Is there any way to upgrade the phone to at least 2.0 if I root it?
Absolutely!
All you need to do is create a 2.0 ROM for it and you will be good to go. Now I know some guys on here have been working on a 2.1 ROM for months now so they may beat you to their upgrade and Cricket may actually have theirs out before then as well.
The main issue is, in most cases each phone needs a ROM tailored specifically for it. It wasn't even as simple as taking a ROM from Sprint’s Zio and putting it on the Cricket one, it is taking a lot of tinkering to figure out how to even do that.
So...in all seriousness, the best advice is be patient...

Being a complete noob in the smartphone arena, I would like to know what ROM's? are compatible with my phone.
I was parusing the site and ran this one (see link)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=380991&highlight=pantech
Is this compatible with my pantech duo c810?
If not, how about pointing me in the right direction.
Thanks
Unfortunately, none of the ROMs you'll find here will work on the Pantech C810, or any Pantech phone for that matter. Problem is, they havent found a way to allow the phone to load any ROMs other than the ones that come from either Pantech or AT&T. What you can do is customize the hell outa the phone by hand, but it isn't easy. Hopefully, someone will find out how to bust open the phone and we can have our way with the ROMs, but until then, its hand fixes for those of us who still have too much student loan debt to afford awesome phones.
I bought this phone for my sister a few months back thinking that I would have been able to tweak it like i do my kaiser. Hope they finally do crack this thing, its actually a pretty kickass phone. Dont be ashamed, its still better than a razr...

Hello XDA!
I wondered if anyone could provide me with a System.img of any MIUI v4 ROM so I could use it in a AVD? All MIUI downloads I found high and low on XDA and elsewhere are in .zip format and I currently lack a Android handset to create one myself easily :/ Or is there maybe a way to convert a zipped ROM to a system.img with the help of a PC? I have access to Linux aswell if that should matter.
Thanks in advance for any help!
And let me add a bit of back-story as to why I want to even do this for anyone interested:
I have been interested in Android ever since it was released and had a G1 and HTC Desire in the past however since I'm very fickle about GUIs and visual design and in that department Android wasn't my cup of tea sadly so I sold the phones again. Though I have been following the developments of MIUI very closely and I'm genuinely impressed by the massive advancements they continuously make. And with my phone contract up for renewal in April and the iPhone 5 looking worse and worse to me with each passing day I read things about it I am looking to take the plunge to one of the Samsung devices for real once I renew.
Though this time I don't want to buy a device first and regret it later so I thought of sitting down and familiarize myself with MIUI v4 beforehand in a AVD which I already have setup and running fine, I just need MIUI running there so hopefully someone can help me out!^^
Hello, new to the board. I've got a Sidekick 4G that I would like to update the software in from 2.2.1 to a higher software, is this possible and if so how do I go by doing it? I'm pretty tech savory myself but I don't want to f* up my phone. I can't download the WWE App because I'm running old software
Always have been a very, very strong supporter of Sidekicks going way back to the early days when Danger was making them. I've read a few old post and I'm glad there are some people like me that don't care much for the iPhone or any of the newer phones out there. I wish T-Mobile would get there stuff together a released a new Sidekick
Anyways, any help would be appreciate it and I be grateful

any luck?
So I understand this phone just came out and sprint is the first us carrier to get it. But with so many people already having issues with it.
Overheating.... Can't upgrade firmware once rooted.... Sd card issues.... I'm wondering if any devs have intention of starting to work on solutions today is day 2 with the device. I come from 4 Samsung's in a row and was impressed with my daughters g2.
That being said the s5 and all predecessors had substantial dev communities. Now i understand lg is the under dog and that Samsung is gonna have a bigger community. That being said i have 12 days left.
I don't wanna be stuck without the basic features I've come to expect with my sammy.
Custom recovery.
Roms.
Mods.
I mean for a stock rom its decentish.
But I need moar features. Literally.
So let me ask you this.
To those of you who have this from and are already out of your 14 day return period.
If you could swap for a galaxy s6 would you?
Do you think a development community is going to spring up once other carriers get this device?
Do you think we'll ever get a way to do over the air updates with root?
How did it go with the original G flex?
