Hide music folders from TF3D Music tab - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Greetings people.
Since my storage card is full with over 700 mp3's, audiobooks and stand up comedy shows, naturally when I navigate to the TF3D music player it lags. A lot!
It takes about 10-15 seconds just to load the music files, and another 10 seconds from the moment I hit play/pause/next till it actually starts/pauses/changes a song. Plus it loads all my audiobook tracks as well.
Is there a way to make the TF3D Music tab search under -only one- folder? For example Storage Card/My Documents/My TF3D Music?
I tried the solution posted here but it doesn't work.
Thank you in advance!

I love the net.
On December, I was searching for over a week for a solution and found nothing.
Yesterday, I searched for a minute and voila, solution found!
Quick note: Total Commander did not make sub-directories hidden as well. I had to mount my sd on my pc and manually set any folder I wanted as hidden.
It all works flawlessly now

Seems a bit excessive but I guess if it works?
I don't think I've ever had to do that with the ROM in my sig but if you aren't up for flashing a custom ROM, then perhaps this is a better solution.

Windows Media Player Resume Plugin

Hello everybody,
i just developed a little plugin für the Windows Media Player (10) wich kills one the biggest disadvantages of the Windows Media Player, the missing resume function.
My plugin saves the state when you press "pause" and reloads the state when you start the Media Player again.
If there is anybody interested in, i would try to upload the files.....
I tried it on WM6, but it SHOULD work on WM5 too.....
Greets,
Thomas
would be great wolfman.. i'd try it if you happen to post it
Great idea! Would you be so kind to post it please?
The files
Ok, here are the files.
The archive consists of two files:
resumePlugin2.dll - the Plugin
regPlugin.exe - exe to reg the Plugin
Just copy the two files in a directory on the device, then execute the
regPlugin file. After that the plugin should be active. I´ve tested it only on my device and i give no warranty that it will work! If there are any problems just delete the reg-Key \HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\UIPlugins\{71D48166..........}.
The plugin saves the playlist and the resume-position in a file named "resume.pl" located in the root directory of the device every time you press the "pause" button in the media player. When you exit the player it will reload the playlist and the resume position the next time when you start the player and start playback. The resumePlugin will not affect the VoiceCommand functionality.
I would welcome any feedback.
Greet,
Thomas
Thanks! Greatly appreciated, and great work!
nice work. works well with my jasjar running jwright wm5.
how about equaliser plugin?
thanks
It looks like it works but only the first time...
I installed it and ran windows media player. Set pause and waited until it went to sleep. Turned it on and there it was, my playlist as I left it.
But the next time it would forget! Next time it works, next it doesn't. Or sometimes it looks like it is randomly working...
Using official XDA EXEC ROM (latest) with WM5...
Thank you anyway for your time and effort in developing this... nice idea! It is the most annoying thing for me with WMP, the second is the playlist management itself, wish it was more like mortPlayer, wouldn't you happen to have a plugin that fixes or adds functionality to the WMP playlist?
excellent little app. a couple of suggestions, perhaps it would be better if it did not begin playing automatically on resume, but rather started paused. also perhaps if it would save on close rather than on pause (it seems more logical and it seems to me that the app leangthens the pause time by a second or two).
i don't mean to sound critical (i don't know the first little thing about programing, so i fully respect your creation) just my little two sense.
Great plugin. I wish I had found this sooner.
One note though, in order to install it, I had to run the exe from the root level directory. I originally tried it from the program files folder and it did not work. So the dll sits in my root level folder.

