Bluetooth not working
Hi Yamen,
Thanx for your guide on froyo for spica! But unfortunately I came to know abou this firmware only after screwing my spica i5700 with one of the kitchen cooked firmware by Lekshas on samdroid forum.
Everything else is working fine apart from the bluetooth which dose not get started even after much of tapping and restarting it still is not working.
My question is if I follow this particular kitchen cooked firware will it get the bluetooth functionality back ?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
esameer

1 - Reboot in download mode (Power + camera + Volume Down)
2 - Apply File (i5700_LK2-08_PDA.tar) with ODIN (attached too)
3 - After auto booting shutdown your Phone.
4 - Boot in recovery mode (Power + Volume Down + Hang UP (Green))
i suggest then to apply "LK2.10.beta3_update.zip" by (apply any zip from sd card.
then you'll have an updated recovery menu that let you convert your file system to EXT2/4 instead of RFS.
Then u can upgrade well to Froyo.
Good Luck.

thank you very much. I'll try and let you know.
Tahnks!

Must I root the phone to install this mod?
Also how long should it stay in "downloading....." mode without any progress?

with lk 3.01 u can convert your phone file system from RFS to EXT2 for system and cache and EXT4 for data, then u have booted your phone to use well the froyo mod.
furthermore u can optimize free space using app2sd from samdroid tool menu and rebooting.
this feature let u retreive your apps while upgrading to froyo.

To be completely offtopic, what do you need to tether Desire? So far everything I tried doesn't work without tampering with settings on computer and phone....
ahmgsk - good job and hope to have fully working 2.2 rom soon!
is it possible to have polish langaue within the rom? it was within the cm506 rom. also i am getting strange issues with exchange security on 2.2 - it was working on eighter n1 or cm506 desire rom, now its a problem that "phone has no security policy"
thanks!
AhmgskMod, why would we flash you ROM curently.
Richard's ROM has A2SD,and your dont. And as i can see the rest is the same as yours. Did you fix, or improve something that hes missing in his ROM?
Anways thanks for your efforts, and cant wait for Camera fix.
Recovery
Thanks for this. Could you please write a simple how to for getting your modded recovery onto the device? Is it just a small simple flash or do I have to wipe the device first to flash your recovery?
I'm curently on richard's rom, is there a lot of difference under the hood? My understanding is that both are WIP and more or less the same.

Great job Ahmgsk! Any reports on speed guys?
Are there basic differences to the DeFroSt ROM?
i dont undesrtand!!! this rom is like the defrost? what are the differents?
Not sure... lots of files are different but i'd like to hear from ahmgsk first
i've some has the new launcher2 as an apk (not apk and odex) please upload it!!!...thank you guys
They were both working on their respective roms at the same time. Richard released first but why should Ahmgsk not release his too? Some people like to stick the devs they already know and i for one have used Ahmgsk's stuff before. Not heard of Richard. Plus side is Rachard has aps2sd.
Variety is the spice of life anyways!

My Stable NAND build (2.6.25 kernel + casacristo's RLS18 ROM)

Not-so-Super Froyo was my best rom build but too much crashes and app forecloses inched me closer to bringing back Windows Mobile. After a while of experimentations I think I found my best combo ever ---- l1q1d's 2.6.25 kernel and casacristo Valentine ROM. Thanks!!!
My screenshots. Not the default appearance though.

