Hey there. I'm new to this forum, and I need help! I updated my Samsung Epic to 2.2 today without a hitch. Following online instructions, I downloaded the 2.2 software, copied it onto the SD card in the phone, entered recovery mode and loaded the update.zip file. The phone rebooted and everything's fine. Then, I took my girlfriend's Epic and did the same thing. But, when the installation appeared to be done, and the phone restarted, it didn't restart. Instead, I goes back to the recovery mode and I can't get it to do anything else. I've removed the battery, turned it back on, but it just goes to that screen. I don't know much about this, but it seems like it can't find the system software. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help!

Just bought my phone a couple of days ago, I was looking to root it as I had an Incredible but stepped up to this. Rooting went pretty good, failed first time but went through the second. Then I installed rom manager and flashed clockwork. I then went into the recovery but saw that I had an issue with with it about signatuire verification so I figured I still had the stock recovery. I went in and got the modded recovery file and just renamed the old one. Rebooted into recovery and the phone would lock at the samsung screen and not go anywhere. So i booted it back up like regular and flashed clockwork again and tried to boot into recovery again with the same issue but now I can't get the phone to boot up regularly. Its just hanging at the samsung screen, I have the battery pulled while I wait just to make sure its not an issue like that. Did I miss something when I was doing this? I watched the videos on how to root and install the recovery but I'm lost as to what is going on now. I thought my only issue was the stock recovery was still installed for some reason so I replaced that with the modded version. Thanks for you help and I hope I don't have to redo everything again.
Alright, delete this as I got inpatient and figured my phone was screwed anyways so I went ahead and used odin and I'm in clockwork right now. Sorry for creating a useless thread.
Hi,
im new here. In june I installed a devil kernel with android 4.0.4. ICS_4.0.3_MR1-RC4.2_I9000.zip.
This worked fine until last weekend. My phone rebooted and only showed the kernel for a while and rebooted again.
I tried to recover my phone with odin. Now my phone only start up the clockworkmod and doesn;t read my sdcard.
How can I get my phone back working. I'm not an expert on phones. I'm the monkey who learned a trick.
If you can and will help me I need simple instructions.
Robert
Good evening everyone. I was running a custom mod for some time now. Everything was working well, until about 1 month ago.My phone would randomly turn off, and get stuck in a loop. All of a sudden as I was trading currency pairs from my phone. It looped again and has not been able to turn back on. So I searched the threads, and decide to change the custom mod to see if it would work (serendipity). In which I loaded to my sd card, ran from CWM, and it would get stuck on the samsung logo screen.
I then found this link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524081&page=27 which seemed promising. I have downloaded the file recommended, but I can't get into DOWNLOAD mode, because I keep getting stuck on the samsung screen. The only thing I can do is boot into CWM. So once I am there, what do I do? Where do I need to load the "Stock_SGH_I997_UCLB3_Repartition-One-Click" program as it isn't a ZIP file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,
Alex
Sorry everyone... I tried one more time (my 5th attempt!) and it worked this time! I have no idea what happened with the earlier attempts. Thanks
Hello everyone. I'm having a problem with a Rogers Skyrocket here and hope someone can help. It was running a custom ROM, but I was given the task of returning it to stock. I don't recall which ROM was on it, but it worked nicely. I should have just kept it that way!
Thanks to vincom's super helpful posts, I got the info & file(s) needed to get this thing back to stock. I installed Odin 1.85, and extracted
I727RUXLF3_I727RRWCLF3_I727RUXLF3_HOME.tar.md5
from the zip. I started by doing a wipe/factory reset (from inside the custom rom) first, and rebooted to see that it showed the initial setup screen. Then pulled battery and booted the phone into ODIN mode. I made sure to kill Kies completely before connecting the phone to my laptop (WinXP). Then launched Odin, hit the PDA button, loaded up the above file, left the check-boxes as they were, and flashed. It was successful, and rebooted the phone.
The rogers logo appears, and the samsung galaxy bootanimation comes up, and it continues to animate.... forever (for the record, I waited 20 minutes, more than enough time). I can pull the battery and try to boot again but it still stays on the bootanimation. I'm not sure what else to do? I can still get into stock recovery or Odin mode. Can anyone help? Thanks
Okay so earlier today i rooted my phone, i unlocked the bootloader and installed SuperSU, also used Win-Team recovery.img, and everything was fine, i wanted to see what else i could do now that i had root, so i came across something called ROM's, i searched for a ROM that would go with my phone and downloaded it on my pc, i moved the zip file onto my sd/memory on my phone, then opened win-team on my phone, and flashed the ROM zip, (stupidly i didn't know i had to back up the original ROM) So now whenever i turn on my phone i get stuck at the "Quietly Brilliant", and it vibrates numerous times, and when i hold my volume button and the power button to get into the menu, i cant enter factory reset, or the recovery, so its basically unusable. Please help me i have a lot of important stuff on my phone and i really don't want to lose it! thank you
