Just realized that Skype blocked Fring, so how am I supposed to make Skype video calls on my EVO? The ****ty Skype application doesn't even have the option!

It looks like from the reviews in the android market there doesn't seem to be any decent free Facebook chat apps. Does any EVO user have one they recommend? It doesn't have to be fancy. Just run well.

Not only for chat but Facebook apps period. I whole heartedly agree with you. If only they made a Facebook app that can come close to what Tweetcaster or Tuetiour can do.

Well, yeah they pretty much all get the job done but none have a nice UI from what I've found. I guess if I had to choose it would be Bloo.
I use Meebo and have never had a problem with it.

FaBook chat but its not free but it is $1.99 but works great
Found this app in the Mytouch HD/4g System Dump and it works great on the EVO4g it integrates with your Contacts and even Shows if the person has QIK and if they are Online or Off
Also i'm posting the contacts APK if someone can figure out how to convert it of make it flashable it may work then we can video chat dial right from our contact app..

I installed the new QIK App and removed the old one. BUT how do I make a call? I have a contact that on the QIK WEB site, we are set as friends but when I go into the new QIK app and find this person in my address book, it says he isnt a QIK USER. how do I resolve??
This Qik doesn't work for the Evo..It will let you install & download but it can't tell who's on your Qik list & the contact .apk doesn't work either it won't install at all

I found one problem. In a video chat the other person cannot here me. No push to talk button.

I really wanted to use the NEW version.. I clicked on one of my Qik FRIENDS and it said "XXX isnt a QIK USER" and he is. there was NO way for it to get the ONLINE status into the address book since our address book doesnt support QIK..
BUT on the ORIG version I dont see how we know who is online...

Can anyoen CONFIRM this works on the EVO. I removed it. It didnt show anyone online and always told me the person was NOT a QIK user since there is no place in the EVO address book for their QIK USERNAME.. makes it of no use...

HOW do you see who is online? when it comes up I see my address book and it shows NO ONE ONLINE. none of the contacts have any association with QIK so it doesnt show who is online.. somehow you need to be able to put the contacts QIK username in the address book somewhere do that you can see who is online.. SURE you can probably just type in their username and see if they are online if they answer..
Maybe I am missing something???

You have a skype app, that works on wifi and 3G? Where'd you get this? I've looked around a little but not a ton cuz I don't skype too often...but if I had it in my phone I might, haha. Thanks!

I don't use it that much either...only for my lady...but you need to install any version of skype you have, then install this one; from my dropbox.
This one allows you to place calls over 3G.

It can work with 3G, my friend use chinaunicom 3G(WCDMA), and I use Wifi. We have test the new Gtalk video call. The video quality is fine.

Indeed - no video over 3G for T-Mo US at least.
Considering the nexus line always starts on T-Mobile I find it hard to believe they would not be a supporting provider. I am sure we will get this cleared up soon.

it's one of those Locked Market deals like Skype only offering Video chat clients to specific carriers, and if you are not on that, then you can't use it
it might be one of those things where Apple has the sole market deal to offer video chat, and other devices are not allowed sort of deal

I've seen a few, one which is no longer available on the market called 'android voice changer' you can find it through google, it's got a built in dialer that runs through their server and you only get 2 minute conversations for free, if you want longer you must pay for credit. Also its only available for the USA! I've been looking for a UK version for ages to trick workmates, just not any available :/