TF3D Music Library - Finding Tracks

It seems to be the music library in TF3D is missing a vital component - with 16gb cards now available it is possible to store a large number of tracks (I have > 2500). Scolling through all songs/ albums/ artists etc in the library just doesn't cut it when you have that many tracks.
What is required is something like the alphabet bar to the right of the screen in Contacts (and where you add cities in the Weather tab), so you can quickly go to tracks starting with the right letter, and then scroll from there.
Is something like this possible? If not, it seems like a silly ommission by HTC as they have implemented the same kind of thing in other areas of the phone.
Any ideas?
Seriously - no-one else has a problem with this?
Mine won't even find the tracks on the memory card let alone require the need to search through hundreds of them!
All I have are the four HTC demo ones... even tho I've got loads of tracks on the memory card, the only way I can play them is by using WMP rather than the TF3D Library
Works fine for me here.
Have HTC spanish 1.90 official ROM, and an Sandisk SD 6Gb Class4 microSD card.
I have around 250-300 files in MP3/WMA format inside SD\MY Documents\Musica and have no problem using from TF3D.
I have some files in SD\Seleccion\Ringtones in MP3/WAV/WMA format and this files appear in TF3D Music too.
I'm waiting for my new 16Gb microSD card, so probably i put thousands music files into the SD and report back here what's going.
Cheers
do you have to have album art for the tunes to show in the TF3D music app or does it have a placeholder for mp3's without album art attached?

I don't have a solution to this problem, but I got the problem as well...
Right, so this thread seems to have moved on to people who can't get the TF3D player to recognise their music. There are plently of other threads about that - please check them out.
I have no problems using the player whatsoever - all 2500+ tracks are showing in TF3D, and I even got all the album art sorted out. If I only had a couple of hundred tracks there would be no issue at all. The problem is that with so many tracks TF3D is a pain to navigate through - if you want to find a track that starts with the letter Z it takes forever to scroll to it in the library.
I was hoping some enterprising soul with a bit of programming knowledge could develop something similar to the alphabet bar in Contacts (and where you add cities in the Weather tab), so you can quickly get close to where you want to be, and then scroll from there.
Does that make sense? Anyone know whether that might be possible?

Sorry, I think you're just not understanding what I'm saying. I have no problem at all with files and album art etc being recognised by the AudioManager. The problem I have is that when there are thousands of tracks, then navigating through them is a right pain, and I was hoping someone could come up with a better way of doing it.

I have been wondering this as well. I know that HTC produced the Random Access addon for Contacts. Does anyone know - or anyone able - to see if this could be made available for the audio manager?
Yes, I'm frustrated by this too. It would be nice to have the music in the tab, but it would be better to have a great little media player. Any reccomendations?
ya im frustrated by it too. i basically just use that tf3d player for random/shuffle playing.
if i want a specific song ill just navigate to it through file explorer.
kind of a PIA but oh well. maybe they will update it later on.
Audio manager long list issue
I am having same issue. With about 400 albums in my music audio manager there seems no way to scroll thru the list quickly. Hope someone tries and comes up with some kind of solution.

Resetting Sense Music Player - 6.5.x ROMs

There seems to be a universal problem with most of the newer 6.5.x roms with the Sense music player. The problem it seems that the internal sense music database becomes corrupt. Example follows;
1) On a clean build (recently flashed or hard reset) - with some music on your SD card, open the music tab.The screen will show 'Searching...'.
2) After some time it will display the albums/songs/etc. Normal. Good.
3) Now plug the device back into USB, wait a little time, then disconnect USB.
4) Goto music tab, device shows 'Searching...' but now gets stuck forever there. You now lose the music player - totally useless.
Does anyone know where sense stores it's music database...is there a file we can delete (like Windows Media player database file you can delete and recreate) ? I tried deleting the Windoes Media database file but that doesnt help. Thanks.
** NOTE - Dutty's latest HG 6.5.x builds are the only ones I found so far that this works (but sense is still very slow to scan if you have over 100 songs on your SD card). **

I had that issue, I just removed and re-attached the SD card, OR if u dont want to have to remove the back plate. go to your settings, set your phone to Windows Mobile, then go back and set it to Sense. cleared it up for me both ways

