I think it would be cool to have a screensaver while the phone is charging. I wouldn't know how to start something like this but I was thinking something like the clock app (not widget) when you press the moon button underneath the clock. Just an idea.
Try alarm clock plus v2 it has a "start selected app on plug in" feature that may do what youre looking for. You will have to check in the auto start menu or whatever it is , there's an option to select screen saver mode for when the clock app is open then just select alarm clock plus to start when you plug it in. sorry if that's vague, its pretty user friendly. Make sure you use plug in times, thay easy you can set it to only activate on selected hours.

I looked for something like that once before, and came up empty handed.
I haven't specifically tried this yet with the program Tasker, but I believe it would be capable of creating what you're after. I'll give it a shot a little later, and let you know if it works. (Tasker isn't free, I'd hate to have you pay for it if I'm not sure about it working.)

quick settings lowers the brightness lower then what is possible through the OS.
Market -> search for "quick settings" - it has nice shortcut in the notification bar, but you can turn off the icon so it is only visible when you pull the shade down.

Or set it as the default function of a long press on the search capacitive button on the bottom. That's what I did, and it works great!
[SOLVED]
Here's a weird problem. I am NOT using the stock alarm system in Android, I am instead using the Kaloer clock application. I have all of the alarms off and deleted from the stock application, but the icon is still showing at the top. Does Kaloer clock enable the stock alarm icon? It has it's own built in icon so I wouldn't think so, but I'm wondering if I can get it turned off since I'm not using the stock alarm application.
[Solution:]
In the newest update of Kaloer clock, there is now an option to turn off the stock alarm icon as well as the Kaloer icon.
Thanks!
was wondering the samething?
I use Alarm Clock Plus & there's an option in settings to hide the alarm icon. You could try that, but I don't know how to do it with the app you use.
Turned off
The weird part is I have it turned off in the Kaloer clock app too. But I still get the icon at the top. If I reboot the phone, the icon goes away until the next time I run the Kaloer clock app. So I know it's linked to that app and not a general glitch. There's just no other way for me to turn it off and I find it kind of irritating since I'm anal retentive and don't want excess icons at the top of my screen.
Hoping someone can help me with this issue:
One of the "voice command" apps I was using set an alarm, and now I can't get the alarm icon to go away from the notification bar. I'm using a TouchWiz-based ROM (Synergy), but the clock app doesn't show any alarms set/active. In fact, I deleted every alarm and the icon is still there. I'm sure it's something that one of the "voice command" apps set, but can't figure out how to remove it. I even uninstalled all the voice command apps I use, and it's still there.
Is there a way to see all active clock alarms outside of the TouchWiz Clock app?
Thanks much.
##Edit: Figured it out. Alarm had been set using a desk clock app while in dock that is different from normal alarm.
Hi,
**Ommit this**
I would like to share with you how to disable USB charging on Photon Q, which might be useful when you often connect your phone to PC just for seconds to send some music, get latest photo etc. Everybody repeat words of big companies that today's batteries can be charged freely and don't have "memory effect", but I know what I know, I had a few phones, and battery in every of them worked for days even after years with careful charging. Furthermore, 30-second charging won't give you any more power, and for sure won't heal your battery - it can only make it worse. Then, there is the trick:
**Read from now on**
There is an activity in HiddenMenu.apk that is called SprintDataUsbChargingApp (full path is com.motorola.hiddenmenuapp.SprintDataUsbChargingApp) - you have to launch it, switch "USB Charging" to "Disabled" and hit "Done".
How to achieve this? Use any of shortcut making applications in Play Store, I particularly used Minimalistic Text, as I use it for cool on screen widgets anyway and it's free (check it out!). Then set your widget/shortcut on homescreen to open an application/activity on click and choose the activity mentioned before. In Minimalistic Text you have to put a widget on homescreen, settings menu appears, choose any of presets, go to "Tap behavior" tab, tick "Start another activity" and "Select an activity or a shortcut" - then find HiddenMenu.apk in the "Activities" tab and expand it, and choose "USB Charging" in the end of the list. Don't forget to hit save button on top bar! Go to your homescreen now, click on the widget you just set up and voila, here you have the switch
Enjoy.
As I cannot delete this post, I can only strike it out and WARN you - it disables charging AT ALL!!! Be careful and switch USB charging back on before your battery dies!
Sorry for this mistake.
Hi,
I would like to know if there was a way to use smart connect to get the desk clock that is a feature of the stock clock app to activate.
I know I can start the clock app using smart connect but I would like it to start in the desk clock feature....
Any ideas?

EDIT
Solution found.
Using smart connect instead of starting an app choose start a shortcut and then choose clock. This automatically starts the desk clock.
