[Q] VZW Touch Pro 2 problem - Touch Pro2 CDMA

My Verizon Touch pro 2, that I am currently running on the Alltel network is having a small problem. It is running on cdma like it should, but anytime i flash a new rom to it, the "your sim card is missing" message stays on the screen. Its annoying as heck and Id like to know how to get rid of it. Please someone help.
Also just a quick Q, does anyone know how to setup the data connection?
VZW TP2 (alltel network)
ROM:Stock, 6.5 update, about 5-6 roms from XDA.

tearing my hair out over tp2 on metropcs

so the short story is i have flashed a htc touch (and repaired the esn so it would work on metro) and a htc touch pro successfully without any problems.
the touch pro and the touch pro2 are both on metropcs without any esn work done to them.
i hardspl and load a rom to the tp2 and i set all settings to basically match the touch pro (except a diff #)
NOW this is what has worked perfectly on my touch pro.
it is not working at all on this one. the phone keeps prompting me like the network does not recognize it (like if you tried to dial out with only changing prl) i used *228 and tried to attach it to a new account but it is not working.
i am wondering, if there is something i have missed, because this is a sprint tp2 and it has the sim card in the back. i have tried with the sim card in and out and it made no difference to the message when trying to dial out.
i am no stranger to these phones, yet i am completly baffled on why i cannot get this tp2 to work.
anyone got some ideas?
Johnzm, i would post this on hofo see if metro's mafia can help you figure it out... http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php/335-MetroPCS
You can also try to find your answer there as well. Read some sticky posts before posting.
im not 100% positive, but i dont think you can put a sprint (gsm only) phone on a CDMA service provider.

Sprint is CDMA just like Verizon & Metro PCS
oh, well thanks for correcting me. i thought verizon was the only CDMA service provider other than metro. sorry my bad
I would assume that metro's rom has some carrier specific info in it... i'd do a dump, and see what settings are needed to make it perform correctly on the cooked rom. (only thing i could think of) or take it back to metro and have them reflash it. prolly want to flash it back to stock first... so they do it without suspicion..

[Q] HTC Mazaa activation on Verizon

This question has been asked two times already but in the middle of huge discussion threads and there hasn't been an answer yet, so I thought I'd try again.
There is no way I can find to specify carrier information or get into a "programming" mode via the provided Mango apps. I took it to Verizon and the IME was fine, but the programming codes for the Trophy didn't do anything on the Mazaa so they couldn't activate it.
I did pop in a friend's T-Mobile SIM card and it connected and worked just fine via that route.
I emailed HTC and they said they don't have that information and there is no unlock code since the phone isn't locked.
So, anyone have any clue about how to get this phone provisioned on Verizon? It's running the retail Mango as of yesterday.
Thanks in advance!
Well I have a trophy on Verizon now and I know how tough it is to get Verizon to work with you on this. I am going back to tmobile soon so I need a tmobile phone. Because it's unlikely you'll get the Mazaa to work on Verizon, I will happily trade you my mint trophy with box and all accessories for the Mazaa. I will also add cash or maybe my HP Touchpad with case and dock....
Im not trying to take advantage of you or anything like that, it just seems like it could be good for both of us.
PM me if interested.
Sent from my mwp6985 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
lol that is because it is not locked. locked phones are only an issue with GSM phones. Verizon uses CDMA. Basically, t-mobile and AT&T use sim cards, while Verizon does not. You can not take a Verizon phone and use it for t-mobile or AT&T and vice versa. Simply not possible as they use completely different tech.
Yeah, I know the phone isn't locked. I already said that.
Do you personally know how to provision and unlocked phone to work with Verizon? The HTC Connection Setup says it can't find a database and exits when I run it.
Does anyone know if its possible to copy carrier specific provisioning information from a retail Verizon WP7 rom and inject that into the rom on my phone? The HTC Trophy seems to be the nearest match. At the least it would be great if I could copy over "the database" from the one ROM image to mine.
Open for suggestions here..
Sprint HTC Mazaa activation
I am also looking how to activate my Mazaa on Sprint. Sprint refuses to add it to their network and it can't even find a cell tower. When I look at the settings page and choose about the phone it appears to be setup for Verizon, although I don't have Verizon and can't verify this for sure.
How did u get the HTC connection setup app to even run? Mine immediately just says I don't have an HTC phone and exits!

unlocked is not everything.
GSM phones cannot be used in CDMA networks, and vice versa. What you need is a CDMA phone, to work with the Verzion network. (GSM and CDMA are not software matters, you cannot simply solve by flashing different ROMs)
Phone is Quad Band
Thanks but the phone is a quad band and can work on all of the carriers.
HTC Trophy Rom Dump
I grabbed the Trophy ROM and looked at the image. There is a folder called operatorpkg in the OEM folder that looks to contain the provisioning information and databases. It also includes some Verizon audio files and some PROVXML files for configuration of Verizon.
I don't think there's a way to get a ROM DUMP from a Mango phone yet, is there? If there's a process I could dump the ROM and check for the operatorpkg folder but my guess is that it would be missing on the Mazaa.
Am I naive to assume that copying the operatorpkg from the Trophy (and nothing else from that image) into the ROM image of the Mazaa would essentially make the Mazaa a Verizon-capable phone?
If anyone knows how to dump a dev-unlocked Mango phone's ROM please advise.
Another HTC Mazaa Request
I too have a "developer" HTC Mazaa, version 7661.wp7_5_trial(mojobld).20110607-1657 and have so far have zero success in activating it on Verizon. It works great as a WiFi device and I want to use it to replace my current phone.
For those who have gotten it to work, PLEASE PROVIDE SPECIFICS. When I take it Verizon and use the IMEI and/or MEID, it "provisions", but as a "test" device. It can't see the network and still gives three beeps when I call ANY number, including *611 or *228. Further, since it's not a "retail" device they apparently don't know the program sequence (the #-#-something-something number that puts the phone in setup mode), and the sequence code one for the very similar HTC Trophy didn't work.
Is there an HTC Mazaa RUU ROM image out there that someone can point me to? I haven't found one yet.
Also, has anyone figured out the HTC Connection and HTC Hub apps to work? HTC Hub says "attention required" and won't uninstall nor install. Also, HTC Connection Setup warns "there is no SIM card" even though it's supposed to work on both CDMA networks (w/o SIM).
Again, please provide SPECIFICS if you can help, (or at this point even "hunches" would be OK --LOL) or if you can direct me to a source who can, I'd appreciate it.
cdma phone
I contacted the person at Microsoft who arranged getting me the dev phone and they swapped it with one that works on Verizon. Just did a "switch device" on their web page and it works great!
Next Issue
So I have the Verizon enabled Mazaa and it works great, EXCEPT I can't send or receive media via SMS. Everything says I need to run HTC Connection Setup, but I can't because it tells me I have no SIM card!
Apparently Connection Setup configures everything needed to do what I'm after, but I can't run it.
Anyone have any ideas?