Thanks - might try that next time. Still sucks to have to do this every time you connect your device to USB.
Code:
\Application Data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\AudioManager_eng.vol
To delete it: rename, reboot Manila, delete the one you renamed.
It will be automatically regenerated, and you will be left with a faster, less corrupt music tab.
fowl2 - thanks I will try that also.
Does anyone know what that little 'spinning wheel' icon means in the top left. It's next to an icon to update album art and seems to randomly spin from time to time. I thought it may have meant it is updating the album art for the current song, but this thing spins randomly, even if the current song already has album art ?

hi, I encountered some problem with the media player in sense after i tried to syn the lib with my notebook. now i cannot play the player from sense. gives me some error. i did a hard rest and still cud not resolve the prob.
before i try your method, i would like to clarify :
1. i rename the file AudioManager_eng.vol - as in i dun have to backup this file
2. reboot Manila - as in reboot the phone
3. delete the file the I renamed after I've rebooted the phone
the music tab will be automatically regenerated when i go to the media play in sense ?
Thanks
I gave up on the Sense player - it's so embarrasingly unstable and slow compared to S2P. I can't recommend that enough.

Try converting ALL your mp3 files to wma format. I solved in this way. take a look to my thread with a very similar problem.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=640948
Thanks everyone for the replies.
In the end, I disabled the sense media player
cadorna, I will read thru the thread when i have the time. Thanks
i changed the media file to wav. all is good now
the easiest way is to kill the audiomanager process with some task manager and then run the sense audio manager.
corrupt mp3's can cause this issue....
re-format sdcard would be the next step...

[Q] Stock mp3 Player reverses song order in Playlists - Ideas?

Hey guys,
I've got an odd problem with samsung stock music player on my note 10.1.
Every playlist I add to the device is (dis)played upside down. At first i suspected isyncr, which i use to sync my Itunes with the note, to be the problem - but it turned out it is not.
I already did the following:
checked the m3u playlist isyncr generates with a text editor - everything fine
cleared data of stock music player
cleared data of "media storage"
created a playlist with a 3rd party player (amazon) => reverse order in samsung player, correct order in poweramp, player pro
created a playlist with samsung player => reverse order in 3rd party players (amazon, poweramp, player pro)
searched the internet and xda
asked samsung support for help - twice
Internet knows a similar problem with samsung fascinate without any solution, here on xda i found an old thread which i suspect describes the same problem on a different device (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1404735), but also without a solution or idea.
I can hardly believe there is such a bug in the stock music app and hardly anyone steps into it. I also find it hard to believe that samsung had this bug in Fascinate's music player, fixed it in the Galaxy S2's (which i also own and doesn't have this problem), just to re-integrate it in the Note 10.1.
Samsung support is not able to give any qualified answers and rather tries to force me to use kies (which I even tried, but despite its poor performance cannot help me with this problem). I will, however, try to ask them a 3rd time.
The Problem existed in ICS ROM as well as in Jelly Bean, which arrived about 2 weeks ago (XXBLJ9).
Any Ideas what I could try next?
If you read this and don't know an answer either, you can still help me by verifying the problem on your note 10.1 - just create a playlist with for example amazon mp3 (playlist, not album) and open it with samsung stock music player. Would be great, thanks in advance!
Greetings,
Oliver
Okay...seems like nobody has an idea how to solve this...no problem.
You can, however, also help me by just trying it out, takes about 1 minute of your time...is nobody using the stock music player and any other player?
As Internet isn't full of complaints, i suspect that it could be a configuration specific problem with my note. I am willing to wipe it in that case, but as it is not rooted i've got to restore its current state manually after that - which might take some hours So I just want to make sure that there's a chance that wiping helps me with my problem.
Anyone? Can (or can't) you confirm my problem?
Thanks and Greetings,
Oliver
Same issue on Samsung Droid Charge

