I didn't see this reported on xda-developers and somehow missed this in the financial press but it sure looks like good news for all of us since HTC will have a much larger user-base and therefore find it easier to offer upgrades.
The earlier Dopod WM6 upgrade announcement didn't include the Herald but the HTC announcement did so I'm sure we can look forward to a WM6 upgrade for the Dopod C800.
Here's the link to the full news item on the HTC site:

Holy crap! I thought HTC had a policy of sticking to making phones and letting other brand names brand and distribute? This is good news indeed.
Hi! Friends,
I wanna know where can I know the codenames of the phones. I wanna know the codenames of Imate Jama & Samsung i710.
Thanx.
imate dont get phones from htc anymore i believe and nor do i think the samsung are htc as they have a phone manufactoring devision too
one way you can test it is google for the name and add htc in the end that should give you pages where the name and htc is both present
Samsung, I think alread have a few of there own smart phones out. Is'nt HTC japeness and Samsung is Koren?
both korean
isn't it HTC is a Taiwanese Company?
HTC is a Taiwanese company. Samsung manufactures all their phones themselves. imate now has contracts with other ODM manufactures than HTC.
Is searching so hard? Most of them are in wiki and if not, than read here:

The HTC Dream will be the first Android enabled phone to the market and it is expected in September.

WM7, Android or Blackberry Thunder? Lots of cool gadgets in my future!
It’s leaking time. With the HTC Pyramid, Nokia dual core phones,
HTC Bravo can join the party. Despite the facts, which are that
HTC Desire was named Bravo before this phone may be coming this year.
According to the reports, which are pretty much
more or less some good rumors, but we can only s
ay good ones.

Thank You
Nice'~

You do know that render was the original design of the HTC Desire? It's not a new HTC phone, it's a fake story made up to drive up traffic to the site. Havee you noticed it's littered with ads? That poop is cash. The pic is hotlinked to another blog as well, and the picture is in their January 2010 archives. This site is nothing but a money generator. And also, why would a site dedicated to upcoming Nokia phones with WP7 reporting about Android phones from HTC? This site is fake.

from my point of view
that site is reporting about android, windows phone 7 mainly. so its not a biggy if they talk about htc bravo
and on this screenshot, htc bravo looks different from desire, atleast its upper body.
it looks ok. Definitely will be looking forward to this phone.
Can't say that I'm excited about another mid-range phone from HTC.
That is quite possibly the saddest excuse for a tech blog site ever... Most of their stories are **** about how they apparently educated people on the internet who said windows 7 phone rather than Windows Phone 7, and other moronic ****. Now to get more hits on their sorry excuse for a website they push a phone that's been out for some time as though it's something great. Sheer, unadulterated incompetence.

I'm really struggling to find a reason for this but maybe, just maybe, it might have something to do with, you know, being a mock up and not the finished product?

Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
Chinese developers have made some great contributions to HD2 development. So with the Sensation being the next move for many of us HD2 owners, I'm hoping we see more of the same with the Sensation. This news has increased the odds of that a great deal.
