4. Very attractive case with very little bulk and adds 3200Mah to your existing battery. You might want to look into it if you want something that last a little longer
Ok, so after using this juice pack for almost a month here are some feedback:
1. Volume button is a little bit on the hard side
2. It makes a weird rubber noise on the left side
3. It only powers your phone back by 50%
4. My phone fell once it was protected but the upper hatch came off - not good if you ask
5. While juicing, the phone heats up if in use.
I called Mophie about the rubberized noise and they asked me for my mailing address, receipts and proof (video). Two weeks after, nothing. I emailed them and they re opened a case and asked me the same questions all over again with my mailing address. It has been 8 days now. Next week, if nothing i am giving up on them.
For $120 - TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT. Should have just bought a juice pack from Amazon for $20 at 3200mah and might have got a little more juice.
Saved me some money thanks!!
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
It has been another two weeks and still nothing. I emailed them and nothing.
The service is horrendous - one would think that at $120 a piece, they would include some service price in there. It seems the smaller companies like zero lemon and the others give a much better service and response.
I give up on these mophie retards - - - -

[Q] NOOT 2800 mAh Battery

Hello everyone this is my review on the extra battery or replacement battery for you Samsung Galaxy S5. Thus battery is made by NOOT products and is available for 10 bucks on Amazon. Also free 2 day shipping is your a amazon prime member. Ok enough of plugging amazon on ti the real deal how did it work because we have all seen that great deal for 3 batteries and a charger for our phone for 15 bucks. The problem is they barely workif tthey work at all. Nm
Now there are they new fancy named companies witha ssimilar deal but someiof them even suck. Have no fear I already did the testing here NOOT products (Atleast there batterie, have nnot tried anything else yet) are the real deal. I have 3 Galaxy S5's in my house and we all have at least 2 back up batteries and we all use NOOT because they work as good as the OEM ones. I'm not just saying it to plug NOOT I could care less just your friendly XDA product reviewer (Just starting on here but have been for a while). I love my gadgets for my phones so I buy everything I think is cool for my phone or tablet. So I figure I can spend a few minutes and tell my XDA family member about my latest add on to my phone gadgets. I will tell it like it is good or bad. I will be posting several other on stuff I have already been using so is you been thinking about buy a glass screen protector or a wireless charging Back or card wait a day and read my next reviews.
Thanks

I got them when they were on sale for $5 dollar with a promo code a while back. They work really well, I say about 80 to 90% of the oem time capacity, which was good for the price.
However on a hot afternoon, i left a battery inside my car ... the battery expanded (got fat) and won't fit in the phone anymore.

This. Apparently I have the most helpful favorable review on amazon for it right now, and while I liked the battery when it still worked, I need to edit my review on there as my battery has also gotten fat. It's weird though because I didn't leave it in my car or anything. Battery worked fine for about a month and a half and then all of a sudden it started dying really quick once it reach 30-40%. After several days the battery life started getting shorter and shorter until it didn't even last me 2 hours. Pulled off the back cover and I realized it was getting fatter. I also got it when it was just $5, so I shouldn't really complain, but I contacted the company twice about a replacement (since the product comes with a warranty). They haven't gotten back to me yet and it has been over a month since. Kinda frustrating that their customer service is so lame. Other than that I thought the battery was a good replacement for the price. I've since ordered backups from Caseology on amazon and they seem to work just as well as the Noot one when i first got it.