Here's my setup for NAND Installation: (Download all 4 files)
a. casacristo's VALENTINE ROM build (extract androidinstall.tar from the downloaded file using winrar or any rar decompression program)
http://www.ziddu.com/download/13802744/androidinstall.rar.html
b. l1q1d's 2.6.25 kernel POLAIMG.NBH
c. install-seq.sh
d. You might need to flash the kernel with this file CustomRUU.exe
(See Attached file for download links below)
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
The NAND installation doesn't work in automated mode. You have to enter the
Android BOOT Menu mode and install from there. Resetting the phone also will not work. You have to enter the Boot Menu and press Exit. OR you can rename the file install-seq.sh to anything so reboot works automatically.
Try these STEPS for installing Android on your Polaris NAND:
IF YOU ARE NEW TO MODDING ANDROID ON YOUR POLARIS I SUGGEST TRYING l1q1d's TUTORIALS FIRST. I suggest you have newer bootloader and radio. Im not responsible for what you do with your phone anyway.
1. Create a folder named Andboot on your SD card and copy the 2 files androidinstall.tar and install-seq.sh inside the folder.
2. Insert your SDCard on your Polaris.
3. Go to Bootloader Mode by pressing RESET once while pressing down the Camera button.
4. Once the 3-color Bootscreen comes out, connect your Polaris to your Computer thru the USB cable and check that the screen says "USB" and not "SERIAL" anymore.
5. Put CustomRUU.exe and POLAIMG.NBH together inside any folder and RUN CustomRUU.exe. Follow the instructions on screen. When the format is over your phone will reset and Android installation begins.
6. HOLD PRESS the Volume UP button until the installation texts roll on the screen and you come into the Android Boot Menu. IF YOU DONT, then RESET the phone and do it again.
7. Choose the menu "Install System" and let Android install for a while.
8. Installation finished. Choose Exit and let Android roll. Congratulations.
WHAT'S WORKING?
I tried the following...
Camera, WIFI, GPS, Bluetooth, Removable Disk Mode in USB works when connecting USB while logging in to Windows, ... Battery is more accurate.
WHAT's NOT WORKING?
VideoCamera... dont ever try it freezes; Install to SD...nope!
WHAT's NEW?
New Market, New Battery Image, No frequent forecloses, lesser resets
WHAT's IN?
Comes installed with GOLauncherEX (I preferred LauncherPro), SwiFTP, APNdroid, and more.
I recommend the following apps (tried and tested):
*Contapps for Contacts (syncs with FB, Twitter to name a few)
*ChompSMS for Messaging
*LauncherPro for Launcher
*Friendcaster for Facebook
*QuickPic for Gallery
*FileExpert for File Navigation
*GPS Essentials
*KS Uninstaller
*Easy Installer
*ClockQ
*Tubemate
I trying it now. I have had problem with installing apps in app store but after phone restart is all ok. I love the speed of this system
Thanks for trying. Thanks by the way to l1q1d for his kernel and Atools and tech. I chose to use his 2.6.25 kernel since that has working camera. You might wanna try with the latest 2.6.32 kernel maybe more results would be favorable. If you can find a better setup pls share also, for now I'd be sticking with this combo. The battery status by the way is accurate and reliable. I got 5% juice and the phone is still working though reminding me to connect to charger. Previously on the Froyo combination the phone is dead at 25%.
Question
Hey guys. First of all thank you for posting this thread, and second, can you please tell me if i can use this build with haret, not nand. I tried to install it but i didnt succed. Can you please help me?
I can't install it too? Everytime i see can't extract the files, after it reboot and hold the vol up bottom?
Hmm sorry my mistake, i forgot to unpack "androidinstall.tar"
I'm gonna comment after use
Seems to work proberly? You say install on nand, but why does it still use the sdcard when reboot?
I have a problem.
After I installed it,I turn off my phone and turn on it again.
I failed to boot the android,it says "Failed to format".
Plz help me!
oh sorry. i know what's wrong now.
Hello again guys. I have managed to install it in haret. I must say its fast but still not so "super" . It doesnt load the market (gives me a server side error), launcher freezes. I will test it some more and get back asap.
LE: Seems to be working. I dont know how, but it is. I am downloading apps as i type. And btw, the battery indicator is much accurate then before. Thank you again.

When you boot it,you should hold pressing the volume up button. You'll find that you are in Boot Menu. Press "Quit". Then it'll be fine.
I'm having a load of trouble doing this, probably cause im a noob :[
i followed the instructions but ended up with a white flashing screen and couldn't do anything. I've just installed the original software windows mobile 6.1 and I'll try again. Hope i can get it to work this time!
does androidinstall.tar need to be unpacked, or do i just unpack that file from the rar?
i did the same thing ... i didnt unpacked the archive and it didnt worked. so you should unpack and try again.
same thing has happend again with just the .tar file on there, my phone completes the installation and when it goes to boot up it vibrates twice and flashes on the white screen, any help would be appreciated
The issue lies on the kernel (POLAIMG.NBH). Your Polaris could have a different panel coz there are actually other types. Please read l1q1d's original tutorial on how to use Atools to obtain a kernel suited for that phone. Just try one of the panel type from that tutorial and if it dont work try the other. You can always use the androidinstall.tar file from this post with that kernel.

[ROM] 01-09-11 Ganbarou ROM V1.1

Last version of this ROM.
I messed up SP1. I am sorry for this.
V1.1 is availale now.
A small update for my latest tablet ROM with a some bug fixes and improvements.
Based on stock ROM V1.10, spiced up with Corvus amazing kernel for Android 2.2 and tweaked a little bit for 3G and GPS use.
It includes:
Live wallpapers
Fixed problem with screen calibration application
Added Suspend mode by short press of power button
Small graphical changes in the status bar
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
>
Some users were complaining that Live Wallpapers are missing. Ok, here you get them back.
In V 1.0 I included a wrong version of the screen calibration utility that caused FC. this fix includes a working version.
I found as well a solution to enter the suspend mode by just pressing the power button. The behaviour is now like:
Short press (~2 sec) => tablet enters suspend mode
Medium long press (~4 sec) => power option menu is shown
Long press (>8 sec) => tablet switches complete off
The full ROM is in the ROM download section.
If you are coming from another ROM then I strongly suggest a full wipe of Data, Cache and Dalvik-Cache, otherwise the ROM might not work correct.
And as usual: You use this ROM on your own risk. I am not responsible if you break your device, loose warranty, get into a fight with your wife or loose important company data from your SDcard.

It is based on Stock V1.10 ROM (Android 2.2) and I didn't remove any languages.
Just can't tell you which languages are in, as I have HoneyComb now on my Viewpad.
HoneyComb is as well the reason why I stop working on this ROM.