Hi,
I have had my Samsung Charge since it came out. That problem has always persisted on my device. I find it extremely frustrating as the point of a smart phone is that it is multiple devices. I would like this to be my main music player as well since it has an external 32gb SD card and so can hold quite a bit of music.
I am not a developer (I do do technical support), just decided I am trying to figure out - AGAIN - why it does this. I just downloaded a trial of PowerAmp. Don't know if this might help you figure out the problem. Power Amp shows my synced playlists from Windows Media Player not as a Playlist but as a music folder under folders. So far I have synced just one playlist as a test. In the folder in powerAmp, it is in the correct order. In the stock music player it is in reversed order.
I paused in typing, and after syncing multiple playlists at one shot, the list in Poweramp is garbled. The first try created a single folder with all the songs from the playlist in correct order. Now with the sync of multiple lists, I do have a couple like above but the rest either didn't come across or the music came across but not the playlist. The stock music player also has just some not all of the playlists I synced. The music is all in reverse order.
To me this suggest that problem is with the implementation of the sync on the device itself, given you have the same issue. My guess is it reads and writes the playlist from bottom up. I think there is also a burrering problem since it never seems to bring all my lists over and if that happens only some of the music.
Hope this helps, would like very much to know if you find a solution. Samsung is close to losing me as a customer over this. I care less about browsing and connectivity and more about multi functionality. A music player that works is important to me, and am considering an HTC or maybe even an IPhone (!!!) next time around just because of this - and my next upgrade is in 60 days. I HOPE YOU ARE READING THIS SAMSUNG!!!

Hi Oliver,
Just discovered that my Amazon MP3 cloud player has all my playlists I just synced (except one) and the songs are all in the correct order. This is confounding to me as I previously had the same reversed order issue in this player. Not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that I went into the file system dorectly and deleted all the contents from themusic related folders before doing the sync for that one then multiple lists. Not sure what happened with that one list, might be related to the fact that it is a custom CD mix ( old school club music, I need the beats for running!). Am going to try syncing that list as I really like the music that's on it. This would seem to contradict my thinking above though. Seems the issue is with the Samsung stock music itself, not the sync. HTC/Apple here I come...
Galaxy stock mp3 Player
I have Samsung Fascinate and it has the same problem with stock mp3 music player. Songs on playlist are reversed. I also tried a few other players but they are not convenient.
So as previous says we can use Amazon mp3 player and widget. It works good for me. It remembers when I paused and even after reboot. So decided use it. It doesn't interfere with other programs (I use in my car navigation app - Navigon). So its very convenient listen music and have navigation.

Looking for a simple music player that works on folders and ticking boxes for files

I have gone through a bunch of players on Play store, but I haven't managed to find what I'm looking for. It's really very simple: I want a music player (I refuse to watch video on anything smaller than the 55" in my cabin or the 2,5 meter wide screen in my home theater, and I don't commute, so I have no need to kill time (which I don't have enough of anyway, working in a home office)) that doesn't read anything but file names, and that operates with folders. I don't need any grouping, I have my music/podcasts/audio books sorted in neat folders. But the problem is that I need to be able to tick boxes for choosing several files to play. That way I can line up 4-5 podcasts or whatever fits my schedule at the moment and won't have to take the phone up of my pocket before they are done. I have found several that works on folders (like Folder Play), but none of them allows me to tick boxes or easily multi select in any other way. I have been using my Windows Mobile 6.5 HTC HD2 until today and if there was something that worked like Pocket Player I'd be good. The problem is that even Pocket Player for Android doesn't work like Pocket Player... So please, give me suggestions for a good and easy app!

Try Music Folder Player, it lets you select the folder you wish to play. Here's the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.zorillasoft.musicfolderplayer&feature=search_result
What about Rockbox? You are the same as me, music are sorted in neat, organized folders. You can just browse through folder method and long pressing a few to add in queue.
Or, you can try XenoAmp, which is pretty the same, except that one press adds the selected music into the queue right away. It is available in the section you posted here (not in Play Store).
Rockbox: http://rasher.dk/rockbox/android
Thanks! I'll have a look at all the suggestions.
How about PlayerPro , which u can try its "Folder Browser" feature.