Wow. You actually got it to work on Verizon? How? Please provide the details. I originally gave up on getting mine provisioned on Verizon and went to Tmobile where it worked like a charm. The problem is, there's NO Tmobile reception in my office complex so I've got to go back to Verizon, with this or another phone. The more details you can provide, the better. Feel free to PM me.
There is an FFU file posted in another thread that may provision the device on Verizon for you. MS sends the device out provisioned for either GSM or CDMA. They didn't provide a method of changing the configuration on our own.
So, to get it on Verizon, you can either contact MS and send it back to be flashed with the CDMA image, or you can try flashing the FFU that was posted here. Mine was originally provisioned for Verizon, but to get Mango I had to flash the FFU - so I am successfully using that same FFU image on Verizon.
Be warned that MMS & 3G don't work on Verizon (SMS does, though). I also get occassional crashes on my Mazaa.

[Q] Unlocked T-Mobile phone wont connect to AT&T

I recently got an HD2. According to the seller it is unlocked, but With my AT&T SIM card in it, it won't connect to the network. Originally it had WM6.5 but I have also tried it with ICS and GingerBread and it does the same thing. The closest I have gotten is a message that says "Registering on AT&T..." then after that it says it failed. Help? I know 3G wont work, right now I'm just trying to get phone and SMS working.
If anyone has some input it would be really appreciated. :good:
Please help

Not registered on Network...?

I gotta problem lol. I haven't used this phone in over a month because I destroyed my LCD. So when the new one came I put it on and the phone was okay... Well until it kept saying about me not being registered. I mean I looked everywhere and my phone is unlocked and I'm using TMobile. But it only gives me the voicemail notification and that's all. My signal been going in and out. and I just flashed a new rom (s8/s8+ port). I don't really know where else to go from here. I can't call or use my data or anything. 3days out from going back to school and still don't have it fixed... I need a second opinion before I will decide to go back to a stock rom then get root back.
Could be just something minor or...
I've got TMobile... (Well mint sim) they said that my sim card is purged and that they needed to update the Sim card or they'll send out another if nessacary. Hope they'll fix the problem.
Min and Prl is Null..
I'm guessing it's no longer the Sim card that's causing the problem. I still need help
Hey guys sorry for posting here but I was wondering if it's possible to use a sprint note 5 on Verizon? I'm thinking about getting the note 5 but I want to be able to unlock the bootloader and root. Only issue is I have Verizon. Any suggestions on which version of the note 5 I should get?
Thanks

Did you ever get an answer for this issue? I have a rooted Sprint Note 5 and switched recently to Verizon. Everything works right except my signal says roaming perpetually. That said, I am getting a data signal but I don't think it's up to snuff as far as 4g LTE. The way we got it going was the rep activated a SIM card with another phone before dropping it in mine. I had no data for a while but eventually got it to use data over mobile just, as I said, not full capacity mbps of LTE. I'm hoping to fix the signal saying roaming so I know if I have a 3g, 4g, LTE or whatever rather than just "R" and never being sure if I can access data over mobile with it being hit or miss. Any thoughts?

OnePlus 7 Pro 5G Sprint APN problem

Hi there! Today I received my OnePlus 7 Pro 5G(GM1925, SPRINT), I bought it from a guy in a marketplace web we use here in Argentina, he brought the phone from USA and it's unlocked..so that the thing is for some reason with my current carrier(Tuenti here in argentina) I can get full signal, calls, sms but no mobile data and the APN option isn't available for me, it says " access point name settings are not available for this user" and there is no "+" symbol and all the option are greyed out. I try with another sim, from the carrier the previous owner has and it worked like charm, same with other 2 sim card from the other 2 carriers here, i take the APN with one of the carriers and I tried to modify it but it doesnt allowed me, the edit section is greyed out, with the other one i modify it but when i put the Tuenti sim card i get the "acces point settings..." I try everything from rebooting with wifi several times to hard reset and nothing worth...what are my chances here? its a really really rare situation, i contact the carrier and they say that is a phone problem
Do I need to flash another rom? Root it and modify it? i prefer not to touch anyting.
I really need to get mobile data with my carrier, thank you in advance! Cheers
Totally unrelated, but I had an HTC U11 that was sitting in the drawer that I recently tried to activate on sprint in the US. It gave me the same problem. I had service on this phone before with data. I reinstalled stock rom, tried two different sim cards. Calls and text worked but no data. I had to get a new phone so I just got a OP7pro 5G and am just reading through the forums on it. Hope you fixed it. But if you did curious what you did to remedy it.
