[Q] Best HTC Desire HD deal with cash back!!!!!!!!!!!! - General Questions and Answers

Guys... As seen on my other thread, I have a dilemma of going for current best phone - HTC Desire HD or wait for the Nexus S/other dual core phones.
BUT....
When I search for contract today, I found a HTC Dersire HD deal which is best for me.
Network: Orange
Monthly price: 30
minutes : 500 anytime any network
text: Unlimited (althought I dont text much)
Internet: 500MB (I think 500mb will do because I will use wi-fi at home)
Contract: 24 months
Cash Back: 7months half price, equals to GBP105.
That means, my effective cost is only 25.63 per month and full price for over 24 months is only GBP 615.
It will be around GBP 550 if I choose only 300 minutes but in case I over used the minutes and get charge at high price, so I would rather pay 3 pounds extra to get 200 more minutes.
Now, my big concern. Have anyone got a better deal than this which could persuade me to sign a contract for Desire HD rather than to wait for Nexus S?
Open for any suggestion. Comment are much appreciated. Thanks

Come on.. Posted a week no one give opinion.. Dead site

Hi,
You are asking a purely subjective question, ie someone else's opinion will be different to yours.
Do you want someone else to decide for you? If so, you probably wont get many answers on here.
If you have found a deal your happy with then go for it, if not wait

The reason for opening this thread is to discuss any other better deal than this, and also we can exchange opinion on other thing.. wait go go for the deal and possibly cite the reason behind.

Newbie - HTC Diamond or HTC HD?

I'm looking at getting either the HTC Diamond or the HD (will be my first HTC device .
If I total up the cost of the line rental (over 18 months) and then the extra cost of the phone there is a minimum difference of £80 (£25 month line rental on Orange for both phones) between getting the Diamond & HD model.
I could go for a £20 a month contract as this will cover my call time and txts are unlimited but then the price difference in total jumps up with a difference of £150 over the 18 months, between the two.
So, either way, what I would like to know is in all your expert opinions is the extra cost worth it for the HD model?
As yet I haven't seen either phone in the flesh, so to speak, but hope to get into town on Saturday to take a look.
Oh and finally does anyone use any of these places on line where you get refunds/redemption during the course of your contract making the overall 18 month costs cheaper, or are these a scam?
Any advice much appreciated

Welcome
Well, depends a lot on what you want to have on the device, if you surf the web and watch videos a lot definetly HD, if you only need a phone with nice apps go for Diamond.
Any way, READ here: http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdachooser
And once you have chosen your model go to the WIKI
Good luck

Thanks for the reply.
What is WIKI?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki
on the top menu bar it say XDA-WIKI
which one you want also very much depend on what size device you want
HD all the way. It is basically the same thing as the diamond except with a much larger screen.

[Q] T-Mobile Users: Contract Question/Details

Hey guys,
There's one thing I don't quite understand about both this forum and the T-Mobile forum that I'd like some clarification on. I typically see blocks of text from members similar to the following:
Well, I like my Nexus One a lot, but I find myself using my Vibrant on Wednesdays and my G2 on the weekend. I think I'll pick up a myTouch HD when it comes out too for giggles.

My question is: are you people throwing down out of contract prices for all of these phones or am I woefully ignorant of a better channel for buying them?
Just searching around today I've seen multiple people with a Nexus One and a Vibrant, and all I can think to myself is "Surely they didn't spend $1000 on phones..."
Also, as an aside, I noticed the differences between T-Mobiles Even More and Even More Plus plans, which seems to be $20 a month. I'm guessing if I did go with a G2 or a Vibrant under contract that my monthly bill would go up by $20 a month? Or, does that only matter on a new contract rather than an upgrade?
Some of them buy the phones new, off of e-bay or get them as testers. The difference in the even more and even more plus have to do with the phone discount. The cheaper plan you pay outright for the phone. To recieve the discounted phone price you pay the extra $20 a month.
Just talked to a rep today and looked at my plan more. I think I'm going to go for the Even More Plus 500. Right now I'm at loyalty unlimited with 1000 texts, but I'm only using around 300 anytime minutes and 100 texts. Going for the Even More Plus 500 keeps me at $60 a month.
If I factor in $20 a month more on my current plan under contract it means I'd be paying $480 + cost of phone over the lifetime, so it sounds like it's better off contract.
That aside, anyone else want to chip in on where they get their phones? Particularly people with 2-3 current Android devices?