You're welcome. Sorry for the long delay, but due to some change at my work I had not much time to play with Android.
Can you adjust the cache size so that we can run 40mb plus app?

It is possible, but needs a different type of installation. A ROM flashed through CWM cannot change the partitions sizes. I need to create an exe file with a changed partition size like explained here.
Or you can try the workaround from MoDaCo forum.
[EDIT]
Just created a basic ROM that changes your cache partition to 40MB. Check my post 40MB cache size for Vega stock ROMs to see how it works.
[/EDIT]
I'm currently using your v1.1 rom on my viewpad 10s, but the main problem is the device use only 2g mode and never use 3g/wcdma mode, is there any tools to activate 3g/wcdma mode?since I use my viewpad for mobile, I need 3g mode very much

Sounds strange, I have no idea why it is in 2G mode instead of 3G. My Viewpad 10s is on 3G all the time.
Try one of the switchers, like widgetsoid or 2G-3G OnOff if it can switch the status.
3g/2g problem solved after reboot
Next question is, how can I switch between app using longpress home screen icon like cm7 mod?

Doesn't work. I use Button Savior. With that I have the buttons on the screen even in apps that close the status bar. And there the long press on home screen icon brings up the list of apps.

Because I forgot to change it.
hello, today I wanted to test your ROM, i have downloaded this file and flashed on my tablet. After flashing my tablet remains on black screen when I want to open, what can I do to enter in CLOCKWORKMOD for restore from last backup?
I was not careful, now I saw that the file was updated to v1.1 if I had v1.0 installed on the tablet.
Can I do anything to recover my tablet back?
thanks.
You could nvflash original stock or modded stock v2 to get your tablet back up and running, if you use modded stock then you will have access to clockworkmod again.
how can I start 3g mode?
Finaly, I installed this ROM, but I can't start 3g mode or mobile network mode, in setting I can't find anything about 3g or sim or something like that. I need to install some application for 3g mode?
I've posted here details about my tablet and 3g modem.
Thanks.

[Guide] How transform my chinese huawei g700 into an european one

last rom eng / cn but with morelocale2 you can localize perfectly
English manual
I bought the phone from Chinese dealer without any customization and additional costs
install hisuite (find it official download page)
Downloaded this package g700 tools
i've upgraded to the latest rom 130
obtained root with eroot.exe (first flag debugging in storage)
I've installed the mobile app uncle m44_toolbox_20130809_v2.9.5_ru.apk (before authorize unknown origin)
I've installed the cwm recovery with mobileuncle
Via recovery I've installed gapps signed
Wipe cahe and data. I recommend to put the original recovery if you need to carry out a new update
if you are coming from a cwm recovery and want to install or force installation of the official rom change your recovery into stock one using mobileuncle
place the dload folder containing the official rom in the root of sd removable
then
1 Disconnect your phone with your computer or other device (such as chargers) connection and shutdown.
2 Press and hold the volume up and down keys, then press the power button.
3 after coming off the boot screen, release the power button and continue holding the volume down key until you see the update interface, then release the volume up and down. The update process takes about two minutes.

Hi,
Thanks for the tutorial. I also own a G700 and with some of you help, I managed to root it, remove chinese apps and install Google Apps, thanks! :good:
But there is one problem: When I have WiFi enabled and for some reason my Wifi disconnects (for example I go out of reach), my phone keeps asking me, each and every time, if it's allowed to use Mobile Data. It says:
Data connection change
WLAN is unavailable, try to connect to mobile network?
Do you also get this message? If so, how to disable it?
Thanks

Thanks for the fast reply.
But on other phones, I never get this message. I want to disable it, because if I dont accept it, I do not get emails etc.
And it asks everytime. It should remember my answer.
Do you have this problem too?

Ok, Thanks. Do you have a solution?
If not, do you speak Russian? Can you ask at 4PDA.ru?
It seems that this behavior is present in all recent Chinese ROMs from Huawei and there is no way to disable it. However, I found a workaround for it; The message only popsup if you have WiFi and Data Enabled and you lose WiFi connectivity. Then your phone will ask if it's allowed to switch from WiFi to Data. So, if you make sure WiFi is disabled before switching to Data, it will not ask this question. To do so manually, takes a lot of time. Luckily there is an app that can automate this task for you. Here's how:
Install the app 'Llama' from the Market (Free) and create these two events:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The 1 second delay is necessary, else it does not work properly.
What it does: Switch off WiFi as soon WiFi disconnects from your WiFi network and then enables Data. This way, it does not show the popup and 'automatically' switch to Data. Don't forget to manually enable WiFi again if you are in reach again of your WiFi network.
If you want Llama to automatically turn back WiFi on as soon you get home/in reach of your WiFi, you have to let it learn your location. Read the help/documentention on how to do so. It's pretty easy to do
This 'fix' works for me 9 out 10 times. Give it a try, I hope it helps you.
Kind regards.
Can somebody post link for stock recovery for G700? ON 4pda is is there but I cannot register there due to security code check, which has russian letters...
regards
