Somehow, the thin circle of glass protecting the camera has cracked. I've always kept it in a case, and I'm not sure what could've caused it.
Is there any way I could repair it?
I believe u would have to change the housing and not sure u can purchase that yet, if its part of the camera built onto it then u can purchase that think its around 15.00.

so i dropped my fuze the other day taking it out of the case and when it hit the ground the cover and battery came off and out. i put it back together to inspect the damage and didnt see anything wrong (i was outside at night in a parking lot). when i got back to my house i looked over the phone again in the light and noticed that it looked like my camera lens was all cracked. it turns out that only the square piece of glass in front of the camera was broken and i peeled it off and the camera seems to work fine without it. does anyone know if this affects the lens at all by being exposed and where i might be able to get another square glass cover??? the original one seemed to be glued down so i dont see why i couldnt glue another thin piece of glass overtop of it???
you can probably check out how thick the glass was and then cut off a small piece and glue it down with a normal glue just so it sticks... it's mostly to protect the lens,
yea it has to be 1 mm at most its really small. i'll take it to a camera shop and see if they have anything i can use to fit in where it was. thanks
i dropped my first fuze from a short distance and that little piece of glass broke around the sides. i think its just a noise filter. the camera still worked but there was alot of extra noise which almost seemed to pulse on the image. im taking better care of my replacement fuze.
did att give you a new replacement for free? i think i am just going to hold on to this one and flash it a few times until the fortress comes out sometime at the end of the summer.
I just want to know if the camera lens cover is replaceable.
I always have a far that it will get scratched and ill be stuck with talking pictures that have a big line through them. I liked the g1 on how it was part of the battery back, so if something happen to it i could just get another back. but on the g2 its kinda build it.
So wanted to know if it could be replaced some how.
IDK but it looks like a seperate piece to me(camera/flash covers and bezel). It might just pop out if you slip a tiny screwdriver between it and the back case half, or the back case half has to come off first.
Idk just hope mines never gets scratched or they make some replacement ones

I agree completely, I'm wondering if the ZAGG full protection covers that tiny lens glass piece ?? Can anyone confirm because ZAGG has a cover called "Full Body Maximum Coverage for $24.99".
Unless it is a high quality piece of glass, any cheap plastic will affect the quality of the camera images.

Full Body does not. Perhaps the Maximun, but i really doubt it, I believe it's only corners.
While looking for a new screen protector, I found this:
http://www.overlayplus.com/US/MFOP-HTCDesireZ
It has a small screen protector that protects the camera
Nice!!! Those will be my next screen protectors.

I ordered the overlay plus sets so I'll let you guys know what I think. But any modern optical device is filled with plastic lens coatings. With the possible exception of these tiny phone cameras, I'd bet the image sensor and primary lens is one piece of plastic.
These cameras suck anyway, if I want a quality image I'll hump my Nikon DSLR around.
BTW it's lens has 5-10 plastic lens coatings in it to control dispersion, reflectivity, etc.
i have the overlay plus and if u put it on correctly ie no dust under... it looks no difference and did not affect the quality of the pics tat was taken.

Hello XDA,
My T-Mobile Nexus 5 fell out of my pocket and landed straight on it's face, shattering the screen. It still works, I still use it, but the screen will now need to be replaced.
I am very handy and can do this job myself - if the cost is reasonable. My question is, do I need just the screen which is just $5.95 for a "Black LG Google Nexus 5 D820 D821 Front Screen Glass Lens Replacement Part" on eBay or do I need the whole digitizer assembly, which is $99+ on eBay. I hope it is the former since the screen is still responsive to touch.
Look at your phone closely. Is it just front mirror that's broken? Digitizer screen is behind the front screen. I would post some pictures to see how bad it is.
I would disassemble it and see if it's broken to if you have an extra phone you can use until you get your parts
You should be able to just replace the "front" glass. But I'll pick up something of about 20/30$. I think 6$ is definitly too poor to be a good glass..

There's no way anyone is replacing just the glass and not having a horrible deformed or otherwise irregular phone after gluing or taping it back together again.
Short answer: You need at least the glass + digitizer. Preferably the frame as well to make it easier on yourself.

^this. And don't buy the non oem one for 99 bucks. It will be garbage in so many possible ways. Pay the 150 dollars and send it to lg. Replacing the glass only is not easy at all either research loca glue and you'll see. Or read my other posts on why not to do screen repairs yourself with a n5. Trust me pay lg to fix it, you'll save time, headaches, and money.
Hello,
I managed to drop my phone from not even 10cm(Gosh this thing is Slippy and fragile as F**k) on concrete and the Glass(not the Display!) broke.
So i was searching on the internet for glass replacement and found one on ebay, but i have also heard that it is quite difficult to remove the glass withou damaging the Display/Touchscreen.
If someone knows if it´s possible or if i need a whole new screen i would appreciate it.
Have Samsung replaced it for you. Bring your S6 back to them for repair. It will remove glass compatibility and job quality problems.
Mine was not even a week old and it fell from my fking pocket onto asphalt/road and part of the screen cracked. It's the damn bulging rounded glass on the sides which make the phone so fragile compared to, say, an S4 which had flat screen!
The retailer does not cover broken glass and was asking 200+ dollars to repair!!
Bought a tempered glass for $16 and it's kinda usable although painful to look at now. And the fking dents on the sides of the aluminum case make it a more painful experience considering I invested all my money on the phone and was waiting to buy a cover for it. Wished I bought the $50 clear view cover when I got the S6
The only place in my area that can replace stuff like this is my provider vodafone.
But i dont really want to spend 200€ to have my Display replaced.
Bite the bullet and have the glass replaced then buy a protective case.
It is difficult to replace only the glass for your s6. I suggest getting a Samsung Galaxy s6 screen replacement with digitizer.
Bump..
How much is this front glass worth? A place here in Grand Rapids wants $275. See my g920p sceen isnt cracked but got smashed in a bit and glass under it is crushed there isnt any cracks in the top layer. But few glass chips floating around the front lens. The Phone did started seperating and I put a drop of glue on edge of screen and frame and held it in and its a still truckn. It works fine and I do got insurance with 200$ deductible for a refurbished phone from Phone Claim. Hey any idea how long that takes?. Replace the phone or is there another option out there to get it fixed?? I dont have any of those heating tools and not gonna make this my first replacment. Now the wifes S5 I may try it for a bit of exprience get things I need when its broke.
I've cracked the glass panel that covers the camera lenses on my ROG 5 by accident. I want to avoid replacing the entire back cover if possible, Has anyone seen the glass piece for sale anywhere? I haven't had luck finding it anywhere...

I went through this and had to change the entire lid friend. Now I have a cover for sale... The only piece I found was practically the same value as the complete cover, as we have to remove it to exchange it decide to change the whole thing... You can do it yourself, I used a hair dryer to soften the cover. glue I loosened the cover with a credit card (be careful with the flat lighting cable) and used the same glue for the other one. (I just put the new one on and the original glue was enough.
Wanted to avoid replacing the entire back but it might be the only option. The leans cover would be much easier to replace if it was easily available but I can't find one. Thanks.