Cheapest (and probably the best) place to get your Sensation 4G with Contract

Hey guys,
Just wanted to share some information that I got with you.
I got my Sensations 4G from the local Costco. I paid $250 for them, and will get $50 MIR. That sounds like the price everywhere else, right?
But no! Because when they start selling the phone for $99 in about a month - We can get them to match the price and get another $100 back! Plus we get 90 days to switch the phone to something else that just came out.
How I know all that? I am one of the many that did the mistake of buying an LG. And all that I just stated happened to me with my voyage with the LG. I asked if its the same policy with the Sensation - and they said Yes.
The story is that I got the LG for $250, got the $50 MIR, in a month - the price of the G2x was $99, so I got $100 back. I was one of the first that got the phone, and I got it for less money than anyone else! Ofcourse, the phone was a big disapointment for me and my brother, so we had to return ours, but we got the Sensation. No contract renewal or anything else. Just added the extra $100 to get the phone.
So go ahead people, get the phone from Costco and save your hard earned cash! Amazon and Wirefly and T-Mobile sell phones at the same price at Costco, but in the end - you will save a lot more with Costco!!
P.S. - No, I am in no way affilliated with Costco (thank god...), I am just one of the many consumers looking to get the best deal for their money.
P.P.S. - I don`t know how much they are asking for the no contract Sensation 4G. Did not care enough to ask.
Cheapest place to get it will be the Tmo website on Fathers day.
250-50 mail in rebate-50 promotional code-120 for the fathers day sale= 30 dollars.
Yes it's not 30 bucks that you pay right now but that is what it works out to be at the end of the year ( when the 10 dollar a month off data father day sale pays fully ).

Cool, do they let you switch the phone in the next 90 days ? Its all about the perks, not the price only. Plus in future the price will be lower.
It's still 100 ( if they drop the price 100 in the next 30 days ) vs 30 but you do only get 30 days ( depending on location, we get 30 in California ) to exchange.
Bird in the hand and all.
oh well...
Im just trying to share my experience, and hopefully I can help someone by doing so.

[Q] Best One S Deal (UK) ?

I am looking to replace my HTC Desire with a One S when my contract ends in 3 weeks time. The best deal I can currently find is as follows:
200 min / 3000 sms / 500 MB @ £21.50/month (24 months)
Phone cost £39.99
On O2 network being offered by Phones4U
Anyone know of a better deal around?
Wait a couple of weeks until T-mobile get it and ask them to do a price match (or better it). I just did this with the Xperia S and they beat the current £21.50 O2 deal by nearly £100 (over a 24 month period).

Yeah that is my plan
Have already refused the retention department's current offer. Just waiting for them to start stocking the One S (after April 5 presumably) and I will try again.
Yeah, as always the case, the first offer they make you isnt usually even tempting.
The second person I spoke to said "they were from a slightly different department" and therefore were able to better the original offer...hmmmm, nothing to do with the fact a competing provider had a better deal - oh and of course the customary threat to leave
I like the look of the One S but the screen resolution and 16GB limit on storage is off putting. I have to last the phone for the next two years so need to look ahead. The One X is simply to big (4.7") for me.
Not seeing many reviews on the net for either of the S or X.
What a difference a day makes. All the O2 £21.50 offers have disappeared today...!

There are still a couple of places doing them, although o2 direct is not one of them. Seemed a bit strange as to why they were much cheaper than all other providers. just a one week promotion i guess.
I meant the HTC One S offers, not the Xperia but thanks anyway...
Oh, I must have missed all of the £21.50 offers on the One S...
Current best deal?:
300 min
unlimited sms
250MB data
FREE phone
£21/month on T-Mobile from mobilephonesdirect
(Buy it through Topcashback and get £30.30 cashback)!
